1. I had a similar issue. I have that same AV7705 and I run a dedicated PC Plex server. I was having trouble getting my pre-pro to actually say Dolby Atmos when playing MKV movies. First I tried the Fire Stick 4K. Then I tried the Fire TV Cube. Then the Apple TV 4K. Streaming they all worked fine but when I used the plex app my receiver would only say PCM multi-channel in. When I used the fire cube and ran plex it asked if I wanted to use PASSTHROUGH and I did… the same result. They sounded great, but the fact that my receiver would not actually say Dolby Atmos or DTS:X bothered me and told me that it was touching the audio some way. Then I heard about the Nvidia Shield and Nvidia Shield Pro. I decided to get the Pro. The Shield has the ability to truly play direct content from Plex (and has one of the best video 4K upscale out). Once I hooked it up, all my issues went away. The Pre-Pro read and played everything flawlessly. I still have the Apple and the Cube, but only use the Shield. It is just fantastic for $199. That being said the Dune seems very capable and I am tempted to give it a try. Maybe if I see it on sale I will pick it up.

   One thing the Plex app will not do is ISO, but being Android you can just install Kodi on the Shield and it does the same thing the Dune does…play BD with Menu and all.

   One last thing…Music in Doly Atmos is nothing short of amazing! I had Tidal for a short while, but now that Apple is using Lossless and Atmos I use that, but with that I do have to use the Aplle TV so I am glad I kept it 🙂
