The lighting in most hotels isn’t quite romantic or flattering. Therefore, if you’re determined to set up a truly romantic hotel room, consider decorating it with candles. Is it possible to request the hotel a birthday…
If you’re planning a romantic surprise for your partner, you’ve come to the right place. It’s easy to transform even the most average hotel room into a romantic retreat.
It’s about turning ordinary into something magical. Sometimes it’s as simple as replacing the original bedding with a duvet cover, satin pillowcases and sheets. Champagne Lodge is an expert in romantic getaways, so without further ado… here are a few ways you can turn your average hotel room into a romantic vibe.
The lights
The lighting in most hotels is not very romantic or flattering. So if you are determined to set up a truly romantic hotel room, consider decorating it with candles.
Use flat surfaces like shelves, bedside tables, dressers, etc. to place as many candles in your hotel room as possible. Of course, keep all combustible materials, curtains and fabrics safe and away from open flames.
Flowers are a must
If you are thinking about how to set up a romantic hotel room, you must not forget about flowers. Romance and flowers really are two peas in one pod.
With this in mind, floral decor simply cannot be missing if you want to romantically decorate a hotel room for your partner. The perfect combination of romantic bedding and lights creates the right mood and atmosphere, which you can spice up even further with flowers.
Rose petals are the most common floral decor, so you can use artificial or real rose petals to decorate. Flowers transform your hotel room into the most elegant and luxurious romantic suite, if you just spread your rose petals around the room.
Put them on window sills, tables, bathroom countertops, the floor – any place where there is open space must be covered with flower petals. You can go the extra mile by forming a heart on the bed. Or you can even create a path from the door to the bed.
Add scents for more romance
Since hotel rooms don’t necessarily have the most romantic scents, find a romantic scent that will transform an average hotel room into a romantic paradise. Scented candles and incense sticks are a great way to add some mystique to the whole mix.
If you’re not satisfied with your local hotels, check out the romantic suites at The Champagne Lodge for the ultimate romantic getaway.

Is it possible to request the hotel a birthday…
1. Ask for a late hotel check-out
If you’re stuck with a delayed return flight and could use a little more time in your room, then one of the most important things to do upon arrival is to request a late checkout the first time you check in. Ask politely, show your loyalty to the hotel and don’t be afraid to tip the concierge for a favour. And if you’re curious to know more, here’s a more in-depth guide on how to get free late checkout.
2. Ask for a hotel room with a view
View of Antigua’s Carlisle Bay from the Carlisle Suite
A poor view from your hotel window due to unforeseen construction work is not necessarily the hotel’s fault, but it is in its best interest to keep guests happy. If the view from your window is important – let’s face it, sometimes it’s why you booked – then make sure you get the room with the view you want. And even if you didn’t plan ahead, it’s worth asking for a room with a view at check-in; You could just grab a free upgrade!
3. Ask for a list of hidden hotel fees
Hidden fees, city taxes, and additional VAT can result in an annoying surprise when you pay your bill. Make sure you know what to expect in terms of additional extras and whether Wi-Fi, parking, newspapers, breakfast, and in-room entertainment are free. Here are seven more shocking hidden hotel fees to watch out for.
4. Ask about hotel rentals
While you may have heard of the electric guitar and amp rentals offered by Hard Rock Hotels, many properties aren’t that keen on promoting their available rentals. From bikes to golf buggies to trusty umbrellas, it pays to research hotel rentals ahead of time.
5. Ask about additional hotel amenities
Not all hotels have their own spas, pools, saunas, and steam rooms, but many that don’t often compensate by partnering with nearby facilities or sister hotels to offer guests free use of amenities at a nearby location. Aside from spas and saunas, hotels offer handy extras like airport transfers and private cars to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Just ask.
6. Ask for unbiased hotel recommendations
Whether budget, mid-range or luxury hotels, hotels often have both official and unofficial partner establishments with whom they work locally. As a result, some hotels will direct you to the nearest overpriced tourist trap via their websites – so remember to ask the concierge/porter/waiter for an unbiased recommendation as well.
7. About About free hotel toiletries
Toiletries in hotels are like bread in restaurants; They should always be free and you should always get more when you ask for it. If you’ve forgotten your toiletry bag and are suffering from airplane breath, ask at the front desk — and most of the time, the hotel will provide you with a free toothbrush and toothpaste to go along with the array of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, and a sewing kit) every guest deserves.
8. Ask for Netflix in your hotel room
Select Marriott hotels, like the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, allow guests access to their internet-connected TVs so you can log into your Netflix account and stream whatever you want. The partnership between the streaming company and the hotel group is one of the first of its kind, so make sure to ask about Netflix next time you stay at a Marriott.
9. Ask for a hotel upgrade
You want an upgrade – who doesn’t want that – but you don’t want to pay for it, putting you and the hotel at a standoff. The best trick to getting a free upgrade is to ask discreetly if a corner room is available at the same price point, which should give you more space and a better stay.
10. Ask about anti-allergy bedding
The Executive Suite at Conrad Dubai
Your average hotel can’t offer you the Conrad Hotel Miami’s “pillow menu,” but most — if not all — should be able to swap out animal-down comforters and pillows for synthetic alternatives, which tend to be lighter for allergies.
11. Ask for extra clean sheets
Generally, hotels clean the linens every day, but chances are the duvets and blankets on your bed have been used by someone else for more than a few days. Make sure you request a full set of clean linens at check-in—from sheets to blankets. If you ask, they practically have to do it; No hotel wants a review that a guest has been denied a clean place to rest.
12. Ask for a quiet hotel room
No hotel wants you to leave after you’ve had a bad experience, so most are likely willing to hear genuine concerns on behalf of their guests. And what is more important in a hotel than a good night’s sleep? Always ask to be placed in a room away from the elevator and large groups that may cause noise, and definitely not in a connecting room.

That way you don’t have to become a VIP yourself and have a better chance of upgrading,” she says.
Meet the Expert Addie Bell is a travel consultant and founder of luxury travel agency Jetset & Travel.
So, if you and your partner prefer to have someone else handle the planning of the trip, ask your agent who works with airlines and accommodations to check for upgrades on your behalf. If you create your own itinerary and plan to book everything yourself, no problem! There are still plenty of ways to increase the chances of getting an upgrade or two.
Whether it’s leveraging rewards programs, harnessing the power of social media, or asking outright, here’s the ultimate guide to honeymoon upgrades for every part of your vacation.

flights
Share your good news upon check-in
“It helps to speak to the flight attendant before your flight to ask if there’s an empty seat next to you and let them know it’s your honeymoon,” says Bell. Think about it: When the gate agent has to hand out someone to be promoted to first class on a crowded flight, a newlywed couple will stand out, especially when they’re beaming and grinning from ear to ear. “You have a lot of control and it happens!” She says. So take a break from online check-in for a face-to-face conversation with the flight desk. Sometimes the answer to getting upgraded to first class on your honeymoon is as simple as announcing at check-in that you’re newlyweds.
If you’re told there aren’t any seats available, don’t give up just yet. You can check again later during the boarding process. If the agent determines that the flight is overbooked or a business class passenger does not show up, seats may become available. Being well dressed also contributes to your chances for advancement. Gate agents will search for passengers who fit the First Class crowd, so searching together increases your chances of a random upgrade.
Use credit card points
The best way to upgrade without paying hundreds or thousands of dollars is to use credit card points. Many cards reward you with points for every dollar you spend; Once you’ve accumulated enough points, you can transfer them to the frequent flyer account of your choice and use them to ‘buy’ an upgrade (note: you still generally have to pay taxes).
One of the best cards for travelers is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, which offers twice the travel points and 60,000 bonus points if you spend $4,000 in the first three months. With your wedding bills, you can easily hit the minimum, collect the points, and use them to upgrade (or even pay for a full business class ticket) that will take you to your honeymoon in style.
Buy at check-in
Airlines are striving to generate revenue from business and first class upgrades. That’s good news if you’re looking to try and upgrade with cash. Many airlines offer you the option to purchase an upgrade at check-in, often at a much lower price than what you would originally pay. This is particularly likely on empty legs, so aim for off-season and weekend flights when there are fewer business travelers.
Bid for a better place
Several airlines, including Aer Lingus, Icelandair, Airberlin, Air New Zealand, KLM, Lufthansa and Etihad, offer passengers the opportunity to bid for a seat upgrade. Some airlines conduct the auction directly, while others use a website called Plusgrade. Most airlines will email you when your flight has open bids, although not all flights are eligible. The bid is added to the fare and there is usually a minimum bid. Don’t worry, your card will only be charged if your bid is selected. The bid amount is usually one-half to one-third the cost of buying the upgrade outright—definitely a bargain.
Improve your frequent flyer status
Sometimes when flights are full, gate agents need to upgrade passengers from Economy to Business to free up seats for additional passengers. Most often, they opt for airline frequent flyers. “Airlines these days have become stricter about upgrade opportunities and favor members in their own programs who are frequent flyers,” says Bell. Stick with one airline and fly with them as much as possible, Bell advises, to get those frequent flyer status stats.
Voluntarily give up your seat and switch to another flight
If you can afford to delay your trip by even a few hours, consider offering your seat on an overbooked flight and requesting an upgrade to the alternative flight. Sometimes Gate agents are desperate for a volunteer willing to sweeten the deal for you. You can go home with an upgraded ticket for a different flight and a voucher for future travel with the airline. Just make sure you research the alternative flight and know exactly what kind of compensation the airline offers before committing.
If your airline experience is a complete failure, the customer service representative may be entitled to offer an upgrade as compensation for the inconvenience, especially if you have a strong enough horror story. Just remember to be polite when making your complaint.
accommodations
Call the hotel when making a reservation
Avoid booking your hotel through travel sites or the hotel website as much as possible. Call the hotel and tell the concierge over the phone what the occasion is and how excited you are to celebrate your recent wedding at the hotel! The concierge will make a note and, you never know, you might just get perks because of it. Flowers, chocolates, champagne, complimentary dinner or a room upgrade are just a few of the options!
Use social media
If you take pictures of your honeymoon, make sure you tag the hotel on social media (and use the hotel’s hashtags!). You could catch the attention of the hotel’s social media manager and receive a sweet treat to make your stay special. So hit the gram, tag the hotel and share pics of your amazing #honeymoongoals vacation!
Choose hotels with rewards programs
Some wedding venues offer complimentary hotel stays as part of the wedding package. If you don’t want to spend extra on your honeymoon accommodations and love your wedding reception anyway, ask about hotel packages that include free nights when you book before your wedding.
Just ask seriously
If you show up at the hotel all excited to share your good news, just politely ask if there’s an opportunity for a room upgrade to make your honeymoon extra special. The hotel concierge looks forward to making your stay as special as possible. A serious request could get you a suite with a view!
The hotel’s concierge is a treasure trove of knowledge, from great restaurants to must-try activities. Befriend the concierge for help booking hard-to-get reservations, tips, and maybe even discounts when possible.
meals
Reserve dinner at the hotel
The more activities you book at the hotel, the more chances you have of getting an upgrade. Always book through the concierge and ask if they have anything special to make your celebration even sweeter. If the concierge sees that you’re spending heavily at the hotel, chances are you’ll get special treatment. You might even end up with a gorgeous private table on the beach!
Specify the occasion when making the reservation
As with your accommodations, it’s best to call the restaurant when making dinner reservations rather than going online. Mention that you are celebrating your honeymoon and the restaurant can arrange a special romantic table just for you, arrange a special menu or give you complimentary glasses of champagne to toast your honeymoon!
Mention your honeymoon again when you get there
Whether it’s the concierge or your server, make sure you drop the H-word. You could also ask directly, “Are there any special treats for honeymooners?” Of course, a sincere request goes a long way. Even if it’s not protocol, a friendly waiter or concierge can just send you a free dessert plate.
activities
Book activities in advance
Call as often as possible and mention your honeymoon over the phone when making the reservation. This applies to activities at the hotel as well as other travel activities such as tours and other experiences. If you’re on a tour, mention that you’re honeymooning, or if you’re booking a couples massage at the hotel, be sure to let the concierge and front desk at the spa know you’re celebrating your honeymoon! This gives people enough time to prepare a potential treat or involve you in planning tours.
Make a honeymoon registration
List some honeymoon activities as part of your wedding list to spend less on your travels. “What I’ve seen lately is that registration gives guests the ability to pay for honeymoon activities, and essentially it’s just cash to use for the big trip!” says Glocke. You can either list the amounts you need for each activity (flight, lodging, etc.) so people can donate, or add links so guests can book parts of their honeymoon themselves.
Flaunt your newlywed status
As a general tip, you can just ask directly if any companies can offer anything special for honeymooners. They might have a special package, better seating, or ask management if they can accommodate a treat just for you. If you are polite and humble, companies will be happy to help you.
How can I make my hotel room romantic for her?
- Candles. I have yet to meet a single woman who does not love candles. …
- Music. Make your hotel room more personalized and cozy by putting on some music you both enjoy. …
- Scent. …
- Take advantage of the hotel room robes. …
- Order room service. …
- Flower petals. …
- Choose a room with a view. …
- Hiking.
Is it possible to request the hotel a birthday…
1. Candles
I haven’t met a single woman who doesn’t love candles. You can choose between small tea lights, go for gold with large scented candles or go for a flameless candle. Either way, I guarantee she will love whatever you choose. Candles give off a great mood light that can change the atmosphere of a hotel room very quickly.
2. Music
Make your hotel room more personal and cozy by playing music you both like. Invest in travel-size speakers and create a playlist of music that means something special to both of you. A little effort goes a long way.
3. Fragrance
If you haven’t decided on a scented candle, spray a little perfume on a lightbulb. It will subtly fill the room with a pleasant scent, but be careful not to choose anything too smelly; You don’t want your room to smell like a perfumery.
4. Take advantage of the hotel room’s robes
Slipping into comfortable robes is one way to increase relaxation. They’re cozy and warm and you don’t have to worry about looking fancy.
5. Order room service
Make her feel special by ordering room service and having dinner together in your hotel room. Restaurants are great, but sometimes ordering room service is a more personal and intimate style for dinner. You can talk about anything you want while enjoying delicious room service meals and sipping wine or champagne.
6. Petals
This idea might seem overblown because it’s so popular in movies, but the truth is that not enough people take advantage of the romantic gesture of the petals. They are a super quick and inexpensive way to make any room look and feel more romantic.
7. Choose a room with a view
Try to choose a room with a view of something you like. Natural or city lights can both be used to create a romantic ambiance and provide some privacy.
8. Check the alarm clock
Something you might not think about: Check the clock to see if the guest in front of you set an alarm. Spending the night is nice, but it can be quickly ruined by a blaring 5am alarm clock.
Under the romance outside the hotel room
Foreign cities – especially small, intimate cities – can be a romantic backdrop for Valentine’s Day. Here in Canada, most rural areas are surrounded by scenic lakes, forested areas, and other unique landscapes. While you can reserve a table at a fine dining restaurant or book tickets to the theater, being immersed in nature can be a wonderful bonding experience with your significant other.
Hike
Nature can be an extremely romantic setting. The green or snowy trees, the chirping of birds and the crisp fresh air can be a great place to spend Valentine’s Day. If you are somewhere that is not very cold and snowy, bring a blanket and some snacks and enjoy a small picnic.
ruin exploration
In or around every small town there is an abandoned barn or building. If you’re the adventurous type, this can be an excellent date idea. Ask around to see which places are popular. Of course, never enter a building that doesn’t look safe. It’s always fun to explore ghost towns, but see what’s around the small town you’re in.
Ride
Nothing beats the exhilaration and power that comes from riding a big animal. Most small towns have a ranch nearby that offers horseback riding. Impress whoever you’re spending the day with or just go it alone – the horse won’t judge you.
Arts and Culture
When the weather is bad, museums, galleries and other indoor arts and culture institutions can be romantic settings. Surrounding yourself with history and art unlocks emotional states that you don’t normally engage in with your partner. It’s also a way to fill the day with added beauty and awe.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day on a different day
Valentine’s Day can sometimes be a nightmare for reservations — one reason many couples celebrate the holiday a few days before or after. This can also save some money.
Many people make a big deal out of the date itself, but does the day of the week it falls really matter? Romance doesn’t just happen once a year – couples should take time out on a regular basis to nurture their relationships and experience new things together.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?
Hotels, whether budget or upscale, usually love to decorate your room for a birthday or other event. I’m a fan of decorated rooms so I do it for my friends and hotels are always willing to accommodate, especially resorts. Any Sandals Resort hotel will set up your room the moment they know what your vacation is about, without you even requesting it.
I spent my honeymoon at the Grand Palladium and the flower petals were all over the bed, towels folded like kissing swans, a message of welcome for us and of course an aphrodisiac. You can also make special requests at reception or in the restaurants, on D-Day for your birthday or any other special occasion.
How do you surprise a guest who is staying alone in a hotel?
You can notify the hotel in advance so they can prepare the room for that person and provide any special treats you may have ordered for that person.
If you do not wish to decorate the room but would like a special room service, serenade or balloon and gift delivered to your door, a member of staff will do this at no extra charge.
Do hotels give birthday discounts?

Are you being serenaded at a hotel for your birthday?
Yes! Not all, but many do. They do it in the restaurant but if someone makes a special request they can have it done in your room.
I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t appreciate being serenaded on their birthday or anniversary, even if it’s embarrassing.
After the serenade, you are sometimes given a drink of your choice, and the serenade is always served with a complimentary dessert. You can even have a lit candle with the dessert.

Is it possible to request the hotel a birthday…
Hello,
Sorry for my late reply.
I think that’s possible. All you have to do is call before making your reservation to give this information to the staff (that you want a specific room – you can say you want a room with a great view as it’s a special day and you want to be sure you get the room you want and a birthday surprise).
I hope my answer will help you.
Happy birthday in advance!
