That might come as a shock, but diamonds don’t necessarily last forever. When a shift occurs in the integral component of a diamond’s unique shape, known as the crystal lattice, it transforms into the structure of graphite. Although it is a complex, energy-intensive process, a diamond can go from a precious gem to an ordinary matter in a school pencil!

The care taken in storing crystals ensures that we protect our precious jewels from property-altering processes that can alter their potency and ability to heal.

How to store crystals and stones

When storing our crystals we don’t have to hide them, but we should keep in mind that stones and crystals are sensitive to various environmental conditions such as sunlight or humidity.

Here are some of the best ways to keep our precious healing stones safe…

Display them on an altar

For the crystals that thrive in the light, create an altar for the stones to rest on when not being used for healing purposes. Altars for crystals should be kept simple and uncluttered as they can absorb the energies of other objects around them.

Installing a hanging wall shelf or solely using a crystal bookshelf can ensure these healers have an energetic presence in the room while ensuring they are respected and left undisturbed by observers.

Store them in cloth bags

If you’re looking for ways to store crystals and stones that are particularly fragile, use cloth bags. Cloth encasing the edges of natural and tumbled stones gives them a soft sanctuary to recharge and rest.

Bags made of natural fibers – such as cotton or linen – are particularly good for the stones. Synthetic fabrics are not suggested as they have undergone manufacturing processes that transmit energies unsuitable for these natural beauties.

Put them in a box

Dedicating a special box to crystals and stones shows how sacred these healing remedies are to us. Boxes of myriad shapes and colors can evoke different energies in different people and can be a way to bring creativity into our holistic practices.

Antique stores often have beautiful old boxes. Just make sure you sense any remaining energies or spirits in the box and cleanse it before placing crystals in it.

Organize them with drawer dividers

Assigning a drawer in an altar table or dresser puts healing crystals in an easily accessible location. By dividing the drawer into compartments, crystals can be better organized, allowing us to quickly find the right stone when trying to balance or activate a specific energy.

Drawer dividers are easy to find at office supply stores or you can make your own using craft supplies.

Different ways to organize your crystals

Here are some systematic categories for storing crystals and stones:

By color

By chakra

By shape

By shape – natural, pointed or tumbled

Final Thoughts

As we pay close attention to storing crystals and stones, we ensure that their healing energy is carried through this lifetime and perhaps even into realms beyond.

Would you like to present a beautiful stone collection with all your stones, minerals and precious stones?

Today I wanted to share a ton of resources and ideas to help you showcase those beautiful stones, gems, and minerals in your collection!

How to choose the right Rock Collection storage solution for you

There’s definitely no one-size-fits-all answer to the million-dollar question: What’s the best way to present rocks?

The best way to display stones obviously depends on what type of stones you want to display – and of course where you want to put the display.

Setting up an exhibit at a rock and minerals fair will be MUCH different than setting up a place for them in your home. So let’s start by asking some good questions so you know what to look for first!

First: how heavy/big are the rocks?

Large, heavier rocks and minerals can cause wooden shelving to bend or bend over time if they cannot support the weight. Some stones are very heavy!

If you have very large rocks, or even a small batch of rocks weighing a ton, this is an imperative to consider for any type of display you might put up.

Unfortunately, most of today’s chipboard furniture is NOT up to the task of supporting much heavy weight. Even if you have high quality shelving, over time the weight can cause the shelving to warp and bend.

Most pieces of furniture come with weight limits and ratings, so when shopping for shelving or cabinetry for your rocks, think carefully about whether they can support the weight!

This is also an important consideration when hanging items or attaching items to the walls. ALWAYS use hooks and hangers that will support the weight you need to hang.

All hooks/hardware must also be mounted into the studs of the walls. Don’t rely on anything screwed into drywall or plaster to support the weight of a shadow box of rocks.

Second, do you need to easily transport and move the bricks?

Another thing to think about is whether you need to be able to easily move and transport your stone collection.

If you frequently move from different cities or regularly attend gem and mineral fairs, you want to be sure that your displays are portable.

Geodes for sale at a local trade fair – a nice display that doesn’t necessarily require any special arrangements other than a sturdy table!

If you’re going to be happily home for a long, long time, perhaps a built-in shelf or curio cabinet makes more sense to give the stones their own place in the home.

Third, are your stones fragile or valuable?

Another important thing to consider when choosing how to display your stone collection is whether your stones are fragile or valuable.

Humans are curious by nature, so if you don’t want people to move or touch your stones, it’s probably a good idea to invest in some sort of clear case in which stones can be seen, but cannot be touched.

On the other end of the spectrum, if you love picking up the rocks and looking at them, and they’re not particularly fragile or valuable, why not make them easily accessible?

Keep them in bowls or jars where they can be perused anytime just for fun!

Clear spice jars are filled with various rocks, shells and other natural objects found on the beach.

Now that we’ve talked about some important considerations, let’s look at some of my favorite ways of storing and displaying stones in my own collection!

12 ways to display rocks and minerals in your collection

1. Stone collection boxes

Rock collection boxes are a great option when you want to keep your rocks and minerals neatly organized. They come in a variety of styles and sizes to choose from.

This also makes them easy to transport – perfect if you’re going to a gems and minerals show or meeting your local stonemasonry club!

While they offer some very limited options specifically for bricks, you can also find some interesting things if you look into other types of storage solutions.

For example, a bamboo tea organizer box is meant for tea, but the beauty of natural bamboo would make it a lovely way to display some of the smaller stones in your collection.

2. Organize bowls for minerals and stones

Another option is to look in different subjects to view them. You can find many divider tray options at almost any store that sells accessories for storage and organization.

This vintage style letter tray is a great display tray for various rocks and minerals!

Pictured above is an old typesetter’s mailbox – once used to hold various letters of the alphabet for printers. Today it houses a beautiful exhibition of various rocks and minerals.

These trays are usually flat, but you can find ones with a variety of different configurations, making it easy to find the size you want.

3. DIY portable display and storage

These are very simple cardboard stone boxes and a great example of a very simple way to organize and neatly display stones on a display counter!

Above is a great example of a seller being very clever in displaying and organizing stones, using cardboard boxes nested within larger boxes to sort them by type and price.

Trays and boxes like the ones already mentioned are also a great idea if you are a vendor of any kind – whether you are selling at local fairs and festivals or other events.

If you’re a rock and mineral trader, you definitely want a system that helps you keep track of things like prices and types of minerals in your collection.

4. Museum Quality Display Cases

In addition to trays and boxes with compartments, there are also many different ideas for stone display cases.

While the above cases are the sort of things you might expect to find in a jewelry store or museum, there are all sorts of options that can be used at home.

Cases are best for stones you wish to protect, otherwise the cost of the case could exceed the value of the stone itself.

Display cases are used by collectors of all kinds for all sorts of things.

Advantages of rock showcases:

Minimizes dust and exposure to air, moisture and sunlight

Prevents humans from touching fragile mineral specimens

Allows for easy organization of your inventory

Acrylic showcases for collector stones

When my eldest had a soccer ball signed by all of his favorite players on the team, we bought an acrylic display case for it so his little sisters wouldn’t destroy it.

These cases are also a great choice for stone collectors, especially if you have large pieces.

Some cubic cases only have 4 or 5 sides. This is useful when you know the item is quite heavy or large and the case could break if sealed inside.

5. Hanging showcases and frames

Hanging wall display cases and shadow box frames with doors are another great option to explore if you’re looking for a beautiful way to display your collection on the wall.

They are available in all sorts of sizes and configurations. Whether you have a small or large collection, you’re sure to find something that suits you.

If you don’t have exceptionally large or heavy rocks and minerals in your collection that might be too heavy for the walls, these hanging shadow boxes can be a great way to give them a special place in your home.

6. Display your minerals on shelves

Shelves are also another very good option to look for ways to display and display your stone collection at home.

This triangular shelf can be installed against a wall and is a beautiful decorative way to display large crystals and gemstones.

These solutions are usually best for someone who doesn’t need to have their collection portable. Installing shelves is easy enough, but you definitely don’t want to be lugging around furniture.

If one of your other favorite forms of treasure hunting is shopping at estate sales or thrift stores, you can usually find bookshelves very cheaply.

If you use floating shelves for rocks, make sure they can take the weight and are securely anchored to the studs on your walls.

7. Bespoke shelving and storage solutions

Above: A custom-built shelf displays a large collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils.

Built-in shelves like the ones you see above are obviously a nice custom option, but you don’t necessarily have to go to that kind of extreme. Any type of bookshelf or cabinet will work well!

8. Free-standing curio cabinets

Curio cabinets are another great way to display any type of collectible—whether it’s rocks or salt shakers or your favorite childhood toys.

Usually curio cabinets are more traditional in terms of design so I was really excited to see some sleek and contemporary designs that are on the market now.

The beauty of cabinets like these is that they often have a door that can protect your collection from dust and people picking up and touching items.

9. Decorate with stones, crystals, gems and minerals

A simple round of birch wood can make a beautiful natural base to hold polished stones in your stone collection.

Decorating with stones is always a fun idea and super easy to make. If, like me, you collect “what I like,” you’ll end up with many stones that may not necessarily be rare or valuable, but certainly make great decorative accents around the home.

Smaller stones can be thoughtfully arranged just about anywhere—on a windowsill, along the edge of a chair rail, or on a mantel. I love the idea above where simple wooden rounds are used as the base.

Larger rocks and minerals can become eye-catching pieces on a coffee table or even next to the TV on a media cabinet.

10. Make your own jewelry

I’m sure there are many people who would agree that one of the best ways to regularly display the gemstones in your collection is to wear them as jewelry.

Most stone carving shops are able to create one-of-a-kind pieces using almost any type of stone.

You can also learn how to make simple wire wrap jewelry to create all kinds of rings, necklaces, bracelets and more. All you need is some basic jewelry wire and a basic jewelry making kit that comes with all the tools and materials you need to get started.

This YouTube video below shows a great example of how you can use polished stones to make your own wire wrapped jewelry quickly and easily at home.

11. Stones in jars and vases

Vases and jugs are a super easy and common way to display various stones throughout the home. You can put rocks and rocks in a vase and place them on a table, nightstand, window sill, bookshelf, or even a mantel.

Mason Jars are super easy to find and very inexpensive. You can buy them at almost any store near the canning supplies store, or of course, you can always order them online if you’re looking for a specific size or style.

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve bought wide-mouth, quartz-sized mason jars for all sorts of other things besides just canning. The wide opening is definitely important if you want to get things out easily!

Below is another example of a beautiful collection of agates in a mason jar. This is a great way to watch your collection slowly grow over time.

The beauty of these glasses is that you can sort your collection in any way that makes sense to you!

Check out this example of stones arranged by color in different jars. This would be a great way to organize and sort your collection of polished rocks this way – you could make a whole rainbow!

I love the idea of sorting different stones by color.

12. Pretty bowls, bowls and plates

These stones are more appetizing than a dish full of candy!

Similar to the trays we’ve shared previously, bowls, bowls, and plates can also be used to display various rocks, minerals, and crystals throughout the home.

These can be a great thing to have on your coffee table, end tables, or even the dining table.

If your stones are meant to be held and admired, it can be a lot of fun for visiting adults and older children to keep them within reach like this.

One caveat, of course, is making sure kids and adults alike know that rocks aren’t candy, or try to eat them or put them in your mouth.

Yes, we know these stones are on a plate: do not eat!

If you have very young toddlers, you definitely want to make sure they are old enough to get through the “everything I see goes in my mouth” stage of development.

There are so many beautiful ways to display and display your rocks, minerals and gemstones – I hope this post inspires you to organize and enjoy your rock collection to the fullest!

What is a crystal obelisk?

An obelisk is a tapering four-sided shaft of stone, having a pyramidal apex representing a captured solar ray or a cosmic mountain. The pointed pillar of the obelisk symbolizes the journey of the spirit from the vibrations of the material “earthly” world to the subtle energies of the etheric field.

Crystal forms and their meaning

There are so many different shapes of crystals, each with their own meaning! We are all aware of the variety of forms crystals and stones have and while they are all beautiful and aesthetic in their own way, there is so much more to each form in terms of its meaning, energy output and use. I am going to tell you about the majority of all shapes on the market in hopes that you will understand them better and can help you decide which shape is best for you and your needs. I personally go through different phases of being attracted to – sometimes I just want to buy towers and other times I just buy palm stones, it all depends on what you need at the moment. After reading this, I suggest tuning in to your intuition to see what draws you in when trying to decide which shape to choose.

Points:

Points have a very concentrated and directional energy output, flowing upwards and outwards while affecting the area around them as well as any other nearby crystals. Dots are great for reinforcement, keeping you sharp and on-point. It’s your best friend when you need to stay super focused! So keep a crystal point in your office, on your desk or just at school or work when you have a busy day and need to stay on track. Place whatever intentions you need into your crystal point and watch those intentions manifest throughout your day. You can also write a mantra, affirmation, or wish on a piece of paper, fold the piece of paper into a point, and place it on your crystal point. This acts like a pyramid, directing all the energy from the intention on the paper up into the cosmos and radiating out into the surroundings. You could also do a room feng sui, an example of this would be placing a tower in each corner of a room to create a vortex of energy.

Pyramids:

Pyramids connect energy from the crown to the root chakra and convey intent to the universe. They are known to help manifest, clear blockages and focus energy. The pyramid shape is a tetrahedron in sacred geometry and its primary function is to assist in manifestation. The cool thing about this shape is the high-contrast yet harmonious release of energy that works within the shape. The solid structural base, similar to a cube, has a very grounded and stabilized energy while still allowing energy to flow straight out of the tip. You can also use pyramids for your home according to feng shui. It is useful to set a specific intention that correlates with the type of crystal or stone you have. For example, a lepidolite pyramid in your bedroom for restful sleep. Or maybe a rose quartz pyramid in your bathroom or bedroom for self-love, a fluorite pyramid on your desk, or shungite or green aventurine near a TV for EMF protection. Holding a pyramid allows the life energy to come into the top of the pyramid and then ground into it and stabilize you.

balls:

Spheres emit energy from all directions, creating a very balanced and gentle flow of energy in the atmosphere around them. They give us a general sense of stability, harmony and unity as their energy is very balancing. A crystal ball also represents the circle of life and brings in life energy and wholeness. The energy of a sphere has a childlike innocence and brings a whimsical, playful element to our lives. Spheres are useful in meditation, connect with life energy and bring harmony. They are also good for cleaning other crystals. Use a carnelian, clear quartz, or selenite sphere to clean your other crystals. You can also program your orb with a specific intent to release energy wherever it is placed. Massage therapy is also a very popular use of crystal balls, with their smooth, rounded shape and the metaphysical properties of the stone they are made of, the perfect device to release energy trapped in the body.

Egg:

Crystal Eggs radiate a very feminine energy and support transformation and balance. Eggs have the ability to release unconscious energy, they help us to perceive energy imbalances or suppressed emotions and support us to heal them. Eggs emit energy similar to bullets, their energy flowing in all directions with a stronger focus upwards. The Egg is a song of fertility and life, it also aids in personal transformation, new beginnings and creating the best version of yourself. Program your Crystal Egg to help you on a new journey, no matter what Moving you to a new place, starting a new job, beginning a personal transformation, breaking a bad habit, or forming new good habits. Make sure you set your intention of what you want to support before using it for manifestation and specific intentions.

Wands:

Wands are used for healing rituals; They allow energy to flow and be directed. Wands can be helpful in removing negative energy while bringing in healing energy. It absorbs and converts this negative energy into the type of energy that the crystal it is made of radiates the most. So if it were a citrine wand it would transform any negative energy into prosperous and prosperous energy or if it were an amethyst wand it would bring in a very calming and peaceful energy. My favorite types of crystals for this are those that can transmute negative energy, like Kyanite, Citrine, Black Tourmaline, or Carnelian. Not only are you able to let go of what no longer serves you, but you are being revitalized back into your being with purified and refreshed energy. They are also a great tool to charge your other crystals with healing energy and depending on what type of crystal they are made of; Wands can bring any type of energy or intent into these crystals. This shape represents a connecting bridge between two points of energy, causing the crystal to emit or absorb energy at both ends simultaneously and conduct it in two directions at the same time.

Palm Stones & Worry Stones:

Palm stones allow for a balanced transfer of energy from stone to skin, they are known to relieve stress, calm nerves and are perfect for holding during meditation. They provide a stable energy point to hold on to in times of stress while relaxing or meditating to bring in the energy output of the stone that composes it. Another way to absorb and transform the energy of a palm stone is to sleep with them. I would suggest that you get yourself an amethyst palm stone if you keep it by your bed or next to your pillow to help you sleep. Known to help with insomnia, Amethyst will help you get a deeper and more peaceful sleep. Worry stones or thumb stones are smaller and sometimes have a slight indentation on one side of the stone where your thumb would stay. Their convenient size makes them ideal for keeping in your pocket or in your bag when you’re on the go. Many people, including myself, use these worry stones as a means of fidgeting and are great for relieving stress and anxiety. I have a family friend who I never knew believed in crystals who has a small fluorite worry stone. He is an elderly gentleman who is a worker and die-hard cowboy from southern Arizona. I judged the book by its cover and didn’t think he believed in my crystal energy stuff, but it was such a pleasant surprise to see his face light up as he told me how he thumbed over his worry stone rubbed when he was feeling stressed or anxious and he was so proud to tell me he felt better each time! After that, I decided that I would always carry a small worry stone with me to calm my anxiety. Worry Stones are great for anyone who has social anxiety, likes to fidget, or thinks too much. Simply focus on your worry stone, feel the stone warming to your body temperature as you hold it, and watch your stress melt away as you put your focus and energy on your stone.

hearts:

Hearts have a soft, loving emanation of energy. They send love through space and time and help heal the heart chakra. They resemble palm stones, only in the shape of a heart. They connect to the energy of the heart chakra and release their energy in a loving, gentle way while bringing us a sense of peace and harmony. Some of the best heart shaped stones are rose quartz, rhodonite, smoky quartz and ruby zoisite. Each of these stones are known to radiate energies of self love and positive energy. Programming your crystal heart with specific intentions is the best way to receive the kind of loving energy you need. You know your needs better than anyone else, meditate with your crystal heart and get acquainted with its energy. Once you connect to it, you can program it with whatever intentions you see fit.

tumbled stones:

Tumbled stones emit a very gentle flow of energy, this is the most common cut and there is certainly a reason for it; it is practical! Tumbled stones are easy to take anywhere, in your wallet, your purse, your pocket. Don’t be fooled by the size of these stones. Their practicality is actually what makes them so powerful! Carrying one or more of these crystals with you at all times allows you to connect with their energy throughout the day. Having them so close, and maybe even touching you directly, can remind you of your intention. Think of them as reminders or alarms on your phone. Every time you remember that they are with you, you also remember and connect with their energies. My favorite tumbled stones that I always carry with me are emerald for new possibilities, carnelian for courage and confidence, shungite for EMF protection, fluorite for mental clarity and chrome diopside for connecting with nature. Everyone is different and needs different energies in their daily lives, so do some research on what type of tumbled stones work best for you and give it a try! At Rare Earth Gallery we have an extremely large selection of tumbled stones in store and online, don’t hesitate to come in store and check out our great gallery and pick up some of your favorite crystal types while you’re here.

Obelisk:

An obelisk is a tapered four-sided stone shaft with a pyramidal apex representing a captured ray of sunshine or a cosmic mountain. The pointed pillar of the obelisk symbolizes the spirit’s journey from the vibrations of the material “earthly” world to the subtle energies of the etheric field. It has been said that “the pillars of the obelisk support the heavens, the highest aspiration of mankind”. The vertical structure and shape of the tower suggest the hierarchies between higher and lower, power and powerlessness. Do you feel out of touch living in selfish isolation? Do you live in an ivory tower cut off from others? Is the tower your strength and protective fortress? Or does the tower create emotional distance and a sense of discrimination towards others? The tower encourages you to open yourself up to other perspectives with a far-sighted perspective; perhaps one of patience and perseverance in the solitude that sometimes feels like imprisonment, a reminder that we are all just ‘taking time’. The tower supports the inward movement with introspective and creative reflection, allowing reflection and study while patiently awaiting new visions. Obelisks and towers are instruments of Divine timing – they mark sacred space and time. A real obelisk consists of a single piece of stone. Ancient monolithic obelisks originated in Egypt and can be found all over the world. They are believed to act as a vessel to help release and disperse built up energy from the earth. Some believe that crystals form there themselves. Since many crystals naturally grow in obelisk form, it is believed that built up energies within the earth are released as crystals. The same effect is believed to occur with smaller crystal obelisks placed in a room. When the room the obelisk is placed in has built up energy, the obelisk helps release/distribute and transmute that energy depending on what type of crystal the obelisk was made from. In order to own and use an Obelisk, one must first purify it, then set an intention, and then find a suitable place to place it. Selenite is a great way to purify new crystals. Once you have a piece of selenite, wave it over and around your new crystal or place or touch the crystal on it. You can also clean crystals by leaving them in the moonlight overnight (in a safe, clean area) or in the sunlight for a few hours. There are several other ways to cleanse your crystals.

Dice:

Cubic crystals are great for balancing and grounding. Many crystals are in a cubic formation, the cube shape is associated with the root chakra. Meditating with cubic crystals helps to ground your energy and reconnect you with the powerful energy of the earth. By placing cubic formations in each of the four corners of a room, you seal, protect and ground the energy of your room. It is said that when you place a cube in the corner of a room, it protects that room and radiates the energy and intentions contained within. Natural cubic pyrite and an ocean jasper cube are two of my favorite crystal cubes. Pyrite is great for penetrating negative vibes, clearing EMF smog, or simply stopping those toxic thought patterns from running through your head. While Ocean Jasper is known to help with grounding and balancing while aiding in letting go and learning through experience.

clusters:

Crystal clusters have points of all different shapes and sizes, typically ending in different directions. Each cluster is special and unique in its own way, no two clusters are alike. All of the different points on a crystal cluster vibrate harmoniously together with a concentrated and directed energy. The larger the crystal cluster, the more space its purifying energies cover. So if you have a larger space where you want the cluster to be, go for larger clusters. A cluster is great for adding unity to a space. Place a cluster crystal on your family dining table, living room table, or other common areas in the house. It’s also great for conference rooms in an office or places where people gather. It helps create a space of open dialogue and community. Program your crystal cluster with the best intentions of loving energy, clear communication, positive energy, and organized thoughts and actions. Clusters are particularly powerful with their energy yield. The dots in a cluster resonate harmoniously to bring positive energy and transmute negativity into whatever space they are in. They can also help us feel more energetic mentally and physically, and help us make decisions.

Geodes:

Unlike clusters, geodes have all connections on the inside. They are typically rounded and show no signs of crystals on the outside unless broken in half. Sometimes geodes are cut at the base so they can be displayed standing. Each small point within a geode emits its own energy making the interior of the geode very powerful and perfect for charging or cleaning tumbled stones or small crystals. The geode comes with many different mineral crystals such as quartz, amethyst and citrine. They can help you see the bigger picture and help make a decision before things get out of hand. It helps one shape one’s future and bridges communication with the Supreme Deity. Geodes also help in communication between people located in the same healing areas. They can help with astral projection and are good tools for meditation, especially the amethyst geodes. These stones can be good for calming down, reducing stress and helping with spirituality and psychism.

What does the crystal selenite do?

Selenite is said to be a powerful healing crystal that promotes peace and calm, mental clarity, and well-being. It’s also believed by some that this crystal can remove negative energy and help you connect to higher realms. There’s no evidence to support the metaphysical or healing properties of crystals.

7 Ways to Display Crystals in Your Home

Share on Pinterest Obradovic/Getty Images In many traditions throughout the ages, selenite has been said to have powerful healing properties. Some consider Selenite to be one of the most important crystals in an energy worker’s tool kit. Not only is selenite believed to carry powerful energies that can provide protection and enhance well-being, it is also said to cleanse unwanted energies from your surroundings.

Metaphysical and Healing Properties of Selenite Selenite is a crystallized form of gypsum, most commonly found in the form of a translucent, multi-faceted stone. It is formed when sulfate and calcium-rich salt water evaporates and has a hardness of 2 on the Mohs scale. Many people believe that selenite is a powerful healer with multiple benefits, although there is no scientific evidence to support it. However, there is evidence that selenium — the trace element form of selenite — has several health benefits. A trace element is a chemical element that is found in very small amounts in living things. Here are some of the main supposed healing benefits of a selenite crystal: Promotes peace and tranquility

provides clarity

clears blocked energy

raises the spirit

helps you access your intuition

is an effective room cleaner

vibrates at a very high frequency

promotes team spirit and camaraderie

increases the power of manifestation Promotes peace and tranquility “Selenite is a crystal that vibrates at a very subtle vibrational level,” says crystal healer Samantha Jayne. Because of this high frequency, “it is one of the most powerful crystals in the universe.” Jayne says that selenite carries an energy of peace and tranquility. This makes it an ideal crystal for any situation where peace needs to be restored. Clears blocked energy Crystal healer Charlotte Grace agrees. “Selenite vibrates at a super-high frequency, which means it’s a very powerful healer,” she says. Grace also notes that selenite is effective in clearing heavy, blocked energy. This allows high vibrational energy to flow, she says, uplifting the spirit. Grace recommends using selenite to purify: your energy

Your House

Her things

Other Crystals Provides Clarity Some people believe that selenite can promote mental clarity and open the door to your intuition. Jayne agrees. “From a healing perspective, it has the ability to still the mind, bring peace to the soul, and bring clarity to those who need it,” she says. Increases Positive Energy It is also believed that selenite can increase positive energy. “Selenite can be used to charge you, your space, and your crystals,” says Grace. It is important to note that these reported benefits of selenite are based on anecdotal evidence only.

Origins and lore Selenite is associated with Greek mythology, with a history stretching back centuries. Its name comes from the Greek word for “moonstone” and is associated with Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon. However, selenite is not related to the crystal known as moonstone. Selenite “carries the imprint of everything that’s happened in this world,” explains Jayne. “It is also thought to have been used to keep evil spirits out of sick rooms…Priests would crush it into a paste to paint on the doors of a house when someone was sick.”

Other Names for Selenite Selenite is known by a number of other names including: Satinspar

desert rose

plaster flower

Butterfly elenite or golden phantom (a yellow colored variety)

disodium selenite

Types of Selenite Selenite can be found in many variations and colors. And each is believed to have subtle differences in their properties and uses. Shapes Hourglass: Used for grounding and sensitization, helping to release negative patterns

Grace keeps a staff of selenite by the front door to cleanse energy when she comes in. She also suggests using selenite to amplify the energy of other crystals. “Selenite towers amplify energy. So if you put a selenite tower near other crystals, you can expect a huge boost,” she says. Colors White is the most common color of selenite, but it can be found in shades of gold, peach, and pink. Some are marked with unique names. White: Used for clarification, purification and communication with higher realms

Selenite Purification and Charge Purification is an important step in working with crystal energy. Grace finds that all crystals absorb negative energy. Some believe selenite doesn’t need to be purified, but Grace disagrees. Even selenite, despite its high vibration, needs purification, she says. How to clean your selenite: Use an incense stick and run the crystal through the smoke.

Place your crystal in a bowl of dry salt.

Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl or bell.

Place your crystal in sunlight for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Put it in the moonlight overnight. After cleaning, it’s time to recharge your crystal. You can use a crystal charging plate or place your crystal under the sun or moonlight to absorb additional energy. “Once your crystal is cleansed, charging your crystals will give them energy to perform at their best,” explains Grace.

Activating Selenite The final step is to activate your selenite. Grace suggests the following steps: Hold your selenite in your hand and imagine a white light surrounding it. Breathe in and out deeply. Repeat an affirmation out loud or in your head about what you wish to manifest. Then use your selenite as desired. Possible affirmations are “I am connected” or “My energy is high and moving freely,” Grace adds.

How to Use Selenite There are many ways to use selenite including: Meditating while holding it

wear it

Place it over the chakras

Use to Cleanse Other Crystals “In my work as an angelic healer and entity cleanser, I use selenite as a protective layer in my healing practice,” says Jayne. “I have placed [selenite] on my shrines in my healing clinic and in my home as they bring peace to the home.” Grace uses a bowl of selenite each night to charge her crystal jewelry. “It can also be used around your home to renew energy and remove toxic buildup,” she says.

Selenite and the Chakras Chakras are believed to be energy centers in your body that are related to psycho-emotional functions. Some believe that crystals can affect these energy centers and clear blockages. Grace notes that selenite is associated with the crown chakra, which has to do with: higher consciousness

manifestation

creative energy Jayne discovers that selenite can help create connections with the spirit world and what she calls the angelic realms. It promotes placement at the third eye, the crown chakra and the soul star chakra, which is said to be a chakra located outside of the body. Jayne also suggests using selenite to calm anxiety. To do this, she sometimes places it on the solar plexus. “It brings a calming energy and slows down the chakra when it gets out of control,” she says. While selenite use may be a supportive complementary practice for some, it is not a substitute for an anxiety treatment. Talk to a doctor if you have persistent anxiety that is affecting your quality of life.

Ethical Sourcing Whatever you decide to use selenite – or any other crystal – it’s important that you do your research and buy from an ethical source. Jayne recommends independent sellers to avoid counterfeiting. She also suggests letting your intuition guide you. “Always be intuitively attracted to the seller and the crystal. Let your soul guide you to the crystal it needs right now,” she says. Grace recommends tracing your crystal back to its source. Look for a sustainable and ethical code of conduct posted on the company’s storefront or website. “When in doubt, ask,” she says.

It can also help attract wealth while removing attachments to material goods.

Application in Feng Shui

Citrine is a great crystal to use to improve the flow of feng shui in your home. Here are some of our favorite ways to use citrine for good feng shui.

Activate Tai Qi, the area of health

Citrine’s warm, earthy color makes it a great addition to the Tai Qi area of your home. Tai Qi is the focal point of your home and represents health and well-being. It is related to the earth element and associated with colors like orange, brown and yellow. Being in the center, the Tai Qi also touches all areas of your home, meaning changes in that area of your home are likely to affect the rest of your life as well. To increase energy in your home and promote well-being and vitality, try placing a piece of citrine in the Tai Qi area.

Activate Xun, the Wealth Corner

Due to citrine’s association with prosperity and abundance, it has a natural connection to Xun, or the area of the feng shui bagua card associated with abundance and wealth. You can find your home’s wealth corner by standing at the front door and looking inside. The far left corner is your wealth area. If you wish to welcome more financial abundance into your life, add a piece of citrine to this area of your home. Xun is also associated with self worth, so you can place citrine here with the intention of increasing your own confidence and trust in yourself.

invite earth energy

The earth element represents stability, grounding and nourishment. You may need more earth energy in your life if you are feeling ungrounded or anxious. In general, stones from the earth represent earth energy and citrine in particular has a strong connection to this element. If you wish to invite more earth element qualities into your life, working with or wearing citrine in your home can really support that.

Activate your wallet

If you slip a small piece of citrine in your wallet, you can harness this stone’s connection to abundance. Citrine encourages generosity and the acquisition and preservation of wealth. Sharing wealth and preserving wealth seem to cancel each other out, but they actually go hand in hand. The richer you feel, the more likely you are to share what you have. As you feel more wealthy, you will also increase your ability to keep wealth for yourself.

Welcome prosperity to your workspace

Because citrine helps attract abundance, it is a great stone to have in your workspace. Whether you work from home or from an office, you may want to place a piece of citrine on your desk or elsewhere in your workspace to invite more prosperity and positivity into your work life.

Apply Citrine to your body

Finding a piece of citrine to wear or carry with you is a beautiful way to keep this stone’s bright and sunny energy with you throughout the day. Pick an item you love and set an intention on how you want it to support you – you’ll be reminded of that intention every time you wear it.

Can crystals be kept together?

First, Can Crystals Be Stored Together? The short answer is yes.

7 Ways to Display Crystals in Your Home

As the saga of your growing crystal collection continues, figuring out the Storage chapter can seem tricky. In a perfect world, we could all flaunt our crystals. Nosing around the house, wrapped around our wrists, in the car and at work. There really is a healing crystal for every occasion! But when you have more crystals than you can use, you need to find a storage solution that works for your crystal family. Today we share tips on best maintenance practices and ideas on where to store your crystals.

First, can crystals be stored together?

The short answer is yes. But do you know how some crystals make great pairings? How their energies intertwine like the fate of two lovers? The same principle applies to storing the stones when they are not visible. Their energies can be affected, which is why we generally recommend storing crystals in a natural substance that promotes their vitality.

If your collection is small, you don’t need to weigh yourself down with specific storage options. If your collection has grown quite large, here are some storage options:

By Color: This often means that your crystals will also be stored through energy when crystals of the same feathers flock together. Red, pink, white – color code them all!

From Crystal Family: SIMPLE – Keep all your quartz, selenite, amethyst in their own box/compartment/bag and so on.

By Intent: This will depend a lot on you, but separating crystals according to their best energy use can help you know where to go if you’re looking for the crystal in the moment.

By Shape and Fineness: Separating by crystal type is much more important than intent or color. This is because some crystals are more delicate than others. If you are unsure about the durability of each stone, you can check using the Mohs hardness scale.

Sometimes you can tell by the appearance of the crystal. For example, opal, selenite and hematite look quite delicate and are very brittle. So you should make sure that you wrap each of these crystals individually in a soft cloth or tissue paper before setting them aside.

Not all hard stones are stable. Diamonds, for example, are the hardest stones of all, but they can still break easily. So add this consideration to your saving process.

Putting the softer gems and polished crystals in pouches where they can be rocked and moved is a recipe for chips and scratches — especially if you’re placing them alongside raw stones. In addition to affecting the appearance of the crystal, chips can also change the flow of energy or a crystal. So pay attention to which crystals go with which and what level of protection they are kept in!

Storage boxes for healing crystals

Yes, your handy storage boxes are the best option for storing your crystals! The truth is, your gems don’t need a crystal-specific solution to be kept safe until you’re ready to touch them. Whether you are traveling and need to group them, or like to have them organized and tucked away, regular storage boxes are your top choice.

However, there are some basic ground rules for storing crystals and stones in boxes. The best idea is not to use plastic for storage as it is not a breathable material for the crystals to release their energy.

Many people dislike storing their natural stones with a material that is not natural. This feeling dates back to ancient times and continues to this day. So if you only have plastic containers – like those meant for storing beads or craft items – try to either wrap your crystals before you put them in, or line the container with natural fabric to protect their energies.

Try silk, suede, or whatever natural fabric you have on hand. The color of the fabric can also play a role in the energy conservation of your crystal. Black is usually the color of choice as it absorbs all colors of the spectrum. White is a strong runner-up as it is known to contain all wavelengths of visible light.

Wooden Bowls: These natural storage options lend themselves to the earthy feel of crystals. Depending on your crystal storage needs, simply choose a wooden bowl large enough to hold your chosen gemstones.

Drawstring Bags: Try organza bags, velvet bags, or make your own from your favorite fabric. This is a great solution for storing tumbled stones or small gems that should be protected from sunlight.

Where to store your crystals

Some people like to put their crystal-filled jewelry boxes in the bedroom when the intentions are aligned. Others have a dedicated craft area of their home for bulkier storage units. Where you store your excess crystals is entirely up to you!

Keep in mind that some crystals will lose their luster and vitality if left in direct sunlight for too long. If you’re looking to keep a handful of divine geodes in your favorite wooden bowl near a window, it’s a good idea to check that they’re sunlight-safe.

Here is a short list of popular crystals that should not be stored in sunlight:

amethyst

citrine

Howlite

sapphire

fluorite

rose quartz

smoky quartz

carnelian

celestite

You should also consider the electronics in the house. For example, Black Tourmaline is a powerful protector against negative energies emanating from electronics. So while you’re considering keeping extra black tourmaline crystals around the office, you should also make sure you don’t keep any glowing magnet stones like hematite anywhere near those electronics.

Last but not least, think of water. While you certainly envision yourself keeping your crystal collection in wooden bowls and large drawers for safekeeping, some people enjoy spicing up their garden with their surplus stones. If you plan to store crystals outdoors or near a place that may get wet when it rains, such as a windowsill, make sure you only use crystals that can withstand the rain. Some crystals are known to deteriorate from water damage and lose their vibrant appearance.

Keep crystals close to your heart

We know that crystals begin to overflow after we begin to feel their gentle, positive effects on our mood and well-being. Listen, we’re obsessed with crystals too! Ultimately, there is no right or wrong system for storing your crystals. Play around with organizers, storage units, decorative items and more to find a system that works for you. Just remember to check in with the crystal family who has been in a crate for some time. They will want to hear from you!

Clear quartz is one of the strongest crystals in the mineral kingdom. Also called a master healer, you can combine clear quartz with amethyst for protection. Amethyst is a very protective stone, and clear quartz can enhance this effect.

Another great benefit of this crystal combination is that both amethyst and clear quartz absorb negative energies. They are especially useful together to balance the physical, mental and emotional levels.

Another fantastic crystal that you can combine with amethyst is citrine. In fact, citrine and amethyst occur together naturally in the form of ametrine.

This is where amethyst comes into play. With its gentle vibes, amethyst encourages you to shift your thought patterns and focus on what really matters.

How do I organize my crystals?

Inside A Drawer

If you have a large crystal collection, try Ethan’s method of storing them inside a drawer. He uses small gift boxes to organize the crystals into groups or categories. You can also use drawer compartments like these, which I use in almost every drawer of my own house.

7 Ways to Display Crystals in Your Home

Store and organize crystals and gems so only the best energy stays in your collection.

Setting goals with crystals and gems? We’ve believed them to have healing properties for centuries, and unless you embrace chakras (aka these abilities) there’s no harm in some shiny and quirky home decor. But how do you store your crystals to keep them accessible and in pristine condition?

I went from skeptic to collector quickly, but I’m still struggling to find the best way to store crystals. I can’t always show them off either. These 5 fellow bloggers shared their tips for storing and organizing crystals.

My Favorite Crystal Organization Hacks

1. In a drawer

If you have a large crystal collection, try Ethan’s method of storing them in a drawer. He uses small gift boxes to organize the crystals into groups or categories. You can also use drawer compartments like this, which I use in almost every drawer in my own home.

2. Tiered makeup organizer

Need a portable way to store your crystals? One of my favorite crystal educators, Hibiscus Moon, shared a method from one of her healers, Lexi, that I absolutely love. Lexi used a collapsible makeup box to keep her crystals safe, organized, and dust-free. Each category has a separate compartment to prevent scratches and chips.

3. Rainbow Pill Boxes

Love taking your crystals with you on trips but never know how to pack them safely? Jenn from Finding Magick has come up with an awesome travel hack that I can’t wait to try next time I’m packing my suitcase for a trip. Jenn makes sure her crystals are easy to find in her case and are individually wrapped to avoid accidental rubbing with this colorful stacking case set.

4. Custom crystal shelf

If you’ve worked hard for your collection, treat yourself to some cash and give it a dream home. That’s what Ashley from In My Sacred Space did. Your double triangular wall shelf protects large stones while being pleasing to the (third) eye. I found a similar shelf here with a third triangle for liquid medicines like essential oils.

5. DIY shared container

Without question, the most popular method of storing and organizing crystals that I’ve found is the humble craft box. But in true Lela fashion, I don’t pay $100 for something I can get for $2. I made my version of the divided craft box with felt to protect soft crystals. All I did was cut pieces of felt to fit each compartment and attach them with double sided tape. If you can find a storage box that allows you to remove and rearrange the dividers, even better.

7 Ways to Display Crystals in Your Home

Use our simple step-by-step guide to learn how to use a crystal grid to channel good energy into your home, focus your intentions, and support your manifestations.

How to Make a Crystal Lattice: A Step-by-Step Guide Become a Crystal Lattice Expert Lattices are wonderful tools to improve your crystal game! How to use a crystal grid to channel good energy into your home, focus your intentions, and support your manifestations. What is a crystal lattice? A crystal grid is a deliberate placement of crystals within a geometric pattern placed to support a specific intention. How do crystal lattices work? Combining multiple crystals increases their power as they work together synergistically. When you set an intention, the individual power of each crystal combines with the collective power of the other crystals in a laser-focused, highly charged beam of energy for your prayer. The sacred geometric pattern helps channel this energy more effectively. Sacred geometry uses patterns found everywhere in nature – and which have been reproduced in human art, architecture and design over the centuries. Presumably the use of these sacred patterns along with the crystals potentiates the energy of either alone. Okay, but how do you actually make a crystal lattice? They can actually be quite complicated, but we’re going to simplify it for you! How to Create a Crystal Lattice: A Step-by-Step Guide

This step-by-step guide will give you a good idea of how to create a beautiful crystal trellis in your own home. While these are the basic steps you’ll want to follow, each step doesn’t necessarily have to be done in this order. For example, you could place your crystals under the moon for a good cleanse and spend the evening developing an intention and grid shape to implement the next day. How exactly you proceed is up to you. Personalize the process and fit it into your life. 1. Smudge yourself and your room First things first, you should start with a clean room. You can literally tidy up and clean the area you use for your trellis. But you will also want to pollute your whole house to rid it of any dense or negative energies. This will create a purified environment so your charged crystals can infuse the purified space with the intention of your choice. 2. Set an Intent Your intention is the direction in which your grid will direct its energies. An intention is a prayer or a wish. It can be something you want to manifest, such as B. a new job or a new home. Or an intention can simply be a trait that you want to attract more of into your life. Examples of shared intentions include: Courage, Healing, Abundance, Clarity, Peace, Love, and Joy. Choose an intention that is strong in your heart. You may want to write down your intention to further focus and activate it within you. The written intent can be incorporated into your grid. 3. Choose a grid shape Endless grid options are available. If you state your intention in advance, you can choose a grid that suits your desires. For example, a circular grid helps with protection, while a square grid can help with boundaries. A grid that uses a multiple of 3 is great for manifestation, while a grid that uses a multiple of 4 can help with clarity and orientation. Some common trellis shapes include the vesica piscis, which can be used to bring balance or to attract love. The seed of life can be used to attract abundance. A simple web search leads to endless grid options. The easiest way to create a grid is to use a layout printed on paper or fabric. You can simply place the stones on the printed grid. However, you can also use a grid as a visual aid to place your crystals without printing. 4. Choose Your Crystals As with choosing a grid, the crystals you choose should ideally be chosen to support your intent. Rose quartz is a classic for attracting and strengthening love, while citrine helps build confidence and self-esteem. When creating a grid, each crystal plays a different role and you should keep that in mind. Choosing your focus stone is especially important as this is the stone that will focus all the energies of the other stones and shoot out the intention into the universe. 5. Clean your crystals

7 Ways to Display Crystals in Your Home

Crystals have always been associated with the mystical or supernatural; some even believe they have healing powers. With all the wonder associated with them, when you receive a crystal or buy pieces for yourself you may think that they need to be displayed in a special way.

Maybe your soothing amethysts would look great in a small bowl? Or does the deep brown of this large aragonite-sputnik cluster dominate its own space? Or would a soothing blue quartz be the perfect contrast piece for your coffee table when kept in a tall, thin vase?

How you present crystal is really a matter of personal preference. There is no “wrong” way to do it. A lot depends on the overall look you are going for in your home, as well as the size and color of your stones. Here are seven display ideas to help you.

Pedestal for large pieces

If you have a large piece of crystal, say six inches in diameter or larger, consider placing it on a pedestal and giving it some attention. Of course you want to be sure you have the space in your house to do this. For example, this black laminate base can help a clear, bright, or even a deep glowing purple or pink crystal stand out. If the crystal is rare, valuable, or you just want to protect it, opt for a pedestal with a closed cover on top.

hang them up

Small crystal prisms can be found on necklaces and other jewelry. But they can also be seen hanging in houses. Some people hang them near windows to enjoy how they cast light rainbows around the room. You only need an inexpensive fishing line to hang crystal prisms.

However, there is a tricky part. Most prisms come pre-drilled with holes, but you can learn how to drill through a gemstone yourself if you wish. If you believe in the healing, calming, or energy-altering power of certain crystals, hanging is the way to go.

showcases

This approach applies to larger crystals. The displays associated with sports memorabilia – balls, cards and the like – can also be used to highlight a large bright crystal. Check out these display cases with a hardwood floor and this display case with a mirrored floor.

Try the display box on shelves with other items of different sizes. You’ll want to make sure the shelves are big enough to hold the box so the crystal display doesn’t look too bulky. You can place it in the center and have smaller rocks or plants on either side of it to rejuvenate the overall look from large items in the middle to small items at the ends of the shelf.

standing displays

If you have a collection of different sized crystals, display them in a lighted stand-up display case with a mirrored back. Crystals look great with a mirror behind or below to allow for a 360 degree view of the stone without having to walk around the display.

Peel

If you have a bag or a handful of small crystals, keep them in a bowl to show off their color. You want the shell to be a color that lets the color of the crystal shine. The bronze of the bowl in this photo contrasts well with the white crystals next to it, but a more brilliant turquoise or purple stone color could work as well.

With everyday objects

Crystals provide a beautiful contrast to a range of everyday objects. People put bright ones on a stack of books or, as in the photo, on a deck of cards.

Look for everyday objects that can serve as bases for your smaller crystals, especially if your home aesthetic is casual or rustic. Sometimes all it takes is simply placing the stone on a coaster, on a jewelry box or in a jar with a lid!

With natural things

Crystals also live harmoniously with other pieces of nature. A shell, a distinctive stone, a piece of wood, even the candle you see in this photo—all of these can add to the crystal’s mystique and allure. With crystals, you don’t always have to have an eye-catching presentation. Sometimes they can just shine under other natural pieces or blend in as needed.

Conclusion

There really is no limit to the way you can display crystals in your home. Start by finding the place in your home where the crystal piece will resonate the most. You can also consider how lighting affects the appearance of the crystal and the potential for reflections in the room. No matter which crystal resonates with you, there is sure to be a place for it in your home.
