limitations
You can rotate any video that you have filmed and downloaded to your phone. Videos downloaded from the Internet cannot be rotated. The video needs to be saved to your phone and then uploaded to Google Photos to adjust properly.
When rotating a video, rotate the orientation. If you took a video in portrait mode and then tilted the phone to landscape mode, you can rotate it properly. However, if you shot the video in portrait mode and it was shot that way, instead of changing the orientation, the video will be flipped so that it’s sideways.
You cannot change the orientation of a video from your phone. Instead, you need movie editing software like iMovie for Mac or Windows Movie Maker. These programs rotate a video and change its orientation to make it look the way you want it to.
Other options
While the easiest option for rotating photos is Google Photos, other apps can rotate videos. However, most of these apps contain ads, require you to pay for their services, or have usability issues. Two top video rotation apps are Rotate Video FX and Smart Video Rotate and Flip.

Another app for recording videos from both cameras is Dual Camera. This is an easy-to-use app that can take photos and videos simultaneously using the front and back cameras. This app also has a limitation as it may not run on phones with chipsets other than Snapdragon.
How to use this app:

How to Flip Camera While Recording Videos on Android, iPhone
Gone are the days when recording a video was a big task. Forget videos, even taking pictures was a hassle. Thanks to ever-increasing technology, we can now take professional photos and videos so easily, and right from our phones too.
However, there is one area where we have not been able to make any progress. I’m talking about the possibility of using both cameras, front and rear, at the same time to record videos. In fact, you can’t even turn the camera around while recording.
Many phones allow you to take two pictures, where the images are captured simultaneously by the front and rear cameras. However, you cannot switch cameras while recording a video on both Android and iPhone.
The matter
Once a person starts recording a video, there’s basically no way to flip the camera while you’re still recording. So if you want a feature like this, the social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat can come to your rescue.
However, since these apps are limited to only record 15-20 seconds of video at a time, you need to record multiple videos.
The trick involves two main steps: create multiple videos using social media apps and then merge them using video joiner apps.
In this post, we have provided detailed instructions on how to create such videos.
Create videos with social apps
Since the native camera app doesn’t support flip, you can use apps like Instagram, Facebook Messenger, or Snapchat to rotate the camera while recording. Here are the steps.
Method 1: Using Instagram
Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your Android device or iPhone. Tap the camera icon in the top left corner to go to the story screen.
Step 2: Tap on the Story option to enter Story mode.
Step 3: If you are an iPhone user, now press and hold the camera icon and start recording your video. To rotate the camera, double-tap anywhere on the screen with your other hand while holding the camera icon.
Flipping the camera doesn’t work in normal story mode on Android devices. You must use hands-free mode to record your video. So once you are on the Story Mode screen, expand the options on the left. You will find handsfree. Tap on it. Press the record button to start recording the video.
When recording, double-tap anywhere on the screen to switch cameras. You can use hands-free mode to rotate the camera on iPhones too.
Step 4: After recording the video, tap on the Save button to save the video to your device.
Step 5: Since Instagram only supports 15-second videos in Stories, if you want a longer video, you need to record multiple videos. I know, I know. It is too much. But something is better than nothing.
Once you have all the videos, you need to merge them. The way to do this is given according to the Snapchat method.
Method 2: Using Snapchat
To record videos with your face and smartphone screen for tutorials, use the screen recording apps like AZ Screen Recorder and DU Screen Recorder
Similar to Instagram, you can also use Snapchat to flip the camera while recording. The steps are the same for both iPhone and Android.
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app and press and hold the camera icon to start recording video.
Step 2: While recording, double tap anywhere on the screen to rotate the camera (again with the other hand).
Step 3: After recording the video, tap on the Save button to download the video to your phone. Again, you’ll need to record multiple videos if you want a longer video.
Method 3: Use Facebook Messenger
Open any chat in the Facebook Messenger app. Tap the camera icon at the bottom.
On Android, go to the Video option. Press the record icon to start recording. Then double-tap anywhere on the screen to flip the camera. When you’re done recording, tap the save icon to download the video.
On iPhone, press and hold the record icon to start recording. Double-tap the screen to flip the camera. When done, tap the save icon.

Join or merge videos

Join videos on Android
In case you want to cut the videos first, you can check the video cutter apps on Android. To merge videos, you need to download a third-party video editing app that supports merging.

AndroVid – Video Editor

Join videos on iPhone
Other Android apps also allow you to change video speed and stabilize the videos
Also on iPhone, you need to download a video joiner app to merge videos. One of the apps that you can use on your iPhone to join videos is Video Joiner & Trimmer. Check out our other list of apps to help you merge videos on your iPhone.
