This week we’ll show you how to import your video DVDs into MP4 files so you can watch your owned DVDs once again on nextgen devices such as Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

How to Rip DVDs and Bluerays Using MakeMKV and Handbrake
In this video, I demonstrate how to rip a DVD or Blueray to your hardrive using the software Make MKV and Handbrake. If you’re using a Ubuntu based distribution, install MakeMKV using the following terminal commands:
sudo addaptrepository ppa:heyarje/makemkvbeta
sudo aptget update
sudo aptget install makemkvbin makemkvoss

To add Handbrake via the terminal:
sudo addaptrepository ppa:stebbins/handbrakereleases
sudo aptget update
sudo aptget install handbrakegtk
