If you find that the rubber is dry, cracked, or very hard, use Rubber Conditioner. This is a great little product that conditions, restores and softens worn rubber. This greatly facilitates the installation of wind deflectors.
Starting at a corner, first seat the edge of the wind deflector into the window channel and then work your way back, gently snapping the wind deflector along the channel. When installed correctly, the wind deflectors are secure and fit snugly. If you are supplied with wind deflector clips, only use them if the wind deflectors are not already in place (they are not needed on every car). Secure each clip firmly between the deflector and the door frame by pushing upwards with a screwdriver until the deflector and clip are secure.
Finally, check that the window opens and closes properly and that the wind deflectors do not get stuck in it. Once you’ve closed the window completely, let it sit for 24 to 48 hours to allow the channel rubber to nestle around the wind deflector.

They allow occupants to open the windows in rainy weather while preventing rain from entering the car. To ensure you receive the correct wind deflectors for your car, enter the registration number or select your car from the drop down menus on this page. The main thing to look out for is the equipment feature in the description of the deflectors. Some wind deflectors are only designed for cars with a certain number of doors (since the number of doors affects the length of the deflectors, e.g. a 3-door car will have longer doors than a 5-door version of the same car). How do you install wind deflectors?

1. With the window down, clean the frame and channel that the wind deflector fits into. Use a window cleaner or mild solvent to ensure it does not interfere with the installation of the deflectors. You can also use a flathead screwdriver to gently scrape away the dirt in the slot.
As the rubber around the door frame can harden and wear out. The use of a product such as Rubber Conditioner is highly recommended to condition and soften the rubber. After applying Rubber Care, leave it on the rubber for at least 20 minutes before proceeding to the next step. This considerably simplifies the installation of the wind deflector.
2. Now we can mount the deflectors. Place the front edge of the wind deflector into the window channel first, then work your way back by gently pushing it in. Make sure the wind deflector is securely mounted. Most of our wind deflectors come with extra clips to attach them. However, they are not required for every car, so you may not get clips. If your wind deflector came with matching clips proceed to step 3, otherwise proceed to step 4.
3. The clips have one smooth side and one side with small barbs or hooks. The clips fit with the smooth side out or away from the car. Use a screwdriver to push the clips up until they are securely fastened between the deflector and the door frame. The assembly instructions indicate where each clip should be attached.
4. When you are finished, it is important to check that the windows are working and closing properly and that the deflectors are not obstructing them. This is especially important for power windows. In rare cases, the anti-trap function may be triggered when the window is closed. This safety feature is designed to prevent fingers or other objects from being trapped when the window is closed. The best way to fix this problem is to have someone help you. As you pull the window up, place your palm on each side of the glass and gently help the window rise to its fully closed position. Be careful not to force or damage any components and keep fingers and hands away from areas where they could be pinched. If the window is completely closed, leave it in this position for at least 24 hours. This gives the rubber seals time to nestle around the wind deflector and the next time you operate your window it will work flawlessly.
*Note: The wind deflectors may appear scratched when initially removed from the box. However, they are covered with a clear plastic film and when you peel it off, the deflector underneath is in perfect condition!
Before you remove the plastic wrap, it is best to hold the wind deflectors against your car door to check that they are the right size and shape.
