Sir I have 4 independent variables. I found the correlation with dependent variables and found the values of each independent variables. Now the hurdle is, I want to give them weightage and then normalize and compute in one score. How can I do it?
Hi Dr Todd, thanks for sharing the tutorial on the conversion of raw scores to t score for individual participant. If for example, i have 30 participants and each taken 5 different test with different total raw score per test. Is it possible to compare the total for each test using t score ?
Excellent video… very helpful!
Thank you, I couldn't have done my assignment without your video. You made it easy.
calculating the t-score seemed more complicated, especially since you need the z-score to get the t-score. I will definitely be reviewing this video again with excel to make sure I get how to do it.
I'm glad to have this existing reference of how to do these calculations, because at this point it's not something I have memorized.
It helps to go through step by step with this information provided in regards to T scores in Excel. I feel like when, or if we have an assignment that deals with finding T scores, I will utilize this video and go backs step-by-step.
I think it was helpful to learn how to compare z scores and t scores right next to one another. I also do not have much experience with this so it will have to be something I reference back to.
I would like to watch this again while I follow along in Excel with some sample data. It is obvious that T scores are a great way to compare data from different instruments but to really understand, I think I need to do it.
I was able to follow along on my computer, but am definitely going to need to come back to watch the video again when trying to calculate T-scores.
This is still an introduction for T scores for me. I am sure it will all become more clear as we go forward.
I remember using t scores in my undergrad class. However, it has been a while so I'm sure I will be a great reference tool as I work through this course.
Along with what many other people have noted, they do appear complex, but by following along on excel I feel I have a better grasp of what the score calculates and how to calculate.
Looking at the T scores can show what scores are more accurate among two studies with different instruments. I found it to be confusing at first but I assume T scores are used when z scores are also present.
I'm certain I will watch this tutorial at least another time. This was actually very complex to me.
Before this course I have never even heard of t-scores and, to be honest, I thought that this was a typo in the title. Now that I know what a t-score is and what it does this video made calculating t-scores much simpiler to understand
Using Excel to covert variables into T Scores makes this process much easier and quicker. The autofill option is great in saving time, which I can imagine is very helpful when calculating many different statistics. I like how Dr. Grande broke down the meaning of both the T scores and the Z scores because I get lost in the meaning of the terms sometimes.
This is really helpful in calculating a series of t-scores. Of course, this can be done by hand but with the creation of the table with mean, SD and such it makes it much quicker and easier. It is interesting that z and t-scores have the same base which ultimately is the z-score.
I like this video because it brings it back to the basics. Each part of the process was explained, and I need that in these videos. I can actually imagine myself running this test because it is simple, but is very helpful. I like all the shortcuts Excel has, but I would need a master key to remember them all. I would like a video for just that! I guess the one thing that confused me is why you need a z-score for all participants. I thought you would only need it for each test.
