One of the main reasons I don’t “buy all Lululemon” is because I’ve had a consistent experience with pills.

No matter what I do, my lululemon Align leggings pill in between and sometimes on the front and back of my thighs. It’s unsightly, itchy, and quite annoying considering I paid over $100 for it.

My thighs rub against each other 24/7. This promotion is endearingly nicknamed “Chub Rub”. It doesn’t matter if you’re thin or fat, chub rub can happen to anyone.

Fabric Feel Fabric is silky soft to the touch and stretches more than other Lululemon fabrics. People have downsized in Nulux products. I order my Nulu in my true size. does it have pill Nulux does NOT pill. I’ve worn my Nulux more than 10 times and I haven’t had any pilling experience yet. Description Silverescent® is a soft, mesh-quality knit fabric that doesn’t stink thanks to X-STATIC technology. Fabric Feel Comes in 2-way and 4-way stretch. Feels light yet sturdy and thin. Swift reminds me of raincoat fabrics without the waterproof properties. does it have pill Silverescent® fabric pills where it rubs against fabric or skin. I’ve seen pilling under my armpits, mostly with silver colored fabric. Products made of this fabric are quickly short- and long-sleeved

Herringbone: Pills like crazy! I’ve had my fishbones for 3 years and they pill as soon as I start walking around in them. The pilling can be easily removed with an electric razor and the leggings are said to be made of Luon. They’re also thick enough that shaving and pilling won’t thin the fabric. Pique: This fabric resembles the herringbone pattern but is slightly thinner. The fabric has a more compressive fit than herringbone and doesn’t pill as much. Pilling can also be removed with an electric razor.

How to remove pilling from leggings

#1 With an electric fabric razor

This is our favorite way to remove pilling from my gym wear. We use a corded electric shaver so we don’t have to buy batteries.

If you want it completely wireless, we recommend the rechargeable cloth shaver from Magictec. It’s compact, USB rechargeable, and highly rated on Amazon.

When using an electric fabric razor, keep the pressure of the razor light against the fabric to avoid creating a hole in the fabric.

It should take less than a minute for your leggings to feel like new again (see image below).

#2 With a disposable razor

I haven’t tried this method but it seems to work. Keep a disposable razor handy to remove pilling if it occurs.

I would keep it in one area with all my sewing and knitting tools. Also, consider using it on other garments that pill, like sweaters and shirts.

“We don’t save 50%, 60%, or 70% when shopping for Lululemon sales,” says Demer. “Really, 20% is pretty exciting, 30% is really exciting, and if you’re expecting 40% off, you better be at a Lululemon store.”

If you’re looking for savings, it’s best to prioritize based on what you can reasonably expect. For example, the hardest thing to save on at Lululemon is black tights. It’s generally easier to save on tops, accessories, or anything that’s patterned.

“If you’re looking for black tights, you might not want to wait forever for a sale,” says Demer. “But if you see a floral print you love, chances are that item will go on sale while stocks last.”

The Secret of “Fee Shipping”

The Lululemon Shopping Sale has an open secret you can take advantage of: the Charge Send.

Charge shipping is essentially placing an order over the phone, and it’s handy if you find an item for sale in the store that you want but isn’t in your size. You can use the Lululemon app to check availability anywhere else in the country, then call that store and buy it over the phone.

Every Lululemon location ships products to you for free, and you even get the free bag that only comes with in-store purchases, which you don’t get when you shop online.

When to look for savings online

When you’re looking for the best Lululemon deals online, planning your week is key. The retailer brings new goods online around 6:15 p.m. EST every Tuesday. And when it comes to new sale items, discounts are announced every Thursday morning, typically between 10:00 am EST and 11:00 am EST.

If you can’t make it to the sale yourself, you can still reap the benefits by checking eBay right after the sale. Despite the fact that Lululemon limits clearance sale buyers to 25 items to discourage resellers, there’s still a noticeable surge of new Lululemon gear – and great prices – on the auction site this time.

The Employee Discount Hack

Despite all of these great ways to save on Lululemon merchandise, the absolute biggest discount can’t be beat – the employee discount. Lululemon employees enjoy a 60% discount, but to take advantage of this, you would need to find a job there. However, you must work 25+ hours per week to qualify, so this option is really only for those who are genuinely committed to maximizing their Lululemon savings.

So, how ethical is Lululemon? Based on information from our research, we’ve given Lululemon an overall rating of “Not Good Enough”. When it comes to labour, we’re glad to see some level of transparency in the supply chain, but it still falls short.

Is Lululemon as committed to active sustainability as it claims? How ethical is Lululemon really? Unfortunately, calling Lululemon ethical is a bit of an exaggeration, and we rate the brand as “not good enough.” This article is based on the Lululemon Rating published in January 2022.

Is Lululemon Ethical or Sustainable? That’s a bit of a stretch

Lululemon is a premium activewear chain offering yoga-inspired sportswear for most sweat-inducing activities. While the brand claims to be committed to sustainable practices, is Lululemon really showing its best for people, planet and animals? Or is it a s-t-r-e-t-c-h to call it ethical? Read on to find out how its effects really work as we answer the question: How ethical is Lululemon?

Ecological damage

Lululemon claims sustainability as one of its core principles, but its environmental impact is “not good enough”.

Lululemon uses only a few eco-friendly materials, including recycled materials. Although the company has set a science-based goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations and supply chain by 60% by 2030, it’s unclear if it’s on track to meet that goal. There is no evidence that it has taken any meaningful steps to reduce or eliminate hazardous chemicals, nor that there are any water reduction policies or initiatives.

In the sustainability section of its website, Lululemon talks about ways to improve environmental impact. While this is positive, it does not reflect any meaningful action. For a global brand like Lululemon, there’s no excuse not to do its bit for the environment.

In terms of workers, Lululemon falls behind again with a Not Good Enough rating. It lays out some policies to protect suppliers and workers in its supply chain from the effects of COVID-19, but the good news ends there.

Lululemon’s supply chain is not certified by labor standards that ensure worker health and safety, living wages, or other labor rights. There is no evidence the brand is implementing practices to support diversity and inclusion in its supply chain, and it has made little to no progress towards paying a living wage. It received a score of 41-50% on the Fashion Transparency Index, and to top it off, it sources its final stage of production from countries at extreme risk of labor abuse. It has also been linked to the sourcing of cotton from the Xinjiang region of China, which is at risk of using Uighur forced labourers, and insufficient steps have been taken to remedy it.

Lululemon’s score for animals is “It’s a Start.” Although it does not use fur, angora, leather or exotic animal skins, there is no evidence that there is any policy to minimize animal suffering. Down certified by the Responsible Down Standard is used, which is a plus, but wool and exotic animal hair are also used. It traces some animal products to the first stage of production.

Overall verdict: not good enough

So how ethical is Lululemon? Based on information from our research, we gave Lululemon an overall rating of Not Good Enough. When it comes to labour, we welcome a certain level of transparency in the supply chain, but it is still insufficient. Not being paid a living wage to the brand’s employees is simply not good enough to be considered truly ethical behavior. On the environmental front, we wish for less talk and more action.

Lululemon gives you 30 days from the date of purchase to return an item for a full refund.

If you order online, you have 30 days from the actual delivery date.

Can clothes be worn?

They require the item to be unworn, unwashed and still have tags attached.

From what I’ve heard, if you have removed the tags and worn the item and later discover a manufacturing defect, your mileage may vary slightly.

In this case you have a good chance of getting your money back or at least an “equal exchange”.

What if I lost my receipt?

If you’ve misplaced your receipt, you should still be able to make a return… in most cases.

In particular, if you gave them your phone number when paying at the STORE, they can view your transaction history.

I asked a Lululemon live chat rep what happens if you don’t give the rep your phone number…can you still make a return without a receipt?

I was told that it is “at the discretion of the store whether they are willing to return for credit. Every time you have bought something in the store, you will be asked for your phone number. This would lead to your profile.”

So get in the habit of being “okay” with giving them your phone number as it will make the return process that much easier.

What is a Fast Track return?

A Fast Track return occurs when you receive credit within 2 hours of dropping off your return at a FedEx or USPS location.

Only returns of 3 or fewer items will be eligible, and you will receive a refund via a Lululemon e-gift card to your email inbox.

The E-Gift Card is the ONLY return option available with Fast Track and it can be used in store or online and NEVER expires.

How can I increase my chances of being accepted to pay later in 3 interest-free installments?

Klarna is unique and offers Pay later in 3 interest-free installments based on a number of factors such as order value, previous order history and item availability. If you are 18 years or older you can improve your chances of being offered Pay later in 3 interest free installments by ensuring you provide your full name and accurate address details and shipping to your registered billing address. All orders are valued individually. Just because you’ve previously been accepted for Pay later in 3 interest-free installments doesn’t mean it’s offered for every order. Again, if your request for payment in 3 interest-free installments is subsequently declined, this does not mean that it will be declined for all future orders.

How does the payment plan work?

The first payment will be taken from your debit or credit card when the merchant confirms your order. The two remaining payments will also be taken from your card 30 and 60 days after the first payment. What if I can’t pay a Klarna installment?

If the automatic payment fails, Klarna will try again after 7 days. If this payment also fails, Klarna will make another attempt after a further 7 days (14 days after the date of the first attempt).

Failure to pay on time may result in your debt being passed on to a collection agency and affect Klarna’s future credit decisions.

What happens if I don’t pay for my order?

Klarna will automatically attempt to collect payment for your Pay later in 3 interest free installment purchase at lululemon from the debit or credit card you provided at checkout. If we are unable to collect your payment by the scheduled due date, Klarna will make two more attempts to automatically collect payment, one 7 days after missed payment and one 14 days after missed payment. Will Brexit impact my order?

Our Distribution Centre is located in the Netherlands. As the Brexit transition agreement between the UK and EU ends on 31 December 2020, there may be increased transit times between the EU and the UK from 1 January 2021, so please allow additional time for your order to arrive. We are working hard with UPS to minimise any delays and you will be able to follow your delivery via the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email.
