Walk around the parking lot of the average grocery store and I’d bet you’ll find that as many as 10% of all cars, trucks, and SUVs have auto paint fading. Whether it’s from overexposure to UV sunlight or a cheap, factory applied one-step paint finish, vehicles today are more prone to exterior paint fading than in years past.

So how can we fix this growing problem?

Well, it all depends on the severity of the paint damage, the type of paint applied, and a few other factors. It also depends on the type of damage caused.

For example, if the paint on your everyday vehicle is peeling, you’re pretty screwed. However, if it’s lost just a little of its luster and shine, that can be fixed fairly easily with a rubbing paste such as Meguiar products or other brands.

What causes car paint to fade?

Step 1 – Gather the materials for repairing faded car paint
