All Secret Treasures in Tunic

Tunic’s late and post-game content is almost exclusively tied up in dozens of cryptic puzzles which will take you across the island all over again in search of fairies, manual pages, and more. One of the deepest and most convoluted mysteries of the game centers around the Secret Treasures, which are twelve enigmatic golden items locked away behind riddles and puzzles. Each one will grant the player an achievement, so read on to find out how to get them.

Secret Treasure 1 (Mr Mayor)

Screenshot by Gamepur

The first Secret Treasure can be found as soon as you grab the Hero’s Grave Key at the start of the game, though if you’re on your first playthrough you likely won’t even realize there’s a chest hidden away. In the room where you find manual page 10/11, right after the locked door, take a look at the wall. If you’ve learned a bit about the Holy Cross, you should recognize the pattern there. Tap out the pattern on either side using your D-pad or arrow keys, and a hidden door will swing open. Inside, a chest holds your prize.

If you can’t figure out the pattern on the wall, don’t worry: it’s right, up, left, up, right, down, right, up, left, down, left, up, right, up, left, down (or the mirrored equivalent).

Secret Treasure 2 (A Secret Legend)

Screenshot by Gamepur

Even by the standards of Tunic’s secrets, the Secret Legend treasure is a doozy. First you’ll need access to the Cathedral, and to go visit it at night (you can change between day and night by sleeping in the Old House). Turn left on entry, and you’ll find yourself in a nice little room lined with bookshelves. Press A at the wall to reveal a secret door, which will lead to a chest. Behind that chest, you can press A once again at another wall to reveal a second secret door.

Follow the path down and you’ll eventually come to a cavern with a pearlescent bridge spanning it. Cross the bridge, and you’ll be right by the chest. However, there’s a problem: the bridge is blocking access to the chest. The solution is, if not straightforward, at least elegant. Continue on past the chest and you’ll unlock what amounts to a back door to the Cathedral. Return to the Old House, sleep your way into daytime, and head back to the Cathedral via the door you just unlocked, using the laurels to zip across the columns in the graveyard. In the light of day, the bridge will have disappeared, granting you access to your next Secret Treasure.

Secret Treasure 3 (Sacred Geometry)

Screenshot by Gamepur

The key to obtaining this Triforce-inspired treasure can be found on page 53 of the manual. In the scribbled hints and clues, you can find reference to the Overworld’s windmill and the patterns on its arms. Travel to the windmill and pay attention to the tears on its sails. Starting at the appropriate square and following the directions from the manual, spiralling inwards, tap out the various directions on your D-pad or arrow keys. At the end of the code, a chest will appear holding your reward.

If you can’t figure out the pattern, don’t worry: it’s down, left, left, up, up, right, right, left, down, right, up, down.

Secret Treasure 4 (Vintage)

Screenshot by Gamepur

The fourth Secret Treasure is another one that requires going to a specific place and tapping out the code, and the steps to figure out any of it might make it one of the toughest puzzles in the game.

First of all, you’re going to need page 1 of the manual. That alone requires you to figure out the meaning of the Golden Path and unlock the door at the top of the mountain on the Overworld. With page 1 in hand, you need to follow a cryptic hint at the bottom of page 51 that advises you to stand in water doing nothing for 60 seconds and then open the manual to page 1.

A secret clue will appear at the bottom of the letter from the developers, with a picture of a small bit of beach on the Overworld and a haiku in the game’s runic language. Translated, that haiku reads: “The softest feather, corrected eleven times, departed once more.” This seemingly nonsensical poem is actually the secret code you need to tap out at the location above: down (i.e. a very soft kind of feather) once, right (or correct) eleven times, and finally left (or departed) twelve times (that is, once more than the previous step).

Secret Treasure 5 (Just Some Pals)

Screenshot by Gamepur

This Secret Treasure, a collection of golden skulls, is a little different from the others. If you explore the Old Burying Ground outside the Cathedral, you may come across a couple of golden skulls (they might look slightly reddish at night). In truth, there are four of these skulls, and you need to nudge each one into a small puddle by a gravestone.

Three of them are fairly straightforward to find, but one is nestled behind a grave with a cross on it in a larger pond, and is easy to miss. Once you’ve knocked the final skull into the puddle, a chest will appear with the treasure.

Secret Treasure 6 (Regal Weasel)

Screenshot by Gamepur

This treasure, a replica of the crown visible in publisher Finji’s logo, isn’t accessible until you’ve picked up the Magic Dagger, the Magic Rod, and the Magic Orb. Once you have them, head down to the Lower Forest, where the broken golden monolith is located. Over on the western side of this area, you’ll find a tall, narrow platform, with a single slime enemy and a sparkling chest hiding tantalizingly out of view.

It might seem impossible to get up there, but as usual the manual has your back. On page 53, a scribbled hint will clue you in to the solution. You need to equip all three magic items, then lock on to the slime and press the buttons for the Magic Dagger and the Magic Rod at the same time. This will fire off a long-range blast of ice magic, freezing the slime in place. Quickly use the Magic Orb, and you’ll be able to grapple to the frozen slime and gain access to the chest. If you fudge the timing slightly and accidentally kill the slime, don’t panic: quit to the menu and reload your save, and you’ll re-enter the area from the doorway rather than respawning back at the last shrine.

Secret Treasure 7 (Spring Falls)

Screenshot by Gamepur

In the grand scheme of things, this Secret Treasure is pretty uncomplicated to pick up. Later on in the game, you may come across some friendly fairies locked away behind various puzzles across the world. These puzzles are generally a little more straightforward than the Secret Treasure ones, simply requiring you to go to the right spot and figure out a Holy Cross pattern to tap out, but there are 20 of the game so it’ll take a while to find them.

Luckily, to nab this Secret Treasure, you only need to find half of them. Once you’ve freed ten fairies, return to the Secret Gathering Place behind a high-up waterfall in the Overworld, and the chest containing this golden flower will appear.

Secret Treasure 8 (Power Up)

Screenshot by Gamepur

The next Secret Treasure requires cross-referencing between clues on two different pages of the manual. On page 34, the map of the Ruined Atoll, you may have noticed the compass in the bottom-left corner. At each cardinal direction, someone has scribbled in musical notes signifying a particular melodic movement. Using that as a guide, head to the Old House in the Overworld (where the bed is), and have a listen to the windchime outside. It’s generally easier to hear if you head there at night, and if you turn down the other volume sliders in the options.

Pay close attention to the melody the chime plays, and map it to the requisite directions from the compass to reveal a Holy Cross pattern. It’s generally grouped in two-note sections, except for when it’s a chord: an upward movement denotes up, a downward movement means down, if it stays on the same note it means right, and if it plays a chord that’s left. Tap out the pattern outside the Old House and the chest will appear.

It can be tricky to make it out just right, so if you’re having trouble, here’s the code: up, down, right, up, down, left, up, down, left, right, down, left, right, up.

Secret Treasure 9 (Back to Work)

Screenshot by Gamepur

This one may be one of the most quietly devious puzzles in the game. If you take a look at page 11 of the manual, which outlines the basic UI of the game and features a screenshot of a very early section of the Overworld, you might notice something off. In the manual, there’s a chest by the teleport pad, but when you visit that location in the game there’s nothing to be found. How curious.

Cast your gaze back to the manual, and to the info box pointing at the chest. See those dots scribbled in? Tap out the pattern, starting from the largest one, and the chest will materialize in the real world.

If you’re having trouble figuring it out, the pattern is: right, down, left, up, left, left, down, right, right, down, down.

Secret Treasure 10 (Phonomath)

Screenshot by Gamepur

This is one of the easier treasures to find, but it can still be pretty tricky to locate, and you won’t be able to access it until you have the laurels and are able to sleep in the Old House to return to the daytime. Once you do, return to the Ruined Atoll (which is only accessible in the daytime), and head to the west coast of the peninsula.

On the map on page 34, you might notice a scrawled-in arrow pointing out west from that location, and sure enough, should you dash out to sea from the beach, you’ll find a sandy outcrop where the chest holding this Secret Treasure will be waiting for you.

Secret Treasure 11 (Dusty)

Screenshot by Gamepur

This is another treasure that you’ll need the laurels to grab, but luckily you may well come across it as you’re scouring the map to find the Hero’s Graves in the late game. By the Hero’s Grave near the Fortress of the Eastern Vault, you can spy a couple of small stepping stones leading north across the water (indicated on the map by a scrawled arrow). Zip across them with the laurels and you can enter a cave with a few piles of leaves on the ground and a broom leaning against the wall.

Slash at the leaves with your stick or sword to dispel them, and once you’ve disposed of the final pile a chest will appear. Open it up to receive a golden broom.

Secret Treasure 12 (Forever Friend)

Screenshot by Gamepur

The final Secret Treasure is easily missed, but as is often the case with these secrets a subtle clue is hidden in the manual. On page 41 you can find a map of the teleport hub, accessible by praying at any of the yellow pads found at various points around the island. You might think you’ve unmasked all the secrets hiding in this area, but there’s one last one to be found.

Between the main teleport hub and the lonely one to the south, you can zip out westward on some invisible platforms, as indicated by a scribbled-in dotted line on the map page in the manual. Find the right spot and you can use the laurels to dash out away from the main path, eventually coming across the chest that holds your prize.

“Softest feather”? : TunicGame

I really don’t get this puzzle (the hidden one on page 1). I have the solution, but nobody is really explaining why it is what it is, and I don’t understand why it makes sense.

Where to find every Secret Treasure in Tunic

Here is our guide to find every Secret Treasure in Tunic. Find all the Secret Treasures for an exciting surprise!

Tunic is full of unexpected twists and turns, from hard combat to innovative worldbuilding and a wealth of hidden secrets. A disassembled Golden Obelisk, Secret Fairies, and a set of 12 Secret Treasures and much more. As far as we know, these jewels are the ultimate challenge in Tunic.

Follow our guide to find them all, and you’ll be able to solve Tunic’s final major puzzle. Indeed, gathering these 12 treasures is required to access everything the developers planned, including the secret Glyph Tower, which is only accessible after completing this quest.

What are the Secret Treasures in Tunic?

Tunic contains 12 hidden treasures, each of which, as the name says, is a step above the rest. You won’t be able to locate them as easily as you did your sword or wand. On Page 22, there’s a tip that displays a door diagram as well as the secret hallway from the back of the Old House. This indicates that you can enter a room with 12 pedestals by heading south-east through a hidden tunnel in the same room where you got the Shield. A distinct Secret Treasure is hidden in each one.

Directions for obtaining all of the Secret Treasures are hidden on various pages of the Tunic in-game Manual, and are usually indicated with blue pen over the regular drawings. Obtaining Page 45 will also provide you with more detailed instructions, including a diagram of the area and a list of which pages correspond to which of the Secret Treasures.

Tunic Gameplay

Every Secret Treasure in Tunic

Each Tunic Secret Treasure location is listed here, along with some tips to help you out.

Mr. Mayor

Travel to the first room with an unlocked door, which leads to the East Forest. There is a pattern on the wall in this chamber; use the Dpad to trace the trail from the bottom left to open the door. Walk through to find this treasure.

A Secret Legend

Go to the cathedral after dark and turn west once inside. Pass the ladder and dash into the back of the room’s wall. Cross the bridge in front of you and open the door at the far end once this new path becomes available. The ultimate goal is to find a secret ladder at the Cathedral’s main entrance, of all places. Sleep to progress to daytime and come back to the bridge once you’ve done so. You’ll find the treasure here.

Sacred Geometry

When looking at the patterns on the sails from the Windmill, the single white mark indicates the beginning and the double white mark indicates the end. When the Rope crosses the sails, you change positions from inside to outside. This can be solved with the hint on Page 53.

Tip: Down – Left – Left – Up – Up – Right – Right – Left – Down – Right – Up – Down

Vintage

Travel to the Overworld section with the small island beach and pathway. The sandbank path will appear as Golden on the Overworld Map page. When you open Page 1 of the Instruction Manual after standing in water for 60 seconds with the game sound turned off, a new message will show beneath the developer message. It reads, “The softest feather, eleven times corrected, Departed once more.” This can be solved with the hints on Page 51 and Page 1.

Tip: In the Overworld, stand in the place noted on the page and click the following button combo: Down, Right 11 times, and then Left 12 times.

Just Some Pals

The four Golden Skulls can be found in the Swamp’s southern regions. Find the only gravestone in the area, which has a tiny puddle behind it. Roll your Golden Skulls into the puddle one by one until the Secret Treasure appears. This can be solved with the hint on Page 39.

Regal Weasel

Visit the East Garden section to find the Golden Obelisk. Head south until the trail bends northwest, and you’ll come upon an enemy that can’t be defeated with ordinary weapons. To create a ranged ice attack, use the Magic Blade and Fire Rod at the same time to freeze the enemy. Then Grapple towards it with the Magic Jar to open the chest. This can be solved with the hint on Page 53.

Use the Magic Blade and the Fire Rod at the same time

Spring Falls

To collect this Secret Treasure, you must first locate all 20 Fairy Chests and then return to the secret room below the waterfall.

Power Up

The sounds played by the wind chime outside of the Old House are translated on page 34 of the Game Manual. The notes will always come in pairs. They’ll rise and fall at the same moment or in the same pitch. You can then translate those distinct tones to directional inputs using the key on Page 34.

Tip: Up – Down – Right – Up – Down – Left – Up – Down – Left – Right – Down – Left – Right – Up

Back to Work

You’ll need Page 11 of the Game Manual. Travel to the location shown in the picture, this is the beginning of the game. Then use the circles and dots on the box that says “Prize/Treasure” to make this treasure chest appear.

Tip: Right – Down – Left – Up – Left – Left – Down- Right – Right – Down – Down

Phonomath

Travel roughly southwest from the warp point in the Ruined Atoll until you reach an island that requires a Teleportat Dash. Defeat the rock-like enemy that stands in your way. In front of him is a chest with this treasure.

Dusty

Return to the Hero’s Grave in the Forest Fortress after gaining the ability to teleport dash. You should come to a rocky path leading north that leads to a room with multiple leaf piles. Once you’ve destroyed them all, your treasure will appear.

Forever Friend

Can be found by opening the chest and following the hidden shortcut in the Teleport room. Using the golden floor plates, travel to the teleport hub. Teleport Dash between the teleporter near where you first wake up on the beach and the teleport locations north of it, but teleport to the left halfway down that path. It should be clearer with the dotted line on Page 41 of the Instruction Manual.

Tunic Secret Treasure Guide

Tunic is filled with all kinds of surprises from challenging combat, to unique worldbuilding, and a plethora of puzzles that lie beneath the surface. There are disassembled Golden Obelisk, Secret Fairies, and also a set of 12 Secret Treasures. These treasures are the penultimate puzzle in Tunic, as far as we’re aware. In this Tunic Secret Treasure Guide we’ll take you through how to recognize each of the Secret Treasure locations, as well as where to find them if you want a shortcut.

What are the Secret Treasures in Tunic?

There are 12 golden treasures that are hidden around the world. Some are just off the side of your screen, some are hidden in button presses on the wall, and others you’ll need to be thinking about every part of the Tunic environment in order to make appear.

Where do the Secret Treasures go?

There’s a hint on Page 22 that shows a diagram of a door as well as the hidden hallway from the back of the Old House. This shows you that in the same room that you retrieved the Shield from you can head South-East through a hidden tunnel and enter a room with 12 pedestals. Each is the resting place for a different Secret Treasure.

How can I get more hints about the Secret Treasures?

Directions to obtain all of the Secret Treasures are hidden on the different pages of the Tunic in-game Manual, they are normally indicated to using blue pen on top of the regular designs. Obtaining Page 45 will also give you clearer directions giving you an illustration of the room and which page corresponds to which of the Secret Treasures.

Listed below is each of the Tunic Secret Treasure locations, what achievement they unlock, and what happens after you collect them.

Outside the Old House there’s a windchime that plays a tune, pausing as it repeats. The notes will always be in sets of two. They will be rising, falling, at the same time, or at the same tone. Using the key on Page 34 you can then translate those different tones to directional inputs.

Up – Down – Right – Up – Down – Left – Up – Down – Left – Right – Down – Left – Right – Up

Back to Work – Found Secret Treasure #9

This can be solved with the hint on Page 11

Travel to the location shown in the picture, this is the beginning of the game. Then use the circles and dots on the box that says “Prize/Treasure” to make this treasure chest appear.

Right – Down – Left – Up – Left – Left – Down- Right – Right – Down – Down

Phonomath – Found Secret Treasure #10

Travel to the Ruined Atoll and head as far South-West as you can. There’s an island that you can teleport dash to that has a rock that looks like a Thwomp from Super Mario. In front of him is a chest with this treasure.

Dusty – Found Secret Treasure #11

After obtaining the ability to teleport dash return to the Hero’s Grave in the Forest Fortress. Follow the rock path to the North and you’ll enter a room with four piles of leaves. Destroy them and a chest will appear. Inside the chest is a broom.

Forever Friend – Found Secret Treasure #12

Can be found by following the secret shortcut in the Teleport room and opening the chest. Travel to the teleport hub using the golden floor plates. Teleport Dash between the teleporter near where you first wake up on the beach, and the teleport points to the north of it, but half-way through that path teleport to the left. The dotted line on Page 41 of the Instruction Manual should make it more clear

What happens after I collect the Secret Treasures in Tunic?

After collecting six of the Secret Treasures a glowing portal will appear in the center of the room. Entering it will take you to a pillar with 12 different statues around a hill in a clock-like fashion. This is the final (maybe?) puzzle of the game, the Glyph Tower.

Hint on page 1 :: TUNIC General Discussions

Hint on page 1

Obviously spoilers if you want to try to solve this puzzle for yourself

So it’s well documented that to get the hidden text on page 1 to appear, you need to turn off game sound and stand in the puddle in the middle of that path that’s golden on the map in the main area for 60 seconds. At least, that’s what every guide I see says, but that just seems blatantly wrong? You have to stand there to input the code, but standing in water anywhere for 60 seconds reveals the text, and turning off the game sound doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Do people say this because page 51 says “Shhh…”? Because as far as I can tell, that’s just because it’s a secret.

Is this a case where the first guide included unnecessary steps and every other guide copied it? Did it used to be more restrictive and it was patched to be easier? Is there something I’m missing here?

Side note, does anyone have any thoughts on the hint itself? It seems exceptionally vague compared to other secret treasures to me, requiring you to translate the language and then make a leap between “corrected 11 times” and “departed once more” to pressing right 11 times and then left 12, the connection there seems very thin to me. I definitely would never have been able to even get the hint without a guide, as I don’t have the skills to translate this language, I wouldn’t even know where to start. Is it supposed to be a community thing?

Feel free to let me know if there’s something I’ve missed or misinterpreted here, it doesn’t seem like I have but I’m not perfect.

Secret Treasures Guide

Looking for Tunic’s Secret Treasures? This page of the IGN Guide and Walkthrough covers what these secret treasures are, as well as where and how you can find them. You can use this page as a checklist and mark off each one you’ve found so far.

What Are Tunic’s Secret Treasures?

advertisement

There are 12 secret treasures hidden and scattered all around the world in Tunic. Some of them are visible but are just tricky to get to and others will require you to enter a Holy Cross code using the D-pad. Finding a secret treasure earn you an achievement along with a well-deserved sense of accomplishment.

Each time you find a secret treasure you can find it later in a hidden room inside the Old House. Return to the room where you found the shield and instead go south to find another doorway and enter the Secret Treasures room. Here you’ll find 12 pedestals that serve as resting places for each treasure.

Where to Find Tunic’s Secret Treasures

Below you’ll find a list of where you can find all 12 secret treasures as well as any Holy Cross codes you’ll need to input using the D-pad to obtain them.

Secret Treasure 1 – Mr. Mayor

Location: The first treasure is hidden in a building in the Overworld. It’s the first locked room you discovered after starting the game that leads to the East Forest.

As always, the secret was staring at you the whole time, via a box with a handwritten icon marked on the map, right here:

advertisement

Go to the room and look for a pattern on the wall. The pattern describes the directions you have to enter on the D-Pad.

Stand in front of the wall and trace the pattern on the wall with the D-pad and a passage opens up that leads to the treasure.

D-Pad Code: Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Left, Up, Right, Up, Left, Down

Secret Treasure 2 – A Secret Legend

Location: You need to travel to the Cathedral at night and already have the dash ability to find this secret treasure. To switch to nighttime, go to the Old House and sleep in the bed. Now head to the Swamp via the bridge in the southeast — there’s a glowing ladder that leads down from the bridge that lets you access the lower area and the graveyard pretty easily. Head through the gate and to the Cathedral entrance, up the ramps in the northeast and across the walkways.

After entering the Cathedral, go to the left. You should now be in the small library room with the steel ladder hanging from above.

advertisement

Touch the wall by hitting or by dashing into it, and you’ll open a secret doorway to find a treasure chest at the end of the hall. At the end of this hallway, interact with the wall again to open another doorway. Cross the bridge of light and you’ll see a treasure chest underneath. The wall shows a pattern that you’ll need to “trace” with the D-pad.

Enter: Left, up, left, up, right, up, left up, right, down, right, right, up, right, down, left, right, down, left, down, left.

A secret passage will open, but you still can’t grab the chest since the bridge of light blocks it. Go through the door and find a chest outside on a balcony with some money. Keep following the pathway and you’ll discover a hidden ladder to the right of the entrance of the Cathedral. Remember it.

It’s now time to go back to the Old House and change back to daytime. Return to the Cathedral, but this way taking the lower path by going behind the stone bridge from the beach (since there’s no glowing ladder leading down). It’s hidden and you can only see it if you shift the camera angle:

Since the gate to the Cathedral grounds is closed, you have to walk up the stone ramp and use your Crown’s blink ability to make your way across the pillars and climb down behind the wall. Sprint to the back of the area while avoiding all the pesky enemies and follow the stone walkways back to the entrance.

advertisement

This time, take the hidden ladder into the secret chamber. Since it’s now daytime, the bridge of light is nowhere to be seen and you can finally grab the treasure.

Secret Treasure 3 – Sacred Geometry

Location: The Windmill in the Overworld. You can find a hint for this puzzle on page 53 of the manual.

If you look at the sails on the windmill you’ll notice that each one has a pattern, designated by the small notch in one of the four directions — which in turn correspond to a direction on the D-pad. The tape on one of the blades marks the start of the code, with the arrows in the drawing showing the progression.

Follow the hint to solve the puzzle, or simply enter the following code to unlock the secret treasure.

D-Pad Code: Down, Left, Left, Up, Up, Right, RIght, Left, Down, Right, Up, Down

advertisement

Secret Treasure 4 – Vintage

Location: In the Overworld, travel to the southwest beach that leads to the Ruined Atoll and go to the little island just off the shore. You’ll need to have page 1 of the instruction manual in order to find this secret treasure and use a hint from page 51 as well.

Be sure to stand in this small body of water, pause the game and then go to Options > Audio and turn down the Master Volume to 0%. Unpause the game and wait for at least 60 seconds.

After 60 seconds open the instruction manual to page 1 and you’ll see a new drawing appear on the bottom right of the page, indicating where you will find the secret treasure chest, along with a secret message that serves as instructions.

You’re now ready to input the code by using the D-pad.

D-Pad Code: Down, Right x 11, Left x 12

Secret Treasure 5 – Just Some Pals

Location: The Swamp, in the south most section of the map, marked by a skull drawing.

After entering the swamp, head east past the gate and immediately go right to climb up the wooden ladder. As you follow the path you’ll notice a reddish golden skull. You’ll need to find four of these golden skulls which will be scattered throughout this particular area of the Swamp and roll them into a small hole in front of a tombstone.

The skulls can be a bit of a pain to roll around and trying to hit them with your sword or using the dash ability won’t really work. Gently run up against them to nudge and roll them around until they fall into the small hole. Once you’ve found and dropped off all four skulls, the secret treasure chest will appear.

Secret Treasure 6 – Regal Weasel

Location: Fast travel to the East Forest and from the teleporter pad, immediately go south through the trees to find a path that leads to a wooden ladder. Climb down the three ladders to find yourself in the lower East Forest. On the right you’ll see a hook on the ground and above it will be a ledge with a slime. And behind that slime will be a platinum treasure chest that contains the sixth secret treasure.

advertisement

This one can be a little tricky – you can find a hint for what to do on page 53 of the manual but basically you’ll need to have the Magic Wand, the Magic Dagger and the Magic Orb equipped. Target the slime and use both the Magic Wand and the Magic dagger at the same time to attack it. When it has frozen over, use the Magic Orb to hook yourself up to the ledge. Kill the slime to get it out of the way and the secret treasure will be all yours.

Secret Treasure 7 – Spring Falls

Location: In the Overworld, return to the secret room behind the waterfall next to the Dark Tomb’s entrance. You’ll need to have rescued all 20 fairies in order to collect this secret treasure. If you’ve done so, the treasure chest will automatically appear as soon as you enter the room.

Secret Treasure 8 – Power Up

Location: The Old House in the Overworld.

advertisement

You can find hints for this puzzle on pages 28 and 34 of the instruction manual. Pay attention to the windchime hanging outside of the Old House. It plays a song and pauses before it repeats the melody again. The notes are in sets of two, rising and falling, sometimes at the same time or sometimes they’re both the same note. There is a musical key for this song on page 34 on the bottom left corner of the page. Once you’ve figured it out, enter the code using the D-pad.

D-Pad Code: Up, down, right, up, down, left, up, down, left, right, down, left right, up

Secret Treasure 9 – Back to Work

Location: The very first fast travel teleporter you find in the Overworld, immediately after you wake up on the beach for the first time.

Page 11 of the instruction manual contains a hint in the box labeled “Prize/Treasure.” You’ll see a series of dots scribbled inside this box. Connect them, starting from left to right, to reveal a pattern and enter that by using the D-pad.

D-Pad Code: Right, Down, Left, Up, Left, Left, Down, Right, RIght, Down, Down

advertisement

Secret Treasure 10 – Phonomath

Location: Fast travel to the Ruined Atoll. On the map, you’ll notice an arrow was drawn in and is pointing off to an area off the map. You’ll need to have acquired the dash ability to reach this area.

Once you’ve reached the shore, dash over the rubble to a small island. Here you’ll see a block statue buried in the ground. In front of it will be a secret treasure chest.

Secret Treasure 11 – Dusty

Location: Fast travel to the Interior of the Eastern Vault and then head south until you exit the Vault and reach the courtyard. Turn right to go into the next area and follow the path all the way down. Once you reach the stairs at the foot of the Hero’s Grave, teleport dash to the left over the floating pieces of rubble until you reach the entrance to a cave on the other side.

advertisement

Inside this save you’ll see three piles of leaves and a broom in the corner. The broom is a hint that you should clean up. But there’s actually a little secret that you might not spot without adjusting your camera angle — a fourth pile of leaves:

Destroy all of the piles of leaves and the secret treasure chest will materialize in the center of the room.

Secret Treasure 12 – Forever Friend

Location: The Far Shore. You’ll need to have acquired the dash ability in order to find this final secret treasure chest.

Find the nearest fast travel teleporter and travel to the Far Shore. On the map you’ll see a drawn in arrow pointing to the left.

advertisement

Teleport dash to the left (don’t worry, you won’t fall) and keep dashing left until you reach the secret treasure chest.

Once you’ve collected all 12 secret treasures, you can return to the treasure room where you’ll find a glowing portal in the middle of the room. If you enter this portal, you’ll be taken to the top of an isolated tower, surrounding by 12 glowing lights.

This is where you can tackle what is probably Tunic’s last and absolutely craziest secret puzzle, the Glyph Tower.

The pattern is: Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Up, Right, Up, Left, Down.

Keep in mind the patterns show the direction corresponding with the d-pad when the blades are on the right side of the windmill. The pattern is: Down, Left, Left, Up, Up, Right, Right, Left, Down, Right, Up, Down.

Than, go to the room on the left and pass the ladder to examine the wall behind it. If you press the action button, the wall will uncover a secret room with a chest. If you’ll press another button on the wall behind that chest, you’ll find yet another secret room!
