One of the screws cannot be removed without removing the entire LCA, the other you can slide all the way out with the LCA attached. But once you loosen the 2 screws you can use a brass pick to slide the T-bar mount back onto the T-bar and get it out of the way.
Lower Control Arm R&R. Remove torsion bars?
You should be able to disconnect and remove the lower control arm without having to mess with the torsion spring that connects to the upper control arm. You only need to disconnect the lower ball joint. As soon as the upper wishbone is folded all the way down, everything else swings down, no problem. I recently installed ball joint spacers in my rig and was able to swing the hub assembly down, still connected to the lower controller, with the upper ball joint disconnected. without problems. I can’t understand why this wouldn’t be the case if the lower ball joint was separate, allowing the control arm to swing freely down and out. Also, this is all pretty clearly described in the Factory Service Manual (FSM). , which you can easily find and download as a .pdf copy. I would take a look if you have any questions.
