How Much Would You Or Any Object Weigh On Neptune?
Enter Weight: Any unit grams (g) kilograms (kg) pounds (lbs)
Weight On Neptune:
This Weight on Neptune Conversion Calculator calculates your weight or the weight that any object would be if on Neptune.
To use this calculator, a user just enters his or her weight or the object’s weight and clicks the ‘Calculate’ button, and the weight will automatically be computed and shown below. The weight can be entered in any units and the resultant answer will be in the same units which the user has input. Thus, for example, if a user enters 150lbs, the resultant answer of the weight in Neptune would be 159.63lbs. The units will always match. Just for the sake of clarity, a user can select the units he wants the answer to appear in, whether grams, kilograms, or pounds, and that unit will show in the answer.
This calculator calculates the weight on Neptune from the weight of the object on earth. Being that it takes the weight of an object on earth and converts it to the weight on Neptune, the formula is Weight on Neptune= (Weight on Earth/9.81m/s2) * 11.15m/s2. To find the weight on Neptune, we divide the weight on earth by the earth’s force of gravity, which is 9.81m/s2. This calculates the mass of the object. Once we have the object’s mass, we can find the weight by multiplying it by the gravitational force, which it is subject to. Being that Neptune has a gravitational force of 11.15m/s2, we multiply the object’s mass by this quanitity to calculate an object’s weight on Neptune.
So an object or person on Neptune would weigh 113.66% of its weight on earth. Therefore, a person would be heavier on Neptune than on earth. Conversely, a person is 85.7% lighter on earth than on Neptune.
What causes the differences in weight between the various planets? The answer is the gravitational force which a planet is subject to. Earth has less mass than Neptune. Therefore, the sun pulls on the earth with lesser force, because of the lesser mass. You probably are familiar that gravity is a downward force. It pushes you back to the Earth’s surface. This is why when you jump, you come back down. Being that the earth has lesser gravitational force, it pulls object downward with lesser force. This translates into lesser weight.

Gravity on Neptune
[/caption]Neptune is a gas planet, so it doesn’t have a solid surface. If you tried to walk on the surface of Neptune, you’d sink right in. But let’s say you could walk on Neptune. How strong is the gravity on Neptune? How heavy would you feel?
The surface gravity of Neptune is 1.14 times the gravity on Earth. In other words, if you could actually walk on Neptune, you would feel only a little heavier than if you were walking on Earth. If you weighed 100 kg on Earth, you would weight 114 kg on Neptune. Compare that to the much lower gravity you would feel on the Moon (16.5%) or Mars (37.6%).
Neptune has much more mass than Earth. In fact, it has a mass of 17 times the mass of the Earth. You would think that would make the gravity much more extreme. But it also has a much larger size. The diameter of Neptune is 3.8 times the diameter of Earth. This brings the gravity on Neptune down to a very comfortable 114% the gravity of Earth.
Except for the non-solid part, walking on Neptune would feel very comfortable.

Weight on Other Planets
[/caption]Many children, and even adults, dream of visiting other planets and wonder what it would be like to stand on another planet. For one thing, your weight would be different on another planet, depending on a number of factors including the mass of the planet and how far you are away from the center of the planet.
Before we start, it’s important to understand that the kilogram is actually a measurement of your mass. And your mass doesn’t change when you go anywhere in the Universe and experience different amounts of gravity. Your weight is best measured in newtons. But since your bathroom doesn’t measure your weight in newtons, we’ll use kilograms. This is what your bathroom scale would say if you stepped on another world.
Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar System, but it is dense. Because Mercury is so small, it has very little gravity. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth, you would only weigh 25.7 kg on Mercury.
Venus is very close to Earth in size and mass. Venus’ mass is roughly 90% of the mass of the Earth. Thus, it is no surprise that someone would weigh a similar amount on Venus. Someone who weighed 68 kg on Earth would weigh 61.6 kg on Venus.
Mars is quite a bit smaller than Earth with only 11% of our planet’s mass. Mars is larger than Mercury, but it is not as dense as the smaller planet. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth then you would weigh 25.6 kg on Mars. Since Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet, Mars became the planet where you would weigh the least.
Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar System with the most mass. Because of Jupiter’s mass, you would weigh more on that planet than on any other one in our Solar System. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth then you would weigh 160.7 kg on Jupiter, over twice your normal weight. That is if you could actually stand on Jupiter’s surface, which is impossible because it is a gas giant, and gas giants do not have solid surfaces.
Saturn is a gas giant best known for its planetary rings system. It is also the second biggest planet in our Solar System. Despite its mass though, the planet has a very low density and a lower gravity than Earth. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth, you would weigh 72.3 kg on Saturn.
Uranus is a gas giant without a solid surface. Although Uranus is larger in size than Neptune, it has less mass and therefore less gravity. You would only weigh 60.4 kg on Uranus, if you weighed 68 kg on Earth.
Neptune, the last planet in our Solar System, is a gas giant. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth, then you would weigh 76.5 kg on Neptune if you could stand on the planet’s surface.
Although the Moon is not a planet, it is one of the few objects that astronauts have actually visited. Because the Moon is so small, it has a low density and low gravity. If you weighed 68 kg on Earth, then you would only weigh 11.2 kg on the Moon.
Universe Today has a number of articles to check out including weight on the moon and mass of the planets.
