Whether its images, music, videos or applications we know that the most important stuff on people’s phones is stored in the user memory. The moto e 5 plus allows you to expand your memory by using a micro SD card. Your phone supports a microSD card up to 256 GB.
The type to buy depends on how you’ll format the card:
Portable storage (can use card in different devices): A Class 2, 4, or 6 card is sufficient.
Internal storage (card used only by phone): Use a high speed card such as UHS-1 type for best performance. Class 2, 4, or 6 cards are slower than your phone’s internal storage, so using them for internal storage would slow your phone’s performance.
To insert an SD card:
Insert the tool into the hole in the tray and gently push to pop it out.
Insert or remove the cards as needed.
Push the tray back into the phone.
Move photos, videos, music to SD card
To free up internal storage on your phone:
Make sure you’ve inserted and set up your SD card. Open the Files app and touch Clean. , then navigate to and select one or more files or folders to move. Introduced with Marshmallow, Adoptable storage allows Android to ‘adopt’ external storage media to act like an internal storage one. While there is an option of not ‘adopting’ the SD card, it will limit the usefulness of the external storage for simple file management purposes.
If you end up ‘adopting’ the external storage, Android will format and encrypt the card and then offer the option to migrate your app data and other content that is usually present in /sdcard to the new media. This way, you will automatically end up freeing a precious amount of space on the internal storage of your device.
You can also manually move apps to the ‘adopted’ SD card through Settings -> Apps. Developers, however, will have to ensure that their app is updated to support adoptable storage media. Compatible apps when installed will automatically be installed on the storage disk that has the most amount of free space. While you can remove an adopted SD card from the device, it is strongly recommended that you don’t do so since it can lead to system instability.
