How To Use Focus Assist to Control Notifications in Windows 10 [Tutorial]On Windows 10, Focus assist is a handy feature that allows you to minimize or completely stop notifications when you need to stay focused to get work done, or you want to avoid interruptions during a presentation or while playing an exciting game.
Focus assist isn’t a new feature with the Windows 10 April 2018 update (version 1803), and it was previously known as Quiet hours. However, with a new name, you’re now getting new options to customize the experience, including the ability to automatically pick those times when you don’t want to be bothered with automatic rules.
One of the most important things a person needs in order to do highlevel creative work is a lack of interruption. Whether you are creating a masterpiece in PhotoShop, studying for a test or coding the latest app, you need focus.
Buried under all the other unsung features of Windows 10, Microsoft has actually included a feature in the April 2018 Update that lets you take control of how and when Windows will interrupt you with notifications.
Anyone who has switched on their computer to a barrage of dings knows how valuable that can be. The feature is called Focus Assist and is very easy to use once you know where to find it.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

Focus assist (also called quiet hours in earlier version of Windows 10) allows you to avoid distracting notifications when you need to stay focused. Here’s how to turn this setting on or off:
1) Select the Action Center icon on the taskbar.
2) Select Focus assist to turn it on or off. (You may need to select Expand first.)
