Issue: The decimal separator for numeric values cannot be changed in AutoCAD. It is always the dot “.”.
In some countries the decimal separator is the “,” (comma), so the numeric keypad cannot be used easily for entering numeric values.
Environment: Windows 7, 8 and 10
Causes: The comma does not work in numeric values as the decimal separator.
Solution: Creating an adapted keyboard layout and using that keyboard layout only in AutoCAD.
For this the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator can be downloaded: Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator Open the MS Keyboard Layout Creator Load the keyboard layout used in the system (File > Load Existing Keyboard …) Change the decimal separator (numeric keypad) to “.” Create the package (Project > Build DLL and Setup package) Install the package created and restart the computer.
