Study and live in your private teacher’s home – Language studies abroad – Important information
Live and study in the home of your private teacher, fully immersing yourself in the language and taking part in tailor-made one-to-one courses every day! The course programs are specially tailored to you. You will focus on your individual language needs and quickly improve your speaking skills.
This program requires real motivation on the part of students as they must be able to adapt to a lifestyle and culture very different from their own.
The first days of this program are, of course, difficult and require patience in adapting to a foreign environment. However, after the initial adjustment, students are sure to have an amazing and beneficial experience!
It is important to note that students who maintain daily connections to their country (ie those who are constantly on the phone, texting or browsing the internet) will find it significantly more difficult to adjust to their new environment.
Don’t lose sight of your goal of learning and learning a new language quickly! Full immersion with your teacher and their family who do not speak your language will ensure you achieve these goals.
Children under 18 must sign up for the cocooning option, which ensures they are constantly supervised by their teacher or an adult family member.
Courses can be combined with activities, and course and activity programs are available for those interested in both.

1. You live with a local family, like a local

A host family is possibly the most authentic language learning experience you can have. You will stay with a local family in their own home and live at the same pace. It means having a front-row seat to witness the real world. From breakfast to goodnight, everything is an opportunity to learn more about the customs and habits of the country and the region.
Your family will also introduce you to other local people: their relatives, neighbors and friends. These interesting encounters create fond memories and may even lead to lasting friendships. A host family is by far the best way to connect with local people and understand their lifestyle.
2. You are fully immersed in the language you are learning
I was able to spend a very valuable and pleasant time for 4 weeks only in English. The listening lessons in particular were very difficult for me, but they inspired me to practice more and more. Watching TV shows and movies after dinner was very interesting and an effective way to improve my hearing. With a homestay, you not only immerse yourself in the local way of life, but of course also in the local language. It’s everywhere: at home and outside, on radio, television, magazines and newspapers, on signposts and directions. You’ll see and hear how the language is used in real-life situations, and you’ll likely get a chance to hear different accents as well.
The immersive environment is also great in the sense that you have a ton of opportunities to practice speaking. The longer you stay in immersion, the quicker you start finding the words. Your pronunciation will improve if you listen to the language constantly and your ear adjusts to the native speaker’s way of speaking. You’ll also start picking up words and phrases that local people use, and before long they’ll switch from your passive vocabulary to your active vocabulary as you start using them.
3. Your individual language lessons will help you to make great progress
My English lessons are varied every day. Being the only student in the class has wonderful benefits: you have the teacher’s undivided attention, you progress at a perfectly appropriate pace and level, and you can work on the areas where you need help most. In one-to-one lessons, the teacher can take your personal learning preferences into account better than in group lessons, and tailor the content and methods for the best results. Our teachers can help you with general language, business language, special vocabulary (e.g. law, medicine) and preparation for exams. Whatever your goal, we can help.
As the only student, you will be able to interact with the tutor constantly and in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. The one-to-one study with your host family is a very safe environment for students of all ages and levels, and even for the more reserved or shy students who may find classroom interaction a little daunting.
4. You discover a country and a culture
I’m back in France after a two week English training course in the UK. I enjoyed my language stay. This immersion was a chance for me to improve my English and get to know English culture better and to discover different areas of the UK. First I spent a week in Ringwood at Sharon’s home and then I spent the second week in Horsley (Stroud) at Heather’s home. Both were very nice and I was very touched by their hospitality. Living in your teacher’s own home and participating in daily family life gives you complete immersion in the language you are learning. Language practice continues throughout the day: while eating, traveling and engaging in activities with your hosts. Your language host family guarantees effective teaching and a pleasant and convivial stay.
Our guest teachers have been chosen for their ability to make you feel at home, as well as their enthusiasm and expertise in one-to-one tuition. Your age, interests, personal and language needs will be taken into account by the local organizer when selecting the most suitable guest teacher for you.
A private bathroom is available on request and an airport transfer to/from your host teacher’s home can be arranged.
