I recently bought some of the new GU 16 piece chew packets, and they are NASTY. These new chews are too sweet, and contain too few calories per chew (you need to eat 8 to get 10 fewer calories than you get from 4 chews of the older 8 piece sleeves. When you are 16 hours into a run, the last thing you want to do is fish out, count and eat 8 chews to get 90 calories. And the packaging… there is too much packaging per packet, the unopened package is too big ( they take up much space in your pack or shorts) and the larger amount of packaging left after consuming creates too much junk to carry around on long expeditions.
I feared that you would discontinue the 8 piece sleeves and replace them with these new GU Chew 16 piece packets, which, frankly, should sit with the same consumer that uses cheap candy as a calorie source. Sorry for being so blunt, but those 16 piece packets are NOT up to the GU’s brand standard for delivering energy when you need it most.
So again, thank you for bringing the 8 piece sleeves back!
