Jungle Juice On Ice? Trust The Answer

If you’ve ever accidentally left a bottle of juice on the counter overnight, only to silently pop it back in the fridge the next morning and pray it’s still good, you’re not alone. Many people make the same mistake, but it begs the question: how long can juice sit unrefrigerated before it goes bad? The technical answer isn’t as long as you might think, even when it comes to pasteurized juice (and most commercial juices in the United States are pasteurized, meaning they’ve been heated and treated to destroy harmful bacteria) . According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, perishable foods intended to be refrigerated, such as juice, can only be held at room temperature for two hours before it is considered unsafe to consume.

Some juice companies give their products a little more leeway, but it really isn’t much longer than US FDA guidelines — and almost certainly not overnight. For example, Tropicana does not recommend “using refrigerated juice that has been stored unrefrigerated for more than three hours,” and the Naked Juice makers “do not recommend drinking juice that has been stored unrefrigerated for more than several hours. ” The same recommendations apply to boxes and bottles of ambient juice after they have been opened.

If you think these guidelines for properly storing pasteurized juice are harsh, you’ll be appalled by the guidelines for refrigerating unpasteurized juice that hasn’t been treated to kill the bacteria that could make you sick. Unpasteurized juice should always be stored in the fridge, and you should put it back in the fridge as soon as you’re done using it. But really, it’s just good practice to always keep your juice in the fridge, unpasteurized or not. And while you can safely drink the juice you left on the counter, doing so definitely increases your risk of getting sick — so don’t be a slob and just put the juice back in the fridge once you’re done with it are where you know it belongs.

Using regular ice cubes will actually water down a bowl of punch throughout the evening. Here are a few basic tricks to ensure your punch doesn’t lose momentum as guests circulate.

1. Mix and freeze some punch in ice cube trays ahead of time, then pour into the punch bowl throughout the evening. Because the melt cubes are the same strength as the punch, they don’t water it down. Make more punch-based ice cubes than you expect so you don’t run out prematurely and resort to regular ice cubes instead. Don’t let leftovers go to waste! Place leftover punch cubes in glasses of sparkling water to add a fruity twist to an otherwise simple drink.

2. Mix the fruit concentrate with water according to the directions on the concentrate and freeze in an ice cube tray. Use a juice you already put in the punch to avoid clashing flavors, or use a few different types to keep the flavors balanced.

3. Use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes. Of course, it’s best to use fruit to complement the punch, but there are certain ones that hold up a little better over time than others. Small berries like blueberries or raspberries will thaw fairly quickly, while larger, firmer fruits will stay frozen longer. Opt for whole frozen strawberries, peach slices, grapes, or frozen diced mango or pineapple.

Don’t have time to conjure up flavored ice cubes? Keep punch chilled without watering it down by presenting it in a smaller punch bowl. Refill the bowl from a chilled pitcher later in the evening; Going this route will reduce the overall amount of ice you need for the punch.

How long can orange juice stay at room temperature?

You bought a whole lot of orange juice for your next brunch. Sweet, tart and delicious, orange juice pairs perfectly with your planned menu of soufflé pancakes and Eggs Benedict. Not only that, it is also an essential ingredient for your mimosa. The only problem? You forgot to put all the orange juice in the fridge when unpacking your groceries and accidentally left a few containers in the car for a few hours. Is the orange juice still drinkable?

According to the FDA, it’s a bad idea to leave perishable foods, which include orange juice, at room temperature for longer than two hours (or just one hour in high temperatures of 90 degrees or more) because it can harbor harmful bacteria like salmonella, E. coli and Clostridium botulinum, spread rapidly, which could lead to a serious foodborne illness. The FDA also notes that the temperature inside most cars can be above room temperature, and warns against leaving food in the car for more than an hour or two.

HOW DOES JUNGLE JUICE WORK?

Jungle sap acts like galactagogues. Galactagogues are substances that help increase the body’s milk production by increasing the total amount of prolactin (the hormone that tells the breast to produce more milk) that the brain secretes. Although there is evidence of its effectiveness, it should be noted that there is no medical claim to back it up.

The few benefits that have been recorded as a result of using jungle sap are discussed below:

Jungle juice has often been recommended to mothers who are low on breast milk and looking for what they can do to boost supplies. In fact, there are lactation consultants who even encourage their patients to choose this option instead of taking medication.

While the ingredients aren’t hard to come by in the market, another interesting thing about it is that the preparation process doesn’t take any time. The liquid is prepared in a few minutes. While some moms feel the effects almost immediately after ingesting the liquid, others feel the effects over 24 hours after they start drinking.

I have 6 bottles from the “Just Add” range from the new company “Jungle Juice” on my desk.

Jungle Juice E-Liquid is from a brand that manufactures and bottles their liquid in the UK in an ISO 5 clean room. The company itself is a small family business based in South Wales.

Apparently the flavors were beta tested by a panel of over 2000 vapers. Your feedback allows Jungle Juice to make adjustments to improve the e-liquid. If the feedback is 98% positive, they release the liquid for sale.

Introducing: Just Add Range from Jungle Juice

Their liquids are available in 0mg nicotine strength in 60ml or 120ml short fill bottles with Nic Shots. You add the nicotine shots as needed to increase the nicotine levels to your liking.

The bottles have an easy-to-remove tip to prevent you from covering yourself with e-liquid when adding nicotine.

The liquid is a mixture of 60% VG and 40% PG. This is better for sub-ohm devices, but some MTL devices can run quite well with it since it’s not a super-thick liquid.

All liquids have pharmaceutical and kosher bases and are free from stevia, sucralose, acetoin, acetylpropionyl and diacetyl. Also, according to their website, they use at least 17% flavorings.

I’ll be using my trusty Kaees Aladdin RDA as it’s easy to just rewind and dry burn between flavors, allowing me to taste each flavor rather than a cocktail of several! I put the RDA on the Eleaf iStick Nowos which is a handy little internal battery mod for use under 80W.

I will not add nicotine shots to mine as I am a hardcore! Adding Nic-Shots changes the strength of the flavor and I generally vape sub-ohm at 6mg so the flavor may be diluted too much.

Obviously, with e-liquids, taste is subjective, so I’ll try to stick to how closely they match the description or target taste. The vaping gear you use can also alter the flavor profile, as some flavors are stronger on some settings.

Blue Lagoon

Jungle Juice says…

I say….

The smell of it sounds very familiar to me… I’m thinking of Blackcurrant Chewits – which are also one of my absolute favorite candies!

The taste wasn’t really what I expected. It’s not as much wallop as the smell led me to believe.

There’s a fruity flavor with a cooling undertone – this has got to be the Blue Slush.

I enjoy it and there is no horrible taste or chemical aftertaste. There’s a lot of steam for a 60% VG liquid!

Thought I might have Vapers Tongue but I’m good at tasting my other e-liquids? In fact, I spent most of the afternoon vaping it to see if anything was wrong with my taste buds, but I still found the flavor to be quite muted. Also, I’m using a good flavored RDA to test this so the flavor might fall on a tank etc.

My advice to Jungle Juice in this case is to add more flavor – the taste is lovely, just needs a little more of it. I didn’t add a nic shot either so it will dilute a bit more if you do.

Rhubarb and Pudding

I say….

Apparently Jungle Juice spent 5 months testing to perfect the rhubarb vanilla flavor…

I used to love the hard boiled candies with rhubarb and custard that were coated in sugar and too many of them would be like sandpaper on the tongue.

The smell of this liquid is very, very similar, but also mixed with a slight Pear Props – like you’ve kept the Pear Drops and R&C candy in the same paper bag!

However, I find the taste of “solvents”… Very chemical and I feel the urge to drink used brushes in it.

I was pretty stumped by this so I ended up getting a friend to try it and tell me what he thought.

Without telling him what it tasted like, I asked him what it tasted like and he immediately said rhubarb—sweet rhubarb. I asked if he could taste pudding but he couldn’t identify that taste so this seems close to the description.

He said it was worth 9 out of 10 as it was very nice but not much custard. In fact, he took the bottle home as he liked it so much! It doesn’t get full marks just because of the lack of custard!

Lush strawberry

I say….

This is another one that smells like candy – oh boy, it’s a perfect Strawberry Chewits scent – delicious! These cute vapes are making me hungry!

I find that quite difficult to describe. You get an almost tingly sorbet-strawberry sensation on the inhale, but on the exhale it’s smooth like a strawberry chew. You can almost feel it on your tongue!

This is not like a strawberry being picked from a basket. This is more of a strawberry cutie – which is fine with me as I have more of a sweet tooth than Winnie the Pooh. But you might not be happy if you were expecting the plant-based strawberry flavor right away.

Chew fruit salad

Jungle Juice says…

“Separating the Black Jacks from the fruit salads has always been a challenge, but the reward of a sweet chewy treat of juicy berries and tropical fruits is worth it. I say….

I have high hopes for this one. The e-liquid I mostly use in my sub ohm rigs is Stika Bombz Fruit Salad – I rarely use anything else – so this has big ol’ shoes to fill!

From the sniff test, this smells just like that lovely aroma that greets you when you finally get that damn clumsy packaging from the fruit salad chew!

The flavor isn’t quite as strong as I expected. Again, like the strawberry flavor, there’s a bubbly quality that’s really fun and takes me back to my childhood.

I definitely get the fruit salad chew vibe, just wish the flavor had a little more pizzazz. This is very more-ish, just like the cutie!

The flavor of the Jungle Juice version isn’t as strong as the Stika Bombz version, which is still my favorite fruit salad flavor – sorry!

Pink lemonade

Jungle Juice says…

“Close your eyes and let yourself be transported back to the cool pool, party with friends and sip on an ice cold beverage with a shot of deep red raspberry, cloudy Sicilian lemon and wild strawberry”

I say….

Sniffing that liquid reminds me of when we were at school trying to make lemonade. Nothing like what you buy in the stores but a sweet still lemon drink hehe!

Wow, that’s really lemony – and tastes like the school lemonade again. Not the fizzy stuff, but basically sweetened lemon juice that’s had the acid sting removed.

I don’t get a distinct strawberry or raspberry – but there’s something that keeps this liquid from being really sour and tart. Although the lemon flavor is nice and strong, it doesn’t suck your pants up your butt.

This is a beauty – I’m not usually a Lemon fan, but I could happily vape it all day.

I had to make a statement as the other fruity flavors don’t really shine through, but they have to work in the background somehow to counteract the citrus tinge.

Classic chewing gum

I say….

This is another one I was really looking forward to. Despite being 43 years old I still have the taste buds of a 6 year old and I love a drop of Bubblegum E-Liquid. The IVG Bubblegum Millions is still one of my favorites!

The smell of this is just dreamy and really smells like just popping the shell on a “1p Bubbly” gumball… (again shows my age – they’re probably around 67p each now – inflation etc…)

Again, I find myself just wishing that the flavor level was raised a bit.

There’s a bubblegum flavor – but it’s very muted compared to the smell. If that flavor was stronger, this would be a 10/10 e-liquid.

Final Verdict

The Jungle Juice e-liquids are not max VG, they are only 60% VG. Which surprises me as the sweetness, vapor and smoothness are exactly what you would expect from an 80% VG e-liquid.

Since these e-liquids are a bit thinner in composition, they can even be suitable for pod mods and starter vape kits!

Ooh if I could add notes for the bottle design I would! The guys from Hungle Juice did a great job with it. The easy pull out nozzle for adding nicotine and easy to squeeze bottle really helped my gammy hands!

Flavors, while not always 100% as described, are better than expected – at least for me. But I have a real sweet tooth – if you prefer tart or earthy tones, you might find these too sweet.
