Hello, how long can donabe retain heat? I am thinking of using one to make yogurt. 😊 thank you!
Should I soak the pot before every use? Or do I do this once and just cook rice in it by just putting water and rice?
Do I have to cook with an open flame or can I do it on an electric stove?
Please check your link. The rest of hour channel is not available there is some problem. I tried a few times.
Thank you so much. I loved my last donabe but only used in microwave I didn’t season so it got stained and never knew it could go on the stove. Thank you so much! ( I’m seasoning it right now)
I don't understand. Isn't it glazed? Do you need to season a glazed clay pot?
Can we cook curry in donabe?
Hi! Thank you so much for your video! It’s really helpful!! I just received my little nabe pot and want to seasoning it but I only have brown rice right now can I use it? Thank you!
Awesome video! Is there any Donabe Pot that you would recommend for a beginner?
This might seem like a silly question but if a donabe has a black glaze on the inside, I assume then you don’t need to season? Thanks in advance
Hello! Thank you for sharing your instructions. I recently received a stone/clay pot similar to a donabe. Looks like it have some kind of paint or coating on the inside and outside of the pot. Do I need to soak this over night before seasoning with cooking rice/porridge method?
Thank you so much for the instructions! They matched almost 100% to the written instructions I received with my donabe except you had MORE detail and to see exactly how to you treat yours helped so much (such as pouring some of that porridge on the rim, edge where the 70% water fill isn’t reaching! Thank you again.
can this beautiful pot cook on an electric glass top?
This may be a dumb question but what kind of rice should be used to season a donabe? I have minute rice and jasmine rice. Should I get some plain long grained rice?
Hi Mrs.Lin, I know there are different colors inside. Do you know what color is good for health? Thank you!
You are wonderful Japanese lady! I learned how to use the clay pot. Thank you!
I can use a metal spoon ? Not necessary a wooden spoon?
Hi! Is it possible to replace the cooked rice by rice flour for the seasoning?
Thx !
I was wondering if soap is a good idea when using a porous material. We never wash the pizza stone with soap. If the inside is not glazed you will ever be able to take the soap perfume.

How about lead in the paint?
I did this, but afterwards, I remembered I added a few drops of sesame oil to my rice when I first cooked it. Should I redo this process? Also, how often should this process be done?
I was seasoning my donabe and the rice burned on the bottom. How can I remove the burned rice?
