More.” ( Farfan, 2019). Recently in 2021, I myself noticed that I s tarted to shop at Target more.

The lock down in 2020 caused many to go on to social media platforms a nd share their work

experiences. In my many days of scrolling on Tik Tok, I have seen nothing but great work

reviews from Target. Brian Cornell, the CEO of Target, wrote on his corporate website that he

believes diversity and inclusivity to be what makes his team and Ta rget better. This being said,

Brian Cornell, leads with an autocratic style of le adership. This means he mainly makes the

decisions without employee input, however, this did not hinder him from taking care of his staff .

In 2020 when the pandemic hit, many flocked to Targe t’s hiring events. This was because of

team culture and benefits.

All team members are expected to train in different areas. They are also given laid back

work attire, flexible shifts, free counseling, medical benefits, a 401K plan, and 10 percent off on

store items. The diversity comes in with different personalities and people who come toge ther to

make the target team. Since 2019, Target has increased re presentation for people of color in

exempt roles by 15% and women of color in similar positions by 23%. They also allow for

different personalities to be accepted. People with green, to red, to pink or purple hair are

allowed. More than one piercing is allowed. This is along with the laid back work uniform. They

may not have a say in most company decisions, however, if ever there are any problems, most

employees let their managers know, who let the ir managers know and so on. This goes to B rian

Cornell, who incorporates solutions to their problems in his many changes throughout the store.

They also incorporate many company fun days. Where employees get to participate in contests
