I was really ready to hate this movie. I assumed it would just be slapstick humor, offensive language and clichés. Yes, there is profanity. And yes, there are many clichés. But this film makes fun of the stereotypes and the people who actually believe them. If you don’t understand the humor’s underlying message, you will still enjoy this film.
Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell are a great team. The supporting actors are great. I laughed so hard that sometimes I couldn’t breathe. I rented the movie but wish I had just bought it because I’m going to watch it again!!!

Before giving advice to Stewart, John “Doc” Fuller served two prison sentences – one for forgery and 10 years for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. As a counselor, he has helped countless people navigate the prison system and even wrote a book called The Ten Prison Commandments.
Fuller addresses his customers’ greatest fears head-on.
“‘Am I going to be raped? Am I going to be killed?'” Fuller said, are among people’s biggest concerns. Fuller says these occurrences are unlikely to happen, but his guidance can lower those odds even further.
“Hopefully I can help them avoid situations where that could happen,” Fuller said.

As for Fuller’s #1 tip for surviving jail time, he offers this: Fly under the radar. Fuller also advises not staring at other inmates and definitely not betraying them.
“Inmates hate informers,” Fuller said.
In “Get Hard,” millionaire hedge fund manager James (Will) is arrested for fraud and sentenced to serve time in San Quentin. The judge gives him 30 days to get his affairs in order, and within that time James turns to Darnell (Kevin), a hard-working small business owner who has never been to prison, to prepare him for life behind bars.
