How to Clear Your Furthest Read Page on Kindle
It’s really annoying when you’re trying to re-read an eBook and your Kindle or Kindle app keeps trying to get you to jump to the end because that’s the “Furthest Location Read.” Here’s how to fix it.
For some weird reason, there’s no way to reset your furthest read location on a Kindle or in the app; you have to go to the Amazon website. In theory, once you say “No” your Kindle should stop bugging you to jump ahead but I’ve had issues with it in the past.
Head to Manage Your Content and Devices on Amazon. Under the Your Content tab, find the book where you want to reset the furthest read location.
Click on the three little dots, and then select the “Clear Furthest Page Read” link.
Click the “Clear Furthest Page Read” button to confirm.
The next time you open the book, your current location will be the new furthest read page across all your devices.
Kindle tip: Reset the “furthest page read” of a book you’re re-reading
Thanks to the Kindle’s handy “Whispersync” feature, you can start reading a book on, say, your Kindle Fire, then pick up right where you left off on another Kindle-friendly device, like an Android phone or iPhone.
But if you try to re-read a Kindle book that you finished a year ago, your various Kindle devices will want to jump to the very last page you read—meaning, most likely, the end of the book—even if you only re-read to Chapter 2 the other day.
Ugh.
The good news, though, is that you can reset the “furthest page read” for any Kindle book you wish.
Once that’s done, the Kindle’s Whispersync feature (which also keeps track of your bookmarks, highlights, and notes) will essentially forget the last page you read in a given book and start over—and yes, that means you’ll again be able to jump back and forth between your various Kindle devices without losing your place.
Here’s how…
Log onto your Amazon account from a desktop browser, hover your mouse over the “Your Account” tab, then select “Manage Your Kindle” from the drop-down menu.
Browse your Kindle library until you find the book you’re re-reading, or just type the title into the search box.
Once you’ve found the right book, click the “Actions” button on the right side of the page and click the “Clear furthest page read” option.
Now, the next time you open that particular book, the first page it opens to will become the “furthest” page read as far as your Kindle devices and apps are concerned.

How to disable continuous scrolling on Kindle

How to fix:

Does continuous scrolling turn back on automatically? ? Several people have commented that their kindle is turning scrolling on automatically. For example, they turn it off in the morning, come back to their kindle in the afternoon, and continuous scroll is turned back on.
We’ve had one comment about a possible fix for this, from Diane Lenard:
“Mine did the same. After chatting with Amazon, I found the only solution was to delete Kindle [app], restart my phone (I have Kindle on my phone) then reload Kindle [app]. It worked fine after that. I cut it off once and it stayed off! Yea!”
