How To Make Yoshinoya Beef Bowl (Gyudon) (Recipe) 牛丼の作り方(レシピ)

Review of the Yoshinoya restaurant in Bangkok

This is a review of the Yoshinoya restaurant in Bangkok. The Yoshinoya restaurant is a Japanese fast food restaurant which serves simple Japanese food. We visited the branch located inside the Terminal 21 shopping mall. The regular size beef bowl proved to be tasty but also a but pricey considering its meagre quantity.
The EatSleepBangkok channel focuses on the Cost of Living in Bangkok, Thailand.

HUGE Beef Bowl BREAKFAST at Yoshinoya – Japanese FAST FOOD + Tokyo Skytree Tour | Tokyo, Japan

There are many cities and countries around the world that are so beautiful and so rich in culture, history, and cuisine that I’ve classified them as places everyone must visit at least once in their lifetime. After spending twelve incredible days sightseeing around Japan in January of 2019, I can add the island nation to that list. This country is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited and I’m so excited to share my adventures there with you guys!

On the freezing cold morning of my third day in Tokyo, I began my day with an outstanding breakfast that had my taste buds in Japanese food heaven and went on a tour of one of the city’s most notable landmarks! Come along with me as my exploration of Tokyo continues!
For breakfast, I decided to hit up Yoshinoya, a multinational fast food chain that originated in Tokyo in 1899. Breakfast isn’t a big thing in Japan, but Yoshinoya is one of the best places to get some. Their motto is tasty, lowpriced, and quick, so it’s perfect for travelers on a budget who are crunched for time. They serve huge beef bowls that I couldn’t wait to try, and they only cost roughly $7 U.S.!
I tried to be as quiet and discreet as possible while I drank my green tea and looked over their menu; there were other people in the restaurant and I didn’t want to disturb them. Privacy is big in Japan and it’s respectful to be as quiet as possible in public places.
Their menu is huge and comes with lots of options, including ones that are more soupy, but I went with a large beef bowl with onions, sticky sushi rice, an egg, and scallions with a sauce. The beef was very juicy and fatty, and incredibly flavorful. Then I added the rice, egg, and scallions to the beef and mixed it all together. This large bowl only cost me 650 Yen, or $5.86 U.S.!
The egg yolk running through the rice was fantastic and added a lot of flavor to the bowl, even though they only give you a little bit of beef, and the rest of the bowl is rice. It reminded me of a super creamy, silky rice. It was so delicious! Adding soy sauce to the last bit of rice made it even better!
In all, I spent only 15 minutes there, and then I was back out in the freezing cold to head to my next destination. On my way, I stopped at a vending machine and grabbed a really pungent Wonda Wonderful cold coffee for 130 Yen, or $1.17 U.S. I had about three hours to kill before my next food tour, so I walked about 30 minutes east to the Tokyo Skytree, which at 2,000 feet tall is the tallest tower in Tokyo and second tallest in the world! I love visiting skyscrapers and towers and I couldn’t wait to get a bird’seye view of Tokyo!
The Tokyo Skytree is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., but the final entrance is 9 p.m., so you have all day to check it out. A ticket to the Tembo Deck is 2,060 Yen, or roughly $18.55 U.S., but if you want to go to the highest observation deck, the Tembo Gallery, you have to pay an additional 1,030 Yen, or $9.28 U.S. I decided to stick with the ticket I had, which would take me up to 350 meters.
After a 50second ride up, I stepped out onto the Tembo Deck, where I got a phenomenal view of the entire city! I was really impressed with the observation deck. There was lots of space and the windows were huge! You can walk around it and see Tokyo from lots of different vantage points, and you can even see Mount Fuji in the distance! On lower levels, you can find a gift shop, Musashi Restaurant, and a glass floor you can stand on. If you want to get the best views in all of Tokyo, go to the Tokyo Skytree. You won’t regret it!
I hope you enjoyed my amazing beef bowl breakfast and Tokyo Skytree tour! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. And please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. I will see you in the next travel food adventure!
