Please be patient during this difficult time. Added to this is lululemon’s promise of quality, which extends to all items, even if they are sale items. The lululemon quality promise guarantees that its products will work for at least 5 years.

Now they’ve ruled out their popular Align leggings because they’re so fragile. You can always try to return them. You never know if you’re going to get a forgiving sales rep.

What about sale items?

All sale items, often referred to as “We Made Too Much” or WMTM, are FINAL SALE.

Under Australian Consumer Law, defective products entitle a customer to a refund or exchange.

Ultimately, lululemon will replace any faulty item in any country.

How does the lululemon guarantee work?

However, the lululemon guarantee applies to all products, including WMTM goods.

Guarantees are granted on a case-by-case basis. lululemon will normally attempt to repair your product prior to refund or exchange. They do this by outsourcing to seamstresses who can fix seams, buttons, zippers, etc.

If a product can’t be repaired, you’ll receive a refund, a gift card for current value, or exchange your item in-store for something new.

The period within which lululemon is willing to honor its product warranties can range from 2 to 5 years.

It depends on the educator or GEC representative you are interacting with and whether the product you are bringing in is damaged due to normal wear and tear OR whether it is actually a manufacturing issue.

If the damage is due to normal wear and tear, they most likely will not honor their quality guarantee.

What does a Lululemon repair look like?

The repaired seam will never look like the original and in some cases even worse! If the stitching is visible anywhere and looks awful, I recommend speaking to a manager and getting a refund or a replacement pair.

One of the main reasons I don’t “buy all Lululemon” is because I’ve had a consistent experience with pills.

No matter what I do, my lululemon Align leggings pill in between and sometimes on the front and back of my thighs. It’s unsightly, itchy, and quite annoying considering I paid over $100 for it.

My thighs rub against each other 24/7. This promotion is endearingly nicknamed “Chub Rub”. It doesn’t matter if you’re thin or fat, chub rub can happen to anyone.

This could be because of your size or because your bones are aligned in an odd way.

Even when I was 15 pounds lighter, I still had chub rubs. Chub friction is the main cause of pilling.

Other causes include regular wear and tear, overuse, and brushing against abrasive surfaces such as stone, cement, velcro, or brick.

Herringbone: Pills like crazy! I’ve had my fishbones for 3 years and they pill as soon as I start walking around in them. The pilling can be easily removed with an electric razor and the leggings are said to be made of Luon. They’re also thick enough that shaving and pilling won’t thin the fabric. Pique: This fabric resembles the herringbone pattern but is slightly thinner. The fabric has a more compressive fit than herringbone and doesn’t pill as much. Pilling can also be removed with an electric razor.

How to remove pilling from leggings

#1 With an electric fabric razor

This is our favorite way to remove pilling from my gym wear. We use a corded electric shaver so we don’t have to buy batteries.

If you want it completely wireless, we recommend the rechargeable cloth shaver from Magictec. It’s compact, USB rechargeable, and highly rated on Amazon.

When using an electric fabric razor, keep the pressure of the razor light against the fabric to avoid creating a hole in the fabric.

It should take less than a minute for your leggings to feel like new again (see image below).

#2 With a disposable razor

I haven’t tried this method but it seems to work. Keep a disposable razor handy to remove pilling if it occurs.

I would keep it in one area with all my sewing and knitting tools. Also, consider using it on other garments that pill, like sweaters and shirts.

Everyone’s favorite high-end fitness brand, Lululemon, had a great 2018, according to the company’s earnings report on Wednesday. The brand beat expectations for revenue and earnings per share, sending its stock up 9%. The brand’s same-store sales rose 16% in the fourth quarter of 2018.

With business booming, don’t expect to see a glut of deals from Lululemon. So how can a savvy shopper find savings and still enjoy the popular yoga and athleisure brand? Joanie Demer from The Krazy Coupon Lady shares some tips on how to save when you shop in-store and online.

Looking for discounts

“We don’t save 50%, 60%, or 70% when shopping for Lululemon sales,” says Demer. “Really, 20% is pretty exciting, 30% is really exciting, and if you’re expecting 40% off, you better be at a Lululemon store.”

If you’re looking for savings, it’s best to prioritize based on what you can reasonably expect. For example, the hardest thing to save on at Lululemon is black tights. It’s generally easier to save on tops, accessories, or anything that’s patterned.

“If you’re looking for black tights, you might not want to wait forever for a sale,” says Demer. “But if you see a floral print you love, chances are that item will go on sale while stocks last.”

The Secret of “Fee Shipping”

The Lululemon Shopping Sale has an open secret you can take advantage of: the Charge Send.

Charge shipping is essentially placing an order over the phone, and it’s handy if you find an item for sale in the store that you want but isn’t in your size. You can use the Lululemon app to check availability anywhere else in the country, then call that store and buy it over the phone.

Every Lululemon location ships products to you for free, and you even get the free bag that only comes with in-store purchases, which you don’t get when you shop online.

When to look for savings online

When you’re looking for the best Lululemon deals online, planning your week is key. The retailer brings new goods online around 6:15 p.m. EST every Tuesday. And when it comes to new sale items, discounts are announced every Thursday morning, typically between 10:00 am EST and 11:00 am EST.

By far the holy grail of Lululemon sales is the warehouse sale, which usually takes place once a year in the spring in a rotating US city. The event attracts tens of thousands of shoppers in pursuit of some of the retailer’s biggest discounts.

“Women are actually planning trips around this sale, that’s how big the business is,” says Demer. “It’s worth the hype. The savings are over 50%.”

In addition to reduced prices, shoppers can expect further savings as storekeepers introduce increased savings at random to keep the crowds moving during the sale.

“They’re actually going to randomly call, you know, an extra 10% discount for anyone who checks out in the next 15 minutes,” says Demer.

If you can’t make it to the sale yourself, you can still reap the benefits by checking eBay right after the sale. Despite the fact that Lululemon limits clearance sale buyers to 25 items to discourage resellers, there’s still a noticeable surge of new Lululemon gear – and great prices – on the auction site this time.

The Employee Discount Hack

Despite all of these great ways to save on Lululemon merchandise, the absolute biggest discount can’t be beat – the employee discount. Lululemon employees enjoy a 60% discount, but to take advantage of this, you would need to find a job there. However, you must work 25+ hours per week to qualify, so this option is really only for those who are genuinely committed to maximizing their Lululemon savings.

Or, Demer says, “You know, just befriend someone who works there.”

The brand sources this fabric from a single manufacturer.

Lululemon manufacturers are distributed in over 26 countries worldwide. Some countries that help the brand meet its production needs are Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan and Haiti. South Asia accounts for a significant portion of manufacturers. Part of the production is also taken over in China and North America. North American Lululemon suppliers are helping the brand keep up the pace. The most important thing for any brand is to keep up with trends, and with this manufacturer, Lululemon achieves just that.

For distribution, Lululemon has four distributors, one each in Vancouver, Summer, Melbourne and Columbus. The newest is in Columbus. The brand has always believed in the power of quality over quantity, which works well for their target audience. The fact remains that Lululemon is growing as a brand by the day, and that success doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.

Is Lululemon as committed to active sustainability as it claims? How ethical is Lululemon really? Unfortunately, calling Lululemon ethical is a bit of an exaggeration, and we rate the brand as “not good enough.” This article is based on the Lululemon Rating published in January 2022.

Is Lululemon Ethical or Sustainable? That’s a bit of a stretch

Lululemon is a premium activewear chain offering yoga-inspired sportswear for most sweat-inducing activities. While the brand claims to be committed to sustainable practices, is Lululemon really showing its best for people, planet and animals? Or is it a s-t-r-e-t-c-h to call it ethical? Read on to find out how its effects really work as we answer the question: How ethical is Lululemon?

Ecological damage

Lululemon claims sustainability as one of its core principles, but its environmental impact is “not good enough”.

Lululemon uses only a few eco-friendly materials, including recycled materials. Although the company has set a science-based goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations and supply chain by 60% by 2030, it’s unclear if it’s on track to meet that goal. There is no evidence that it has taken any meaningful steps to reduce or eliminate hazardous chemicals, nor that there are any water reduction policies or initiatives.

In the sustainability section of its website, Lululemon talks about ways to improve environmental impact. While this is positive, it does not reflect any meaningful action. For a global brand like Lululemon, there’s no excuse not to do its bit for the environment.

In terms of workers, Lululemon falls behind again with a Not Good Enough rating. It lays out some policies to protect suppliers and workers in its supply chain from the effects of COVID-19, but the good news ends there.

Lululemon’s supply chain is not certified by labor standards that ensure worker health and safety, living wages, or other labor rights. There is no evidence the brand is implementing practices to support diversity and inclusion in its supply chain, and it has made little to no progress towards paying a living wage. It received a score of 41-50% on the Fashion Transparency Index, and to top it off, it sources its final stage of production from countries at extreme risk of labor abuse. It has also been linked to the sourcing of cotton from the Xinjiang region of China, which is at risk of using Uighur forced labourers, and insufficient steps have been taken to remedy it.

Lululemon’s score for animals is “It’s a Start.” Although it does not use fur, angora, leather or exotic animal skins, there is no evidence that there is any policy to minimize animal suffering. Down certified by the Responsible Down Standard is used, which is a plus, but wool and exotic animal hair are also used. It traces some animal products to the first stage of production.

Overall verdict: not good enough

So how ethical is Lululemon? Based on information from our research, we gave Lululemon an overall rating of Not Good Enough. When it comes to labour, we welcome a certain level of transparency in the supply chain, but it is still insufficient. Not being paid a living wage to the brand’s employees is simply not good enough to be considered truly ethical behavior. On the environmental front, we wish for less talk and more action.

Just because I’m a guy who would never pay $68 for a shirt doesn’t mean I don’t have an appeal to shop at lululemon Atheltica. If the quality is as good as people say and the clothes are super comfortable, then maybe it’s worth the money. But in any case, you’re probably here because for one reason or another you need to take advantage of Lululemon’s return policy and have questions that need answers. How many return days does Lululemon offer?

30 days.

Lululemon gives you 30 days from the date of purchase to return an item for a full refund.

If you order online, you have 30 days from the actual delivery date.

Can clothes be worn?

They require the item to be unworn, unwashed and still have tags attached.

From what I’ve heard, if you have removed the tags and worn the item and later discover a manufacturing defect, your mileage may vary slightly.

In this case you have a good chance of getting your money back or at least an “equal exchange”.

What if I lost my receipt?

If you’ve misplaced your receipt, you should still be able to make a return… in most cases.

In particular, if you gave them your phone number when paying at the STORE, they can view your transaction history.

I asked a Lululemon live chat rep what happens if you don’t give the rep your phone number…can you still make a return without a receipt?

I was told that it is “at the discretion of the store whether they are willing to return for credit. Every time you have bought something in the store, you will be asked for your phone number. This would lead to your profile.”

So get in the habit of being “okay” with giving them your phone number as it will make the return process that much easier.

If you make an online purchase, you can access your order history and online billing in your online Lululemon account.

Are items of clothing excluded from the policy?

Only final sale items are excluded from your 30 day return policy.

The chat rep I spoke to said that all “depreciated items” are considered final sales and cannot be returned.

So if you buy something from Lululemon that isn’t being sold at full price, apparently you CANNOT return it.

That seems crazy! Is that right? Does anyone know the real truth?

Before you ask…they will accept a return of swimwear as long as the sanitary pad is still in place.

It’s also worth noting that gift cards and We’ve Made Too Much items also count as final sales.

What is a Fast Track return?

A Fast Track return occurs when you receive credit within 2 hours of dropping off your return at a FedEx or USPS location.

Only returns of 3 or fewer items will be eligible, and you will receive a refund via a Lululemon e-gift card to your email inbox.

The E-Gift Card is the ONLY return option available with Fast Track and it can be used in store or online and NEVER expires.

When you log into your Lululemon account, you’ll see the Fast Track Return option if you’re eligible for this “quick money return.”
