How to do brow lamination at home, save money, and get your best, fluffy brows

Brow Lamination: The latest “trend” for your eyebrows. It may sound strange but once I explain it everything will make sense.

The treatment was started in Russia and there are some places that offer it in London, USA and Amsterdam and I’m sure more places will offer this soon. It’s quite an expensive treatment though, I’ve found it to be around £70.

Essentially, this is an eyebrow lift/perm (just like an eyelash lift) that aims to fluff up your brows and make them stay in place longer. This is the ideal treatment for those with full brows that may be unruly. I always apply brow gels but even that doesn’t help them stay in place all day.

What you need for brow laminating/lifting

Brow lift/lamination at home tools:

A lash lift kit I bought here on Amazon for £16

A round of cotton to clean the eyebrows, mine are reusable

Apply some cream/Vaseline to the skin around the eyebrows as a barrier. I used my favorite lip balm, Lucas’ Papaw

Spoolie to brush the brows

Eyebrow scissors (optional)

Dye if you want to dye your eyebrows (I didn’t)

How one

– Start by cleaning the eyebrows

– Apply the barrier around them to protect the skin

– Apply eyelash glue to define the shape (not sure if it is absolutely necessary)

– Add the first bottle of the kit which is the perm. Apply evenly and then cover with a piece of cling film

– Leave on for 8-12 minutes (I left it 10)

– Remove the cling film, add the second bottle, the ‘fixation’

– Leave on for 8-12 minutes (I left it 10)

– At this point you can tint them if you want

– Add the nourishing oil and let it work for a few minutes

– If necessary, use the “Cleaner” to remove residue

– If necessary, trim the ends of the brows very slightly

Do not leave water on it for 24 to 48 hours!

It’s been about a week since I finished them and while they don’t stay as fluffy as the first few days, they look great. I’m very happy with how they turned out and will definitely do this again. I would be curious if it would have a different effect if this was done in a salon by a professional, although I doubt it as these are the type of products they would use. Maybe their products are stronger so the treatment would take longer.

Once I brush them up they stay in place much easier than before brow lamination.

Apparently I was living under a rock because before this month I knew absolutely nothing about brow lamination. Today I’m sharing all about those coveted feathery brows so you no longer have to sit on that cold bathroom countertop and pluck and wax your super curly brows… just to fill them in every day.

What is brow lamination?

Brow lamination, also known as feather brows, is a technique that helps correct eyebrow hairs that grow in different directions. It can create the illusion of almost twice as much hair.

It is a needle-free alternative to microblading. It’s basically a perm for your brows (without the harsh chemicals!) that tames unruly hairs and sets them in place for that on-trend fluffy combed-straight look.

My experience with eyebrow lamination

I’m sharing my brow lamination process that I received from Arts of Attraction in St. Petersburg, Florida. My service was performed by licensed tattoo artist and esthetician Natalie Sue.

While Arts of Attraction is a complete beauty and brow lounge offering everything from facials, eyelash extensions and tattoo removal; They are known for creating killer brows and one of the first in the United States to offer brow lamination.

As you can see there is a party at the beginning of my brows (thick) and none at the end of my brows.

Preparation for an eyebrow lamination

When preparing for brow lamination, you should make sure that you do not remove any hairs or shapes within 2 weeks. This allows your brow technician to shape and remove unwanted brow hairs.

In addition, you cannot get your brows wet for 24 hours after brow lamination as this may affect the connection. Therefore, I recommend keeping your makeup minimal on brewing day.

The first step of brow laminating is for the beautician to brush your brows in the desired direction. Natalie used brow glue to fix my brow hairs upwards.

After brushing and separating my brows, a layer of cream is applied. This is essentially the part of the perm. Then she packed it up.

The great thing about brow lamination is that you get the thickness without having to take that microblading leap. Additionally, microblading can take 4-6 weeks but only takes an hour to 90 minutes for a full service!

Next comes the setting solution, which was a light blue color. Again, Natalie applied this plastic wrapped solution and left it on for 20 minutes.

After the fixative solution is wiped off, Natalie waxes my eyebrows to get rid of sparse hairs. Arts of Attraction includes wax in the feather brows.

I had about average pain tolerance. I was very surprised that I hardly felt my eyebrows being waxed.

I remember the day I got my brows waxed into oblivion. Oh, the stabbing pain I felt when the beautician snatched the wax from my skin. However, this eyebrow waxing experience was extremely painless for me and as of this writing I am still quite shocked about it.

What is eyebrow henna?

Henna Eyebrow is the process of filling in the gaps in your existing eyebrows, creating a fuller brow. It’s basically an eyebrow tint used to color the skin underneath your brow hairs.

While this is great for those who want fuller brows, it is not recommended for those who have little to no brows as henna works best in tandem with your true natural brow hairs.

The purpose of henna eyebrows is to create an illusion of depth and fullness by visually filling in any sparseness.

This process was extremely easy and pretty quick. A paste is applied through the shape of your eyebrows and absorbed into the skin for about 15 minutes.

When it comes to my brows, I usually fill them in with makeup myself. My brows are usually normal; not too thin or super thick. I went for full eyebrows with brow lamination + henna and am sooooo happy about it!

At night, I cleaned my face with toner, making sure to avoid my brow area. In addition, you should avoid touching your eyebrows (to prevent oils from being transferred from your fingers) and avoid applying harsh scrubs to the area for a few days afterwards.

Apparently I was living under a rock because before this month I knew absolutely nothing about brow lamination. Today I’m sharing all about those coveted feathery brows so you no longer have to sit on that cold bathroom countertop and pluck and wax your super curly brows… just to fill them in every day.

Brow Lamination: What is it, the process, the aftercare & the results

What is brow lamination?

Brow lamination, also known as feather brows, is a technique that helps correct eyebrow hairs that grow in different directions. It can create the illusion of almost twice as much hair.

It is a needle-free alternative to microblading. It’s basically a perm for your brows (without the harsh chemicals!) that tames unruly hairs and sets them in place for that on-trend fluffy combed-straight look.

My experience with eyebrow lamination

I’m sharing my brow lamination process that I received from Arts of Attraction in St. Petersburg, Florida. My service was performed by licensed tattoo artist and esthetician Natalie Sue.

While Arts of Attraction is a complete beauty and brow lounge offering everything from facials, eyelash extensions and tattoo removal; They are known for creating killer brows and one of the first in the United States to offer brow lamination.

As you can see there is a party at the beginning of my brows (thick) and none at the end of my brows.

Preparation for an eyebrow lamination

When preparing for brow lamination, you should make sure that you do not remove any hairs or shapes within 2 weeks. This allows your brow technician to shape and remove unwanted brow hairs.

In addition, you cannot get your brows wet for 24 hours after brow lamination as this may affect the connection. Therefore, I recommend keeping your makeup minimal on brewing day.

The first step of brow laminating is for the beautician to brush your brows in the desired direction. Natalie used brow glue to fix my brow hairs upwards.

After brushing and separating my brows, a layer of cream is applied. This is essentially the part of the perm. Then she packed it up.

The great thing about brow lamination is that you get the thickness without having to take that microblading leap. Additionally, microblading can take 4-6 weeks but only takes an hour to 90 minutes for a full service!

Next comes the setting solution, which was a light blue color. Again, Natalie applied this plastic wrapped solution and left it on for 20 minutes.

After the fixative solution is wiped off, Natalie waxes my eyebrows to get rid of sparse hairs. Arts of Attraction includes wax in the feather brows.

I had about average pain tolerance. I was very surprised that I hardly felt my eyebrows being waxed.

I remember the day I got my brows waxed into oblivion. Oh, the stabbing pain I felt when the beautician snatched the wax from my skin. However, this eyebrow waxing experience was extremely painless for me and as of this writing I am still quite shocked about it.

What is eyebrow henna?

Henna Eyebrow is the process of filling in the gaps in your existing eyebrows, creating a fuller brow. It’s basically an eyebrow tint used to color the skin underneath your brow hairs.

While this is great for those who want fuller brows, it is not recommended for those who have little to no brows as henna works best in tandem with your true natural brow hairs.

The purpose of henna eyebrows is to create an illusion of depth and fullness by visually filling in any sparseness.

This process was extremely easy and pretty quick. A paste is applied through the shape of your eyebrows and absorbed into the skin for about 15 minutes.

When it comes to my brows, I usually fill them in with makeup myself. My brows are usually normal; not too thin or super thick. I went for full eyebrows with brow lamination + henna and am sooooo happy about it!

Eyebrow lamination after grooming is relatively easy, with the most important step being to not get your eyebrows wet for at least 24 hours.

At night, I cleaned my face with toner, making sure to avoid my brow area. In addition, you should avoid touching your eyebrows (to prevent oils from being transferred from your fingers) and avoid applying harsh scrubs to the area for a few days afterwards.
