‘m not sure if this is the best place to be asking this question, but I figured it would be worth a shot. Anyways, I have a Lexus ES350 (2008), the one with the remote start key. The little black key fob part of the key fell off of the mechanical key while I was walking around my campus a few days ago, so now all I have is the mechanical key (which I can use to unlock my car.) I need to drive in order to get to classes, etc. but can’t figure out how to start my car without the key fob part that fell off of the key. (I still have the “L-shaped” silver mechanical key that goes inside the key fob)Is it still possible to start my car without the black part of the key fob that fell off the mechanical key?

Before you start your ES350 remotely, ensure that the vehicle is parked in a well ventilated area. Starting your vehicle in an enclosed space, like a closed garage, introduces risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Remote start procedure for ES350
You can remotely start your Lexus ES350 by following these simple steps:
Press and release the LOCK button twice within two seconds on the key fob of your ES350.
Then press and hold the LOCK button for three seconds on the key fob. The turn signal lights flash multiple times and the engine starts. Once started remotely, the engine will run for 10 minutes and then shut down automatically.

Press the AUTO button on the climate control switches panel before turning off the engine in your Lexus ES350 for optimal heating/cooling performance.
Extend engine running time
When you remotely start the engine of your ES350, it will run for 10 minutes and then shut off automatically. When this happens, you can perform another remote start procedure which doubles the engine running time.
