Why is the Sound on Disney Plus so Low (Easy Fix)

Disney+ is a popular streaming service for a reason, appealing to all ages and tastes with its wide range of different genres. However, the experience is most enjoyable when you can hear the content. For some people, there is an issue with not hearing the sound or the sound being too low to understand. So, why is the sound on Disney+ so low?

If Disney+’s volume is too low for you to hear, this may be because the device audio output for your stream is incorrect or even the audio output is too quiet.

Regardless, keep reading to find a few things to try to get Disney+’s audio louder.

Check the Disney+’s Volume

The easiest fix if you have been fiddling with the master volume on your device and you still cannot hear your stream is to check Disney+’s volume. Like several other video and streaming services, the platform itself has volume control.

Check the bottom right of the progress bar on what you’re watching on Disney+, and you should see the audio control button as shown in the photo above to the left. Select the audio button and adjust the bar to whatever volume that is audible to you.

Check the Audio Output

If the volume is still low on Disney+, try watching something else on Disney+ to see if it is just that movie/TV show. If that does not seem to be the case, check other streaming services to see if the sound is low.

If the volume is low also on Youtube, Netflix, or any other streaming service, the issue may be with your audio device. Devices do not always switch to the audio output that you want, whether it is a Bluetooth speaker or a headset. Sometimes, the audio output needs to be set manually.

How to Connect a Bluetooth Audio Device to Disney+

Here is the steps to connecting a Bluetooth audio device to your TV:

Turn Bluetooth on Pair Bluetooth device Swap to the Bluetooth device iOS : Swap in the control panel

: Swap in the control panel Mobile/Tablet : Swap within Disney+ in the top right corner

: Swap within Disney+ in the top right corner Windows : Swap by clicking the audio button on the bottom right corner

: Swap by clicking the audio button on the bottom right corner MacOS : Swap by clicking the Apple logo > System Preferences > Bluetooth

: Swap by clicking the Apple logo > System Preferences > Bluetooth TV: Swap within settings and select the audio output

Now, let’s see how to ensure an audio device connected to Disney+ physically will work properly.

How to Troubleshoot Physically Connected Audio Devices On Disney+

To troubleshoot your physical audio device, check the following:

Device is compatible: check the audio device and the streaming device’s website to make sure that everything is compatible Plugs are properly connected: Try unplugging them and plugging them back in Selected device for audio output: iOS : swap in the control panel (if not defaulted already)

: swap in the control panel (if not defaulted already) Mobile/Tablet : swap within Disney+ in the top right corner or in settings

: swap within Disney+ in the top right corner or in settings Windows : swap by clicking the audio button on the bottom right corner

: swap by clicking the audio button on the bottom right corner MacOS : swap by clicking the Apple logo > System Preferences > Sound > Output

: swap by clicking the Apple logo > System Preferences > Sound > Output TV: swap within settings and select the audio output

If the above did not fix the low sound, let’s check if the application has been updated.

Perhaps the audio output device did not help or the issue is not with the audio output device at all. Let’s try updating the application and your devices.

If auto-updates are not turned on, check that the application is updated and consider turning on auto-updates. After, try restarting the application and your updated device to see if that resolved the issue.

Some audio output devices also require software updates. If applicable, make sure to update and restart your audio device that you are trying to listen to also.

Check Your Device’s Drivers

Computers require drivers to interact with different components, like different audio devices. If the sound is low when you are trying to stream Disney+ on your computer, it is worth a shot trying to update your drivers.

In order to update your computer drivers, follow these steps:

Hit the “Windows” key Type “Device Manager” and select “Device Manager” Under the device name, select “Audio inputs and outputs” Right-click the desired audio driver and select “Update Driver” Select “Search automatically for drivers” Repeat on desired or all audio drivers

Now, let’s see the next solution.

How to Uninstall and Reinstall Your Computer Drivers

If updating the drivers does not resolve the issue, or all of the drivers say they are up-to-date, try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers:

Take note of the driver names! Right-click the desired audio driver and select “Uninstall Device” Follow your computer company’s prompts to install the drivers by entering your computer information: Dell, Asus, HP, Acer, Lenovo

Above are several links to computer companies’ websites to re-install certain drivers. If your brand is not listed, you can search your brand name + “drivers” to find the re-installation information.

Summary

The suggestions above hopefully helped with the volume issue on your Disney+ binges so you can get back sooner watching your favorite movies and shows. If the suggestions did not help and closed captions are not working for you, Disney+ has a 24/7 service to assist you.

Disney Plus Sound Not Working on Chromecast (Easy Fix!)

The Smart Home Starter team picks the products and services we write about. When you buy through our links, we may get a commission.

Disney Plus Sound Not Working on Chromecast (Easy Fix!)

Disney Plus is a great streaming service, and you wouldn’t normally associate it with having sound problems, regardless of what device it is on—especially on a Chromecast. It’s one of those weird, nonsensical issues that do indeed happen from time to time.

If the sound for Disney+ is not working, it’s most likely a firmware issue, especially if you’re using a device rather than a built-in Chromecast. It could also be a cache or temp files issue.

Read on to learn more about troubleshooting sound issues with Disney+ and Chromecast devices.

How to Fix Disney Plus Sound When It’s Not Working

Firmware is always the first thing you should look at as its the most common problem. It has also become more of a problem since the recent explosion in streaming apps and platforms on various devices. It’s easy to see how such a conglomeration of devices, platforms, apps, and channels could potentially have problems.

Most streaming apps default to an automated updating process from the moment you complete the download. However, apps aren’t perfect, and even major companies like Apple can’t seem to find a way to get their firmware to update automatically, in a consistent manner.

It may be that you have missed the last few firmware updates, and Disney+ is getting a bit behind on the times. Since the firmware is supposed to update on its own, There’s no set way for you to do it manually.

What you will have to do instead is delete the Disney+ app from your Chromecast and redownload it. Downloading it again will ensure that you have the latest edition on your Chromecast device.

Access your Google Chromecast Device (not applicable if it’s built-in). Select the Settings Menu. Locate the Apps Menu at the top of the screen. Select See All Apps. Locate Disney+. Select Uninstall.

Once the app is gone, all you have to do is pull it back up in the App Store and download it again. Unfortunately, you will have to enter your login credentials once again; however, you will be running on the latest version of Dinsey+.

You’ll use the Google Home App to update your Chromecast device or TV, and the app is available on either an Android or iOS device:

Open the Google Home App. Find your Chromecast device under the Devices tab. Selec the Three, Horizontal Dots next to your device. Open Device Settings. Select the Three Dots at the top of the screen. Select Reboot.

Rebooting the Chromecast will automatically include updating the firmware, so your device will be up to date by the time it cycles back up.

Delete the Cache and Temp Files on your Chromecast

Cache and temp files create problems when they pile up, and this has been the case since the days of the 56k dial-up modems when you had to wait through half an hour of screeching and whining sounds to get on the internet.

Deleting all of this stuff clears up all of the background processes running and frees up some storage:

Go to the Settings Menu on your Chromecast device/TV. Select System. Select Storage. Select Internal Shared Storage. Select Cached Data. Choose OK.

That will dump all of the cached material that’s just sitting around, eating up valuable storage space, and probably causing other problems as well. While you’re at it, you should also offload all of those apps that you excitedly downloaded when you first got your device and are now just wasting storage and screen space.

Getting rid of apps that you don’t use works exactly the same as the uninstallation process for the Disney+ app explained above. Unless you’re actively watching certain streaming programs, don’t keep them on your device unless you re-up your subscription and you’re starting to watch them again. Low storage room on any device always causes problems.

Factory Reset Your Chromecast

No one wants to do a factory reset to get their devices working again because it also means redoing everything you had on that device from the beginning. Unfortunately, it’s often a necessary evil because restarting it is occasionally the only thing that will work.

On the bright side, its a fairly simple process. For the USB Chromecast device, all you need to do is press and hold the button on the back of the Chromecast device until the light blinks yellow and continue holding until it turns white again.

For the built-in Chromecast:

Select your Profile at the top of the screen. Select Settings. Select System > About. Select Factory Reset.

Once your TV reboots, your built-in Chromecast will be returned to the way it was when you unboxed the TV, and you’re good to go.

Final Thoughts

The Disney+ app not having any sound doesn’t mean that your speakers are broken or that there is anything wrong with your TV or Chromecast device. It’s often a simple but irritating issue with the firmware on the device or the app. Worst case, you’ll have to factory reset your Chromecast.

Fortunately, that’s the rare response, and getting everything up to date, along with clearing out your cache, will get you back to all of the streaming content that Disney+ has to offer, sound included.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working (On FireStick, Roku, Sony TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Projector, Android TV) – Decortweaks

It has been nearly 2 years since Disney Plus launched, and it has become one of the most popular streaming services around the world. Although this streaming service has content for everyone, some issues may arise. One problem that some Disney Plus subscribers have run into is the sound not working.

If you try to play a movie on Disney Plus and no sound plays, but the other apps on your devices play sound without any issue, it is most likely because the audio setting needs to be changed on your device. However, the solution to this issue all depends on which device you are streaming off of.

This app handles audio options differently than other apps, which is why you’ll need to follow the instructions for the device you plan to use. Keep reading to find out what to do when there’s no sound on the Disney Plus app.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working On Firestick

Amazon’s Firestick has become one of their most popular devices. That is mainly because it is such a strong streaming device. People can find almost every streaming app on the device, which is why many Amazon customers prefer to use it to stream Disney Plus. However, the only downfall is that people experience issues with Disney Plus that come out of nowhere.

One of the issues that often arises is no sound. This can sometimes be resolved by simply restarting the Firestick device. The first thing you should do is test out the Disney Plus app on a different device to make sure that the app itself isn’t. If the sound works properly on a different device, follow these steps to restart the Firestick:

Open up the “Settings” menu.

Under this menu, find and select the “Device” option.

Click the “Restart” option.

Allow the Firestick to restart, this may take a few seconds.

Once the Firestick has restarted, open the Disney Plus app and test the sound.

Sometimes when you use the Firestick for long periods of time, the background apps begin to cause issues, which is one of the reasons why the Disney Plus app may lose sound temporarily. If you believe this could be the source of your problem, it can be cleaned up by clearing the cache.

Start by pressing the “Home” button on the Firestick.

Open up the “Settings” menu and select the “Applications” option.

Find and select “Manage Installed Application”

Select “Disney Plus” from the list.

Select the “Clear Cache” option.

Once that has finished, restart the device before attempting to test the Disney Plus app again.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, then you will need to turn off Dolby Digital Plus. Under the “Settings” option on your Firestick, look for “Display ; Sounds”. From here, you should select “Audio” and search for “Dolby Digital Output”. Once you open that, you can turn the Dolby Digital Plus off. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, uninstall and reinstall the Disney Plus app.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working On Roku

Roku is another popular device used for streaming. The thing about Roku is that all the apps are managed by the channel’s provider and not Roku. If an issue arises with Disney Plus’s sound, it’s most likely an issue with the app and not the Roku device.

Why is Hulk Not on Disney Plus? To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Why is Hulk Not on Disney Plus?

Disney Plus still has some kinks to work out with their streaming service, and as of now it doesn’t seem to be compatible with Dolby. This app works better when the audio is set to stereo. To change this, all you have to do is go into your Roku device’s settings and switch the audio to stereo.

However, if this doesn’t work you may have to remove the app and reinstall it.

Open up the Roku home screen and find the Disney Plus app.

Press the “*” button on your Roku’s remote and choose the “Remove Channel” option.

Open up the “Settings” screen and select “System” then choose “System Restart” to restart the device.

Once the Roku restarts, you can add Disney Plus back.

If you are still experiencing issues with the sound, you will need to contact Disney Plus support directly to report the issue.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working On A Sony TV

Many people experience issues with Disney Plus sound not working on their Sony TV. This is because Sony TVs are set up with Dolby sound options and you will need to switch it to either LPCM or stereo audio. Since Disney Plus isn’t compatible with Dolby sound, you will need to follow these instructions:

Press the “Home” button on the TV remote.

Choose the “Settings” option.

Select “Preferences” from the menu.

Next, choose “Audio Description” to make the change.

From here you can select the preferred audio option.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working On Projector

Most people who have projectors and have tried to stream Disney Plus on them have run into issues. Disney is a company that’s worth over $100 billion and they have a lot of security measures put in place to prevent people from pirating. Some of these may seem extreme to their customers, especially when it affects their casual viewing.

Even though people pay for their subscription to watch the content on Disney Plus, Disney is still very worried about losing money and has limited what content can be cast on a projector. Many people notice the sound and picture not working when they try to use Disney Plus on their projector because of this issue.

Disney believes that people will host large scale screenings if they were able to cast the content onto the projector. If you still want to be able to watch Disney Plus on your projector with full sound, you can get around this. Sometimes people with Apple TVs run into sound issues when they try to run Disney Plus, but luckily this is a very simple fix. First, start by making sure the Disney Plus app doesn’t need any updates. When you open the “Settings” on your Apple TV, select the “Apps” option. Turn on the “Automatically Update Apps” and wait for everything to update.

You should also check the Disney Plus app on another device to make sure it’s not a problem with their server. If everything is working normally, then you will need to check your audio settings. If there is absolutely no sound when you try to play a movie on the app, then you will need to make sure your Apple TV’s audio settings aren’t set to Dolby.

However, another sound issue that some Apple TV owners have ran into with Disney Plus is that there is background noise but when the people on TV speak, no sound comes out. This is likely happened because the TV’s audio is set to surround sound but there are no surround speakers connected to it.

Whether you have no sound or just partial sound, changing the audio setting to stereo should resolve the issue.

How To Fix Disney Plus Sound Not Working On Chromecast

Many people use Chromecast devices to watch their favorite streaming apps. However, when it comes to Disney Plus, many subscribers run into no sound issues. A Chromecast device allows users to control their home entertainment through their mobile phone. However, there are two different types of Chromecasts, ones that stand alone and ones that are built into the TV.

If the Chromecast that you are having no sound problems with is built into the TV the first thing you should do is make sure everything is up to date. To do this, you’ll need to have Google Home downloaded on your mobile phone. You will also need to make sure your tv and phone are connected to the same WIFI network as well.

You should be able to detect the Chromecast from the Google Home app. Once you’re in this section, you should be able to see if you have the latest firmware installed. If you don’t have the latest software installed, check your TV for updates. You can use this same method to check if the firmware is updated on stand alone Chromecast devices as well.

Do you still experience no sound issues with Disney Plus on your Chromecast after the firmware update? If this is still happening, you should unplug the Chromecast device.
