This tutorial explains how to clear cache, delete cookies and browser history on Google Chrome. People generally mix between these 3 concepts, while they are completely different. I thought of sharing the concept along with sharing the method to delete them in Google chrome.

What are cookies – These are small text files, generally used by e commerce companies to track user preferences, so that they can show ads for product for which users have shown interest. Also it is a tool through which websites recognize their customers.
If you fill up some information regarding you sign up in e commerce site and suddenly that link breaks, when you come back to it, you will notice that information already filled is there, this happens largely because of cookies.
Most popular reason people delete cookies is because they don’t want websites to track their preferences.
What is cache – These are temporary files on your hard disk, that get get created, so that website loading gets faster and next time when you visit a website, it loads from your computer system, unless some changes have happened during this period.
Popular reason why people delete or clear cache is because – they are facing problems in loading the latest version of website or website with updated information. They may do so if they are facing problem in loading images.
What is browser history – Every web page you visit is tracked by Google chrome and a history of various details of web browsing is maintained on server through your system. If you don’t want Google to track your browsing history then you can delete the same.
Generally it is observed that if someone does not want his browsing history to be viewed by others, especially when using shared computer then people go to history and delete the web pages visited by them or they accidentally end up deleting the complete browsing history. This happens may be because they do not know that browsing history of individual web pages can also be deleted.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome.
Step 2: Open this link:
chrome://netinternals/dns
Step 3: Click on ‘Clear Host cache.’
Step 4: Click on ‘Sockets’ in left menu. After that, click on ‘Close idle sockets,’ and then click on ‘Flush socket pools.’
Note: You can use this link chrome://netinternals/sockets to directly open sockets screen.
Step 5: Clear cache in Google Chrome, follow the video tutorial above.
Step 6: (Optional)Flush DNS Resolver cache on windows 10
i) Open Command prompt as an Administrator. After that, Type the below command, and then hit enter.
ipconfig /flushdns
It’s done.

Follow the steps below to delete all Google Chrome browser history:
1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
2. Open the Chrome settings by first selecting the 3 dots icon in the top right of Chrome and then selecting More tools in the menu.
3. In More tools, select Clear browsing data.
4. Once the settings open to Clear browsing data, select the Basic tab.
5. Select the time frame for clearing cache in your Chrome browser.
6. Now ensure the following options are checked:
• Cookies, and other site data
• Cached images and files
7. Select Clear Data to clear the cache in your Chrome browser.
