How To Disable Instagram Shop? Trust The Answer

Since TikTok was banned in India, a number of apps have emerged to replace the viral video app. Instagram is the most famous of these as it launched Instagram Reels in an app that people are already using. However, if you weren’t a fan of TikTok, we doubt you would like Reels either. In this article, we propose a way to avoid Instagram’s new feature, Reels. Besides, we also explain how to remove an uploaded Reels video.

Instagram Reels: Disable

There is a way to disable Instagram Reels.

Follow these steps to avoid Instagram Reels.

Log in to your Instagram account using any browser. You can do this in any mobile browser or desktop browser app like Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox. If you visit Instagram in a browser, you’ll notice that Reels videos don’t show up in the Discover tab. Even if you visit any Instagram profile, you will find that the Reels tab is not there. If you don’t mind using Instagram through your phone or computer’s browser, this is the only way to avoid Reels as of now.

Instagram Reels: How to Delete

Just in case if you’re not against using Instagram Reels and you actually like the new feature, feel free to post as many of them on your IG account. We’ve already covered how to create and use Instagram Reels for reading.

Follow these steps to learn how to remove Instagram Reels.

Open Instagram and go to your profile. Go to the Reels tab and select the video you want to delete. Open the video > tap the three dots icon > tap Delete.

Instagram is replacing the Activity tab with a Shop tab for select users as part of a global test.

The traditional heart icon in Instagram’s navigation menu is replaced with a shopping bag icon.

By tapping on the new icon, the user gets to the Instagram shop area, which was introduced in May.

Previously only available in the US, the Shop section is now accessible to Instagram users around the world.

Instagram Shopping is a place where users can browse and buy products without leaving the app.

Before there was a dedicated tab in the navigation menu, Instagram shopping could be accessed through the Explore section. It is still there for users not taking this test.

Updated version of the Instagram shop

The version of Instagram Shop accessible through the navigation menu is slightly different from the previous version.

In this version, users only see products from brands they follow. It’s like a personally curated feed of products from brands a user is already interested in.

The other version of Instagram Shop, accessible from the Explore tab, is designed to display products from a wider range of retailers.

Products can be filtered by category, e.g. B. Beauty, Clothing & Accessories, Home, Jewelry & Watches and Travel.

Some products can be purchased directly on Instagram, while others must be purchased on the retailer’s website.

The purpose of testing two different versions of Instagram Shop is to find the best way to roll out the feature to everyone in the future.

An Instagram spokesperson tells TechCrunch:

“This is a small global test of the Instagram Shop tab that we announced in May. We will use this test to assess how we decide to roll this out further.”

Those who take the test can find their activity data elsewhere in the Instagram app.

Where is my activity data?

Users whose Activity tab has been replaced with the Shop tab can rest assured that their Activity section hasn’t completely disappeared.

If you take this test, you’ll now find an “Activity” tab in the top right corner of the main feed (next to the Direct Messages icon).

Don’t worry, it’s not another iteration of Instagram to permanently remove the followers activity section — which is a move many people still lament.

This test is not intended to leak the activity tab in any way. Rather, Instagram wants to attract more users to its shopping area.

Businesses of all types can list products for free on the Instagram shopping section, making it a great way to get products in front of more people.

For businesses located in one of the markets supported by Instagram, all that is required is a product catalog and an Instagram business page.

A business’s Instagram account must also be connected to its Facebook business page.

By connecting the two, the Instagram business page can access Facebook’s catalog manager.

From there, products can then be approved for display on Instagram Shopping.

3 – Remove remaining codes

After you remove the Feed Gallery from the store, to ensure technical integrity, you should remove the application and feed codes in your theme code.

Step 1: On your myShopify admin homepage, go to the Themes tab under the online store.

Select Actions > Edit Code.

> . To remove (default) feed codes, simply go back to the file where you pasted the feed’s code. It is ideal to keep track of these files to easily add/remove feeds.

Step 2: To remove the app’s code from your theme’s data, you need to remove it from theme.liquid file and arn-aif.css and arn-aif.js from theme code’s assets.

To find arn-aif.css and arn-aif.js from theme code’s assets, just type “aif” in the search bar.

Step 3: Click each file and then click Delete File button.

Go to your business profile in the Instagram app and tap the gear icon. Tap Edit Profile > then Contact Options. Select the word Book (or in your case you might see Shop) in your business profile and delete it.
