Bypass ignition switch?
Your setup is more advanced than mine.Mine is just a lighted push button on/off switch. So having a key to turn off the power was a must.I forget passwords so having to remember a code sequence wouldn’t work for me.Bought mine through DK Customs.
I recently did this too, to clean up the dash. the wires on the push button are very thin. compared to OEM.I also relocated the key switch to down near the horn because I like the idea of being able to lock the ignition.

Checked fuses, battery, etc. Nothing obvious. Fuses good. Battery had a charge, powered directly connected accessories. Fiddling with the ignition switch we could get some power with the accessory position, nothing on the run side. Anyone know if the ignition switch just completes the circuit and could be bypassed by jumping the wires or if it does more?

How to Bypass Broken Ignition Switch
If the ignition switch of your car is broken, whether you take it to a mechanic or choose to do it yourself, replacing an ignition switch could be costly. This leaves many people wondering how to bypass an ignition switch to start their car, which is a feat in itself.
Bypassing a broken ignition switch is quite a technical procedure that will require a little more than just a manual and a keen sense of learning. The best case scenario is that you take your car to a professional to handle it or simply just replace the switch.
Keep in mind Oznium does not sell ignition switches.
In many cases, a job such as this one would require columns being removed and all sorts of rewiring, depending on the vehicle of course. For those of you who have older vehicles and are confident enough about your abilities, the best option is to install a push button ignition on your car, so we’ve created a 13 step guide on how to do just that.
How to install a Push Button Ignition on Your Car:
The first and MOST IMPORTANT step is to disconnect the battery of your car. Attempting this project while still hooked up to the battery could cause an injury or fire. Find the perfect placement for your push button starter switch, whether you put it on the dashboard or center console is totally up to you. Remove the nut from the positive stud of your starter solenoid with your wrenches or sockets. Remove the insulation a part of the way down your wire, preferably a 12-gauge (or more) wire, you can use a crimping tool to do this. Attach an eyelet connector over the positive stud of the solenoid. Crimp the connector onto the wire so it’s nice and secure and place the eyelet over the positive stud. Reattach the nut. Run the wire into the passenger side of your car in such a way that it won’t come into contact with hot or sharp engine parts. Check how much wire you’ll need and trim to the desired length. Strip the insulation on the end of your wire and install a crimp connector that will fit on one side of your push button switch. Remove the screw from the back of your push button switch, then join the connector and switch. Strip the remaining wire’s insulation about 1/4 inch down so you can install a crimp connector, remove the screw from the other side of your push button switch and join the connector and the switch. Route the wire to your battery’s positive, once again staying clear of hot or sharp parts that could damage the wire. You can now connect the negative side of the battery. Go ahead and connect the positive side of your battery.
Remember, you’ll still need your key so simply turn your key to the on position and push the push button starter switch!

Remove the panel from the ignition system and trace the wire to where it disconnects. The end will have a connector with 4 or 8 prongs.
Then use a copper wire and connect the pairs of prongs and as you do, watch the screen.
If it is green then go onto the next pair. When the red lights come on, you would have successfully hotwired a Harley Davidson.
How to Bypass a Motorcycle Ignition Switch?
You would have to go to your local dealers and buy a new OEM replacement key blank that contains a transponder inside of it.
You take that, along with the spare key you already have, to any lockmaster store and have the new key cut to match the spare one.
After that, you can ride your motorcycle back to the dealers and get one of the tech support workers in the service department to program the new key. This is to match the transponder code of the spare key you used to ride there. That will cost you around $120 or so.
If you don’t have a spare key then it is very difficult, really. There isn’t any way around it that doesn’t cost thousands of dollars to put right, especially if you ride a Yamaha and lose the red master key.
This is because you have to replace the whole lock set, transponder receiver, and ECU to get the bike to start again. That will cost you around $3000 or so.
How to Start a Harley Davidson Without a Key?
If you have a security-equipped bike, you know that without your key fob, the bike cannot start.
What you have to know is your PIN number, just in case you lose your key fob on a ride. If you bought the bike new from a dealer, this information should have been given to you, but it is not true for every customer.
If your bike has security, as well as a fob it can be started by the backup PIN. It is usually a five-digit number that your local dealer can reset or set for you using the Digital Tech system. Once you know the PIN you can change it yourself; follow the instructions in the manual.
The process is very easy. If your fob is missing, turn the ignition switch to “on” and the security light will begin to flash. Press and hold the left turn signal until you can see these words on the screen “Enter PIN” flashing on the speedometer.
Using the left turn signal to cycle through the digits and the right turn signal to select and move onto the next slot, then you can enter your own five-digit PIN and your bike is running again.
So, if you don’t know your PIN, go on down to your local dealer and get one of your own choices. This is so you can be sure never to be stranded on the side of the road because the fob gets left behind or is lost.
