Brooke has always been one to tell it like it is, and her time capsule video is no exception. While most of the school is reminiscing about memories, complaining about their problems, or making startling confessions, Brooke, instead, makes a plea of hope for the future. She lays down some truths about how hard it is to be a girl in high school these days and wishes that things will be better by the time the time capsule is unearthed. But what makes this an essential Brooke Davis moment is that this profound statement is followed up by a spontaneous strip show to document her body in its prime. Sassy and sincere, it’s classic Brooke Davis.
#9: When She Saved Peyton
“You Call It Madness, But I Call It Love”
Like most lifelong best friends, Brooke and Peyton have had many ups and downs. But it seemed like their fights over Lucas and Nathan might just be the thing to end them. Peyton even goes so far as to write a slur on Brooke’s prom dress. But Brooke sees the glass as half full and goes to Peyton’s house to make up, only to be greeted there by Peyton’s fake brother, psycho Derek. With some unparalleled badassery, and some eighth grade cheer camp moves, Brooke saves Peyton from a grim fate, and also saves their friendship. Nothing like a double kidnapping to bring people together.
#8: When She Fired Her Mother
“You’re Gonna Need Someone on Your Side”
From the beginning of the series, Brooke’s mom was this sort of mythical villain that was only spoken of but never seen. After the four year time jump however, we finally got to see the monster in the flesh, and learned that Brooke was not exaggerating. It was hard to see the strong, confident woman we had watched Brooke grow into over the years still feel so small in the presence of her mother. But that only makes it all the more satisfying when Brooke finally stands up to her and takes back control of her company and her life.
#7: When She Says ‘I Love You’ to Julian for the First Time
“Remember Me as a Time of Day”
Brooke has had some really bad luck with love, and when Julian comes along things are complicated between them, to say the least. When Julian says that he loves Brooke for the first time, she does not take it so well. But after some ups and downs, Brooke is finally ready to really let him in. She finds him on the set of his film, and says “I Love You” with a little help from some movie magic. It is a beautiful and well deserved moment for Brooke that had been a long time coming.
#6: The Photo Lesson
“Pictures of You”
Out of all the characters on the show, Brooke, arguably, goes through the most character development. The photo lesson in season four is a big moment for all of the characters as they reach the end of their senior year and reexamine themselves and their classmates. Brooke shares a very honest hour with Chase where she admits that she has spent her whole life feeling insecure and inadequate. But by the end of the lesson, she embraces her insecurities and takes control of them rather than letting them control her, and Chase takes a picture of her with all of her self doubts projected onto her.

“Choosing My Own Way of Life”
After four years away building her business, Brooke returns home to Tree Hill with a new dream. She decides it is time for the next stage in her life, and wants a child. She already proved just how motherly she can be when she looked after baby Angie, but Brooke’s first real foray into motherhood, fittingly, is with a troubled young teenager. Having had several unpleasant run-ins with Sam, Brooke takes her in and becomes her temporary mom – seeing something in Sam that reminds her of her younger self. Though things are rocky for them at first, it is amazing to see both Brooke and Sam grow together into the family that both of them needed.
#4: Cheer Competition
“All Tomorrow’s Parties”
Brooke has the opportunity to participate in a fashion show and jumpstart her future in the industry, but she would have to miss the cheer competition she looks forward to every year. After some deep contemplation, she makes the mature decision that she has plenty of time to achieve her dreams, but only a little time left being a kid. Naturally, things go horribly wrong at the competition. But rather than get angry, Brooke makes the best of a bad situation, and just starts dancing like a goof on stage – inspiring the rest of the Ravens, and the crowd to join in. You just can’t keep Brooke Davis down.
#3: When She Sacrificed Herself for Jamie
“Darkness on the Edge of Town”
Brooke has always been selfless when it comes to the people she loves. And no moment is more representative of that than when she nearly dies saving Jamie from a car wreck. During a terrible storm, Brooke comes across Jamie and his friends with Miss Lauren in an overturned car. While trying to save Jamie, the car gets knocked into the river with the both of them still inside. Julian finds them and tries to save Brooke, but Brooke demands that he save Jamie first. For a few heart wrenching minutes, it seemed as though we might actually lose Brooke. Though that would have been shocking, it’s no surprise that Brooke was willing to risk her life for someone she loves.
#2: Starting Clothes Over Bros.
“How a Resurrection Really Feels”
Brooke has spent a lot of time letting herself be defined by both her absent parents and the boys who neglect her. And after a let down wherein her clothing designs were stolen, Brooke is more dejected than ever. But with some help from Haley, and some artwork from Peyton, Brooke bets on herself and starts her own clothing company while still in high school. Fittingly, she names the company after her and Peyton’s catch phrase, Clothes Over Bros. After watching Brooke get torn down so many times, we finally get to witness her start to see herself as the powerful, talented, and driven person we always knew her to be.

It is an awesome, triumphant moment watching Brooke beat the crap out of the man who assaulted her. She singlehandedly takes him out and holds him down until the police get there. Apparently, Xavier didn’t learn his lesson the first time, and has the nerve to return years later – only for Brooke to double down and beat him again. Sexism has this funny way of pinning women against each other. This is difficult to navigate, and we often find ourselves competing with other women. However, Brooke celebrates her sisters successes. Remember when Rachel got the modeling job at Maxim?
4. She’s courageous in discussing her self esteem issues and gender expectations.
While women certainly can be confident, we all have our insecurities. Sometimes we bury them instead of talking about them. Brooke is courageous and honest by coming forward with her self esteem issues.
5. And she overcomes them..
We see Brooke grow so much over her years in high school (Season 1-4), and she really learns how to define herself on her terms. So proud of her.
6. She’s got her priorities straight.
Best friends stick together. It’s important not to let romance come in the way of friendship. Boys may come and go through the years but good friends are forever.
7. She wears her heart on her sleeve.
She knows how to be vulnerable. She gives her heart unconditionally and completely. Watching Brooke cry breaks all our hearts.
8. She started her own business.
We all remember Clothes Over Bro’s, and we were all so proud of her talent and skill. Women in power are sexy.
9. She succeeded, despite her mother’s lack of faith in her.
Her mother always doubted her and wasn’t very good to her growing up. When Brooke told her mother she wanted to start a fashion line, her mother told her she wasn’t that one in a million that could make it. We all cheer for her whenever she stands up for herself like she did in this scene.
10. She speaks out against unrealistic expectations of beauty.
The fashion industry creates such unrealistic expectations of beauty. This hurts not only models in the industry but women in society as well. Not only is she an entrepreneur, but she fights against fatphobia.
11. She is a survivor.
One Tree Hill shows us the harsh reality for survivors of violence. These were some of the hardest episodes to watch, but her resilience and strength was so inspiring. She got her revenge in the end, and we were all cheering for her.
12. Angee.
She became a temporary foster mother while Angee was in America for a surgery that would save her life. She took care of her, loved her, and then had to let her go. Watching Angee get ripped away from Brooke at the airport was devastating.
13. Sam.
She also takes in a troubled teenager (Sam) that was in the foster system and was experiencing homelessness. She helps someone who wasn’t dealt a good hand in life. She rescues her from the same violent man who attacked her in her store. She is a fierce warrior.
14. She is an incredible Aunt.
When the Scott’s car crashes on the bridge and dives into the water, Brooke is the first to dive in after Jamie. When Julian (the love of Brooke’s life) dives in moments later, Brooke pleads with him to save Jamie first. Brooke risked her life for him.
15. She is an incredible friend.
Despite her own troubles, she is always there for the one’s she loves. She is so incredibly selfless, always taking care of others first. She even rescued Peyton and helped fight off “Psycho Derek”. She was also the first to be there for Peyton when Lucas proposed to Lindsey in Season 5.
16. She is wise beyond her years and supports the people important to her.
She uses her experiences to grow as a person, and becomes wiser each day. This means she gives incredible advice to her friends, and they value her for it. She has the incredible way of making you feel safe, beautiful, and loved.
17. She eats. A lot.
We all admire a character who knows how to eat. Brooke loves her body regardless.
18. She is sexy as hell.
Damn. Need I say more?
19. But she also knows her worth.
She doesn’t take shit when people judge her, and she knows her value exceeds her body.
20. And she re-asserts it whenever she is underestimated.
Whenever she is beginning to doubt herself, she knows how to shake it off. She also has Jaime to give her a little confidence boost if all else fails.
21. She stands up for what she believes in.
Don’t f*ck with her. She is fierce as hell and will always stand up for her friends and family. Remember when the new coffee shop owner next door employs the man who attacked Brooke to upset her? Brooke dealt with that accordingly.
22. Despite being told she can’t have children, she gets her happy ending.
In season six we learn that Brooke can’t have children. She gives her heart to Angee, to Sam, to Jamie, and finally a miracle happens and she gets pregnant. We couldn’t be happier for her.
23. And lastly, because she is one of the most beautiful, compassionate, fierce women to ever grace television.
We were all so happy for her when we found out she was pregnant with TWINS! We all hope to be as incredible of a mother as she is.
Brooke Davis gives me feels. It may sound silly, but I often ask myself WWBDD (what would Brooke Davis do?). She is fierce, but vulnerable. Strong, but soft hearted. Confident, yet humble. Wise, yet childlike. We love you Brooke!
