Boot PC in Safe Mode Windows 8.1 – Windows 8.1 Tutorial
In this Windows 8.1 tutorial I show how to boot or restart your PC in Safe Mode. There are 2 basic techniques, either hold down the \”shift\” key from the sign in window while clicking restart, or go into the advanced startup options.

A tutorial on how to access safe mode on windows 8/8.1
Method 1: Go to run, type shutdown /r /o /f /t 00, click troubleshoot, then advanced options, startup settings, restart, press corresponding \”F\” key (F4).
Method 2: (get F8 back), open any command prompt (in the video it shows how to do it off install cd) type \”bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy\”, restart, F8 will now work!
To undo F8 open any command prompt and type \”bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard\”

Hold the Shift button and mash the F8 key when Windows starts. This will sometimes boot you into the new advanced repair options. If F8 and Shift+F8 is not working, read other methods here http://goo.gl/mxLdSM

1. Click on the Troubleshoot option
2. Now select Advanced Options.
3. Now choose the Windows Startup Settings option
4. Then hit the Restart button
Getting To Safe Mode From Within Windows 8
1. Press the Win+R key combination and type msconfig in the run box
2. Click the Boot tab. Check the \”Safe boot\” box and select \”Minimal\” for a typical safe boot. Click Apply and your computer will boot into Safe Mode next time it restarts.
