What is discord?

Discord is a free voice and text conversation program and digital distribution platform that runs on a variety of operating systems including Windows, Mac OS X, iOS and Android. It was launched on May 13, 2015 with the goal of building communities ranging from gamers to schools and businesses. Discord is a chat platform that allows users to communicate via text, image, video and voice. Discord is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, Linux and web browsers.

As of July 21, 2019, the program has around 250 million users. Jason Citron, the founder of OpenFeint, a social gaming platform for mobile games, came up with the idea for Discord. In 2011, he sold OpenFeint to GREE for $104 million, with whom he founded the game production company Hammer & Chisel in 2012. Fates Forever, Citron’s debut product, was released in 2014 and announced as the first MOBA game on mobile platforms, although it was not a financial success. Citron noted how difficult it was for his team to strategize in games like Final Fantasy XIV and League of Legends with accessible Voice over IP (VoIP) tools throughout the development process.

What does Discord Nitro do for gamers?

Users can get an animated avatar, use custom and/or animated emojis on all servers (non-Nitro users can only use custom emojis on the server they were added to), increase the maximum file size when uploading files (from 8 MB to 50MB), screen sharing in higher resolutions, choose your own personal identification number (from #0001 to #9999) and a unique profile badge for a monthly subscription fee of $4.99.

With the debut of the new Discord Nitro, which cost $9.99 and offered access to free games through the Discord game store, Discord Nitro was rebranded to Discord Nitro Classic in October 2018. Monthly subscribers to Discord Nitro Classic at the time the Discord Games Store launched received Discord Nitro, which lasted through January 1, 2020, and annual subscribers received Discord Nitro, which lasted through January 1, 2021.

There are no code generators for Discord Nitro! The techniques outlined in this article are currently the only legal ways to get Discord Nitro for free. You are exposing yourself to unnecessary danger by using alternative methods, so proceed with extreme caution!

YouTube Premium

YouTube and Discord have partnered to make Nitro available free for three months to Discord users who subscribe to YouTube Premium. Initially, only residents of Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Turkey and the United States are eligible to claim the three months of Nitro. If you signed up for YouTube’s three-month premium trial, you won’t be able to get the free Nitro.

You need to connect to your Discord account after clicking the link. If you think you’ve already signed in, make sure it’s your account. Discord Affiliate Program

Streamers have signed partnerships/deals with Twitch, YouTube and other sites. This type of affiliate agreement is also available on Discord. The affiliate programs on Discord are designed to recognize and reward the best communities on the platform. Free Discord Nitro is one of the perks that every affiliate gets. Becoming an affiliate is not easy as both you and your server have to meet certain requirements.

However, it’s not just about the number of people who have joined your community. Instead, Discord evaluates the server’s moderation, engagement, content quality, and a variety of other metrics. In any case, we encourage you to try your luck. Who knows, maybe your server will qualify for the affiliate program. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to convert your server to a community.

After that, you’ll find that numerous additional tabs have been unlocked under Community in the server settings. Two tabs are critical for you right now: Affiliate Program and Server Insights. You must have active Server Insights to be considered for a partnership.

Giveaways

Caution is usually a wise idea, but that doesn’t mean you should rule out all chances of getting Nitro Discord for free. There are servers that run giveaways and reward players with a variety of prizes, including nitro. However, keep in mind that finding such servers that provide authentic offers will be more difficult than it seems. Many servers will try to mingle with the real ones by making misleading claims. How do you delete Discord messages on both sides?

You cannot delete DMs on the other person’s side. So you can clear out your own Discord app but any DMs sent between you will remain on the other person’s app until they also delete them. There is no way for you to delete DMs on someone else’s Discord. Even if you were the one who sent them.

How to Delete Multiple Messages on Discord?

Can you delete all Discord DMs at once?

As part of our extensive Discord coverage, we look at common questions that can be found in our mailbox or in the comments. One that keeps coming up concerns direct messages within Discord. Mostly phrases like “Can you delete all Discord DMs at once?” or “Can you delete Discord DMs from both sides of the conversation?”

To play

Direct messaging on Discord works the same as it does on other social networks. A (mostly) private conversation between two or more people that doesn’t appear in a channel’s general text feed. They’re usually between individuals, but I know of a few small businesses that use Discord to chat between home workers and freelancers. A bit like Slack, only with more free features.

Direct messages are both good and bad. They are a medium that allows you to have fairly private conversations. It’s also a medium for people to say things they don’t normally say or mean. Or they can be used improperly. However you use Discord, it’s not always a good thing to hang around these types of messages.

Can you delete all Discord DMs?

Regardless of the reason, can you delete all your Discord direct messages? Yes you can, but it is a manual process and will take a while. You must delete each message individually, which may take some time.

on desktop:

Sign in to the Discord channel you used for DM.

From the left menu, select Friends and then select the friend you are chatting with.

Select a direct message from the list that appears under its name.

Select the three dots menu icon to the right of each message.

Select Delete to remove it and Delete again to confirm.

Repeat for each DM you want to delete.

on the phone:

Select the channel you used for DM.

Select the Friends icon at the top of the screen or just swipe left on the screen.

Long press on the username.

Select message.

Once you get into the chat box, long press on the message you want to delete and click “Delete Message”.

To my knowledge, bots cannot delete DMs, so this is a manual process. Bots are added at the server and channel level, while direct messages reside on individual applications. If you have extensive lists of DMs to delete, you better get comfortable!

Can you delete Discord DMs from both sides of the conversation?

There is one major caveat to deleting direct messages. You can only delete your side of the conversation. You can’t delete DMs on the other person’s page. So you can delete your own Discord app, but any DMs sent between you will remain in the other person’s app until they delete them as well.

There is no way to delete DMs on someone else’s Discord. Even if you were the one who sent them. This is a very important point for everyone who uses this and similar platforms. You may be able to remove the evidence from your side of the conversation, but the other person will always have theirs.

A copy is also saved on the Discord server. This isn’t accessible to any of the users, but it’s still a copy of the conversation. You might have to consider that too.

Use Discord responsibly

If you’re using Discord as an individual, it can be embarrassing to have DMs that you’re not particularly proud of or would rather not exist. If your organization uses Discord and there are DMs that you’d rather not exist, you might have more to worry about.

There is a basic rule of Discord and any online discourse, be it social media, texting, email or whatever. Always remember that what you say can and may be used against you. There will always be evidence of what you said, and that evidence can end up in the most unlikely of places.

That doesn’t mean you don’t use Discord or chat online. Nothing of the same. It just means keeping that risk in mind when chatting.

If you are using Discord within an organization, you also need to remember that there is always a copy of the DM on the Discord servers. Discord may never look at it or even know it’s there, but the evidence remains. If you do get caught up in something legal, it’s available for e-discovery if it ever comes up.

Do you know other ways to delete all Discord DMs? To remove them from the platform in bulk? Have you had issues with DMs being leaked or giving you problems? Tell us about your experiences below!

Does Discord delete messages after time?

Auto Delete

So if you have set 5m as your time, every message will be deleted after 5mins starting from the time you sent the message. To start the auto-deletion process, just open the channel in your Discord server that you want to delete messages in and type @AutoDelete start 24h.

How to Delete Multiple Messages on Discord?

Deleting messages in Discord is as simple as hovering over the message, clicking the three-dot menu icon in the pop-up window, and selecting the “Delete Message” option. Then click on the “Delete” button in the pop-up window to permanently delete the message. However, if you want to delete several based on certain criteria or all messages, you have to delete them one by one, which is not ideal. Instead, you can use Discord bots to delete messages in bulk and quickly.

things to consider

Bots can’t access your direct messages as it’s against the Discord Terms. So you can only use them to delete messages in the channels.

To delete messages in channels, you must be an admin of that server or your role must have permission to manage the server and messages.

These bots need to access your message history to delete them for you. So keep that in mind before proceeding.

Due to Discord API limitations, these bots cannot delete messages from the last 14 days. So all bots must abide by this rule. (But there is a workaround which we will share below)

However, here are Discord bots that you can use to delete messages in bulk.

Best Discord Bots for Deleting Messages

To add any bot to this list, just click the link below and select the Invite button on the right sidebar. Here, select the server you want to add the bot to and complete the authorization process to allow the bot to access your server. You have successfully added the bot and can start using commands to delete messages.

Read this article to learn more about adding the bots to the Discord server on desktop/mobile.

1. Cleanup command

This bot has a list of options to select and delete different types of messages like images, attachments, links, messages with mentions, messages from bots, etc.

All you have to do is type “.cleanup” as a prefix and enter the parameter based on which you want to delete messages. For example, to delete messages with links, type “.cleanup links” to delete all messages with links.

You can go one step further and type “.cleanup links youtube.com” to delete all messages with links to YouTube. Similarly, you can also try all these other parameters like images, attachments and text to delete messages with specific words, bots, clean, mentions, pinned and all.

Also, you can set time frames like 1d, 4h or something like 20h 30m 20s at the end of the command to delete all messages in that specific time frame. Or just type the command “.cleanup 15” all to delete the last 15 messages.

Finally, you can type “.cleanup all” to delete all messages under 14 days. If you try it a second time to delete the old messages, it will just say it can’t delete messages.

Add Command cleanup to your Discord server

2. Clean Chat

Clean Chat is another Discord bot that comes with a ton of features. Most notable, however, is deleting commands that trigger bots that are added to the server chat. Server admins use many commands to control all bots on a server, and soon the server will be filled with command line messages instead.

Clean Chat helps you delete messages with command lines, making the server cleaner and easier to read. To do this, simply enter the prefix @cleanchat addbot @BOTNAME of this bot.

The command can look confusing. Here is an example. We use a music bot called Rythm on our server. All users can control it with commands to play, pause, add to queue and skip music. To clear all these commands I can just type @cleanchat addbot @Rythm! (where ! is the prefix for the Rythm-Bot.)

This cannot delete old messages, but will delete all command line messages after you type the command.

To delete the bot messages just type @cleanchat deletebotmsg @BOTNAME True. Using Rythm as an example, you need to type @Cleanchat deletebotmsg @Rythm True.

Add Clean Chat to your Discord server

3. Automatic deletion

This is one of the minimalist Discord bots that deletes messages quickly and easily. As the name suggests, you can give a command with time parameter and all messages will be automatically deleted after that specific time. So if you set 5 minutes as the time, each message will be deleted after 5 minutes from the time you sent the message.

To start the auto delete process, just open the channel on your Discord server where you want to delete messages and type @AutoDelete start 24h. You can replace 24 hours with the time you may want to delete, e.g. E.g. 5 hours or 30 seconds etc.

However, remember that the maximum time parameter is one hour. So if you want to delete in days, you need to type @AutoDelete start 72h to delete after 3 days. To disable auto-delete, just reopen this channel and issue @AutoDelete set 0 command and that should stop the process.

Add Auto Delete to your Discord server

4.Mee6

Mee6 is a multifunctional bot that also happens to have a built-in delete function. But it works a bit differently than the Discord bots we shared earlier to delete channel messages using search parameters. All you have to do is enter the command !clear to clear the last 100 messages in the channel and !clear 500 to clear the last 500 messages. However, Mee6 only allows you to delete the last 1000 messages.

You can expand this and issue the !clear @username command to clear the last 100 messages from that specific user. So if you want to block someone and also delete his/her recent messages, this bot is for you.

Add Mee6 to your Discord server

5. Clearer Bot

While all Discord bots can only delete messages from the last 14 days at most, this bot can use a strange trick to delete all messages. It deletes the entire channel with all messages and creates a new channel with the same name, users and properties. It automatically grants permissions to that channel to the users who had access to the previous channel. This makes it easier to delete every message in that channel.

All you have to do is enter the n!nuke command and it will ask for confirmation. Just click the checkmark under the confirmation. Note that all messages will be deleted, everything.

It deletes the channel and starts a new one with a nuke message that you can delete.

You can also try n!clear to delete a certain number of messages, but you can only delete messages from the last 14 days.

Add Clearer Bot to your Discord server

Conclusion – Discord bots to delete messages

While there are several bots to choose from, each works a little differently. Command Cleanup deletes messages based on their type. Clean Chat deletes the bot messages and messages that trigger bots. Auto-delete provides the ability to delete future messages. While Mee6 is a multifunctional bot that can get the job done without re-installing a new bot for each function.

Does Discord keep deleted photos?

I found that Discord saves every image you’ve ever seen on your hard drive, even if it has been deleted. You need to use a cmd line to view these files, and there’s no way to remove them from within the client.

How to Delete Multiple Messages on Discord?

Discord, a voice and chat app for gamers, keeps users’ deleted information.

A YouTuber and programmer named Jamie Pine uploaded a video on Wednesday explaining how he discovered a cache of deleted pictures on his computer, and it quickly shot to the top of Reddit. Think of a cache as a junk drawer – invisible but full of forgotten and sometimes unwanted items.

I’ve found that Discord stores every picture you’ve ever seen on your hard drive, even if it’s deleted. You must use a cmd line to view these files and there is no way to remove them from the client. FULL VIDEO: https://t.co/32HYyf0U6M pic.twitter.com/nLFxkDK9vy — jamie (@jamiepine) February 14, 2019

In the video, Pine explains how other Discord users can find and view the images in their cache, but doesn’t find an option to delete them. “If someone sent me something that might be bad or illegal, it’s on my hard drive,” says Pine. In his own folder, Pine finds pictures from months ago. “I have a feeling a lot of you watching this will want to go in here and clear your cache just in case someone sent you something bad.”

He explains that the cached images don’t even have to have been sent directly to a user. “If you went into a discord that had a potentially bad image, it could be in this folder,” says Pine. He explains that after discovering the cache, he did a quick Google search to see what came up. All that could be found was a Reddit thread discussing a similar but different situation.

Most worrying was that Pine couldn’t find an option to clear the cache. After trying to clear the Discord cache on his computer, Pine found that opening Discord brought them all back. On top of that, a quick experiment with a friend showed that if the sender immediately deleted an image, he suspected it would remain in the recipient’s cache. The cached images must be viewed to be saved.

In several tweets following his video, Pine addressed some of the comments he received from viewers.

“God, you’re stupid because you don’t know what a cache is”. Yes, most people obviously don’t know, so I’m happy to show them why it could potentially be a bad thing on a platform where images are thrown around and deleted left and right, but all remain on your hard drive. — jamie (@jamiepine) February 14, 2019

“It’s not just Discord,” Pine explained. “Every app based on Chromium (Electron) does that, it’s just more relevant in the context of Discord and the kind of shit that happens there, where most people are part of big communities of all kinds of people.”

Someone could post child porn on a server with 10,000 people and get banned instantly, but now you might have hundreds of people who randomly opened this chat, maybe afk, now with child porn on their computer against their knowledge. — jamie (@jamiepine) February 14, 2019

How to Delete Multiple Messages on Discord?

Your Discord app saves images, GIFs, and videos to reduce loading times. While this is a handy feature on the surface, the process can consume too much memory over time. Therefore, users can quickly run out of disk space.

Luckily, Discord users can always clear their caches without much trouble. This can result in slower image load times, but you free up a lot of disk space. Read on to find out how the process works on most platforms.

How to clear cache in Discord on an iPhone

The good news is that iPhone users can clear their Discord cache. The bad news, however, is that you have to uninstall the app to do so. That’s because iOS doesn’t have a direct way to clear cache data on the fly.

Therefore, the only alternative is to uninstall Discord. This will clear the cache, but you’ll need to reinstall the app. This process is inevitable until Apple decides to implement a feature that allows users to manually clear cached data.

How to uninstall Discord from your iPhone:

Grab your iPhone and go to the settings menu.

Tap on “General”.

Go to “iPhone Storage”.

Scroll down and look for the Discord app.

Tap on it to open the details of the app. Select the “Delete App” option.

Select “Delete App” again to confirm your decision.

After the app is gone, your cache files will also be deleted. However, if you want to keep using Discord, you’ll need to reinstall the app from the App Store. Repeating this process many times can be time consuming, but unfortunately there are no alternatives at the moment.

How to clear cache in Discord on an Android

Luckily for Android device users, the operating system already allows users to clear Discord cache. The process also works for any app you install.

Although all Android mobile devices are different, you can follow a general pattern to clear your cache data. You should be able to easily find your settings menu by simply swiping down from the home screen or any page.

Here are the general steps to clear your Discord cache on Android:

On your Android device, locate your settings menu.

Look for the “Apps” option.

Find Discord in the list of installed apps. When you scroll down and find Discord, tap on it.

Locate and select the Storage section.

The option to clear cache data should be visible.

Tap on it and confirm your choice.

Since each smartphone manufacturer has its own operating system based on Android, the exact steps will likely be different. Despite this, the instructions above can work for practically all Android smartphones on the market.

For example, some mobile phones have an option to “Clear Cache” when you tap Discord’s information. Others have the button behind some other options. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with your phone’s controls before clearing your Discord cache on Android.

How to clear cache in Discord on Windows

If you use Discord in your browser, you don’t have to worry about clearing your caches. This section and the one for Mac are only useful for those downloading the desktop Discord client. As you install the Discord client, the software discreetly stores all the images, GIFS, and videos you come across while connecting with others online.

Although computers offer a lot of storage space compared to smartphones, some users cannot afford to store too many image files on their computers. A bloated PC can also slow down, which is not an ideal situation.

So if you want to clear your Discord cache on Windows, follow these instructions:

On your Windows PC, click the search bar on the taskbar or in Windows Explorer.

Type “%appdata%\discord” in the text box.

Press Enter to bring up the AppData folder.

Inside the Discord folder you will find folders named “Cache”, “Code Cache” and “GPUCache”.

Highlight all three folders.

Press the Delete key or right-click and choose Delete.

Go to your trash.

Empty it or permanently delete the folders manually.

If you don’t delete the folders, the disk space will still be occupied by the cache files. Only when you permanently delete them will the storage space be released. Running a cache cleaning once a month should free up a lot of space on your hard drive.

How to Clear Cache in Discord on Mac

The Discord client is also available on Mac, a testament to its popularity. Just like on Windows PCs, you can also find and safely delete the cache folders. If you don’t tamper with other files, your Discord client will run fine.

As with Windows, this does not apply to Discord users in the browser.

Here’s how the process works on a Mac:

On your Mac, open the Finder.

Click Go.

Select “Go to Folder”.

Type “~/Library/Application Support/discord/” into the text box.

In the Discord folder, look for the “Cache”, “Code Cache” and “GPUCache” folders.

Highlight them with your cursor.

Right-click and select “Move to Trash”.

Right-click the Trash icon in your Dock. Click “Empty Recycle Bin” to permanently delete the cache files.

As you can see, the process is incredibly similar to Windows.

Why clear my Discord cache?

The most compelling reason to clear your cache is to free up disk space. If you’ve been using Discord for a long time, chances are you’ve stored a lot of files as part of your cache. Smartphone users might find it a waste of storage space.

So if you share it, you can install more apps or even update your mobile games.

Another reason is that Discord stores every image you come across, even illegal content. If you accidentally watched disturbing and compromising media, you should clear your cache immediately. That way you won’t get into legal trouble if someone finds out about it.

Time for a purge

iPhone users aside, it should be easy for everyone to clear their Discord cache. The steps hardly take any time, a few minutes at most. Clearing your cache files not only frees up disk space but also removes unwanted media.

How To Delete Your DM History On Discord

When Discord was released, it changed the concept of instant messaging and group chats forever. A decade before it existed you might have been using AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger or the newer Skype – two of which are no longer in existence and the latter has suffered badly from Discord’s popularity.

Before Discord, we never knew what it would be like to have a messaging service permanently store our conversation history in the cloud. To save run logs locally to AIM or MSN you need some sort of third-party plugin. With Skype, text logs are now only kept in the cloud for 30 days.

Table of Contents

For some, capturing message history forever is a great thing. For others it is a nightmare. In January 2017, Discord outlined how they can store billions of messages in one blog post, and it seems like that policy isn’t going to change any time soon. Discord also does not offer users a way to bulk delete their DM history on Discord.

So what happens when you’ve sent thousands of direct messages and decide you no longer want them to exist forever? There are several solutions, but none of them are perfect.

Clear Discord DM history on Discord with hotkeys

The most intuitive way to delete a Discord message is through

Hover over it to reveal the hamburger menu icon on the right. Click on the icon. Select Delete. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button.

However, this requires consistent use of the mouse, which slows down the process tremendously. Therefore, you should know the sequence of keyboard shortcuts that mimic this technique.

Here’s a breakdown of the sequence:

Go into a Discord DM. Press up once to select your most recent message. Press up again to activate the editor. Press Ctrl + A to select all text in the box. Press Backspace to delete the text. Press Enter once to confirm the edit. Press Enter again to confirm deletion at the prompt.

This seems like a long and tedious process, but in practice you get into a rhythm and deleting each message only takes a second. It requires a lot less steady hand than constantly moving the cursor to different areas of the screen to click several different buttons.

Clear Discord DM history with AutoHotkey

Now that we’ve established that DMs can be deleted without using the mouse, it’s time to automate the process with a simple AutoHotkey script.

We’ve covered AutoHotkey in the past, such as: Check out our HelpDeskGeek article on five of the most useful AutoHotkey scripts, and installing the application is free and only takes a minute. However, this option is only available to Windows users as AutoHotkey does not currently work on macOS.

Ideally, you want the following things from your AutoHotkey script:

A toggle button to turn on and off. The full keyboard sequence with pauses between each step. A way to continuously load previous messages

Here is an example script I wrote:

F1::

Toggle := !Toggle

Ribbon {

if not switch

interruption

if WinExist(“ahk_exe discord.exe”)

WinActivate

SendInput {Top}

100 sleep

SendInput {Top}

100 sleep

SendInput ^a

100 sleep

SendInput {backspace}

100 sleep

SendInput {Enter}

100 sleep

SendInput {Enter}

100 sleep

SendInput {WheelUp}

200 sleep

}

return

This script uses the F1 key as a toggle to enable or disable message deletion. For this to work, you must already be in an active DM window before activating the script. The pauses (sleep) between each key press are such that machines with less processing power do not overtake and skip a key. If you find that this script is running but behaving strangely, try increasing the value of each sleep in increments of 50.

However, this script has one caveat, which is that it breaks when reaching a Discord call message. This is what they look like:

When you reach one of these messages, you will be prevented from pressing the up key to select your previous messages before it. However, there may be improvements to the script that allow for a workaround for this.

Clear Discord DM history with bots

First, let’s be clear that we’re not going to provide instructions on using a Discord bot to clear your DM history, but we’re letting readers know that it is possible.

For the past few years, Discord has discouraged the use of self-bots, outright calling them a violation of its terms.

Thanks for the warning. We do not endorse the use of self-bots and strongly advise users not to use them. — Discord (@discordapp) April 10, 2017

However, using self-bots risks terminating your account, so we don’t recommend it. However, many users report that using self-bots for purposes that are non-public, disruptive, or harmful has never resulted in a reprimand from Discord. Make a decision at your own discretion.

A self-bot is simply a user account running on a Discord API token. Today, Discord requires bots to be tracked and tagged through its developer portal. A self-bot bypasses this and gives a standard user account access to API requests, which can automate a variety of tasks. Deleting messages is one of them.

The Discord API currently supports a POST request that triggers a Message Delete Bulk Gateway event, allowing bots to quickly delete any message less than two weeks old. Older messages can be queued and individually deleted (if rate limited).

Since Discord seems content to save our messages forever, it’s up to us to find solutions to delete them en masse and preserve our privacy. The above three options are all a bit inferior, but it’s the best we have until Discord comes up with a solution.

How to Delete Multiple Messages on Discord?

Discord is a free VoIP application and digital distribution platform built for gaming. It allows users to communicate with each other by sending audio, video and text messages through one channel. The application is available on almost all operating systems and has more than 250 million users. In this article, we will show you the most convenient ways to bulk delete messages on Discord.

How do I delete messages on Discord?

Discord does not offer users a convenient way to delete many messages together. Even deleting a single message isn’t as quick, as users are asked for confirmation after pressing delete. In the following steps, we share with you some workarounds for this situation, which can help you delete many messages at once.

1. Using AutoHotKey to Delete Discord Messages

This method should work for all users, in this method we will use the autohotkey script to bulk delete a few messages for us with minimal effort. For this:

Click here to download the AutoHotKey installer. Click on the executable to install it on your computer.

Note: Choose express installation when prompted. Navigate to your desktop, right-click anywhere and choose New. Select “AutoHotkey Script” and a new script will be created on your desktop. Right-click the created script and select Edit Script. Delete all text already in the script. Copy and paste the following text into the script. t::Loop, 100000 { send, {Up} send, ^a send, {BS} send, {Enter} send, {Enter} sleep, 100 } Return Save the changes and close the script. Open Discord and double click on the saved script to load it. Open the chat you want to delete and press “T” on your keyboard. This will automatically delete the messages quickly. You can right-click the “H” on the right side of the taskbar and select “Stop Script” to stop deleting the messages.

2. Using Tampermokey to Delete Discord Messages (Advanced)

This process is a bit difficult but it is the most effective method. In this method, we will use Discord in browser and a browser extension called “Tampermonkey” to delete Discord direct messages. Follow the steps below to delete Discord DMs:

Note: Remember that we are not responsible if Discord bans your account after using a script to delete your messages.

Download the Tampermonkey expansion. Just select the browser and click the Download button. Once the extension is installer, go to this link (here) and then click the Install button to download the script.

After the script has downloaded, click the extension and then click Create New Script. Once the new script page opens, press “Ctrl + A” and then click the backspace key to delete all content in the new script. Now drag and drop the script you just downloaded onto the new script page. Now click on “File” and then on “Save”. Make sure the script is enabled, once the script is done open the discord in your browser. Once the Discord browser is open, there should be a delete message button at the top. Now just go to the Discord DMs that you want to delete and then click on the “Delete” button at the top. For Authorization, Guild/Channel, and Author ID, click Retrieve. Then select the message range that you want to delete by specifying the date and time. Once that is done, click on the “Start” button to start removing the messages. (This should take a while).

3. Using MEE6 bot to delete discord server messages

This method only works if you are the moderator of the channel or server, so you need to take that into account. In this step, we’ll use the MEE6 bot to automatically delete messages for us. For this:
