This mod provides an alternate folder for animation data. Usually, everybody shares the same folder, so they all use the same animation. By providing an extra source of animations, the game can play two kinds of animation of the same type!

To that end, this mod forces all vanilla races to read animation data from [“Data\meshes\actors\character\animation\PCEA\”], leaving the vanilla path open for custom races to use.

This mod requires a custom race

there is no way to get around that.

The reason is because you cannot animate individual actors in Skyrim, you animate the whole race instead. A better description of this mod would be “Race Exclusive Animation Path”, but since I personally use a custom race, this mod does give “PC Exclusive Animation Path” for me.

If for some reason you have a personal vendetta against custom races (maybe you’re a Loremaster) use CUSTOM RACES by d_rail. In layman terms you’ll be able to use this mod with “vanilla races”

If you’re not using a custom race at the moment, there are plenty of custom races around, one of which might suit you, for example:

Installation:

1. Install the main file (PCEAn 3.x.x)

2. Install the 3.x.x update (if newer than your main file)

3. Install FNIS

4. Open “\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe”

5. Tick the xp32’s “PC Exclusive Animation Path” option (tick also other options ONLY if you have them)

6. Click “Update FNIS Behavior”

7. Make sure “PC Exclusive Animation Path – .esp” is loaded at the last order (bottom)

How to use:

Put the custom animations in these respective folders:

PC (custom races) = use “Data\meshes\actors\character\animation\”

NPC (vanilla races) = use “Data\meshes\actors\character\animation\PCEA\”

In essence, this mod is “install and forget”. Since you’re using the normal animation path, just install custom animations as usual. You can install the animations via NMM and they will work

If you want to make a vanilla race use the normal folder then simply deactivate the corresponding plugin. So, if you want that only Argonians to use the normal animation path, deactivate PC Exclusive Animation Path – Argonian.esp and leave everything else activated.

FAQ

– If you got T-pose or no animation played the it could be means:

1. You are installing and using FNIS incorrectly

2. The animations file is missing

– If you got problem with shield, magic cast while run, sneak, walk also holding torch. You need patch from FNIS

[Additional Information for PCEA ]

If you’re using mod plugin (esp) that contain script that related to FNIS spell (pinup poser, minilover, AP, asx etc)

then you’ll need to lure the script with vanilla race or it will cause CTD

1. whenever you start skyrim, load a save game where you play as vanilla race (e.g nord)

2. Use one pose from any feature the mod that cause CTD (faster if you using pinup poser, use any pose)

3. Load your main character (custom races) that you want to play

If you are using custom race which use Update.esm, make sure they are updated/remade again with CK 1.8 since older update.esm (1.7 or older) have many incompatibilities with 1.8 skyrim. especially at Race section. Mostly, if you enter some place with those races, you’ll got CTD

This is the last version that I (Raestloz) will ever release.With this version, I announce that I will no longer update PC Exclusive Animation Path.I won’t fix any bugs that comes in this version.If Bethesda releases any new patch which alter file paths (like version 1.6 which will include Mounted Combat), I will not update this mod. My gaming days are numbered, and I wish to make use of what’s left with playing, not modding=====================IMPORTANT!=====================The method used in this version is radically different than the one used in previous versions. Paths used in version 1.4 and below will no longer work. Perhaps because animations are hard-coded to use specific name which includes file extension====================INSTALLATION====================Refer to the Installation Guide, which can be found under “Miscellaneous” section in Skyrim NexusNote that this mod is intended for use with a custom race. I personally use Ashen myself. The reason is because you cannot animate individual actors in Skyrim, you animate the whole race instead. A better description of this mod would be “race exclusive animation path”, but since I personally use a custom race, this mod does give “PC Exclusive Animation Path” for me.This mod by itself is just a resource. You’ll need to implement it yourself. This means you NEED to at least learn how to use the Creation Kit, and how the game works. I will not provide the plugin for you, as there are far too many possible combinations for me to try.If you’re using a custom race, included is a plugin that forces all vanilla races of both genders to use the custom animation path, so you put your desired custom animation files in the vanilla folder. This approach ensures absolute maximum compatibility with every single animation replacer mod out there, although you cannot have gender specific animations, it works great if you play with only one gender (for example, I only play as a female)NOTE THAT A PLUGIN CALLED VANILLAUSESCUSTOM WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED. DEACTIVATE THIS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE, AND ACTIVATE IT ONLY IF YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU WANT TO USE IT====================HOW TO USE====================The custom behavior files I provide causes any race that uses them use the AnimationsCustom folder.Depending on how you utilize the mod, you have 2 ways to use it:1. If you assign the custom behavior file to your custom race, put the desired custom animations in AnimationsCustom\gender\2. This file has to be in “Animations” folder. This jump is shared by both genders (females and males will use the same animation)====================UNINSTALLATION====================Simply revert all the changes you make when implementing this mod. Idles – unsheathed,sheathed,magics, sitting2. General movements – walking, running, jumping, sneaking3. Blocking – with all kinds of weapon, except staff bash4. Hand to Hand power attacksThis mod does not redirect the paths for these animations:1. First Person animations2. Attack animations. Except h2h power attacks3. Landing (after jumping)4. Sheath/unsheath5. Killmoves6. Craft stations7. Other general animations not mentioned above – horse riding, sandboxes, swimmingFor a full list of which animations are redirected, consult the original XML I provide, which can be found in Original XML for reference folderThese are the XML files that I use to create the behavior files. If you cannot make heads over tails of what they are and what they contain, they’re certainly not for you. I will not even try to help you here.Note that while the behavior files that this mod use has XML extension, they’re actually encoded havok behavior data. You cannot edit them with a text editor.====================KNOWN ISSUE====================There is an issue where the character will go into a half-T pose, like being crucified. This will be more apparent if your game lags due to lack of processing capability. This is because the game cannot find the animation data fast enough, and as such the character skeleton is not animated. This half-T pose is the default pose the skeleton has. There is literally nothing that I can do for this. I’ve read somewhere that compressing the files (packing them into BSA files) actually speeds up the data fetching operation, but it will be far too cumbersome to maintain, and I have never personally tried it====================SPECIAL THANKS====================1.
