Feast of Inauguration[ edit ]

The Feast of Initiation, now Hanukkah, formerly known as the Feast of the Maccabees, is a Jewish festival lasting eight days beginning on the 25th. founded. by Judas Maccabeeus, his brethren, and the elders of the congregation of Israel to commemorate the rededication of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, and particularly the altar of burnt offerings, after they were killed during the persecution under Antiochus Epiphanes (168 BC). The main events of the festival were the lighting of houses and synagogues, a custom probably borrowed from the Feast of Tabernacles, and the recitation of Psalm 30:1–12. According to 2 Chronicles, the dedication of Solomon’s Temple took place the week before the Feast of Tabernacles.[2] J. Wellhausen, an anti-Semitic theologian, suggests that the festival was originally associated with the winter solstice and only afterwards with the events recounted in Maccabees.

The Feast of Dedication is also mentioned at John 10:22, where the author mentions that Jesus was in the Jerusalem Temple during the “Feast of Dedication” and further notes “and it was winter.” The Greek term used by John is “the renewals” (Greek τὰ ἐγκαίνια, ta enkainia).[4] Josephus refers to the festival in Greek simply as “lights.”[5]

Dedication of churches[ edit ]

This passage is an excerpt from Church Consecration Caeremoniale Episcoporum, Chapters IX-X, and in the Roman Missals, Ritual Masses for the Consecration of a Church and Altar. In the Church of England, a consecrated church may only be closed for worship following a legal process (a ‘Pastoral Scheme’). Churches under the authority of a bishop (e.g., Orthodox, Roman Catholic, or Anglican) are usually consecrated by the bishop in a ceremony formerly known as consecration but now called a dedication ceremony. For the Catholic Church, the rite of consecration is described in Chapters IX-X and in the

Child dedication[ edit ]

In some Christian churches that practice adult baptism, an infant dedication ceremony takes place. The child is introduced to the congregation and vows are taken to bring him up in the Christian tradition (similar to a child’s baptism ceremony), but the child is not baptized as some churches only accept adult or “believer” baptism. 6]

Dedication of a marriage or relationship[ edit ]

Some denominations offer a dedication for a marriage or relationship. A dedication service is used in the Church of England to bless a couple after a civil marriage.[7] The Church of England Diocese of Hereford “voted to support a motion calling on the House of Bishops to ‘recommend an order of prayer and dedication upon registration of registered civil partnership or same-sex marriage’.” [8] [9] Individual Anglican congregations in England can already offer “a special ministry of prayer and devotion” to same-sex couples.[10]

What is the power of dedication?

“Dedication is one Unique Power which is capable of converting your life from rags to riches”. “Make Dedication your Passion if you want real success”. “To become a master in dedication, you need to implement the total effort of your heart, mind, and soul working together in tandem.”

12 WAYS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD RIGHT NOW

IN this whole world, many people are so curious about achieving success and prosperity, or have been looking for success for years and are still queuing to find it, or rather, waiting for it. Many of them have been working for years but have yet to see any sign of success in their area. There is a great reason behind this, which I will reveal in this article: From my years of research and experience in daily life, I have mostly heard a common question in public, “How to achieve success” and the best answer I have come from got to the knowledgeable people is; There are 3 essential keys that a person must have within them to be successful; “Confidence, intelligence and knowledge”.

That is why the success-hungry people give these 3 priorities and work all their life to achieve success and that is the only common mistake they surely make once they started thinking about success because these 3 are just the basic ones Keys everyone should need to succeed.

There is a unique power that everyone forgets and that no one has seriously considered. This power has a much higher meaning than “confidence, intelligence and knowledge”. Without having it in yourself, you cannot even think about achieving success and prosperity in life. The importance of this power is known only to successful people and in my opinion it is a must for success. The unique power I am speaking of and want you all to know is “devotion”.

“Devotion” is not genetic or divine; You have to burn some fire inside to create it. The best successful people or I can say brilliant people in this world who achieved great success, fame and financial freedom were so committed to their work. Two other common questions I’ve heard from people are; “Not all successful or legendary people are born brilliant. So where do these brilliant people come from?” and “What is the reason for their brilliance?”

To know the reason for their brilliance, you need to know the exact classification of brilliance. In my opinion, brilliance is classified as 1% inspiration and 99% dedication. So “Dedication” is the exact secret behind their brilliance. Always remember that true “dedication” is about “never giving up” and “never stopping trying.”

“Devotion is a unique power, capable of turning your life from rags to riches.”

“Make dedication your passion if you want real success”.

“To become a master of devotion, you must implement the entire effort of your heart, mind, and soul working in tandem.”

I’ve also sometimes heard people say this: “I work hard and am very dedicated to my work, but I still don’t have as much success as others” and they can’t figure out “why” and “what went wrong” ?

It happens because a lot of people think that hard work is the accurate classification of “commitment,” which isn’t true because “just hard work isn’t enough to make a big hit.” You must create true and powerful “devotion” within yourself.

What do you call someone dedicated to God?

Dedicated or devoted to God. divine. holy. sacred. blessed.

Why is it important to be dedicated?

When you are dedicated, you give everything you have—all of your efforts—to a cause or to a task. This is an important trait to exemplify in the workplace in particular. Setbacks occur, and if you are not dedicated, instead of stepping up, you will stay down and disappointed, which could lead you to quit.

12 WAYS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD RIGHT NOW

As any student knows, building your resume is important so you can follow your dreams. Commitment is critical to success. Many people have talent, skills, access to opportunity, luck, and connections that are the means to success. But even if you possess two or three of these factors, if you don’t commit to being the best version of yourself, you probably won’t achieve sustained success throughout your life.

Devotion means caring about something to the extreme. When you are committed, you give everything you have – all your efforts – to a cause or task. This is an important quality that should be exemplified, especially in the workplace.

Setbacks will happen and if you are not committed, instead of rising, you will remain depressed and disappointed, which could lead you to quit. Job engagement allows you to be more likely to achieve success, promotions, and the ability to work with difficult people. These life skills are beneficial for you to enjoy your job and reach your highest potential. It is important that companies and employees are on an equal footing to ensure the highest level of business success and create a positive work environment.

Professional dedication teaches discipline, passion, and time management that are critical to success. These ideas keep individuals focused on important issues and taking their work seriously to make it the best it can be. In addition, respect, the ability to use your creativity, and flexibility are some benefits that dedication can bring you in the workplace.

These benefits allow you to be happier in your job and feel secure in your position, knowing that you are valued. This in turn encourages employees to give 100 percent because when you know your boss/company supports you, you go the extra mile. One of the benefits of intrinsic motivation is that you do your best because you demand it of yourself, even when those around you don’t appreciate or value you.

The only downside to engagement is that your supervisors are constantly assigning you tasks that are difficult and challenging based on your problem-solving history, positive attitude, and completing a task with a smile on your face. Personally, in my job as a part-time salesman, I have challenging tasks such as straightening the longest aisles and also relocating aisles. My employers value me for my commitment, which is reflected in my punctuality, calling in sick colleagues, taking on challenging tasks and working with dissatisfied customers.

Given the current work climate, the lessons I’ve learned from working in my low-entry job will carry throughout my future career. In addition, they will support me in securing and maintaining jobs in the future. This promotes happiness, security and the good life we all seek. Devotion really affects all areas of life. Exercising this commitment can only lead to a positive future.

What does the Bible say about dedicating your life to God?

Romans 12:1-2

Give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

We can become so focused on our own goals that we forget to entrust our works to the Lord. Here is a list of scriptures to help you dedicate your day to Him.

I’ve always been a fairly self-motivated, goal-oriented person. Especially at school, I set myself high goals and worked hard to achieve them. In my adult life, I continued to set goals and was determined to achieve them.

But I can be so driven and focused on my goals… that I forget to invite God.

Pretty soon it all starts to revolve around my goals, my plans, my efforts and I express the One who started it all in the first place. The One who blessed me with my children, The One who created me with talents and abilities, and The One who placed these desires and passions in my heart.

Even activities that begin as obediently following an instruction from the Lord, like when I opened my heart to be a mother or when I started this blog, can morph into something else entirely. Something that is more about my own enjoyment, self-esteem and self-esteem and accomplishments. I’m starting to work my goals out of my own power and ideas, rather than following His guidance and wisdom.

A few months ago I realized that I had fallen into this trap once again. Blogging, chores, and especially motherhood had become more about achieving my goals than furthering his kingdom. I knew this would be a constant, daily struggle.

To help me remember who should be in charge and directing my steps, I’ve put together a collection of scriptures and prayers to offer to the Lord each day.

I hope they help you, as they have helped me, to focus on the Author of your life and the One who can direct your steps better than anyone else on earth.

prayers for every day

Command my steps, Lord, that I go where you want me to go and do what you want me to do.

Give me the wisdom to set the right priorities and the discipline to manage my time accordingly.

Help me to embrace and accept divine interruptions. (I need A LOT of help with this one!)

Fill my heart with your plans so that they succeed. I seek your will over my desires and plans.

Create in me a pure heart with pure motives for the work I will do today.

Help me to see motherhood and to walk my home in the light of your kingdom and glory.

12 WAYS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD RIGHT NOW

Wouldn’t it be perfect if God sent us a blueprint for each of our lives? What if, when we were born, we brought a manual that He wrote for us? A manual outlining what we should do to follow His plan for our lives?

Sometimes life can be so confusing and stressful that it can be difficult to understand what God wants for us in the midst of the noise of the world and the sounds of all the obligations that draw upon us. And the truth is, God knows what He wants for us, He’s in control of our plans. He designed the blueprint for our lives. He guides us and plants seeds in our hearts, and like a gardener He waters the seeds He plants in our hearts. God sees you, hears you and answers your prayers.

This life can be tough, but through trials the Lord makes us stronger. In times of trouble our faith can grow and multiply. Romans 5:3-5 shows us that suffering breeds endurance and character, which leads to hope that allows God to flow into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

While there is pressure from society to be successful and meet a certain standard that the world holds us to, we are able to achieve what He has through God and the calling He places in our lives want for our life.

Follow God’s plan for your life:

1. Be in prayer

One way to know that you are following God’s plan for your life is through prayer. Make time each day to dedicate yourself to the Lord and the plans He has for your life. As you surrender every area of your life to God, He will bless it and be able to work on it abundantly.

2. Actively read the Word of God

It’s one thing to go to church on Sunday and hear the pastor preach, and another to make time each day to devote yourself to the Word of God. If you take just a few minutes each day to read the Word of God, you will better understand the calling God has placed in your life and it will enable you to live the life He has wishes for you to live better.

3. Follow the commands He puts on your heart

Allow God to guide your steps and trust the dreams He puts on your heart. Believe that He will qualify you, and when He has put a dream on your heart, know that He will help you achieve it, and that He will be glorified in the process.

4. Find a godly fellowship

It is much easier to follow God’s plans and act in a way that honors Him when you have friends around who will encourage you in your walk with the Lord. Seek out a congregation within the Church that will hold you accountable and be able to give you divine counsel.

5. Follow the truth

Know what is written in the Bible and follow the way it calls you to life. Live the commandments and consciously set an example of what a follower of Christ should be.

Being an adult in today’s modern times brings with it a number of challenges and pressures, but God qualifies us by our shortcomings just as He qualified Moses when he asked him to lead the Israelites and stand against Pharaoh place. If God has placed in your heart a desire to go back to school, He will qualify you for it. He will be there to walk by your side and help you in the areas of your own shortcomings.

Ways to stay motivated when push comes to shove.

When you’re focused and committed, it’s easy to get discouraged. But if you have positive thoughts and stay motivated, you will be more successful. Here are a few ways to stay motivated when push comes to shove:

Think about your end goal.

When times get tough, it can help to remind yourself why you started it in the first place. Think about your ultimate goal and how this difficult time will help you achieve it.

Imagine yourself reaching your goal.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself reaching your goal. See yourself succeed and feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with it. This will help you stay motivated during difficult times.

Find someone to support you.

Talk to someone who supports your goal and ask them to help you stay motivated. Find someone who will encourage you and keep you focused on your goal.

Find a motivational quote or song.

There are many great motivational quotes to inspire you during tough times. Find one that speaks to you and read or listen to it for inspiration.

Set small goals along the way.

When working toward a big goal, it can help to set smaller goals along the way. This will help you stay motivated and make progress toward your ultimate goal.

The importance of a support system to stay engaged.

A support system is key when it comes to staying engaged. When you have people who are there to encourage and push you forward, it makes the journey that much easier. So make sure you find people who support your goal and are there for you in difficult times.

They can be a great source of motivation and help you stay focused on your goal.

For example, if you are trying to lose weight, find someone who is also trying to lose weight and work with them. Or, if you’re trying to save money, find someone who’s also trying to save money and compare your notes. This will help you stay both motivated and on track.

Having a support system is one of the most important things to staying engaged. Make sure you find people who are there for you and will help you move forward in tough times. And be there for them too. It’s a two-way street, and it will help both of you achieve your goals.

How dedication can change your life for the better.

Surrender can change your life for the better in many ways. It can help you achieve your goals, make progress, and be more successful. But it doesn’t stop there. Devotion can also help you live a happier and healthier life.

When you’re committed to something, you put all your energy into it. You give him your time, focus, and attention. That makes you successful. When you focus on a goal, you work hard to achieve it. And when you’re paying attention to something, learn as much about it as you can.

One of the best things about dedication is that it leads to progress. With every step that you take towards your goal, you get closer and closer to it. And with every bit of knowledge you gain, you’ll become better equipped to reach your ultimate goal.

But devotion doesn’t just help in the short term; it also helps in the long run. When you’re committed to something, you develop a habit of doing it. That means you keep going even when it’s challenging. Over time, this builds your character and makes you stronger.

Surrender can help you live a happier life by giving you meaning and purpose. It allows you to focus on what matters and gives you something to look forward to every day. And when you have a goal to achieve, it motivates you and gets you through tough times.

The importance of dedicating yourself to something you believe in.

When it comes to dedication, it’s not just about dedicating yourself to a goal. It’s also about committing to something you believe in. It can be anything from a thing or organization to a person or relationship.

When you commit to a cause you believe in, you make a commitment to make a difference. You invest your time and energy in something worth fighting for. And that makes all the difference in the world.

If you’re dedicated to something, say you’re committed to it. That means you’re going to stick with it and see it through, no matter what comes your way. If you believe in something, the only way is to stand up for it. You will be able to accomplish so much more than just going through the motions. It gives you the drive and determination to succeed.

Devotion is what enables us to make a difference and what helps us achieve our goals and fulfill our dreams. And that makes us what we are. So don’t be afraid to dedicate yourself to something you believe in. It will be worth it.

Examples of devotion in everyday life.

A mother who stays up all night with her sick child, a worker who works overtime to meet a deadline, or a student who spends extra time studying for an exam are examples of dedication.

Devotion breeds determination. If you are determined, you are more likely to achieve your goals. Determination gives you the drive and motivation to keep going when the going gets tough. It helps you overcome obstacles and persevere until you reach your goal.

Other examples of dedication include a soldier risking his life to protect his country, an athlete practicing hard for hours every day, and a musician practicing for hours every day.

These people have one thing in common – they are committed to their goals. They are not ready to give up, no matter what obstacles come their way.

When a business owner is committed to their business, it is more likely to be successful. The owner is willing to invest many hours and sacrifices to make the business a success. They are not afraid of hard work and are always looking for opportunities to improve the business.

When a volunteer dedicates themselves to their cause, the community benefits. This person is committed to the organization and understands and believes in its mission.

Dedication is often seen in parents who are fully invested in their children’s lives. They are always there for her, no matter what. These parents work tirelessly to provide them with a good home and lead by example.

A musician dedicated to his art will always practice and strive for perfection. They also take the time to learn about the history and culture of music.

A teacher who is dedicated to his students will always give his all. They are passionate about teaching and making sure each student gets the attention they need.

Devotion is a powerful tool that can bring about positive changes in the world. When people are committed to their cause, they are unstoppable.

How your commitment can inspire others.

When you’re committed to a cause, it’s easy to inspire others. Your passion and commitment will be contagious and others will want to get involved.

One of the best things about devotion is that it’s a learnable skill. Anyone can get involved if they put their mind to it. All it takes is some effort and determination.

Other people are often inspired by seeing devotion in action. As you dedicate yourself to your career, family, or community, others will be inspired by your example. This can be a great way to motivate them and help them achieve their goals. It can make them want to get involved and do their part to make a difference.

When you devote yourself to something, you set the tone for those around you. You will see that anything is possible if you are willing to put in the work.

Conclusion.

As you can see, there are many benefits to being committed to everything you do. When you put everything into something, the results can be amazing. Commitment takes effort and time, but it’s worth it in the end. When you’re committed to a cause, it’s easy to inspire others. Your passion and commitment will be contagious and others will want to get involved.

BEING DEDICATED TO GOD

TO BE DEDICATED TO GOD

January 31, 2020

Most of us have witnessed the inauguration of a park, stadium, public building, sports field, maybe even a freeway or mall. Last July, the ceremonial inauguration of Christ Cathedral took place. In the spring, the newly renovated Hazel Wright pipe organ will be dedicated at Christ Cathedral. To consecrate something means to set it aside for a specific purpose.

The Presentation of the Lord celebrates the day Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple to dedicate him to God. This was no ordinary child. As the older prophet Simeon reasoned, this child would be a light to the Gentiles and to the glory of Israel (Luke 2:22-40). This child, the Son of God, was set apart to change the course of human history.

On the day of our baptism we were consecrated to God. We were set apart as God’s daughters and sons to bring God’s life and love into the world. Being consecrated to God means our sins don’t have to get the best of us. We have been set free from the bondage of sin through the death and resurrection of Jesus (Hebrews 2:14-18). God wants us to be free from heavy burdens of guilt because we know His forgiving love.

Dedication means that God works with us on our imperfections like a refiner who cleanses gold of its imperfections (Malachi 3:1-4). It means being willing to say, “Okay, God, I have this weakness or that, and with your help, I am willing to do whatever it takes to get better. Instead of our world falling apart when we realize we need to change something, we say thank you to God because something new can happen to us.

Being dedicated to God means we are a light to the world. In an often cold and cynical world, we can bring a perspective of hope because we know God is with us. This means that each of us brings our own unique light. If we hold back our goodness, the world forever loses the opportunity to become a better place because we were here. With Jesus, our light, we too were destined to change the world.

Christening, Baptism and Dedication: What’s the difference?

In your search for christening invitations, you may have come across invitations that mention baptism or dedication. Like many parents, you are probably wondering how baptism, baptism, and ordination differ from one another. We thought we’d try to answer that question for you and give you an example of the invitation wording for each.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, baptism is “a Christian sacrament marked by the ritual use of water and the acceptance of the recipient into the Christian community.” Most denominations of Christianity perform baptisms on infants and young children, while Baptists and most non-denominational churches wait until the recipient is old enough to consciously accept Christianity.

The wording of the baptismal invitation would read something like this:

We are happy to bring our daughter with us

in the love of God’s family

We invite you to celebrate

our daughter’s baptism

Abigail Mae

on May 30, 2015

during the 18:00 service

Mankato, Min

The word “baptism” in relation to baptism means the act of naming or dedicating the child. Baptism is not a separate ceremony or sacrament, but rather a reference to that part of baptism in which the priest asks, “What name did you give your child?” In some denominations (often Catholic) baptism was used as another name accepted for baptism.

The wording of the baptismal invitation would read something like this:

Julie and Brent Vangsness

joyfully invite you to share with them

her son’s baptism

Alan Benjamin

on Saturday May 30, 2015

at 6:00 p.m

A dedication is a Christian ceremony that consecrates the child to God and welcomes the baby into the church. During this ceremony, the parents also devote themselves to the Christian upbringing of the child. This ceremony is performed in Baptist, non-denominational and Assembly of God churches where it is believed that the individual should not be baptized until he/she can make the conscious decision to do so.

The wording of the dedication invitation would read something like this:

Help us celebrate love and new life

when we consecrate our son Christopher David to God

12 WAYS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD RIGHT NOW

Whether you’re searching for greater purpose in life, are a new believer, or have been a longtime walker with Jesus, these simple tips will remind you that growing closer to God is just a small act away. Spend some time with God today and you will be blessed and refreshed.

1. Become calm. Turn off the radio and television, step away from your computer, put away your phone, and find a quiet place to just rest in God’s presence.

2. Read your Bible. Underline, highlight, or write passages, verses, sentences, or words that speak to you. These are the gifts you pass on when you need encouragement later.

3. Write your prayers in a special notebook; these may be for others or for oneself. Then spend time in prayer.

4. Go for a walk and talk to God. Share your heart: what is troubling you, what you are thankful for, and what you hope and dream. He is listening.

5. Meditate on Scripture. Choose a verse or short passage, read it several times, and invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you about what you have learned about what is happening in your life.

6. Put on worship music and immerse yourself in the melody and lyrics. Sing along, dance…or just listen. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you.

7. Marvel at the world that God created. Go for a walk in the woods, sit by a bubbling stream, watch a mother bird feed her young, or head into the country for a picnic. Let the experience sink in.

8. Write down what God spoke to you about today.

9. Share with a friend or family member what God has done for you. Bearing testimony is a powerful tool for our own spiritual growth and pleases the Lord.

10. Doing something for someone else without expecting anything in return.

11. Use the gifts that God has given you. If He called you to create, then create. If he has called you to administer, then administer. If He called you to be a shepherd, then shepherd.

12. Fast. Fasting brings a clear mind and combined with any of the above gives you the potential for a remarkable encounter with God.

BONUS: Be thankful. Count your blessings every day and thank God for it.
