Exporting Logic project to an MP3
What is the easiest way to export to an MP3 file so I can email it? The only option I see is to export to an AIF file or Final Cut (which I don’t have).
How to Export your Project (Track) in Logic Pro X
Do you want to export your final track in Logic Pro to a WAV-file, AIFF or MP3?
First you need to make sure you are happy with your final mix of your music production. If you are, this is how you export your final track:
Step 1 – Project End Marker
Set the end point of your project (track) either by using the end bar number in the transport controls at the top, or by dragging the project end marker in your project.
Step 2 – Open up the Bounce Window
Even though there is an option called “export”, that is more for exporting individual tracks, regions etc. When you want to export your final finished music production, you should use the “bounce” window. Go to: File – Bounce – Project or Session.
Step 3 – Choose File Types and Settings
This is where you can choose what file types you want to export your music to. In the PCM destination you can choose Wave or AIFF. And you can also choose to export to MP3. As you can see from this screenshot you have the option to export to WAVE and MP3 at the same time.
You can also choose what quality you want to export your music in. For WAVE-files 44.1kHz and 16-bit is the standard for professional distribution. Tip: Select “Include audio tail” to make sure the audio does not cut off abruptly in the end of your track. And set normalize to on, to make sure the loudest peak is pushed up to 0dB (peak loudness).
Exporting MP3 Files from Logic Pro
If you’re using Logic Pro to create your tracks, just follow the directions below to export them as 320 kbps MP3 files.
When exporting from Logic Pro, you’ll first need to select the section of your audio file that you want to export. Once you have that selected, click File at the top of the program, then click Bounce > Project or Section.
After clicking that, a Bounce window will pop-up. Within that window, be sure to select MP3 as your Destination in the top left corner. In that same corner, also be sure that MP3 is highlighted in blue by clicking on it. Once it’s highlighted, you’ll be able to set the parameters or your MP3.
When MP3 is highlighted, you’ll see the field Bit Rate Stereo. Use the Bit Rate Stereo drop-down menu to select 320 kbps. Once that’s done, click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
After clicking OK, you’ll be able to select your download location. Once you do that and save it, your audio file will be saved and you’ll be all set to upload it to Digital DJ Pool 🙂
