I think the precision of German engineering is shown in these tests very well. Schluter designed their membrane to be used specifically in showers that get very little use, don't have standing water and dry out very quickly between uses. I feel like in reality, your tests show exactly the flaws in our thinking…. when we think of waterproofing a shower as customers we think that we can use it a swimming pool and it will be fine, no water will get through it…. As a customer, when I pay for a shower, that is what I expect for the price. Going forward… I like the idea of using either noble value seal with their 150 seal, use Goboard becker that is foam and waterproof to minimize the amount of topical membrane I use…. or just go and use a topical membrane and sleep easy knowing that you can swim in that shower for a month and not worry about your house falling apart. Thanks for taking the time and money to do these tests. super helpful for DIYers and professionals alike!
there is not a peel test in the tile industry since you can not peel tile.There is however both tensile pull and shear.In the USA we test to shear (pushing tile off)..The ANSI 118.10 standard for thin set load bearing waterproofing membranes references ASTM C482 with a min.shear strength of 50 psi. The average shear value for Valueseal tested at a outside independent lab is 219.0 # psi per the test report.

cool vid test,isaac like the other comment would've been good to use their proprietary noble caulk sealant,and K fix as well,nice to see it held water ,kerdi membrane seems to have pores, any input on why,and yes more fleece seems a stronger bite

Hydroban all day over these membranes, in the end theyre faster and more reliable.

Noble TS is thicker than noble value seal. Noble company actually tells you to use their sealant for the seams. It comes in a tube and i think it's called noble 150 and that must be used in all seams. You should've used their sealant with your patch. Noble TS membrane can also be used as a pan liner with a preslope…..Schluter kerdi pretty much copied these guys and made a heck of a better job marketing it. Unfortunately not a lot of places carry Noble membranes.
I've tested a cut kerdi fix corner for 48 hours now..no leak. I'll be making a vid and I'll tag you.
As I watch so many of these tests I know these things save time over a liquid membrane. But I’ve never had to go back to fix a leak in the red guard I have used. This always raises as many questions as it answers. Great content enjoy your efforts 👍

I think these testing are cool cause i dont believe what the manufacture puts out. But your last couple of videos ive watched you never have shown your company going back to what works. That being floating.

where is noble sold? I have a dealer close by for kerdi but have never seen this product..
Love your stuff isaac, I still want to see a test that incorporates wall/floor movement overtime, that has been the only reason we have had showers leak.
Can you do a test by adhering a tile to the membrane and hang weights on it to see when it will fall off?
