  1. Would you recommend the A7 with my Klipsch RP-8000F and Klipsch RP-504C speakers? Or would you prefer something else that delivers more power? I own a Marantz SR-5011 7.2 system. I also like the price point of these Emotiva systems, too. Thank you for your reviews!

  2. Watching your videos has become an enriching and painful experience, given the fact that sound equipment exposure is not a pleasure we can not enjoy in my hometown , n Venezuela. Still, one can only learn of the things one will target to buy some time ahead, somehow; I have like the twist of your videos with Christie! Thank you both!

  3. Looking to settle an FB group argument. Where does a brand’s signature come from? The processor or the amp? Marantz is the brand we’re discussing specifically.

  4. Honestly, with how surround sound has gone to the next level in terms of how many speakers are needed it's amazing more manufactures haven't moved over to audio video processors. We kinda know that the amps in entry to mid level AVR's are a joke with all channels driven and many of us go out and buy multi channel amps anyway. Wouldn't it make sense that A.V. components be the way to go? On a side note Andrew, why did the industry remove the mid range tone controls when mid-range is a big feeling point when making a decision on speakers? Thx ✊🏽

  5. By the way, Andrew, there's a difference between "colourless" (not the word you're looking for) and "uncolored" (this is correct). And whaddya got against blue? Why is any other color inherently better than any other? That's weird.

  6. Dear Andrew, I am currently running my JBL L150a through a Marantz NR1509. I mostly listen to them at low Volumes. Due their low sensitivity they tend to be power hungry.
If I fed them with a High-power Amp like the Emotiva Basx, would they sound richer? even at lower levels?
I can't find a satisfying answer to that question, so I would appretiate your opinion very much 🙂

  7. Got the A3 to run the LCR channels – im running KEF R3s and they dip a bit lower than the Arcam AVR likes. The A3? Outstanding! I'm sure the others in the line up are just as good. Totally plug and play, all things needed are in the box (trigger, mains plug) and yeah, it just works.

  8. The lights are beautiful and match my Dual PB-4000s! I have the Emotiva BasX A-500 for one system and the BasX A5 for my other system, both 7.2.4 setups with my Denon x3700H’s. The Emotivas drive my LCR and surrounds and the receivers drive the back surrounds and heights.

  9. I have separate components so that I am not buying new amplifier channels when changing the processor or changing amp channels. With 6 tri-amped speakers plus Atmos and surround speakers there's a LOT of channels!

  10. I think I'm going to buy a Emotiva BasX A2 > Emotiva Airmotiv T1+ > Emotiva Airmotiv R11 Bass > Mini DSP nanoDIGI 2x8B and run them through my SCHIIT Bifrost 2. Any thoughts or advice?

  11. I'm curious, since you brought up the NAD T778, how it sounds in comparison. You mention that class D is more neutral and the bass x is better for those who don't like class D sound. But you also said in the NAD review that the sound was distinctly NAD, so I'm curious if they compare favorably to each other or if the NAD is distinctly class D and the bass x still has a richer presentation.

  12. Good clean power and with a neutral delivery at that price point is hard to beat. Aesthetics and physical appearance are always a personalized preference and form does not always follow function well. Thanks for hitting on that element of the audiophile experience as design and it’s place within an environment can have impact to the setting and it’s vibe or the experience of the audio tech for some. As to the question, I think separates are good because they offer you that flexibility in the playground and yet, I recently heard a system that was comprised of two speakers and an all in one that blew my mind and could be endgame for many; especially for those who all about headphones. More options the better!

  13. What hi-fi did an article on using a separate 2 channel amplifier and then having two preamps: one for hi-fi, and one home cinema. It's a good read, and is a great setup. Not all integrated amps have preamplifier bypass, but a switched input to a power amp is simpler.

  14. Andrew, excellent video and timely in my case. May I ask if you used an XLR to RCA adapter or an XLR to RCA cable? I just purchased an RMC-1L (to be used with a Parasound A52+) and I need an amp for my wides and ceiling Atmos speakers, the A7 is top of my list and I would prefer to use a cable instead of an adapter. Thank you.

  15. You got me interested in separates. thanks. I zeroed on Emotiva BasX A3 to power front 3 channels. But I cannot find pre out for center channel on any of the mid range receivers I checked (yamaha denons). How does it work? Also if emotiva takes front 3 load off the receiver, can receiver now deliver more power to the remaining surround speakers and Atmos-enabled speakers ( connected to receiver). Thx in advance.

  16. Yes, Mr and Mrs Robinson, I am intersted in separates for the first time. My earliest hardware was middle (to sometimes lower end) of mid-level. I have a couple older AVR and some even older 2 channel amps. I am really trying to find pieces that will allow me to have a hybrid setup of an upper-middle-ish 2.1 for listening and occaisional nuclear family dance parties and an impressive but not necessarily high-end surround for cinema, tv and a little hd gaming. Love the channel and The Missus' input. PS I haven't seen enough episodes (30?) to know what is at the center of that home theater–mirror/projector screen/painting/????

  17. If this is a very good and powerful amplifier (A2-300), why does everyone call it "entry level"? If you don't need more power, what is the logical upgrade path and that path's value proposition? Other than self aggrandizement, I don't see the reason it isn't a keeper.

  18. Andrew, I know you're a big fan of the Naim Uniti Atom (as am I). What I did find is that speaker pairing the Atom can be a challenge since some speakers simply require more power to be driven properly. Would you recommend the Emotiva BasX A2 as a power amp connected to the pre-amp out of the Atom? What would be the pro's and cons for a solution like this?
