First Aid Kit
The First Aid Kit (FAK) is used to treat small wounds.
Point the cursor at a wounded soldier.
Open the action menu [Mouse wheel down] .
. Select treat .
. Confirm with [Space] to use the FAK.
You can even use it on yourself.
FAK is depleted after a single use and is removed from your inventory.
Fatigue
When your character starts to breathe heavily and is unable to aim steadily or continue running, he is fatigued. Stop moving for a while and catch your breath.
When fatigued, all actions take longer to complete and the time you can hold your breath while aiming is shortened. Current load also contributes to fatigue.
Fire
Don’t stay near fire or you will get burned. Fire damage is as dangerous as being hit by a bullet. Luckily, your armor protects you the same way.
Vehicles can withstand a fire for a time before taking damage. This time increases with their armor.
Fall and Hit Damage
When you fall from certain heights, you suffer damage according to your gained momentum (speed and mass). The same applies to vehicles and also for being hit by them.
The damage caused by hits and falls is mitigated by armor. This is especially useful while being in vehicles as their armor counts towards protecting their crewmen.
Injury
A few hits usually result in death, but for now you are just injured . Your condition affects your view, aim and speed, but it is treatable. Now, call for a medic:
Press [~] to open fast commands.
to open fast commands. Report Injured.
Alternative call procedure:
Press [5] for status reports.
for status reports. Press [4] for Injured.
Medkit
Medics are trained to use a Medkit, which can permanently heal any damage. When healing yourself as a Medic equipped with a Medkit:
Open the action menu [Mouse wheel down] .
. Select Treat self .
. Confirm with [Space].
Unlike the First Aid Kit, only Medics can use a Medkit.
Damage
Damage from bullets and explosives is mitigated by armor. The more armor your uniform or vehicle has, the less damage is received.
For increased protection, don’t forget to equip a helmet and vest, as they add armor.
Damage also affects movement and aim. When shot in the leg, you will not be able to sprint. When shot in the arm, aiming will become harder.
Drowning
When you are underwater without a rebreather for a longer time, your oxygen supply will start to run out. Tunnel vision indicates that you are lacking oxygen and start taking drowning damage. Go to the surface fast.
This damage is also inflicted in other situations where the oxygen level is limited, like in sealed rooms or while using gas weapons.
How to aim Down Sights In Arma 3
00:00 welcome to the video ladies and
00:02 gentlemen practice here ARMA 3 going to
00:04 be going over all the basic controls
00:06 it’s going to be a menu on the left side
00:07 of the screen you can hit X to get rid
00:09 of that 1 2 & 3 will skip you to
00:11 different parts of the video one will
00:13 skipping the stances two will skip you
00:15 to gun controls and three will skip you
00:18 to how to control your scope and all
00:20 that good stuff so let’s go over basic
00:23 controls you know how standard games
00:24 work W a s and D move your character
00:27 around in the game environment inside
00:30 ARMA 3 the enter key on your number pad
00:32 will change you between first-person and
00:34 third-person view unless the server is
00:36 locked into hardcore mode in which case
00:39 you’ll only have access to this
00:42 first-person view I like to play and
00:45 third-person until I get into combat in
00:46 the switch to first-person other basic
00:49 controls x will lower your stance down x
00:52 again will stand you back up Z is to go
00:54 prone you can hit X or C to stand the
00:58 whole way up or lay the whole way down
01:01 actually apparently they got rid of
01:03 hitting C to stand the whole way up
01:05 other than that hitting W will move you
01:08 forward hitting shift will make you run
01:11 hitting ctrl R I’m sorry hitting W and s
01:15 key at the same time will bring you into
01:18 a walking stance and if you hit C and
01:24 then press forward it will bring up your
01:27 gun and you’ll use a little bit more
01:29 stamina but you’ll be able to move with
01:32 your sights up now you’ll exhaust a
01:35 little bit faster but this is
01:36 particularly good if you need to keep
01:38 moving at a relatively decent pace and
01:40 you’re inside of an urban environment
01:42 you want to keep your sights up so that
01:44 you can quickly turn a corner pop a few
01:46 shots off if you need to and get back
01:48 behind cover other than that lowering C
01:51 will give you a little bit more stamina
01:53 you’ll be able to run at a normal pace
01:55 your gear does matter now let’s talk
01:57 about how to get in the gear you hit I
01:59 to go into your it go into your
02:01 inventory each one of these slots is
02:03 clickable for example right here we’re
02:05 looking at what’s inside of my fatigues
02:07 first aid packs ammunition smoke grenade
02:11 double-clicking on the vest pouch
02:14 it’s in their frag grenades and more
02:16 you’ve got your helmet goggles
02:17 night-vision your binoculars and/or
02:20 rangefinders your weapon all of its
02:23 attachments secondary weapon its
02:25 attachments your pistol its attachments
02:27 so on and so forth map GPS radio compass
02:32 and so on in order to bring up your
02:35 compass you hold down the letter K if
02:37 you want your compass to stay on screen
02:39 you double tap you need to keep that in
02:41 mind for most the game double tap will
02:43 work for almost all controls that way
02:46 they stay up on the screen you hit o to
02:48 bring up your watch and if you do have a
02:51 GPS you should be able to hit open ott
02:53 whether G but G does throw a granade so
02:56 we just covered that G will throw your
03:00 grenades you can’t throw them out like
03:01 you would call a duty style you have to
03:03 wait until they hit the ground before
03:05 you can throw another one and we’ll save
03:07 the heat grenades for now spoke grenades
03:10 break line of sight in between you and
03:12 NPCs you want to keep that in mind it
03:15 does work against players but players
03:17 can kind of see through the smoke so you
03:19 don’t want to really rely on that too
03:21 much other basic controls double tapping
03:24 control will lower your weapon and will
03:28 allow you to walk with your weapon
03:30 double tapping again will bring it up if
03:32 you come into a game and your weapons
03:34 lower just remember double tapping
03:36 control will raise and lower your weapon
03:39 above the enter key on your keyboard is
03:42 the backslash key backslash key will
03:44 make you salute you can bind it to
03:45 surrender if you want to put your hands
03:47 over your head
03:48 depending on what game mode you’re
03:50 actually playing now other basic
03:55 controls I’m going to cover in a
03:56 separate video when I get to AI controls
03:58 and stuff like that now we’re going to
03:59 go right into stances so an ARMA 3 they
04:03 really overworked the stance system and
04:05 I’m going to show you exactly how to do
04:07 the stances now you already know some of
04:10 the basic stances X will drop you to
04:12 your knees axial drop you to prone but
04:14 there are stances and between that are
04:16 really valuable particularly when you
04:18 get up against destroyed rubble etc now
04:21 to activate secondary stance modes we
04:24 need to do as you need to can it
04:26 control and that will give you access to
04:29 secondary command so for an example
04:31 control X will lower you down one
04:34 control X again oh one moment I’m sorry
04:38 it’s not control X its control s control
04:41 s will change your stance to a secondary
04:44 stance so control s will lower you down
04:47 a little bit
04:48 for an example control D will lean you
04:51 to the side control a will bring you
04:54 back into the middle and then control a
04:55 will take you to the other side so you
04:57 definitely want to practice that just
04:59 hold it in control and go through your
05:01 stances hit s again it’ll drop you a
05:03 little bit lower than you were again now
05:07 you’re on your knees again you’re a
05:09 little bit lower even lower this is
05:11 great for hiding behind rocks so they’re
05:13 in between each stance there’s always
05:15 the side angle stance and this is what
05:18 we call the sniping sitting position and
05:21 basically gives you extreme stability
05:23 with your weapon when you’re in this
05:25 stance unfortunately when you’re sitting
05:28 you don’t have any extra stances and
05:30 hitting control s one more time will
05:33 bring you down into the prone position
05:34 now from the prone position you have
05:36 side facing stances if you need to lean
05:39 around the wall simply crawling around
05:41 the side might leave you a little bit
05:43 vulnerable so you know just getting near
05:45 the edge and then doing this will bring
05:47 you around it in the end for an example
05:49 here let’s just scoot over a hare and
05:52 we’ll pretend that this white line is a
05:54 wall and we’ll drop down the first
05:56 person view I’ll show you is equity I’m
05:58 talking about for some reason I can’t
06:02 get back into third or first-person mode
06:04 there but you kind of get the idea now
06:09 control basically in ARMA 3 will give
06:11 you access to all your secondary stances
06:15 as you can see there’s a lot of
06:17 different stances that they brought for
06:20 you in ARMA 3 and a lot of them have you
06:22 know legitimate values particularly this
06:26 stance here being down below rock cover
06:29 etcetera be able to lean out suddenly
06:31 and then get back down that’s
06:35 particularly nice the sitting position
06:37 is great for sniping
06:40 it gives you just just about the same
06:43 control that you get when you’re in
06:44 prone position but not quiet it’s very
06:48 very very close you’ll still get quite a
06:51 bit of sway when you’re looking um you
06:54 know down the scope of a high-powered
06:56 rifle now this is just an MRC Oh scope
06:58 now what mr CEO stands for I couldn’t
07:01 actually tell you but we’ll be getting
07:04 into that so that’s going to cover the
07:06 basic stances there’s not too many other
07:08 things you can do with your stance here
07:10 um but as you can see there’s a lot of
07:14 different variations of the stances and
07:16 each one’s has their own you know perks
07:19 and their own drawbacks for an example
07:22 the extremely low position will always
07:25 bring you back into the low position
07:26 however if you try to run from that
07:29 position sometimes you’ll get a really
07:31 weird effect like the one that you just
07:33 saw there we get an extremely strange
07:36 effect now when your character stops
07:38 he’s in the outwards lean position which
07:40 you have to correct to be able to move
07:43 normally you know just giving you some
07:48 more examples here of you know how the
07:51 different stances could affect you
07:57 so that’s going to cover stances now the
08:00 last thing I want to cover in this video
08:02 is weapon controls this is something not
08:04 a whole lot of people really understand
08:06 yet now unfortunately I don’t know all
08:10 the scripting needed to bring in all the
08:12 different scopes on that I need however
08:15 basically when playing ARMA 3 unless
08:18 you’re playing a sniper which I don’t
08:19 suggest unless you’re shooting over 600
08:22 meters and further everything that
08:25 you’re going to need is going to be
08:25 attached to an M R Co scope which is
08:29 exactly what I’m using here a regular M
08:32 R Co won’t have this little top sight
08:34 here it will only be this sight here now
08:37 let me go over the controls quickly if
08:39 how you get in and out of these two
08:40 different sights now first you have your
08:43 red dot sight this is good up to 100
08:45 meters 150 you know between 100 and 200
08:49 meters um the red dot sight will be more
08:52 than enough for you an example shooting
08:54 over that bus you should see the bullets
08:56 hitting the dirt just a short distance
08:59 away let’s go ahead get on the map um
09:01 and yeah pushes really don’t show up but
09:04 let’s just put a marker over there and
09:06 I’m going to assume okay it’s a hundred
09:07 and thirty ish meters to that bush so in
09:11 between 100 and 200 meters you’re just
09:14 fine using that version of the scope now
09:16 the controls to get into the secondary
09:17 version of the scope are simply hitting
09:20 the control key and then right-clicking
09:22 on your mouse that will bring up your
09:25 secondary scope now what you need to
09:27 keep in mind about this scope is the
09:29 little red um well not little red line
09:32 but the tall red line above the number
09:34 four there and the dot itself that
09:37 itself is going to be about 150 ish
09:40 meters and anything above that will be
09:42 closer what you need to keep in mind is
09:45 unless you’re actually dialing your
09:47 scope in and out which I’ll be showing
09:48 you how to do if you’re in the close
09:51 confrontation for an example say
09:53 someone’s right here at this building
09:56 simply shooting at the red dot may or
09:59 may not get you exactly where you need
10:01 to be but as long as you can see the red
10:05 line on your screen lined up in their
10:07 chest region then you know for certain
10:09 that you are going to hit them somewhere
10:11 on their body in between their hips and
10:14 their upper chest now it gets a little
10:17 more hairy the further out you go as you
10:20 can see you can see the numbers 4 6 & 8
10:22 in between 4 6 & 8 are little dashes so
10:25 it’s 400 meters 5 6 7 8 9 and 1000
10:29 meters and this scope is accurate up to
10:32 a thousand meters however you need to
10:34 keep in mind different round sizes have
10:35 different power for an example the I
10:39 think it’s 12-point ern yeah 12.7
10:42 millimeter rounds that come in the
10:43 sniper rifles can travel 1,000 meters in
10:46 under a second however six point five
10:49 millimeter rounds are going to take
10:51 almost a second and a half to two
10:53 seconds to travel on 1000 meters so for
10:57 this example let’s go ahead and get down
11:00 into the setting position if you look in
11:02 the upper right corner there you could
11:04 actually see what stance mm I’m sorry so
11:08 just for this demonstration let me see
11:11 if I can find something that is around
11:13 about I mean that’s not quite that’s
11:15 probably around 400 meters but as you
11:19 can see that was almost a half second to
11:22 a full second delay time in the distance
11:24 between here and there when I fired and
11:27 there you saw the splash again just keep
11:31 an eye right in the center of your
11:32 screen kick it up to 1080p if you need
11:34 to and you’ll be able to see that it
11:36 actually takes you know a little bit of
11:38 time for that bullet to get there you
11:40 can imagine what happens over a thousand
11:42 meters you’re looking at considerable
11:44 travel time so anything over 600 meters
11:47 you want to be using a really
11:49 high-powered rifle a high-powered round
11:51 now as far as round sizes and stuff like
11:55 that I highly suggest you go check out
11:56 my friend sergeant Merrill there will be
11:58 a small link in the lower left corner of
12:00 that menu that I was talking about that
12:02 will take you over to his channel he’s a
12:04 gun enthusiast and he can tell you all
12:06 about the different round sizes and all
12:09 that good stuff right now he’s doing
12:11 some stuff with battlefield 4 but hey
12:13 you know he goes over all the technical
12:15 aspects of it all I know is how it
12:17 operates inside of this game I’ve never
12:19 actually gone out and shot
12:22 real rifles myself so there’s that for
12:25 you
12:26 but the final controls that you need to
12:28 know for your rifle itself are how to
12:31 use your attachments and stuff so for an
12:33 example I mean you won’t be able to see
12:35 this right now it has an IR laser
12:37 pointer and this is basically for
12:40 highlighting targets during the night
12:42 for players and enemies now we need to
12:46 keep in mind as anyone else that has
12:48 night vision are going to be able to see
12:49 a laser markers but in order to activate
12:51 your laser all you have to do is hit the
12:53 L key the L key will turn it on and off
12:56 so that’s how you turn your laser sight
12:59 on and off we already covered the scope
13:01 and the silencer has absolutely no
13:03 controls over you all you can do is take
13:06 it on and off the gun it doesn’t make a
13:08 huge difference however what you need to
13:10 keep in mind is instead of the game
13:12 forcing you to use lower powered rounds
13:15 for silenced weapons for an example of
13:18 the 6.5 rounds that I have inside this
13:20 weapon if I was going to put a silencer
13:23 on it it would probably probably require
13:25 a special type of ammunition that has a
13:28 lower velocity speed low you know a
13:31 lower amount of gunpowder inside the
13:33 bullet itself to try to compensate for
13:36 you know the silencer itself you don’t
13:38 want to damage it putting out too much
13:40 power and and you know to faster rounds
13:43 will just damage a silencer so they
13:45 don’t make you put in a week or
13:48 ammunition it automatically adjust it
13:50 for you for an example with an
13:53 unsilenced six point five millimeter
13:55 round versus an enemy AI three shots to
13:58 the chest unsilenced will normally kill
14:01 them or the silenced round it takes
14:03 about four um
14:05 give or take it depends on where you hit
14:07 them if you hit them square in the chest
14:08 right where the heart would be it’s only
14:10 going to take you two signs rounds if
14:11 you’re hitting them in the gut it’s
14:12 going to take you four however if you’re
14:15 unsilenced one round of the chest will
14:17 take them down and two rounds to the gut
14:19 will take them out so you need to keep
14:22 that in mind even though they don’t say
14:24 that it’s moving to a lower powered
14:27 amunition it actually is the last thing
14:31 i want to talk about is dialing in your
14:33 scope unfortunately I don’t have a ray
14:35 finder so we’re going to be cheating in
14:37 this now the distance between my little
14:40 character here and this point here was
14:42 130 meters however if you shift-click
14:46 anywhere else in the map it’s going to
14:48 go ahead and throw down a marker and
14:50 that’s 677 meters to that point now 600
14:55 meters let’s just take a shot and see if
14:59 it lands there I doubt it will what you
15:01 can do is do page up and page down if
15:04 you have a sniper scope now fortunately
15:06 this isn’t a sniper scope that can’t be
15:08 dialed up and down stop for 300 meters
15:11 on that way the scope on top of the
15:14 rifle is accurate however we’re just
15:16 going to show you how the dial mm by
15:18 taking it off now iron sights can
15:22 actually be dialed in so page up if you
15:24 look in the upper right corner of the
15:26 screen you’ll see page up 100 200 300
15:28 400 500 600 677 meters so we’re going to
15:32 kick it up to 700 unfortunately the iron
15:35 sights won’t allow you to go up to 700
15:37 meters but as I said before you should
15:39 not be using a normal rifle to shoot
15:42 over 600 meters begin with but as you
15:46 can see it’s really really difficult to
15:49 tell exactly where you’re aiming so I
15:52 think what we’ll do is we will aim and
15:56 you can’t hold in um you can’t hold in
16:00 right click just to slow your motion um
16:03 that much because your character runs on
16:05 the breath but what we’re going to try
16:07 to do is we’re going to try to shoot 600
16:09 meters and see where it lands and
16:13 there’s no way for me to tell where that
16:15 lands but that’s the basic controls for
16:18 how the 0 in your scope if you have a
16:20 rangefinder that’s how you know you’ll
16:22 shoot accurately every time different
16:25 types of scopes that you can put on your
16:27 weapon are going to let you dial them
16:28 and there are some higher powered scopes
16:31 you can put on a normal rifle that will
16:33 let you dial it however you need to keep
16:35 in mind the travel time on a smaller
16:38 round is going to be a lot higher than
16:40 if you just pick up a high-powered rifle
16:41 with a travel time of a thousand meters
16:44 per second so that’s basically going to
16:47 wrap it up for
16:49 weapon stances and basic controls for
16:51 the game there’s anything you guys would
16:53 like to know go ahead leave it in the
16:54 comments and I’ll try to make a video
16:56 for it I’m trying to get back into
16:57 making videos I’m kind of done with the
17:00 World of Warcraft thing I just want to
17:01 stick with the ARMA 3 for now I’m really
17:03 enjoying ARMA 3 and all it has to offer
17:05 particularly with all these new mods
17:07 coming out I’m going to be doing some
17:10 more Altis life here in the future the
17:12 one problem with doing all this life
17:13 series happens to be that there is no
17:16 just sit down and play and hope you
17:19 capture something I mean when you when
17:20 you decide you’re going to play Altis
17:22 life for the day like that’s what you’re
17:24 doing that day you’ve got you’re
17:26 probably going to play like ten hours
17:27 and you’re might going to capture like
17:29 five or six minutes of really intense
17:31 action the rest of its going to be like
17:33 stupid crap traveling from A to B you
17:35 know hooking up with a couple of guys
17:37 and going you know maybe like rob the
17:39 bank or something like that you know
17:42 it’s just it’s it’s not a good series to
17:46 try to capture in YouTube I’m trying to
17:47 do it but it’s taken quite honestly it
17:50 it’s the kind of series you want a live
17:51 stream so I may be doing that in the
17:54 future live streaming days where I play
17:56 Altis life um but like I said it’s not
17:58 something that you can just um you know
18:01 sit down and and play 1020 minutes of
18:04 and get some you know good footage is
18:06 the way you’re going to sit there for
18:07 four or five hours and be playing Altis
18:09 life especially because you got to build
18:10 up money and stuff like that so if I
18:13 decide to livestream that any day you
18:15 know schedule it like three days
18:17 beforehand I’ll leave a notice up here
18:19 on the channel and anyone who wants to
18:21 come play with me or come watch a stream
18:23 said you know you’re more than welcome
18:25 to do that I definitely want to get into
18:28 a series where I get a few more
18:30 youtubers or anybody and with me you
18:33 know just to have some fun and you know
18:35 and record that stuff because games are
18:37 a lot more fun with your friends anyhow
18:39 that’s going to wrap it up for this
18:40 video guys I’ve been in breakfast and
