What’s Lightning McQueen’s catchphrase?

Lightning McQueen’s catchphrase is “Ka-chow!” So “Ka-ching” because the film’s going to make a lot of money this weekend!

Is your name Lightning McQueen?

Montgomery “Lightning” McQueen is a fictional anthropomorphic stock car who is the protagonist of the animated Pixar film series, Cars, including Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3. He also appears in the Cars Toons TV series.

Why did they pick 95 for Lightning McQueen?

The Story Behind Lightning’s Number

His number was originally 57, which is the year director John Lasseter was born. Incidentally, 95 represents the year that Toy Story, Pixar’s first feature film, was released.

What does Lightning McQueen say before Kachow?

“Ka-Chow!” (Cars & Cars 2)

(Somehow “Ka-Chicka!” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.) In Cars 2, Lightning taunts his Italian rival Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro) by plastering “Ka-Ciao!” on his rear license plate display.

Lightning McQueen

Pixar’s Cars and Cars 2 were box-office hits and popular with young children, and the films are packed with exactly the kind of memorable dialogue that Pixar has become known for. The following five lines are the most memorable lines of this ongoing series:

01 of 05 “Ka-Chow!” (Cars & Cars 2) Pixar Every good hero needs a catchphrase – Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear has “To Infinity and Beyond!” – and Lightning McQueen is certainly no exception. When we first meet the character in the first Cars film, Lightning (Owen Wilson) is a brash, selfish character who loves posing for the press and paparazzi. Lightning is known for saying “Ka-chow!” while modeling for the camera, so much so that rival racer Chick Hicks (Michael Keaton) tries to put his own spin on the catchphrase. (Somehow “Ka-Chicka!” doesn’t quite sound like it.) In Cars 2, Lightning taunts his Italian rival Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro) by plucking “Ka-Ciao!” on its rear license plate display.

02 of 05 “I knew you couldn’t drive. I didn’t think you couldn’t read.” (Cars) Pixar Doc Hudson (Paul Newman) is the centerpiece of the first Cars film, and the character spends much of the film teasing Lightning McQueen for turning himself in sees the conspicuous newcomer. The back and forth dynamic between Doc and Lightning is a big part of what’s great. The antagonistic nature of their initial attachment eventually morphs into something resembling a father-son relationship. Before they get to that point, Doc Lightning has to take a few steps down – which he accomplishes by insulting the younger car at every opportunity. After Lightning ignores a “Keep Out” sign and enters Doc’s garage, Doc responds by hitting Lightning with the line above – which remains one of Doc’s more stinging insults.

03 of 05 “I’d give my left hand two Lugnuts for something like that!” (Cars) Pixar As a comic relief in Cars 2006, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) is responsible for many of the film’s funniest lines. Mater is a friendly, big-hearted simpleton who immediately takes a liking to newcomer Lightning McQueen. Soon the battered tow truck introduces his new friend to the fine pleasures of country life (including, of course, tipping the tractor). When Mater discovers that Lightning will be spending time with Bessie, the town’s asphalt-laying machine, he expresses his jealousy by shouting out the above line. Mater’s lack of intelligence becomes particularly problematic for him as he is inadvertently drawn into a dangerous plot involving secret agents and evil villains.

04 of 05 “Being killed by a clock gives new meaning to ‘your time’.” (‘Cars 2’) Pixar Cars 2 introduces us to a new character named Finn McMissile (Michael Caine), a British intelligence agent for the mistakenly believes that Mater is actually an American spy. Finn was clearly modeled after James Bond, as the character behaves and speaks in a way that is intentionally similar to Ian Fleming’s iconic creation. Towards the end of the film, Finn and his assistant Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer) are captured by the villains and tied up in the gears of a giant clock in London. As the gears begin to move, Finn realizes what is about to happen and delivers the line above. Of course, Finn is inevitably saved by Holley’s quick thinking.

Is Doc dead?

Although Doc has passed away in the story, Lightning hears the Fabulous Hudson Hornet’s voice in flashbacks and visions, which required some old dialogue from Newman — and some, completely new vocalizations.

Lightning McQueen

Once a legend, always a legend – that’s why it’s both jubilant and harrowing to hear the voice of Paul Newman, who died of lung cancer in 2008, return in Cars 3 as the wrinkled retired racing driver Doc Hudson.

Playing Lightning McQueen’s (Owen Wilson) former mentor in the first “Cars” was Newman’s last major role before his death. And while the decision was made that Doc wouldn’t appear in 2011’s Cars 2, John Lasseter, head of animation history at Disney and Pixar, said the decision to bring Doc – and Newman – back for Cars 3 is simply integral to the film’s story be.

Cars 3 finds an aging Lightning who was written off by his peers after a devastating accident and reconsiders the advice of his retired teacher Doc, who himself faced the same strife in his career. Though Doc died in the story, Lightning hears the voice of the Fabulous Hudson Hornet in flashbacks and visions, which required some old dialogue from Newman – and some entirely new vocalizations.

“When we were developing Cars 3, we liked the idea of McQueen, at this stage in his career as a veteran of the sport, looking at all these young racing cars and fearing them at first as competition, then eventually recognizing the value to young racers of both but himself as a mentor,” says Lasseter. “So when we told this story, we had to say that Doc Hudson would play an important part in it.”

RELATED: Pixar’s upcoming movie list

As the director of the first Cars film, it was Lasseter who spent time with Newman in the recording booth getting to know the iconic actress – and avid racer. “In a way he was my mentor in racing because car racing was the true passion of his life and I made sure we recorded everything whenever he came into the recording booth,” recalls the director. “In between takes he would tell me stories about great racing and you could hear the passion in his voice. So when we started Cars 3 we would go back to every recording we made on Cars 1 and catalog and listen to everything and by the end we had a lot of material to use. Lines cut from the original film that were never used, as well as some of these cuts from interim shots.

Because Newman was such an avid lover of the first film, the actor’s family were, as Lasseter puts it, “thrilled” to agree to the posthumous move: “We wanted to be very respectful of it. It was out of love for Paul Newman that I had. In a weird way, I really do have a relationship with McQueen. It’s almost as if Lightning McQueen’s love for Doc Hudson is my love for Paul Newman. It’s from the same place of love and respect.”

Will there be a Cars 4?

‘Cars 4’ has not officially been announced, but fans of the Pixar franchise got some good news on ‘Disney+ Day’ with the announcement of a ‘Cars’ spinoff series coming in 2022. The Cars movies are one of the most popular animated film franchises created by Pixar.

Lightning McQueen

The Cars films are one of Pixar’s most popular animated film franchises. And that’s saying something, considering the film studio is responsible for Toy Story, The Incredibles and more. But right now it’s all about cars – and more specifically, when a fourth film comes out! The first Cars movie was released in 2006, followed by Cars 2 in 2011 and Cars 3 in 2017. As of now, Pixar/Disney have not confirmed that Cars 4 will hit the big screen. However, there is a spinoff series of the franchise that will be released on Disney+ Day in September 2022. Cars on the Road will star Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy as the voices of Lightning McQueen and Mater, respectively.

Rev up your engines: Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy return to voice Lightning McQueen and Mater in the #DisneyPlus Original Series: Cars on the Road streaming in 2022! #DisneyPlusDay pic.twitter.com/NQCu5tW4we – Disney+ (@disneyplus) November 12, 2021

Unfortunately, Disney still hasn’t mentioned Cars 4. However, there was renewed hope of a fourth film after Owen Wilson made a hilarious parody of a possible Cars 4 during his October 2021 appearance on Saturday Night Live. More on that skit later, but for now let’s go full throttle on everything fans need to know about a possible Cars 4.

The “Cars” franchise so far

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Cars was created by John Lasseter and takes place in a world full of talking vehicles – cars included. In the first film, Lightning (Owen) gets lost while racing on his way to California and ends up in Radiator Springs, a small town on Route 66 leads to him meeting new BFF Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) and Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), who he falls in love with. Other featured characters include Doc Hudson (Paul Newman), Luigi (Tony Shaloub), Ramone (Cheech Marin), The King (Richard Petty), Chick Hicks (Michael Keaton), and more. At the end of the first film, Lightning establishes his own racing headquarters in Radiator Springs.

In Cars 2, Lightning competes in the first World Grand Prix in Europe, but is accidentally drawn into an international spy drama. New characters in the second film include Finn McMissle (Michael Caine), Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer), Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro), Sir Miles Axlerod (Eddie Izzard) and Professor Zundapp (Thomas Kretschmann). Six years later, Cars 3 came out and explored Lightning to teach a new generation of racing cars. Some of these newcomers included Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), Smokey (Chris Cooper), Sterling (Nathan Fillion), Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) and Natalie Certain (Kerry Washington). At the end of the third film, Lightning decides to put his own racing career aside to train Cruz for the upcoming Piston Cup season.

The Cars franchise has expanded beyond the three films. There have been two spin-off films, Planes and Planes: Fire & Rescue, released by Disneytoon Studios. There were also a few TV spin-offs called Car Toons that aired on Disney Channel and ABC Family. The animated spinoff series Cars on the Road is coming to Disney+ in September 2022 and follows Lightning and Mater as they travel across the country.

What we know about “Cars 4”.

All three Cars films received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Overall, the films grossed over $1.4 billion in box office worldwide. The first car was even nominated for an Oscar for best animated feature film in 2007, but lost to Happy Feet. Based on all of this, it’s likely that Pixar/Disney want to continue the successful franchise. However, studios have recently turned their attention to creating original films (like Soul, Onward, and Luca) rather than creating sequels to their franchises like Toy Story and Cars.

The good news is that some of the faces behind Cars have already said that a fourth film is possible. “As with any sequel, from Toy Story 4 to Incredibles 2, as long as there’s a good story worth investing in, we love these characters, we love them as much as the public does,” the producers said Kevin Reher and Andrea Warren back in 2017. Meanwhile, at a Cars 3 press event, Owen said he had personal hopes for what a fourth film might be about. “I would imagine if they do another one it’ll be something pretty cool,” the actor said. “But yeah, maybe like Lightning McQueen in some kind of thriller. Maybe that could be something.”

Meanwhile, ‘SNL’ has some ideas…

If Pixar/Disney needs some inspiration for Cars 4, Owen’s hysterical SNL sketch is just the ticket. Owen parodied a possible fourth film by uttering a series of innuendos and expletives while doing voice acting for the fake film. The scene also features Mikey Day and Punkie Johnson as Pixar executives guiding Owen during the recording session. Owen’s co-star Larry (he’s addressing Mater, in case you’ve forgotten) even shows up and reads his lines alongside Owen. Larry mentions the “R-word” which Owen rejects. “It’s a complete betrayal of a beloved character and I don’t want any part of it.” But Owen’s mood changes quickly when executives show him his contract from Disney — and it puts Owen back on track for the job. We really hope this SNL sketch will kickstart Pixar/Disney’s development of Cars 4!

“Cars on the Road”

The Cars on the Road spinoff series was officially announced on Disney+ Day in November 2021. On August 1, 2022, Pixar/Disney announced that the show will premiere on Disney+ Day 2022 (September 8). The first trailer was released on the same day. It features the return of Lighting McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy).

According to Disney, Cars on the Road “follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater on a cross-country road trip. These episodes are filled with lots of fun new characters, imaginative goals, as well as old friends checking in along the way.” Steve Purcell wrote the series, while Pete Docter and Marc Sondheimer are producing. The nine-episode series premieres September 8 on Disney+.

What is Lightning McQueen’s mantra?

Faster than fast, quicker. I am Lightning. Speed. I am Speed.

Lightning McQueen

“Okay, let’s go. Focus. Speed. i am speed One winner, 42 losers. I eat losers for breakfast. Breakfast? Maybe I should have had breakfast? Brekkie might be good for me. No, no, no, focus. Speed. Faster than fast, faster. i am lightning Speed. I am speed.”

I don’t know how many times we’ve seen this. It was, after all, one of his absolute favourites. Pixar’s blockbuster The Cars, the computer-animated story of Lightning McQueen who aims to become the first rookie to win the famous Piston Cup race. The film would begin with McQueen’s above monologue, a self-motivating mantra he repeats before each race. When the timer runs out, the doors of Mac, the veteran supporter wearing him, would open; and we hear the battle cry “Oh yeah” as the cameras flash in the background. Every detail of that opening scene was engraved in our minds; such was the time of the exclamation. We shouted with him: “Oh yeah”. Because we were McQueen.

I never realized how much McQueen’s mantra described me, from my mannerisms to my entire philosophy of life, until he was gone. I was speed; I had to be faster than fast, faster than fast. I had to be active, or “proactive” if you’re into those fancy neologisms, to just live. Speed and action were a means of survival. I felt like I would die, cease to exist if I slowed down, let alone stop.

Now people are telling me to slow down. People who genuinely love me and care about me with the best of intentions. I know they are right. Both in their diagnosis and in their proposed cure. “Slowly,” they say. “You’ve been racing all these years. Now is the time to slow down and take care of yourself.”

Some, like the wise P., introduced me to Slow Living, the movement born in Italy in 1999, through the idea of cittaslow or slow cities. “Cities where people are still curious about the old times, cities rich in theatres, squares, cafes, workshops, restaurants and spiritual places, cities with untouched landscapes and charming craftsmen, where people still recognize the slow passage of the seasons can and their genuine products that respect taste, health and spontaneous customs,” as explained in the Cittaslow manifesto.

Others warn me about the dangers of speed, especially after a traumatic experience. “We know you are seeing tangible results and want to start your life over. A life that is not structured around him. A life that includes him, but doesn’t just consist of him.” “It’s all very understandable,” they say, “but not feasible”. Again, I know they’re deep inside. It is neither realistic nor healthy to expect others to match my pace. Why should they? You have not experienced what I have experienced. They may have had similar traumas in their past, but there is no set way to recover from coping with the loss. And people are different. As far as we know they may have the opposite need not only to slow down but also to isolate themselves, to enter into a dialogue with their inner selves. Who can I expect to hold my hand and run with me to an unknown, undefined destination?

So where does this leave me? How am I supposed to break the impasse? It’s not that I’m not trying to slow down. To breathe and enjoy every single breath. But the moment I slow down, my mind starts playing tricks on me. I start asking questions and soon I’m faced with the worst question of all: “Why?”. Unable to find a reasonable answer, I become completely van Gogh, disappearing into a dizzying labyrinth of memories and images, paralyzed by a sudden outburst of anger. Like van Gogh, the anger is directed at myself because, as he put it in a letter to his brother Theo, “I can’t do what I want to do, and in a moment like that you feel like you can bound hand and foot, feet lie at the bottom of a deep, dark well, utterly helpless.”

And that leaves me nowhere. My dead end is a deep, dark well. I fill the well with projects, words, (often failed) connections, but the well leads nowhere. It’s really deep and dark. Speed keeps me alive. anger too. For now.

Lightning McQueen

Fictional character from the Cars franchise

Fictional Character

Montgomery “Lightning” McQueen is a fictional anthropomorphic stock car who is the protagonist of the Pixar animated film series Cars, including Cars, Cars 2 and Cars 3. He also appears in the television series Cars Toons. McQueen is a playable character in every installment of the Cars video game and also in other Disney/Pixar video games. He has a cameo appearance in Planes: Fire & Rescue.[1] Lightning McQueen is the face of the Cars brand and a popular Disney mascot.

McQueen is a professional racer in the Piston Cup circuit, which is modeled after the NASCAR Cup Series, and has achieved seven Piston Cup victories over the course of his career. In Cars 2, he moves to compete in the World Grand Prix. At the end of Cars 3, he retires into a mentoring role for a new generation of racers.

In the films, McQueen is sponsored by Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment and wears their decals. His body is red with yellow and orange decals, displays the number 95 on his sides, and has blue eyes. Its looks are updated through the films but generally maintain the same image. McQueen is briefly seen in Cars 3 with no paint or decals. He is voiced in the films by actor Owen Wilson.

characterization

During initial research for the first film, John Lasseter met with General Motors designers to discuss the new Corvette design.[2] However, McQueen’s appearance is not attributed to any single car model.

“He’s the new rookie, he’s kind of sexy, he’s fast, he’s different. So he’s fictional. We took the best of our favorite things, from GT40s to Chargers… just by sketching them, we figured out what McQueen looks like.” Bob Pauley, one of two Cars production designers[3]

To create a cocky but likable character for McQueen, Pixar looked to sports greats like boxer Muhammad Ali, basketball player Charles Barkley and football quarterback Joe Namath, as well as rap and rock singer Kid Rock.[3]

“With the other racing cars, we looked at how racing cars drive. For McQueen we looked at surfers and snowboarders and Michael Jordan, these really great athletes and the beauty of their movement. You see Jordan in his prime against every other player, he’s playing a different game. We wanted to have that same feel, so when you talk about the ‘rookie sensation’ you can see that he’s really gifted.” James Ford Murphy, director-animator of Cars.[3]

The end result is a character who, despite the usually meticulous approach to “truth of the material,” where each car’s animation mechanically matches each model’s abilities, can occasionally bend the rules to make himself feel more like an athlete than a to move the car.[3 ]

Lightning McQueen is not named after actor and racing driver Steve McQueen, but after Pixar animator Glenn McQueen, who died in 2002.

character design

McQueen’s design is primarily inspired by and based on various 4th generation NASCARs. However, it has a curvaceous body like the Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Charger Daytona NASCARs. The exhaust pipes are from the Dodge Charger NASCARs of the 1970s, but with four (two on each side) instead of two on one side or one on both sides. Its body takes cues from the Ford GT40 and Lola T70, along with the cab of a 1990s Porsche 911.[4] Its number was originally intended to be 57, Lasseter’s year of birth, but was changed to 95, the year Pixar released his first film, Toy Story. McQueen’s engine sounds emulate a Gen 4 NASCAR in Cars, and in Cars 2 his engine sounds are a mix of a Gen 5 COT NASCAR and the Chevrolet Corvette C6.R, and in Cars 3 his engine sounds reflect a Gen 6 NASCAR.

appearances

Cars (2006)

A rookie racer in the Piston Cup series, Lightning McQueen secretly despises his sponsor, Rust-eze, hoping to be sponsored by the much more glamorous Dinoco oil company. McQueen is portrayed as ungrateful, obnoxious, selfish, and sarcastic. Heading to California for a tie-breaker race, McQueen begins to realize he has no real friends. After an encounter with a quartet of tuner cars, McQueen is separated from his van Mack and lost in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the U.S. Route 66. There he is soon arrested and impounded.

In Radiator Springs, the local judge, Doc Hudson, the other townspeople, and Sally Carrera vote to have McQueen repave the road he destroyed as punishment. He rushes and doesn’t get it right at first before reluctantly accepting help from Doc. In the process, McQueen learns about the history of Radiator Springs and begins to identify with its residents. McQueen befriends a tow truck named Tow Mater and falls in love with Sally. During his time at Radiator Springs, McQueen’s personality slowly begins to change. He begins to care more about others than just himself. He also learns an expert turn from Doc and some unorthodox moves from Mater, which he later uses in the tie-breaker race.

On the last lap of the race, McQueen witnesses a fall behind him and loses the win to help Weathers finish the race. McQueen is nonetheless praised for his unselfish sportsmanship, so much so that Dinoco Race Team owner Tex offers to hire him to replace Weathers. McQueen declines, instead choosing to stay with his Rust-eze sponsors because they managed to get him to where he was. Tex respects his decision and instead offers to do him a favor anytime he needs it. McQueen uses the favor to give Mater a ride in the Dinoco helicopter and fulfills Mater’s dream.

McQueen returns to Radiator Springs to set up his racing headquarters. He resumes his relationship with Sally and becomes Hudson’s student.

Cars: The Video Game (2006)

Considered a direct continuation of the Cars narrative, the story of this game picks up where the film ends. McQueen is about to start the next Piston Cup season. With the help of the citizens of Radiator Springs, McQueen prepares to begin his quest for the Piston Cup. He takes lessons from Doc, Fillmore, Mater. Using his new skills, McQueen finds himself back in position to win the Piston Cup, much to Chick Hicks’ annoyance.

McQueen’s racing gear is stolen from Mack on Interstate 40 when Chick enlists the help of The Delinquent Road Hazards, the same crew who molested Lightning in the first film. McQueen is able to retrieve his gear and bring the offenders to justice before winning the next race, sending Chick into a frenzy. Lightning challenges Chick to a Grand Prix at Radiator Springs followed by another Piston Cup race in L.A. McQueen wins these events and wins the Piston Cup in his second season.

In the end, McQueen, Mater and Sally decide to take a celebratory trip across the country. When asked if he brought his trophy, McQueen notes that he didn’t but left it in a good place, which is in Doc Hudson’s clinic next to the racing legend’s own three Piston Cups.

Although McQueen is still sponsored by Rust-eze, players can unlock McQueen with a Dinoco skin while playing as him in Story Mode, Arcade Mode, and VS. Mode.

Cars 2 (2011)

Five years after the events of the first film, McQueen, now a four-time Piston Cup champion (2007-2011), returns to Radiator Springs after a successful racing season to rest and reconnect with his friends. McQueen’s respite is cut short when he is recruited to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix sponsored by former oil tycoon Miles Axelrod, who is hoping to promote his new biofuel, allinol. McQueen and his friend Mater get caught up in an international espionage scheme that puts them in danger and tests their friendship.

At a pre-race party in Tokyo, Japan, McQueen is ashamed of Mater and regrets taking him with her. After losing the first race due to Mater’s involvement with the spies, McQueen lashes out at him and tells him he doesn’t want his help anymore. Mater leaves and McQueen feels guilty for being so harsh. McQueen later wins the second race in Porto Corsa, Italy. So far, however, many cars have been badly damaged in the races, leading the public to question whether the new fuel, allinol, is the cause. In response, Axelrod decides to remove Allinol from the final race. McQueen decides to proceed with Allinol and unknowingly puts himself in danger. Mater tries to warn McQueen but fails.

At the third race in London, McQueen sees Mater and wants to apologize to him. As McQueen approaches him, Mater scoots away because of a bomb placed in his engine bay that will detonate if McQueen gets too close. Out of range of the detonator’s remote control, McQueen catches up and realizes the spy mission was real. McQueen accompanies Mater and the spies to confront Miles Axelrod, the mastermind of the murder, and force him to defuse the bomb.

Following the arrest of Axlerod and his cohorts, it was revealed that McQueen’s allinol supply was switched from Sarge to Fillmore’s organic fuel to protect McQueen from the effects of the radiation. McQueen cheerfully explains that from now on Mater can come to any race if he wants. Back in Radiator Springs, McQueen and friends host the Radiator Springs Grand Prix.

McQueen’s color scheme in this film is much the same as in the first film (his large lightning bolt is repainted dark red, and a smaller lightning bolt is threaded through his number and only has three sponsor stickers on either side), although it will be for the World Grand Prix modified with green tinted flames on the end of its large stud and a Piston Cup logo on the hood instead of its usual Rust-Eze sponsor. Its reflective lightning bolt decals have been removed, it has a different spoiler and its decal headlights and taillights have been replaced with real working lights.

Cars 3 (2017)

Six years after the events of the second film, McQueen, now a seven-time Piston Cup winner (2007-2014) and racing legend, is racing in the Piston Cup series with longtime racing buddies Cal Weathers and Bobby Swift. High-tech rookie racer Jackson Storm shows up and wins race after race. McQueen tries too hard while trying to compete with Storm and is badly injured in a dangerous accident. After his recovery, McQueen trains with Cruz Ramirez in the offseason in hopes of beating Storm. McQueen’s new sponsor, Sterling, tells him that if he loses his next race, in which Sterling plans to cash in on McQueen’s retirement items, he will have to give up. After several unsuccessful attempts at training, McQueen decides to seek out Doc’s old pit boss, Smokey, eventually meeting him at Thomasville Motor Speedway in the Great Smoky Mountains. After completing that practice, McQueen leads the first half of the Florida 500 with Smokey as his crew chief before retiring and giving Cruz a shot at glory with him as crew chief. Cruz and McQueen share the win as Lightning starts the race, and the pair earn sponsorship under the merged Dinoco-Rust-Eze brand. McQueen takes on the role of mentoring young talent, with Cruz as his apprentice.

He reverts to the body type he had in the first film, but the paintwork shows a cross between the lightning bolts from the first film and the flames from the second film. The studs are solid instead of halftone, the Rust-Eze logos have been enlarged, and he has fewer sponsor stickers than in the first film. He also has a second livery (featuring a slightly desaturated red livery, a more modern take on the Rust-Eze logo, and different flashes) before his fall, a third “training” livery where he’s darker red with metallic yellow accents, and a fourth “Demolition Derby” livery in which he is all mud brown and bears the number 15. At the end of the film, McQueen wears a blue “Fabulous Lightning McQueen” livery reminiscent of Doc Hudson’s. He also keeps his work lights.

Notable miscellaneous appearances

In the book Struck by Lightning, McQueen reveals that his original name was “Monty” and that “Lightning” is a nickname.[5]
