How do you remove marker from screenshot on iphone?

Find an image that has blacked-out text, open it in the Photos app, and tap “Edit” in the top right to open the image editor. You’ll be using the tools at the bottom to remove the highlighter.

How to Get Permanent Marker Off Photographs

Today, most of the images we post online or share with others come from our smartphones. Whenever there’s personal information in it, like debit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers, passwords, and other sensitive information, it’s easy to hop into your iPhone’s markup tools to redact the text before sharing. But a digital marker cannot hide everything. When you use markup in iOS, whether from Photos, Files, Mail or another app, or directly in the screenshot editor, you may only be partially hiding data you want to keep private. The marker, also called a highlighter, is a popular tool for quick concealment because of its bold strokes, but it has an opacity issue that’s not visible to the naked eye. Don’t Miss: Blur Faces and Text in Videos with This Free, Easy-to-Use Video Editing App for iPhone Since it’s a highlighter and not a solid marker, a finger swipe effectively creates a transparent layer over the text Highlight – even at 100 percent opacity. Flicking your finger back and forth a few times will layer the effect, creating what appears to be an opaque solid line that looks like it’s hiding the stuff underneath. But for many colors, and especially black and white, you can adjust the marker as you edit to reveal the sensitive information hidden within. Affected iOS versions: iOS 15, iOS 14, iOS 13, iOS 12, iOS 11.

Redacting Text with the Markup Tools To try it out, use the highlighter in Markup to obscure text in a photo or screenshot. If you already have some obfuscated images, move on to the next section to see how to uncover the obscure. Take a screenshot and tap the thumbnail—or open an image or document in an app like Photos, Files, or Mail—then find the markup tools. Then tap on the highlighter tool that looks like a thick marker. Tap the highlighter again to adjust the thickness and opacity (make sure the slider is at the far right). Next, tap the color picker and choose black, the most common color for obfuscation. Don’t miss: Delete and obfuscate identifying information in your protest photos for more anonymous sharing. Swipe your finger back and forth over the information you want to hide a few times until you can’t see what’s there. You may need to apply a few layers to adequately hide the text. When you’re done, save the image or document as you normally would.

Removing highlighter blurring from images Now for the fun part. Find an image with redacted text, open it in the Photos app and tap “Edit” in the top right to open the image editor. You will use the tools below to remove the highlighter. Depending on how many black strokes obscure the text, you can reveal the hidden information with two to six adjustments. Try these and see what happens: Brilliance: 100%

: 100% Shadow : 100%

: 100% Brightness: 100% If you’re still having trouble seeing what’s there, try adding any or all of the following options: Exposure : 100%

: 100% Highlights : 100%

: 100% Contrast: -100% If necessary, zoom in on the highlighted area to see it better. Although you can’t see everything underneath the black highlighter, you should see enough. If it’s a phone number, email, password, or address, there’s a good chance you’ll understand most of it – if not all of it. Don’t Miss: Edit Videos with the Crop, Filter, and Adjustment Tools in Your iPhone’s Photos App Several other variables can make this process easier or more difficult. If the black highlighter isn’t very thick, you might be able to remove it somewhat with just two or three different adjustment tools, rather than all six listed above. Also, the color of the text and background could complicate the process. It’s easier to remove the highlighter when you’re dealing with black or dark text on a light background. However, if the text is light in color, e.g. For example, if it’s yellow and the background is also light, you might have trouble seeing what’s under the black highlighter.

Experiment with different background and highlighter colors Depending on the highlighter color, you may need to use different photo editing tools or adjust the same tools up or down. For example, try using Brightness (100) on a red highlighter. If that doesn’t work, try Highlights (100) as well. Still a no go? Then try some of the other customization tools. For white highlighter, try Sharpness (100), Brightness (–100), Contrast (–100), and Brilliance (100). Below you can see different highlighter colors and how the photo editing tools affect them. Don’t Miss: Toggle adjustments in your iPhone’s photo editor to compare before and after effects. If you’re in dark mode, it doesn’t make much of a difference. Following the same steps as above, black highlighter and white highlighter will disappear with the right tools as shown below.

Make it harder for others to reveal your private information Hiding sensitive data doesn’t mean leaving markup tools in the dust. It’s still possible that the stuff you make disappear may never come back. And when all else fails, there are third-party solutions.

Tip 1: Add more highlighter layers The highlighter that makes you look your best can still be used to hide content. You just have to use more levels. Instead of just swiping back and forth across what you’re trying to hide, lift your finger off the screen before each new swipe. This will add thicker layers of highlighter, making it much harder to reveal with simple adjustments.

Tip 2: Use Highlighter on Certain Settings Pages Believe it or not, when you take a screenshot of certain information on your iPhone, iOS helps obfuscate that data when you use markup tools. It seems to work better when you obfuscate from an app like Photos, not the screenshot editor, so be careful. For example, the “About” page Settings -> General. For example, if you swipe your serial number or IMEI once or twice, iOS will think you’re highlighting them. But swipe three or four times and iOS will think you’re trying to hide it and help you out by making it impossible to see. Sometimes it only takes two swipes. Under “Passwords” (iOS 14, iOS 15), “Passwords & Accounts” (iOS 12, iOS 13) or “Accounts & Passwords” (iOS 11) in Settings, a screenshot will automatically remove the password from the page – nice security feature. You can also disguise the username with three or four swipes.

Tip 3: Use the Pen Tool instead The Pen Tool in Markup, the leftmost icon, is a solid “marker.” At 100% opacity, a single layer of the pen of any color is enough to hide what’s underneath from prying eyes and image-editing tools. A pen tool is also an option, but it acts more like a highlighter since you need multiple layers to obfuscate something effectively. If the layers are thin someone can reveal the information later. So it’s best to stick to the pen if you need 100% security.

Tip 4: Or even the shape tool You could also use another highlight tool to hide information. Instead of using the drawing tools, tap the plus sign (+) in the bottom right and select one of the available shapes. Position it over the text you want to hide, then tap the icon in the bottom left to see more options. For the arrow tool, you can make a thick line out of it instead. For the comment box, square and circle, you can fill it in so that everything is one color. Then you can select a color if the current color is not what you want. No matter what you later do in the image editing tools, there’s no way to reveal what’s underneath.

How do you remove magic marker?

Rubbing alcohol, hand sanitiser, hairspray, nail polish remover, or non-gel toothpaste can all be used to remove permanent marker from everyday fabric items like clothes, pillows, or bedsheets.

How to Get Permanent Marker Off Photographs

Everything in life is temporary except permanent markers. We’ve all used permanent markers for something; Labeling, creative projects, covering stains on shoes, writing our names on our lunches, decorating, or even creating fake tattoos on ourselves (or others). Permanent markers are wonderful for creating long-lasting memories, but using them can become a nightmare when we accidentally drop them on our desk, purse, favorite shirt, or new carpet.

The good news is that you don’t have to throw away your items stained with permanent markers. Just because this marker is “permanent” doesn’t mean you have to see that permanent “stain” as a reminder of your mishap.

Permanent marker stains can be removed from practically anything, it just takes a little time and patience. With that in mind, we’ve put together some tips for removing permanent marker from a variety of surfaces, including wood, plastic, fabric, and furniture, using household products.

Additional tips and advice

If the first removal attempt fails, choose another method and try again

It is important to test on an inconspicuous surface to see if the solution is effective

Do not mix different detergents together. Always try one method first and if it doesn’t work, rinse/wash thoroughly before moving on to the next

The success of the removal largely depends on the surface and the time the stain has been present. The longer the mark is on a surface, the more “permanent” it becomes

Do not use abrasive cleaners to erase permanent marker as they can damage porous surfaces

Apply the solution to the stained part and leave it on for at least five minutes

Make sure you don’t use heat like an iron or dryer as this can set the stain

An alternative is a water-soluble, low-toxic solution. These are citrus-based and can be just as effective at removing ink as their oil-based counterparts

So, let’s get into that……

material

Rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer, hairspray, nail polish remover, or non-gel toothpaste can all be used to remove permanent marker from everyday fabrics like clothing, pillows, or bed sheets.

So before you throw your permanent marker stained clothes in the bin, try wiping the stain with alcohol-based hairspray. Dab the hairspray onto the stain and let sit for a few minutes before placing in a cold machine wash. Sprinkle some baking soda on the stain and scrub it with a toothbrush can also help. You can also try rubbing alcohol. It is recommended that you blot the stain rather than rubbing it as this may push the stain deeper into the fabric.

leather

The most important part of removing permanent marker from leather is to do it as soon as possible as the stain can become permanently attached. Permanent markers can be easily removed from leather surfaces with distilled white vinegar. Let the vinegar sit on the stain for a few minutes to ensure it penetrates. Then try to wipe the stain with a damp cloth in a circular motion.

carpet

You go out of your way to keep your beautiful carpets clean, but accidents can happen at any time. Rubbing alcohol is the most effective way to remove permanent marker from carpet. Any rubbing can push the stain further into the carpet fibers, so act quickly and make sure you blot it up. Use a clean, damp cloth to soak up the alcohol and remove the stain from the carpet. You can also use an oil-free hairspray, lots of fire rags, and a lot of patience. White vinegar and dish soap can also be used, just leave it on the stain and then gently scrub with a toothbrush.

Laminate, plastic & metal

Just reach into your pantry to gently remove permanent marker from laminated surfaces without damaging the surface or leaving a hazy residue. Tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon or purely vegetable cooking oil can do wonders for stains. Concentrated oil extracts like lemon or eucalyptus can also be strong against colors and dyes, so use with caution. For larger areas, allow the oil to sit on the stain for a few minutes before gently rubbing away. Alternatively, try an oil-based product like hairspray, hand sanitizer, or nail polish remover.

skin

Have you ever had a permanent marker on your hands while writing? It’s frustrating, but it’s easily removed with makeup remover wipes by simply rubbing it over the area in a circular motion. Rubbing alcohol is another option, but it can irritate sensitive skin, so try to do this as gently as possible.

If you want to avoid these harsh mark-removing solutions, opt for a safer method like sunscreen, vegetable oil, olive, or coconut oil on the marks and rub it off with a dry washcloth.

The writing on the wall

Lemon essential oil is great for removing permanent marker from painted walls. The oil and acidic lemon combine to gently lift the stain from the surface without damaging the paint. It smells amazing too! Pour the oil onto a clean washcloth and rub the marker stains into place. If the cloth is saturated with ink, discard it and use a fresh one to avoid ink smearing. Repeat until the marks are gone.

Other options include a gentle exfoliation with white toothpaste, baking soda, or hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer or other alcohol-based products can sometimes remove color, so test it on a small area first. These methods also work on glass and mirrors.

wood

Toothpaste can not only remove stains from your teeth, but also stains from your wooden furniture or floors. It’s better to add some baking soda to your toothpaste. Apply a good amount of toothpaste and baking soda to a dry cotton makeup remover pad and rub gently in the direction of the wood grain.

Alternatively, for stubborn stains, dab some oil on a magic eraser-type sponge, but be careful to avoid scratching. The citric acid in the oil attracts the ink and will not damage or stain the wood surface.

How do you remove the paint from a picture on Snapchat?

Magic Eraser – You can now select and remove objects from your Snaps, blurring their surrounding to cover the empty spot. Just select the Magic Eraser icon, paint over the object you want removed, and Snap will “Photoshop” it out automatically.

How to Get Permanent Marker Off Photographs

It’s Snapchat’s turn to copy Instagram while staying ahead of the competition. Today, Snapchat launched a suite of new creative tools, some of which mimic Instagram’s features, including the option to override the 10-second time limit on viewing photos, which still disappear after you close them. But Snapchat’s new option to let users delete real-world objects from their photos shows that it’s still a pioneer of the visual communication format.

As Snap continues to add more creative tools, it now organizes them all on the right side of the screen for easy access.

Here’s a breakdown of all of Snapchat’s new creative features:

Unlimited Snaps – Now you can select the infinity symbol in the snap photo timer so friends can watch the snap for as long as they like. However, it will still disappear once it is closed. This can be useful for sharing important information like an address via photo. Instagram already allows unlimited viewing of short-lived stories and direct messages.

Looping Videos – You can tap the looping icon on the right side of the snap composer to repeat your videos over and over, which is great for short videos or highlighting a specific moment. This gives Snap an animated GIF-style feature to compete with Instagram’s Boomerang.

Draw with Emoji – You can now use an emoji as a drawing brush. Select one of the creative tools on the right, and instead of the color of a pen tip, you’ll see a trail of that emoji as you draw. This makes it easier to draw with emojis by sticking them one by one. Instagram actually tried something similar with its Candy Cane Christmas brush back in December, but currently only offers more traditional marker, highlighter, and neon brushes.

Magic Eraser – You can now select and remove objects from your Snaps and blur their surroundings to cover up the blank space. Just select the Magic Eraser icon, paint over the object you want to remove, and Snap will automatically use Photoshop to erase it.

Now the question is how long before Instagram offers its own magic eraser and emoji brush.

How to Get Permanent Marker Off Photographs

You decided to have a quiet afternoon flipping through old photos, only to find that your five-year-old got there first — with permanent marker. Now your parents’ holiday in Ireland has a googly-eyed stick figure on your father’s head and you’re wearing a mustache in your wedding picture? The pictures are probably not ruined. There are ways to repair the damage and recover the photos.

Cleaning the photo

Place the photo on a flat, clean surface 1. Wipe the surface beforehand and make sure it is dry.

Try the dry erase marker. Do not apply more than a short stroke to an area covered with permanent marker.

Wait 30 seconds, then take a soft cloth and gently wipe the dry erase marks.

If the permanent marker came off with the dry-erase marker, then reapply the dry-erase marker to a larger area, no more than one square inch.

Quickly wipe away those new dry-erase markers. Continue applying the markers, wiping one square inch at a time, until all traces of the permanent marker are gone.

Tips This is the easiest and cheapest way to remove permanent markers. If you don’t manage to remove every trace of your child’s graffiti, all is not lost. There are other options. Photographers sometimes use high-grade alcohol such as methanol. Another remedy is Sol-U-Mel, a non-caustic cleaning solvent manufactured by Melaleuca. One of these things, applied carefully, should do the trick. If even after all this you still find traces, we live in the digital age and software like Photoshop can restore the image to its perfection or even enhance it. Unfortunately you have to do without the original photo. If it is an antique picture, you should send your child to the grandparents for a while.
