Why do I make mountains out of molehills?
To a certain extent the tendency to make mountains out of molehills has to do with worrying and having an obsessive way of thinking. In other words, as a result of the watch or clock not being exactly set on time, people with OCD become exceedingly uncomfortable, worrying about potential terrible consequences.
Is also known as making mountains out of molehills?
Making a mountain out of a molehill is an idiom referring to over-reactive, histrionic behaviour where a person makes too much of a minor issue.
What is molehill?
Definition of molehill
: a little mound or ridge of earth pushed up by a mole.
What is a mole hole called?
A molehill (or mole-hill, mole mound) is a conical mound of loose soil raised by small burrowing mammals, including moles, but also similar animals such as mole-rats, and voles. The word is first recorded in the first half of the 15th century.

Objectives
Acquire 2 x Civilian Afterburners (10.0m3) and deliver them to your agent.
Mission Type: Manufacturing
*No encounter.*
Overview
In the third mission of the Industrial career arc, you are tasked with learning the ropes of manufacturing items from blueprints. As for the mission objectives themselves, they can also be completed by just purchasing the modules needed off the market—though, in this particular case, the expense of doing so far outweighs the cost of production.
The blueprint copy comes with the two runs of Civilian Afterburner you need to manufacture them using the one resource they require, which is a small portion of Tritanium. You will very likely have more than enough Tritanium left over from the previous missions that you can use for this, as each run of the afterburner takes only about 70 Tritanium to create, give or take a bit depending on your relevant skills.
Purchasing Tritanium off the market to acquire what you need to build the afterburner is a fair second option if needed, liable to cost no more than a thousand isk or so. The completed modules, on the other hand, due to their limited use and manufacture outside the beginner career arcs, tend to be sold for very high prices—around half a million isk at the time of this writing.
A Basic Outline of Manufacturing
Manufacturing is another station service performed through the Science and Industry tab. It utilizes the minerals acquired from refining ore or breaking down items along with blueprints in order to manufacture new items, which can then be used or sold.
Checking the manufacturing slots available in the rookie system shows they are all currently in use and in how long they will be free. Looking one system over however, shows plenty of free slots available for use.
Finding a Station
Typically, Manufacturing stations are less common than simple reprocessing services; however, you can search for all available stations in your region through the Science and Industry panel by selecting Manufacturing under activity and changing the range in which your search is conducted.
Most manufacturing facilities you’ll have access to at this point in the game are public—first come, first serve—so it’s worth paying attention to whether or not there are free slots in whatever station you have selected. You’ll probably have to look at least one jump outside the rookie systems to find an open slot, thanks again to these systems’ popularity. When you find a slot that reads free, you can right click the station’s name in the window and set it as your destination for convenience.
Using the Blueprints
If you click on the blueprint you wish to manufacture from, you can get a reading of what materials and how many of each you’ll need for the manufacturing process. You’ll have to take both the blueprint and the required minerals to the station at which you’re going to manufacture them and deposit the items into your station inventory, remembering to multiply resources needed by the number of runs of the item you are creating. From there, you can install the job though the Science and Industry panel or by right clicking the blueprint and selecting manufacture.
Starting Production
After you’ve selected the slot and the blueprint and hit ok, you’ll get the quote window, which will tell you the total time and amount of minerals the process will take, along with confirmation that you have the minerals required. Hit accept quote and your job will start production.
Delivering Jobs
You can find active or finished jobs from the Science and Industry panel by selecting the Jobs tab, making sure the search options match the range, the state your job is in, the owner (you), and the proper activity (or just set them to all). Then hit get jobs.
If you select an active job, you’ll find the timer counting down, and when it reaches 0, the bottom right button will switch from cancel to deliver job. Hitting the deliver button deposits the finished items into the station inventory where the job was run, along with the blueprint if there are any runs left on it.
Note: You can queue a job on a manufacturing line that is currently occupied with another job; however, your job will not start until the currently active job and any queued after that one are finished. The time it will take your job to start, if installed, is represented with the yellow text under the next time till free column.
Finding the now active job under the job tabs of the S&I window. Once the timer runs down the finished item is ready to be delivered. The finished items are delivered into your station inventory with the BPC consumed as both of its runs were used up.
More on Blueprints
Blueprints can come in two varieties, Blue Print Copies (BPCs) and Blue Print Originals (BPOs) and it is important to know the difference between the two. This information tries to focus on important aspects for new members, though there is much more advanced information to be found which will eventually be covered in its own guide.
BPOs are sold at certain npc stations and are the games way of seeding most items into the market. Players can purchase these BPOs and take them to special space stations where they can spend time and isk researching their BPOs, decreasing the time it takes to produce each run of the blueprint (Production Level) or reduce the materials needed for each run (Material Level). The higher both of these levels are researched, the more efficient the BPO becomes, and the more it is worth to players as a result. BPOs can be used an infinite amount of times to produce items or BPCs (see below) without ever depleting, being consumed or running out of “runs”.
BPCs are essentially photocopies of BPOs, produced using the original in the blueprint copying process. BPCs cannot be researched like BPOs can, instead inheriting the Material and Productivity level of the original at the time of copying. BPCs also are created with a set number of runs, meaning they can only be used to produce the item they are for a limited amount of times before being consumed. BPCs are also not capable of being copied again and each BPO has a max number of runs that can be given to any BPCs made from it (differs depending on item).
The purpose of BPCs is to provide a means for owners of expensive and high level BPOs to create and sell cheaper copies to other players, whom in turn have access to more affordable if limited production options as a result. They can also be used to allow multiple manufacturing jobs to be run simultaneously to avoid having to level up several of the same BPOs to do so. Finally, it also allows owners of BPOs to keep them in a secure location where they only need to make copies, then move the copies elsewhere for manufacture or sale, limiting the risk of losing the expensive BPO during transport.
Protip: Some scamers will try to sell off BPCs as though they were BPOs. Always double check any potential trades, especially if it sounds too good to be true or your going to drop a lot of isk.

Industrialist (Producer)
The Industrialist – Producer (used to be called the Industry career agent) is one of the five career agents in the game, which show new players different types of PvE activities in EVE. The Industrialist – Producer missions teach you about mining, reprocessing, manufacturing, and hauling. In total these missions pay about 1.5M ISK in rewards.
Making Mountains of Molehills (1 of 10)
Type Mining Objective Mine 1,000 units of Veldspar. Ship suggestion Venture Rewards Miner I (granted upon acceptance)
Miner I has a better mining rate but longer cycle time compared to Civilian Miner.
Since this mission does not have any scripted combat, you may want to unfit your weapons and mount as many miner modules as your ship allows to expedite the process.
You may get a warning about “insufficient cargo space” if you’re flying a Venture – you can safely ignore it, as the game somehow “forgot” that your Venture has a special ore bay which can hold many times more ore than you need to mine for this mission.
The mission has created a “private” deadspace pocket for you with a single Veldspar asteroid. Once you warp there, target-lock the asteroid and activate your mining lasers.
If you aim to complete this and all subsequent missions without buying any ores/minerals off the market, you will need to mine about 6,000 units of Veldspar.
Once you pass a checkpoint by starting to mine in the mission location and receiving a message from the agent, the source of the Veldspar does not matter as long as you have at least 1,000 units at the time of turn-in.
Making Mountains of Molehills (2 of 10)
Type Industry Objective Reprocess Veldspar into at least 150 units of Tritanium minerals. Rewards Venture
Should you wish, you can instead buy Tritanium off the market or use any leftovers to complete the mission.
Reprocessing can be done by docking in a station, moving the ore to the Item Hangar, right-clicking on the ore and selecting “Reprocess”. Note that you pay a small fee for reprocessing.
Ores can only be reprocessed in increments of 100 – if you have 99, for example, you need to acquire at least one more unit to reprocess them.
If you have a new character (with around 50% reprocessing yield), you will need at least 300 Veldspar to acquire 150 Tritanium through reprocessing.
You can divide a stack of ores (or any other item) by pressing shift and drag-and-dropping it.
Making Mountains of Molehills (3 of 10)
Type Industry Objective Manufacture (or otherwise acquire) two units of 1MN Civilian Afterburner. Rewards 1MN Civilian Afterburner BPC (granted upon acceptance); Expanded Cargohold I
To manufacture items, you can right-click on the BPC, select “Use Blueprint”, and supply the required minerals for building them. To produce two modules, increase the “number of runs” to 2 to get an updated quote. Wait for the manufacturing to finish, open the industry tab in the station menu on the upper right side of your screen, and click “Deliver” to obtain the items.
You cannot produce more than two modules from the BPC you were given – BPCs (unlike Blueprint Originals (BPOs)) can only be used a limited number of times (in this case, 2).
Producing all two of the required modules costs 128 Tritanium.
As in several other missions, you can simply buy the modules off the market and turn them in instead. In addition, you can also use the “corvette trick”. Take out the 1MN Civilian Afterburner module from your corvette, trash the ship, and click “Board my Corvette” button on the station menu – a new one with all the default modules will be produced, allowing you to take out another afterburner module.
You may need to right-click the Afterburner and “repackage” to turn it in (if you are turning in a used one).
Expanded Cargohold I increases the size of your ship’s cargohold capacity at the expense of reduced structure hitpoints and maximum velocity.
Making Mountains of Molehills (4 of 10)
Type Mining / Industry Objective Destroy hostile NPCs and mine enough Veldspar to reprocess into 7,000 units of Tritanium. Rewards Miner I
You have to destroy two rogue drone NPCs (rats) as part of the mission. Fit any ship with at least one weapon, warp to the deadspace area, and destroy the rats.
Then you can either go back to the deadspace location in a mining ship (the rats will not respawn) and mine enough Veldspar (about 3,500 units) to refine into 7,000 units of Tritanium, or you can buy the Tritanium from the market.
If you were following this guide, you may well have enough Veldspar and/or Tritanium left over from previous missions such as mission 1 to complete the mission without any additional mining or market purchase.
WD EWAR L
2 x Drone Moth Apis
Making Mountains of Molehills (5 of 10)
Type Courier Objective Transport Crates of Electronic Parts (40 m³) to another station. Rewards 1MN Afterburner (granted upon acceptance); Expanded Cargohold I
Don’t forget to put the mission item into your ship’s cargohold before you undock.
Clicking the “set destination” button will plot a course to the station where you have to drop off the item; the next stargate/station on your route will be highlighted in yellow on your overview.
Once you get to the destination station, you can start a conversation with your agent remotely to complete the mission, but you must return to them to start the next one.
If you’re not sure where to return to, you can look up any agents you have previously interacted with in your address book (accessible through the “People & Places” button on the NeoCom).
Making Mountains of Molehills (6 of 10)
Type Industry Objective Manufacture (or otherwise acquire) 20 units of Cap Booster 25. Rewards Cap Booster 25 BPC (granted upon acceptance)
As with many other missions, the quickest way to complete this mission is to buy the Cap Boosters from the market.
To manufacture items, you can right-click on the BPC, select “Use Blueprint”, and supply the required minerals for building them. To produce 20 modules, increase the “number of runs” to 2 (this item is manufactured in batches of 10) to get an updated quote. Wait for the manufacturing to finish, open the industry tab in the station menu on the upper right side of your screen, and click “Deliver” to obtain the items.
Producing all two of the required modules costs 329 Tritanium, 80 Pyerite, and 25 Mexallon.
Making Mountains of Molehills (7 of 10)
Type Courier Objective Transport 20 x Cap Booster 25 (20 m³) to another station. Rewards Overdrive Injector System I
As usual for hauling missions, don’t forget to put the mission item into your ship’s cargohold before undocking.
Overdrive Injector System I increases the ship’s velocity at the expense of reduced cargohold capacity.
Making Mountains of Molehills (8 of 10)
Type Industry Objective Manufacture a faction-specific Civilian Shuttle. Rewards Faction-appropriate Civilian Shuttle BPC (granted upon acceptance)
To manufacture the shuttle, right-click on the BPC, select “Use Blueprint”, and supply the required minerals for building them. Wait for the manufacturing to finish, open the industry tab in the station menu on the upper right side of your screen, and click “Deliver” to obtain the item.
Production costs 2,640 units of Tritanium.
Unfortunately, you cannot circumvent the manufacturing by buying the shuttle off the market this time – your agent wants a specific kind of Civilian Shuttle which isn’t available on the market.
Making Mountains of Molehills (9 of 10)
Type Encounter Objective Mine some ore, destroy the ambushing rat, and retrieve Production Assistant.
Fit your ship with both a weapon and a mining module.
When you mine Kernite ores inside the mission’s deadspace pocket for a minute or two, a single rat shows up.
The rat drops a cargo container when destroyed and you can loot Production Assistant that you need to turn in.
As you fly back to the station, feel free to check the amusing description of the Production Assistant you just “rescued”, along with the fact that they fall under the “Livestock” item category.
The asteroids in this site contain around 7 000 m3 of Kernite, which is otherwise only found in low-sec, null-sec or Wormhole space. It is worth spending the additional time in your Venture mining all the ore, be it for profit or later reprocessing into minerals for your own use.
Making Mountains of Molehills (10 of 10)
The easiest way to complete the mission is to simply turn in the same frigate granted to you when you accept Explorer mission 2. To do so, repackage the frigate if it was assembled before handing it in.
You may also buy the frigate off the market, as usual.
Actually manufacturing the frigate requires a wide variety of minerals, some of which are reprocessed from ores only found in low-sec or null-sec systems.
The table below lists the required amount of minerals (note that each BPC could have different material requirements depending on the material efficiency – the table uses 2% material efficiency as given from the agent)
Minerals Required for Manufacturing Objectives Ship to Build
Tritanium
Pyerite
Mexallon
Isogen
Nocxium

Megacyte Tormentor 21,111 2,322 4,222 211 42 21 Bantam 21,111 7,600 2,322 475 4 2 Navitas 17,945 4,434 3,379 265 32 12 Burst 16,890 3,167 4,222 159 21 6 2
Note that in EVE manufacturing, time can be exchanged for money and vice-versa. Keep this in mind should you go deeper into manufacturing – you can try to acquire all the necessary materials yourself, or you can pay someone else to do it for you (by buying their ore, minerals, or modules/ships via the market), and it’s up to you to find the right balance and make the most of both your time and (in-game) money.
Making Mountains of Molehills Mission Guide
This mission series is part of the new player tutorial process for the Gallente
race. It works specifically to assist the young industrialist in their
journey to learn how to gather materials and create through manufacturing.
These 10 quests will net you some valuable resources, ships, and knowledge and
should be something every aspiring EVE Online crafter goes through!
The series is a set of
10 missions. I did these over several days mostly because gathering
resources and manufacturing can be exhausting and takes a bit of time, but you
could certainly get these done within a day of playing. Just remember not to
accept a mission until you are prepared to complete it. Putting a mission
off often loses you bonus rewards which can be sometimes even more impressive
than the original reward.
This guide will walk you through each mission, step by step, and offer tips for
the new player. If you have any questions regarding these missions that
aren’t answered here then please
visit our forums to ask!
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 1 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Mine all the veldspar ore in the asteroid field your agent
sent you to and bring it back to your agent.
REWARD: Miner 1
BONUS REWARD: 124000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: You will be warping to a nearby asteroid field that will
contain mostly barren asteroids. Use your overview to find a mineable one and
approach it. Set your distance and just start mining! Once you have enough, warp
back to the station to complete the mission. If you accepted this mission
without having a cargo hold large enough to keep all of the veldspar, no
worries! You’ll just need to make two trips. Take your first batch back to the
station and place it in your items window, then warp back out to get the rest.
In order to complete the mission, all of the veldspar will need to be in one
stack in your items window.
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 2 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Your agent wants you to find an asteroid belt and mine at
least 333 units of veldspar, which you should then refine. Go back to your agent
and talk again once you’ve done so. In return, Timestre Facent will give you a
new mining frigate.
REWARD: New frigate ship
BONUS REWARD: 42000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: Undock and right click in space. Choose to warp to one
of the local asteroid fields then mine the required amount of veldspar. Return
to the station, put the acquired veldspar into your items window then use the
refining plant window from your station information. Refining the veldspar will
turn it into what you need to complete the mission. Save the materials because
you will need them for the next mission!
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 3 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Build two civilian afterburners.
REWARD: Expanded Cargohold 1
BONUS REWARD: 76000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: This is EVE Online’s version of crafting and a good
introduction to the basics. The materials left over from your previous mission
may not be enough to complete this mission so if you need more, you’ll have to
head out to gather then refine additional veldspar.. You need to be on a station
that has a Science & Industry section (found on your station info window) and an
Industry skill of level one. The tutorial should have the directions to walk you
through this part but if you were silly enough to close your tutorial, here is
that info:
Right-click your blueprint and select manufacturing. Press Pick Installation.
This window allows you to choose where you want to
manufacture the items. Just keep the default settings for now In the lower part
of the window is a list of all the assembly lines in your
current station. Find an assembly line in the list that says Now under “Next
free time. Then press Use assembly line.
You should now be back in the manufacturing window. There you can set the
parameters of the job.
Installation: This is the location of the assembly line you just selected
Blueprint: This is the blueprint you are about to use for manufacturing
Input/Output: The input and output hangars for the job
Runs: This sets how many batches you want to produce. When you are producing
modules or ships this will always be one item per
batch. Smaller items such as ammo can be 100 items per batch.
If you are on an industry mission, change the runs to 2 but leave the other
settings. Press OK.
You should now have a window quoting you the total production materials,
production time, costs and other assembled information
about your production job. If everything is as it should be then you can click
Accept Quote to start the job.
Click Science & industry on your Neocom to bring up the Science and Industry
window where you can watch you production job.
Press Get Jobs to get information about all currently active manufacturing jobs.
When the job state has changed from In progress
to Ready you can select it in the list and press Deliver to retrieve the items
produced.
Congrats, you’ve made something and completed this mission!
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 4 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Destroy the rogue drones and mine the veldspar for your agent.
You’ll need to refine the ore into minerals when you return to the station.
REWARD: Miner 1
BONUS REWARD: 102000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: Warp to location and be ready for a small battle! Two
drones will attack you immediately. They aren’t difficult kills but if you
haven’t yet added shield boosters they might do a fair amount of damage. Take
them out then go ahead and mine the materials you need. I loaded up on veldspar
and got more than enough plus extra to refine into the required tritanium.
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 5 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Deliver items safely to the destination.
REWARD: Cargohold I
BONUS REWARD: 42000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: This is just a simple delivery mission. Be sure to grab
the items from your items window and drop them into your cargohold. Set
destination, undock, then be on your way!
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 6 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Create 20 units of Cap Booster 25.
REWARD: 91000 credits
BONUS REWARD: 100000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: Another mission that has you creating things! For this
one, you’ll need a wider variety of materials. The Cap Boosters take tritanium,
mexallon, and pyrite. The best hope you have of getting all three of these in
reasonable amounts is by mining Plagioclase asteroids. If you can’t find them in
your immediate system, a nearby system will likely have it. Don’t travel to
anything less than 0.7 security and you should be okay.
Make your stacks of Cap Boosters and turn them in for reward. Keep the Cap
Boosters for the following mission!
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 7 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Deliver your new Cap Boosters to the stated destination.
REWARD: Injector System I
BONUS REWARD: 10000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: Put the new Cap Boosters into your cargohold from the
items window and set destination! All you need to do is drop it off to complete
this mission.
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 8 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Create a civilian shuttle.
REWARD: 34000 credits
BONUS REWARD: 46000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: After all the previous manufacturing that you have done,
this should be cake! We are just making an itty bitty ship and if you’ve been
saving the materials from the past missions then you may just have enough to do
this one without hunting for materials! This item needs tritanium and quite a
bit of it. Luckily that is easily accessible from refining the veldspar that you
can find in any of the nearby asteroid fields.
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 9 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Fly to the objective location, mine some ore and destroy the
pirates that show up.
REWARD: 47000 credits
BONUS REWARD: 44000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: Finally! A little bit of death and destruction with all
that manufacturing! Warp into the location and start mining one of the nearby
asteroids. After a couple minutes of mining, a pirate ship will fly in and start
attacking. This is an easy kill and should be totally doable with the newbie rig
set up. Once you’ve destroyed the pirate, get close enough to loot the cargo
container and grab the researcher and take it back to the station.
Making Mountains of Molehills: Mission 10 of 10
OBJECTIVE: Create a frigate ship
REWARD: Cargo tugger ship
BONUS REWARD: 179000 credits
MISSION DETAILS: This mission takes quite a few new materials that you
probably haven’t worked with before and ones that can be a chore to find. You’ll
find most of what you need in 0.7 systems (use your map to find these systems)
but there are a couple that are needed from less secure areas. The zydrine and
nocxium can be difficult to get for a newbie so if you can’t find them in the
allotted time, you can always buy what you need. It’s not very cost effective
but it’s a bit better than letting the mission expire. Luckily you have plenty
of time to hunt for materials!
Congrats! By the time you’re done with this series you’ve acquired skills,
credits, ships, ship gear, and a much better understanding
of how to play EVE Online!
Can’t complete “Making mountains of moleholes” : Eve
So I made the 2 Civilian Afterburners in the industry tab, but when I want to complete the mission I get the error message: “One or more mission objectives have not been completed. For example, you must deliver 2 x 1MN Civilian Afterburner to complete this mission. Please check your mission journal for further information.”.
I really don’t know what to do at this point, I’ve tried relogging, moving the afterburners to my item hangar and back, leaving the station and coming back later. Anyone know how to fix this?
The afterburners in my inventory.

Problem with Mountains Out of Molehills. Bug or am I stupid?
Currently stuck on step 3/10. Quest tracker says I need to have 2 warp drives in my cargo hold, in the base to complete. I ran the blueprint they gave twice and built the warp drives, they’re currently sitting in my active ship’s cargo hold, in the station I’m told I need to be in, but the quest won’t complete. I’ve confirmed that they are the exact ones they need to be, I’m in the right place, and they’re in the cargo hold of my active ship. The conversation with quest giver confirms the location, but says I don’t have the engines. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Edit: I’ve tried moving them back and forth between the item hanger and a different ship. I’ve tried undocking and redocking with them in the hold, and relaunching the game. Nothing has worked.

I completed the final mission and now I have no more missions from that agent and she didn’t refer me to anyone else so where do I go to find more missions?

now you fly around and find one 😛
or the agent that you had for the mission show info on them.
then click on the corp tab for that agent.
then go to the agents tab on that agent.
BAM! a whole list of all agents you can use with that corp.

Thanks a bunch. Is there anyway to tell if the mission is going to be too hard like I have heard people talk about Level 1,2 and 3 missions etc.
Also if im looking for some extra cash is it just best to mine and sell the raw stuff?

Mining and selling the raw ore might be more profitable than selling the refined materials, but not necessarily. Check the prices on the ore your mining and the refined component first. Know how much refined stuff you’ll get for each load of ore. You’ll also have to take station refining efficiency into account (most places have a base refinement yield of 50%, but this is easily increased by the right skills.)
For kill missions it’s safe to assume you’ll need a destroyer if you don’t have high frigate skills and T2 weapons if it’s a level 2 mission. Even better than a destroyer is a Caracal with five light assault missile launchers, since it can easily tank any level 2 without batting an eye. Level 3’s and 4’s can, depending on your skills, be done in a variety of ships classes from stealth bombers to battleships depending the specific mission being run. Level 3’s and 4’s rely heavily on properly utilizing tanking power over ganking ability.

Basic rule of thumb is:
Level 1 = Frigate
Level 2 = Cruiser
Level 3 = BattleCruiser
Level 4 = BattleShip
Level 1 agents give Level 1 missions, Level 2 agents give Level 2 missions, etc.
In each level of missions there’s usually a couple that are significantly harder than the rest. You’ll find out which ones soon enough, I guess.
