How do I beat Goro in MK1?
i use to freeze the MK1 machine 2 ways, one with goro and the other one on the doubles fight escene.At the double fight escene was easy, just defeat the first guy, at the second you have to win in health but not defeat your fighter and let the time reach 0.Once the time reaches 0 the machine froses.And with goro, i use to fight him with scorpion, and found an strategie that gives me draw game with goro, you can only do draw game 6 times, then the machine froses.Im going to play MK1 today to see if i can remember that secuense. But i remembered Goro an eazy to beat charater.

toddx77 10 years ago #1 If so how did you beat Goro? I have tried every character and the furthest I have got is winning 1 round while playing as Lu Kang. I have been trying to projectile attacks but everytime I use one he uses one and his kill you faster.

ch2423 10 years ago #4 Do the farthest jump kick you can. As soon as it lands jump backwards and come back with another. If he blocks, jump back again. You’re pretty much jumping the entire round.

villainousfats 10 years ago #6 Use sub zero and freeze and then uppercut. Before he gets up freeze him again rinse repeat. If you freeze him to early you might not be able to uppercut him. in this case JK and slide him and freeze him again before he gets up. I’m a noble rabbit.

I picked Liu Kang and spammed the heck out of Goro with his fireball.

Nafzger 10 years ago #9 I beat Goro with Scorpion by doing a jumping LP to spear, then doing an uppercut and repeating ad naseum. Worked every time. Shang Tsung I beat by spamming the flying kick with Liu Kang, which I think is canonical since that’s the move he used to defeat Tsung in the MK story http://i.imgur.com/bHOlAkv.gif

Tips on how to beat the games
Got a few cheap tricks to beat Kintaro in particular.
Funny enough, he was A LOT harder than Shao Kahn….only took me 3 tries to beat Shao…..Kintaro took like two weeks, until I used a few cheap methods =)
First one that is fairly effective is Sub-Zero jump kick/slide combo. Just jump kick Kintaro and immediately do a slide. Don’t do it too many times in a row or he will grab you, but do the jump kick/slide combo and then jump back a few times to give some space and then keep repeating the jump kick/slide combo (with jumping back).
The first method actually didn’t do it for me….I used this method —-> Baraka has a long kick so I kept jump kicking him and then taking a few steps back, jump kicking then taking a few steps back, repeat this. The thing is, if you time it right, Kintaro tries to uppercut you after you step back a little and then jump kick, but he misses and you get him.
It was so easy to beat him with Baraka’s method. If I play MK2 again, I will record it for you guys so you get it. It might not work the first time or two, you gotta get the timing just right, but when you get the timing right, it’s a joke to beat him.
For UMK3 Motaro, I used the same method I used since I played the game when it came out….I just jump kick him, jump back, wait for his jump towards me, jump kick, repeat.
For UMK3 Shao Kahn, I used Sindel. I ducked until he did his air shadow kick, gave him an uppercut, then ran in, did my combo, ran back, ducked again, waited for the air shadow kick, repeat the above. For the second round, Shao gets mad, and does the shoulder shadow block, so I would just duck, block, let him do his shoulder shadow block, then run in and combo his ass to hell.
Took about 4 tries to beat him.
