Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

So you live with your partner, welcome to the club.

There are many reasons for that. Firstly, you love each other (hopefully) and secondly, it also saves a lot of money on rent. Use the money you save to upgrade your shared space and use the following for ultimate inspiration.

Speaking from experience here, it CAN be done.

Plants upgrade cheap furniture

Besides providing some much-needed oxygen (more on that later), adding plants will instantly make your space cooler. Varieties like Swiss Cheese and Snake Plant work well, and you can order houseplants online. These Ikea cabinets above are great value and look amazing with a few plants and trinkets to decorate with.

Try a monochrome palette

Going all black and white is an easy way to make your room look amazing without spending a lot of money. White sheets with a mix of pillows (H&M Home has good ones) and a throw like this is a recipe for success. The original Swiss Cross blanket is from Story North, £145, but Etsy sellers have bucked the trend with this £49.85 version.

Or pick a color and run with it

Or if you don’t like the monochrome, choosing colors like this will make life easier. The colors of this Urban Outfitters rug are perfect for a shared room, and it’s easy to find cushions/decor to mix and match. If you’re both the stubborn type, choose a color for each.

Welcome to having your own stuff

Find a place to store your own jewelry. A good nightstand situation like this is perfect for just keeping out the little bits you care about, the rest can disappear in a box. This ledge could be built easily if you have some DIY skills and bonus storage could be added in the lost space.

Show off possessions that you both like

Perfect for hanging over the bed, these ledges will hold those little postcards from that trip to the Tate, a favorite magazine or book you’re reading, and a few photos. Mix it up so you have reminders of your relationship alongside personal items. Sorry I’m a sloppy fuck.

Double dressers

You’ll be amazed at the sheer volume of socks and plain t-shirts boys can hoard. To avoid the hassle over storage, buy two of these MALM chests. They cost under £50 and sit flush next to each other, giving them plenty of room for your clothes, and they look darn good too.

No bed = better sex

Avoid the inevitable squeaks by dropping the bed frame and opting for a mattress on the floor. You’ll be amazed at how this can improve things in the bedroom, and we’re not just saying how cute it looks.

Invest in candles

boys smell. It’s a fact. Get a beautiful scented candle like these homemade ones that are available in amazing scents from the Spitalfields Candle Co. Guarantees the mood and eliminates the whiff.

Get a large laundry bin

Boys always seem to have SO MUCH laundry. Not sure if it’s the sweatiness, the crowd, or the recklessness, but it’s true. Get an industrial size laundry bag and this will help keep Mount Washmore in check.

Share it

Not exactly the most exciting of tips to finish, but you’ll thank us later. Keep a drawer or shelf in the closet and use these tessellated boxes – one for tampons, one as a med box, one for common items like sunscreen and of course one as an overflow for your makeup and fake tan.

Singletons – that’s what you’re missing. Don’t rush into anything too soon.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

Our bedrooms are the epicenter of our romantic relationships. Certain aspects can make or break the romantic mood in a room. But what is the psychology behind romance and why do we crave romantic love?

The first phase of falling in love is lust. The kind of attraction that makes our legs weak, our heart beat, and our appetite suppressed. Chemicals like testosterone, serotonin, and dopamine flood our brains, leaving us energized and excited. Dopamine has a particular impact on the senses – making us flush a little more with excitement, increasing sexual desire and elevating our spirits. Just the thought of that special person makes us happier. It’s pleasurable and addictive in its own way—no wonder we crave those feelings.

The release of serotonin gives us a rosy look at our lover and we often feel like we have a closer or more special connection than any other couple. It is this “love blindness” that makes us want to stay together and move on to the next phase of love, bonding.

During the bonding phase, we release oxytocin, a powerful chemical known as the “cuddle hormone.” Oxytocin deepens the sense of connection and, when mutual, leads to the intoxicating state we all long for – falling in love.

What makes a romantic bedroom?

1. Let’s start with your bed.

It has to look as inviting as possible. Big, plump pillows and crisp, freshly laundered sheets, all beautifully made, are key to making your bed look pleasing. Try bold colors like a black headboard to add a sense of drama. Think of a 5 star hotel!

2. It is also important to get rid of any clutter.

You want to make your bed the main feature and clutter will just be distracting. If you tend to use your bedroom as a cloakroom, now is the time for some serious decluttering.

3. Romantic lighting in your bedroom can make all the difference.

Make sure your overhead light is off – it can be both unflattering and just too bright. Use either softly glowing bedside lamps or clusters of tea lights in pretty secure holders to set the right mood. If they are lightly scented, all the better. White is a much more romantic color than red for lighting, which has been shown to cause stress rather than pleasure.

4. Romance and desire are strongly linked to your sense of smell.

As well as scented tea lights, you can use a pillow spray, scented plug-in or just a spritz of your usual aftershave or perfume on the pillows and around your bed. Don’t overdo it with too many different smells, just one or two, especially if you’re familiar, will trigger the craving.

5. Try sprinkling some rose petals on your bed.

They don’t have to be real – you can buy artificial flower petals or use flower-shaped confetti. If your bedroom is upstairs, sprinkle a few of the petals up the stairs and across the landing toward your bedroom. It will indicate both romance and intention.

6. Keep the mood and ambiance focused on intimacy and passion.

Put ironing boards, clothes dryers and other annoying devices out of sight. Also put away children’s toys.

You may not feel the need to play music, but if there’s a special song you share or music that brings back fond memories for both of you, play it fairly quietly. For obvious reasons, this works better with smooth, mellow music than heavy rock!

7. Be prepared

Much of the art of creating a romantic and sexy bedroom is in the pipeline. Consider covering or removing your TV from the bedroom or placing a faux fur or velvet throw over the bed. An inviting bottle of champagne in an ice bucket, perhaps with a few ripe strawberries or cherries in a bowl, will also boost the sensual mood.

Remember to use all your senses to create a romantic atmosphere in your bedroom. While it’s easy to arouse desire with sensual aromas, music and lights, don’t forget that touch is also an important factor in making your Valentine’s night even more special. Wear something soft and sensual like silk or satin, and perhaps have a feather or silk scarf on hand to tease your partner and get them in the mood for passionate intimacy.

What’s your romantic gesture this Valentine’s Day? Let us know in the comments!

How to decorate a hotel room for your partner

You are in the right place if you are planning to give your partner a romantic surprise. Even the most ordinary hotel room can be turned into a romantic getaway. There are so many ways to turn an ordinary space into something extraordinary.

When the original bedding wears out, all you have to do is replace it with a new duvet cover, satin pillowcases and sheets. Champagne Lodge has years of experience designing romantic getaways. Here are some tips on how to turn an average hotel room into a romantic hotel room decor.

The lights

Finding a romantic or flattering light is difficult in most hotels. So if you really want your hotel room decoration to be romantic, make sure it is decorated with candles. Place as many candles as possible in your hotel room on flat surfaces such as shelves, bedside tables, dressers and so on. Be sure to keep any flammable materials you have, such as curtains and fabric, away from open flames.

Flowers are a must.

Floral arrangements are a must when planning an intimate hotel room. A romantic getaway wouldn’t be complete without flowers. With this in mind, floral decor is an absolute necessity to romantically decorate a hotel room. You can further enhance the mood and atmosphere by adding some flowers to the perfect combination of romantic bedding and lights.

Using artificial or real rose petals is the most common type of floral decoration. When you spread your rose petals in your hotel room, you transform it into the most luxurious romantic suite. Put flower petals on windowsills, tables, bathroom countertops, floors – wherever there is an open space, you need to cover it with flower petals. You can make the bed more festive by shaping it into a heart shape. If you want to make the path from the door to the bed festive, you can create a path there as well. If you want a very special decoration, you can decorate the canopy tent with room decoration with some rose petals and candles.

Add scents for more romance

Find a romantic scent to transform an average hotel room into a romantic paradise, as hotel rooms don’t necessarily have the best scents. Add some mysticism to the whole experience with scented candles and incense sticks.

1. Arrange a treasure hunt for him

Surprises don’t always have to cost a lot of money. It’s the thought and effort that counts. Doing something exclusively for him will make him super happy. Organize a paper treasure hunt for your friend with clues to follow. What he finds as a prize could be anything. His favorite chocolate, a new perfume he requested, or you! Use your imagination and creativity to sweep him off his feet.

2. Change their alarm to something personal

That’s a super cute idea. Change their alert from rough tringgggg to a specially recorded message from you. It can be super romantic or naughty. You can also just change it to something fun and sassy. If you don’t have the opportunity to record a personal message, just set a funny song as an alarm sound that will always make him laugh. He’ll have a smile on his face for the rest of the day! You could also set your picture as wallpaper – making funny faces on it.

3. Write small notes on the mirror

Sneak into the washroom while he’s showering and write “I love you” or “You’re hot” on the fogged up mirror. You can also do this on his car windows. This is a quick and sweet way to tell him how much you adore him. Alternatively, you can use ketchup to write something on his food, but this can be difficult to pull off unless you’re artistically inclined.

4. Cleans up his apartment

If you don’t live together and he’s a little messy, surprise him by cleaning up his apartment. Some guys like to be messy and get angry when someone touches their stuff, but if you think your guy would appreciate a helping hand, this surprise could be a great way to melt his heart. You could do his laundry, clean his kitchen, organize his bookshelves, or change his sheets.

5. Buy him tickets to his favorite event

Is he a fan of a music band? Is there a sporting event he was obsessed with? Or he just can’t get enough of stand-up comedy? Find out what his thing is and surprise him by buying him tickets to the ‘something’ he’s a fan of. Even Coachella, girls. If he wants to leave, buy his tickets and say goodbye to him. Even better, go with him and have a gala time!

6. Put a note in his lunch box

Did he pack his lunch to take to the office? Be sneaky and put a love letter in his lunch box. He will find this during his lunch break and fall in love with you all over again! You could write a love poem, a goofy message, a cheeky joke, or just “I love you.” Whatever you do, it will give him that warm, sticky feeling that you get when you feel super loved and happy.

7. Give him a professional massage

Set up a surprise massage for him. A romantic massage with flowers and candles will surely relieve him and help him relax after a hard day’s work. Turn off the lights, light the scented candles, stock up on essential oils, luxurious towels and so on and give him the treatment he deserves! You can watch YouTube videos to learn how to give effective massages that will soothe his muscles and help him relax.

8. Plan a surprise date night

You don’t have to wait for a birthday or anniversary to have a romantic evening with your baby! Plan something on a random day and surprise him. Even better – pick him up from work, drop him off in the car and go to your favorite pub or disco and dance the night away. If you’re both the quiet type, head to the beach with a bottle of wine and sandwiches. Just have a good time together and talk to each other.

9. Book a hotel room

It’s not what you think! Book a room for both of you so you can have quality time together. You can cuddle, watch movies, take a dip in the hotel pool – aah, bliss! Don’t forget to take advantage of the luxury of room service. Feel pampered and pampered all around – you both deserve it.

10. Cook his favorite food

That’s great because love goes through the stomach. Call his mother or sibling, find out what his favorite dish is and cook it. You can also search for recipes online. If nothing, you can make him a cake from scratch – it’s the easiest thing to do! Set it up in beautiful ceramic dinnerware and have a romantic dinner together. He will adore you when he sees how much effort you put into it.

11. Throw him a six month birthday party

He’ll never see this coming! Invite his friends over, do the whole balloon and cake thing and sing the birthday song. Giving speeches, toasting him, making birthday greetings. Worry about him and make him feel adored. He’ll act embarrassed – but he’ll be blown away. Everyone wants that special attention sometimes. And yes, don’t forget your birthday present!

12. Sign him up for a class he’s always wanted to do

Has he always wanted to learn to paint, play the guitar, join a motorcycle club, take a cooking class or become a carpenter but just didn’t have the desire or energy to sign up? Take the initiative and sign him up for something you know he will love but is too lazy or shy to do alone. You could even do it with him! Not only will you learn a new skill, but you’ll spend some quality time with your friend doing something he likes.

13. Running an errand he avoided

Does he hate doing his shopping? Is he ignoring his electric bill? Forgot to get the air conditioner repaired? Avoids making an appointment at the dentist? People sometimes develop great anxiety even when doing normal things and avoid it at all costs. Do it for him – he will love you for it. It’s the little things that take up the most space in our hearts. He will feel valued and loved and will be surprised by this beautiful gesture.

14. Fill up his car with fuel

Your man will fall head over heels for you! This small act of love will save him a lot of time and headaches. He’ll be delighted because girls don’t generally think about these things, and they’re really handy ways to show your partner how much you care about them. Here’s a bonus idea – if you have the time, you can wash it too, maybe even let it grow. You won’t regret it, and the look on his face when he sees the car will be priceless!

15. Set up a movie night with projectors and speakers

Did you miss a movie that you both really wanted to see? Set up the projector and speakers right at home, get cozy with pillows and the like, and get some popcorn. And get the film experience right at home. Dim the lights and cuddle. Additional benefits!

16. Plan a surprise trip for him

Does he like hiking? Biking around town is his thing? Does he like going to the museum? Surprise him by planning a day trip and accompany him to do things he likes. Not only will you get to know him better, but you will also have a great time together.

17. Get a gift for his pet

This is a sweet surprise! As you already know, this isn’t his pet, this is his baby. If you get this little munchkin anything, you’ll win his father’s heart too. Who knows, maybe you’ll be his mom soon? Just buy something cute for his pet and see how both the pet and the owner drive you crazy.

18. Plan a game night for him and his friends

Invite his friends over, get some pizza and beer and turn on the TV. Let him have his boys night while you spend a night at your girlfriend’s. He will be pleasantly surprised by your thoughtfulness and lack of clinginess. Trust me, smothering someone with your love is not the way to go. Show him how well you understand his needs.

19. Iron his work clothes and have them ready

He will be blown away by this one! When he finds out that he doesn’t have to iron his clothes anymore when he’s late for the office—which he usually is—he’ll love you a little bit more.

20. Play naughty games

There are card games available online that are definitely not for kids – if you get my meaning! Get a package and host a game night where you would play a lot more than charades. Let him see that wild side of you – and reap some perks along the way.

21. Put his coins in a bag

If your guy’s like most guys out there, chances are he’s got quite a few coins scattered around. Collect all the coins and put them in a bag for him. Or just exchange them for bills and put that in his wallet with a note. You could write something like, “This is for that Mc D burger you love so much” or “Get those cycling gloves you’ve been wanting for a long time.” It’s a kind gesture that wins his heart and helps him a lot will also be.

These little surprises will not only brighten his day, but show him how much you care about his needs. The good news is that keeping the passion burning is as easy as they say – it’s all about the little things.

A thoughtful gesture is a stronger representation of love than mere words. It can make your boyfriend feel the love and care you have for him. Something as simple as filling up their car, cooking their favorite meal, or buying tickets to their favorite event can all be great surprise ideas for your friend. You don’t have to spend a bomb or go overboard with a grand gesture to express your love and appreciation for your partner. So choose ideas from the list above or think of something your friend will enjoy and surprise him with.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

“It’s so easy to find a large, affordable apartment,” no one said. Finding a space that suits you is difficult and you may feel that your home is not as big as you would like. This can be especially the case if you are sharing with someone else, e.g. B. with a romantic partner. When you share a small space with a partner, you may have the combination of roommate issues and relationship issues to contend with (and scariest of all — the thought of someone else eating your peanut butter). This can be tricky, so I’ve put together some tips to make it easier for you.

I learned how to share when I was in kindergarten, but nobody warned me about “Sharing Stage 2: My friend uses my toothpaste.” Sharing an apartment with a significant other is a whole new ball game, and you’re not alone if you find it difficult (nor are you alone in your house, which can be part of the problem). Even if you have a wonderful relationship with your partner and love being with them, you may encounter difficulties when sharing a small space and that doesn’t mean your relationship is in trouble in any way. It just means you could benefit from setting boundaries in your home, which I can help you with.

Read on for nine tips for setting boundaries in a small space.

01 Be clear about the distribution of food You may or may not share food. Both are perfectly normal, it may only be helpful to clarify above so your partner knows where your limits are. (And if you’re anything like me, you might share veggies because you don’t actually eat those anyway, but you always keep the Halo Top to yourself.)

02 Make Quiet Time Together Getty Images/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images I love the scene in Sex and the City where Carrie lives with Aiden but says she takes an hour without talking alone in her apartment, herself when they are both there. Carrie is a true hero and leads by example – you can request quiet time in your shared space, even if your partner is hanging out there.

03 Manage Tasks It can be helpful to find out who will do which tasks. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to cleanliness. So if you and your partner don’t mind having a messy room, amazing! Either way, it can help to be open about who’s responsible for what, so you don’t feel like you’ve cleaned out more than your fair share.

04 Have your own drawers If your home has the space for them, get your own shelving or dresser. This way you have your own drawers to put things in, which might feel like you’re not sharing every part of the space (unless you want to, in which case please continue!) .

05 Plan different evenings at Shutterstock I like to have one evening a week when I’m all alone and don’t talk to anyone. I don’t always get it right, but I try. I sometimes try to schedule that night so that my roommate is going out, and you and your partner can do the same if you want some alone time. If you want full access to the TV without commenting on what you’re watching, consider scheduling your nights when you know your partner is out with their friends.

06 Stick to your own sleep schedule If you and your partner share a bed, make sure that you still go to bed at the desired time. Just because your partner is awake and wants to hang doesn’t mean you have to stay up – sleep is critical to functioning, and you deserve the best possible night’s sleep.

07 Discuss the decor It’s your common space and it should reflect your aesthetic. Talk to your partner about what they like and make sure the decor and furniture suit both of your desires.

08 Be respectful of friends who visit Shutterstock It’s great when you and your partner want to have friends over, and you definitely should (if you enjoy hosting). However, it might also be considerate to let your partner know when friends are coming over and expect the same from them. It’s not always fun to be surprised in your underwear, so be open about who’s visiting your shared space and when.

How many rose petals do I need for hotel room?

Goldstein continues that you probably need at least 24 roses (most varieties have between 20 to 40 petals, so be prepared to buy extras if they seem lacking in that department) to make it seem like you actually put some effort into this gesture.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

A few months ago, Travis Scott did Kylie Jenner a favor by filling her entire mansion with all the red roses in the world. The gesture was so incredibly lavish that Cosmopolitan reported, “Travis Scott is basically the most romantic person ever.”

It goes without saying that a normal person — with a regular paycheck — can’t expect to realistically surprise their lover with a similar Amazon-sized rose display on Valentine’s Day. That doesn’t mean you can’t be the most romantic person of all time, though: with a little advice from floral designer David Goldstein, owner of Beverly Hills Florist, you too can put together a rose display that will challenge your partner’s sanity (but at a nice type).

But first, let’s talk about how roses became the standard romantic flower in the first place. “Rose horticulture began about 5,000 years ago, probably in China,” according to the University of Illinois. Thousands of years later, during the Roman Empire, aristocrats fell madly in love with them, and they would reportedly saturate their bedrooms with rose petals before sex to create a soft, fragrant bed. According to Roses in the Middle Ages, the Romans may have even loved roses a little too much:

“Not only were there fountains of rose water, and not only were the floors sometimes knee-deep in rose petals, but guests at banquets were even showered with rose petals. At a banquet given by Nero, this shower of rose petals reached such proportions that some of the noble guests suffocated under the mass of flowers.”

All of this means that when it comes to romantic gestures involving roses, Travis Scott still needs to work on his game.

Finally, during the Victorian era, roses really took on the romantic symbolism we associate with them today. “Expressing emotions in public was considered a social taboo, so the Victorians expressed their intimacy through flowers,” says 5-Minute History. “Touch-sensitive plants represented chastity, while the deep red rose symbolized the power of romantic love.”

So we ended up feeling like we had to shell out for the good stuff on V-Day. But how do you do that when you’re still eating top ramen with most meals? First, consider American Beauty (or maybe Coming to America) as your inspiration rather than Travis Scott, as Goldstein explains that buying roses in bulk and only decorating with the petals is a good choice if you’re on a budget to have . “You can buy the roses about 10 days before Valentine’s Day,” he says, which will help you avoid those inflated costs the day before Valentine’s Day. “The roses will open; they will start to bloom. When that happens, the petals are easier to remove and they get a lot bigger.”

Goldstein goes on to say that you’ll probably need at least 24 roses (most varieties have between 20 and 40 petals, so be prepared to buy extras if they seem to fall short in that department) to make it appear as though you would actually put some effort into that gesture. However, the far more wallet-friendly (and less time-consuming) way is to take his advice that buying rose petals in bulk is much, much cheaper. For example, you can buy 1,200 petals from Amazon Flowers for just $35; However, Goldstein also explains that you never really know how old the petals are unless you buy them in bulk, meaning you could end up with a bunch of crumpled, fragrance-free petals. So pay attention if you decide to take the cheaper route.

When it comes to choosing the right rose color, Goldstein says, red is always a good choice, but you can also opt for your lover’s favorite color. “My best friend loves yellow and her husband will buy her flowers that are all yellow,” he explains.

To make a tasteful arrangement out of those petals, Goldstein recommends avoiding sticky heart shapes or other obvious love-doves images. “Imagine your room and imagine not just having loose rose petals everywhere,” he says, adding that it’s best to use the rose petals to make some sort of Valentine’s Day card pattern on the floor that’s not elementary school is equivalent to. “When you walk into a hotel and the hotel has a carpet, those carpets usually have patterns—like a filigree pattern. I want people to create patterns.”

If that sounds like too much work — or if you’re unsure in your floral design skills — Goldstein says you can simply frame the bed with rose petals on the floor — you want enough petals to make a little bunch, or at least hide the floor around the bed. If you have enough left over, you can try creating a trail out of flower petals that leads to the bed as well. But putting them on the bed, he says, is usually a bad idea since fooling around in a bed of rose petals, as pleasant as that sounds, can get pretty messy. “The petals will stain the linens,” explains Goldstein. Should you decide that flower petals on the bed are an absolute must, he mentions that 99 Cents Only Stores sell L.A.’s Totally Awesome All Purpose Concentrated Cleaner, which can easily remove flower stains.

So… who knows? While it’s certainly a cliche, if you get it right, Cosmopolitan might even one day call you the most romantic person of all time. Or better yet, maybe that rose petal trail leads straight to a Kardashian.

Can hotel set up a Valentine’s Day?

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

One of the most popular things to do when celebrating Valentine’s Day is booking a hotel room. Hotels are a special experience that can give you time to only spend with those who are special to us. Even if a hotel doesn’t have exactly what you’re looking for, there are plenty of ways to jazz up the place on your own. Check out some tips on how to romanticize your hotel room for that special someone.

1. Light some candles

Paul Hollywood once said, “The way to every woman’s heart is through her stomach,” but the statement should be changed to her stomach and nose. There is no woman who does not love candles. The lovely scents and pretty colors all put you in a good mood.

Candles are a great way to create mood lighting that can change the scenery of the hotel room very quickly. Humans are very affected by light, and dim light tells our body it’s time to relax. When candles are lit and no other lights are burning, our mind and body enter a state of relaxation that allows us to focus on our partner and what is going on around us. The combination of dim light and scent is a sure win for a romantic night. Here are some more ways you can incorporate candles into romantic dates.

2. Play some music

Music can improve your mood tenfold. Whether you’re sad, angry, happy, or excited, music has a specific way of reproducing your feelings. Upgrade your hotel room by adding some nice speakers and playing music that both you and your partner will enjoy. Tranquil love songs and serenades are easy choices when it comes to setting the mood.

If you are looking for a guarantee that your partner will like the music you have chosen, make a date out of your choice of songs. You could both sit down and create a playlist for your evening. This will bring you closer together and increase the anticipation of your Valentine’s night.

3. Scatter petals

When you think of Valentine’s Day, think of love. When you think of love, you think of red. When you think of red you think of roses, and when you think of roses you think of rose petals. Rose petals and flower petals are essential for any romantic gesture on Valentine’s Day.

There are many different ways you can arrange the petals. You can go the classic route to bed, make a heart shape, or sprinkle a few on a filled tub. Whatever you choose, your petals will add to the romance and tranquility you seek.

4. Bring some bubbles

If you put rose petals or flower petals on a full bath, you probably want that bath to be fizzy. Packing a favorite bubble bath or soap scent can add to the amazing smells you’re already getting from your candles.

Bubble baths aren’t just romantic. They offer actual health benefits that you might as well take advantage of. Baths help you relax and relieve stress. Being in warm water can have a calming effect, lift your spirits and make you feel calm and safe. Bubble baths have other health benefits as well, but for this special night, you can just focus on the relaxation part.

5. Leave notes

Leaving notes all around (handwritten, of course) is a surefire way to put a smile on your loved one’s face. Love letters tell your partner that you appreciate them, think of them, believe in them, and love them. You can hide notes in the hotel bed, under a pillow, on the TV, on the fan, literally anywhere you think. Some can be hidden and others can be obvious. Either way, if they are found/noticed, you can both laugh and smile.

Leaving notes doesn’t have to be reserved for a special occasion or only done on holidays. You can leave notes at any time. This keeps your romance alive in everyday life. If you are looking for ideas for hidden places in your home, check out this list.

These tips aren’t the only ways you can add romance to your hotel room this Valentine’s Day, but they can give you a great place to start. While many hotels don’t offer anything special for Valentine’s Day, you can always call and ask them to help you with your setup or ideas.

If you’re looking for a relaxing night in a hotel this Valentine’s Day, book with us! Our hotel staff is super friendly and very accommodating. You can also reserve dinner before Valentine’s Day at our Forklift and Palate Restaurant on February 11th and end the evening with a relaxing stay at the hotel.

What is free in a hotel room?

What You Can Take From a Hotel Room. Anything that’s complimentary is free for you to snag. This includes the mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, coffee, packets of creamer and sugar, and other bathroom amenities.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

Most hotels want you to feel at home in your room. From complimentary pens to soaps and shampoos, they will fill it with nice things to make your stay even more enjoyable.

You might be tempted to take some of these things home with you. Certain items, such as the free shampoo, are given to you free of charge and can easily be packed in your hand luggage. Other items belong to the hotel; If you are caught stealing, you may have to pay a fine.

So before you start stuffing your suitcase with goodies, take a minute to learn what you can and can’t grab from your hotel room.

What to take away from a hotel room

Anything that’s free, you can grab for free. This includes the mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, coffee, packets of cream and sugar, and other toiletries. The slippers are thrown away after you leave, so it’s fine if you want to put them away for later use. Stationery, pens, notepaper, postcards and envelopes are also gifts for you – and because they carry their logo, hotels consider them free advertising.

What you can’t take away from a hotel room

According to the Hilton Kingston’s housekeeping department, guests often take towels, irons, hair dryers, pillows, and blankets with them. Cable boxes, clock radios, paintings, ashtrays, lightbulbs, TV remote controls – even the Bible – are also commonly stolen. However, all of these items belong to the hotel and are intended to remain in the room.

Bathrobes should also be left behind for the most part. Many hotels wash them for the next guest—but at some upscale hotels, a guest may receive a monogrammed bathrobe as a gift.

If you have any doubts about something being free (and therefore ok to pack) you can call reception to double check.

TripSavvy

Other items commonly stolen from hotels

At the Hilton Curacao, guests often take the mugs that come up to their room at breakfast so they can “finish their coffee.” In reality, these mugs are so popular that despite being available in the gift shop, they are disappearing on a daily basis.

A housekeeping manager at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers also confirmed that the white pillows and bathrobes with the distinctive “S” crest often go with the new coffeemakers. Since both the pillows and the bathrobes are hotel property, you are not allowed to take them with you.

Consequences of taking hotel property

If you take something with you from your hotel room, you should expect an extra charge on your bill. Bathrobes and towels are stolen so frequently that many hotels now write the fee directly on the hanger; You will automatically charge the credit card on file for the additional cost of replacing those items.

Robert Thrailkill, the general manager of the Conrad Miami, once said:

“A guest room should feel like a home away from home. If the guest likes something so much that they want to take it home, they are welcome to do so, but for a fee. We give guests the opportunity to shop for the items they love, with everything from 700-count linens and mattresses to Conrad Miami’s signature terry cloth and waffle robes.”

In some countries, including Nigeria, hotel guests have faced jail time for stealing items such as towels. Again, it’s best to be cautious and ask at reception if you’re unsure if something’s free — especially if you’re traveling to a foreign country and aren’t familiar with the laws.

How to turn your room into a hotel suite

If you want something to take home, many hotels have online stores, ideal for anyone dreaming of turning their bedroom oasis into a hotel suite. On these sites you can shop for all your favorite hotel items, from the fluffy towels and 700-thread-count sheets to the lamps, showerheads and beds. Whether you’re a fan of Hilton’s Serenity bed or Mariott’s canvas art and fragrance diffusers, you don’t have to leave luxury behind when you come home.

Best of all? Everything is brand new and you don’t have to worry about packing everything in your suitcase.

What do hotels usually provide?

Commonly found amenities may include: on-site food and beverage (room service and restaurants), meeting and conference services and facilities, fitness center, and business center. Upscale full-service hotels range in quality from upscale to luxury.

The forerunner of the modern hotel was the inn of medieval Europe. For around 200 years from the mid-17th century, mail coaches served as accommodation for coach travellers. Inns began catering to wealthier customers in the mid-18th century. One of the first hotels in the modern sense opened in Exeter in 1768. In the early 19th century, hotels spread throughout Western Europe and North America, and in the later part of the 19th century, luxury hotels began to spring up.

Hotel operations vary in size, function, complexity and cost. Most hotels and large hospitality companies have established industry standards for classifying hotel types. An upscale, full-service hotel property offering luxurious amenities, full-service accommodations, an on-site restaurant, and the highest levels of personal service, such as: B. a concierge, room service and staff to press clothes. Full-service hotels often contain upscale full-service facilities with many full-service accommodations, an on-site full-service restaurant, and a variety of on-site amenities. Boutique hotels are smaller, unbranded, independent hotels that often have upscale facilities. Small to medium-sized hotels offer a limited number of on-site amenities. Economy hotels are small to medium-sized hotel establishments that offer basic accommodations with little to no services. A motel is a small, low-rise accommodation with direct access to each room from the parking lot. Boutique hotels are usually hotels with a unique setting or intimate ambience. A number of hotels have entered the public consciousness through popular culture, such as the Ritz Hotel in London. Some hotels are built specifically as destinations in their own right, such as casinos and vacation resorts.

Most hotel operations are managed by a general manager who acts as general manager (often referred to as a “hotel manager”), department heads who oversee various departments within a hotel (e.g. hospitality), middle managers, administrative staff, and line-level supervisors. The org chart and number of posts and hierarchies vary by hotel size, function and class, and are often determined by hotel owners and management companies.

etymology

The word hotel derives from the French hôtel (of the same origin as hospital), which referred to a French version of a building that receives frequent visitors and provides care, rather than a place that offers accommodation. In contemporary French usage, hôtel now has the same meaning as the English term, and hôtel particulier is used for the old meaning, as is “hôtel” in some place names such as Hôtel-Dieu (in Paris), which was a hospital since the Middle Ages. The French circumflex spelling was also used in English, but is rare today. The circumflex replaces the ‘s’ of the earlier Herberg spelling, which over time has taken on a new but closely related meaning. Grammatically, hotels usually take the definite article – hence “The Astoria Hotel” or simply “The Astoria”.

story

Facilities offering hospitality to travelers of early civilizations. In Graeco-Roman culture and ancient Persia, hospitals were built at thermal baths for rest and recreation. Guinness World Records has officially recognized the Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan in Japan, founded in 705, as the oldest hotel in the world.[1] In the Middle Ages, various religious orders in monasteries and abbeys provided accommodation for travelers on the road.

The forerunner of the modern hotel was the inn of medieval Europe, possibly dating back to the rule of ancient Rome. These would provide for the needs of the travellers, including board[2] and lodging, stables and fodder for the travelers’ horses, and fresh horses for stagecoaches. Famous London examples of inns include George and the Tabard. A typical inn layout featured an inner courtyard with sleeping quarters on either side, with the kitchen and parlor in front, and the stables in back.[3]

For around 200 years from the middle of the 17th century, mail coaches served as accommodation for coach travelers (i.e. rest stops). Mail coaches lined up horse teams for stagecoaches and mail coaches, replacing tired teams with fresh teams. Traditionally they were seven miles apart, but that depended very much on the terrain.

The Boody House Hotel in Toledo, Ohio

Some English towns had as many as ten such inns, and the rivalry between them became intense, not only for the income of the stagecoach operators, but also for the income from the food and drink delivered to the wealthy passengers. By the end of the century, inns were run more professionally, with a regular schedule and set menus for dining.[4]

Inns began catering to wealthier customers in the mid-18th century and consequently grew in splendor and levels of service. Sudhir Andrews attributes “the birth of an organized hotel industry” to Europe’s chalets and small hotels, which mainly catered to aristocrats.[5] One of the first hotels in the modern sense, the Royal Clarence opened in Exeter in 1768, although it was not until the early 19th century that the idea really caught on. In 1812 Mivart’s Hotel opened its doors in London and later changed its name to Claridge’s.[6]

Hotels spread throughout Western Europe and North America in the 19th century. Luxury hotels, including the 1829 Tremont House in Boston, the 1836 Astor House in New York City, the 1889 Savoy Hotel in London, and the Ritz chain of hotels in London and Paris by the late 1890s, were catering to an increasing number of people—affluent clientele.

Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is part of a US law prohibiting discrimination based on race, religion, or national origin in public accommodation.[8] Hotels are included in the law as public accommodation.[9]

Limited-service hotels often don’t have their own restaurant, but can offer limited complimentary food and beverages in return, e.g. B. A continental breakfast service on site. Examples include Ibis Budget, Hampton Inn, Aloft, Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn, and Four Points by Sheraton.

Extended stay

Extended stay hotels are small to medium-sized hotels that offer longer-term, full-service accommodation compared to a traditional hotel. Extended-stay hotels may offer unconventional pricing methods, such as B. a weekly rate aimed at travelers who need short-term accommodation for a longer period of time. Similar to limited and select service hotels, on-site amenities are usually limited and most extended-stay hotels do not have their own restaurant. Examples include Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Residence Inn by Marriott, Element, and Extended Stay America.

Timeshare and Destination Clubs

Timeshare and Destination Clubs are a form of real estate ownership, also known as vacation ownership, which involves the purchase and ownership of a single accommodation unit for seasonal use during a specific period of time. Timeshare resorts often offer amenities similar to a full-service hotel with on-site restaurants, swimming pools, recreation areas, and other leisure-oriented amenities. Destination clubs, on the other hand, can offer more exclusive private accommodation such as private homes in a neighborhood-style setting. Examples of timeshare brands include Hilton Grand Vacations, Marriott Vacation Club International, Westgate Resorts, Disney Vacation Club, and Holiday Inn Club Vacations.

motel

A motel, short for “motor hotel,” is a small, low-rise lodging facility similar to a lower-priced, limited-service hotel, but usually with direct access to individual rooms from the parking lot. Motels were built to serve road travelers, including travelers on road trips and workers who drive for work (traveling salesmen, truck drivers, etc.). Motels, which were common in the 1950s and 1960s, were often located next to a major freeway, where they were built on cheap land on the outskirts of towns or along stretches of freeway.

Construction of new motels is rare in the 2000s as hotel chains have built low-priced, limited-service franchise properties at freeway exits that compete for largely the same clientele, largely saturating the market by the 1990s. Motels are still useful in less populated areas for driving travelers, but as an area becomes more populated, more hotels are moving in to meet the demand for accommodation. While many motels are unbranded and independent, many of the other motels that remain in operation have joined national franchises, often renaming themselves hotels, inns, or lodges. Some examples of motel chains are EconoLodge, Motel 6, Super 8 and Travelodge.

Motels in some parts of the world are more commonly viewed as romantic date spots, where rooms are often rented by the hour. This is fairly common in parts of Latin America.

Microstay

Hotels may offer rooms for micro stays,[14] a type of booking for less than 24 hours where the customer chooses the check-in time and length of stay. This allows the hotel to generate more revenue by reselling the same room multiple times a day.[15]

management

Hotel management is a globally recognized professional field and academic field of study. Degree programs such as hospitality management studies, a business degree and/or certification programs formally prepare hotel managers for industry practice.

Most hotel operations consist of a general manager who acts as general manager (often referred to as “hotel manager”), department heads who oversee various departments within a hotel, middle managers, administrative staff, and line-level supervisors. The organizational chart and number of posts and hierarchies vary by hotel size and function, and are often determined by the hotel’s owners and management companies.

Others have become famous through association with dishes or cocktails created on their premises, such as the Hotel de Paris, where the Crêpe Suzette was invented, or the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where the Singapore Sling cocktail was developed.[17]

A number of hotels have entered the public consciousness through popular culture, such as the Ritz Hotel in London through its association with Irving Berlin’s song “Puttin’ on the Ritz”. These are similar to transit hotels in that they cater to travellers, however, unlike transit hotels, they do not eliminate the need to clear customs.

How do you ask for a free hotel room?

7 Ways To Get A FREE Hotel Room Upgrade
  1. Choose a rebooking agent for automatic upgrades. …
  2. Be a loyal customer. …
  3. Ask at the desk – nicely and quietly. …
  4. Ask the concierge not the desk agent. …
  5. Book over the phone. …
  6. Let them know it is a special occasion. …
  7. Only stay for one night.

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

Fancy a bigger, better room than you can afford on your next trip? Try some of these great tips for a chance at a free room upgrade!

1. Choose a transfer agent for automatic upgrades

There are booking sites that will automatically upgrade you if a better room becomes available at the same rate as when you originally booked your room. Basically they rebook you and cancel the previous booking.

2. Be a loyal customer

Loyalty goes a long way, and chain hotels use programs to ensure their customers keep coming back. Some have programs where you can upgrade 4 times a year, others make sure they do their best to help if a request is made with booking etc. So if you choose a Marriott hotel every time you travel, book into the loyalty program and it won’t be long before you’ll earn that elusive complimentary upgrade!

3. Ask at reception – nice and quiet

Asking for an upgrade and getting one upon check-in requires some decency. First, make sure you are well presented and polite. Ask without expectation and always make sure you ask when no other guests are likely to overhear – your request is more likely to be granted if it isn’t followed by a rush of customers wanting the same treatment!

4. Ask the concierge, not the desk agent

It’s the concierge’s job to ensure guests have a personalized and perfect stay, so as a front desk clerk it’s more likely that he can pull some strings and get you an upgraded room at no extra cost, if one is available .

5. Book by phone

Online booking is convenient, but lacks the personal touch needed when it comes to getting a free upgrade. Booking over the phone allows you to start a conversation, connect, and find out what benefits might be available to you. Wink, wink.

6. Let them know it’s a special occasion

If it’s your birthday or anniversary, let them know when you book – if an upgrade is available, they can certainly let you do it. However, do not lie to get an upgrade, that is bad manners and you will have to live a lie during your stay and will be terribly ashamed if you find out.

7. Only stay one night

Staying just one night, especially during a less busy time of the week, increases your chance of a free upgrade. This is because if you are moved to an available room for just one night, it will not affect a possible booking for that room the next day.

What happens after booking?

Will Hotels Decorate Your Room for Birthdays or Other Occasions?

Hotels, whether budget or upscale, usually love to decorate your room for a birthday or other event. I’m a fan of decorated rooms so I do it for my friends and hotels are always willing to accommodate, especially resorts. Any Sandals Resort hotel will set up your room the moment they know what your vacation is about, without you even requesting it.

I spent my honeymoon at the Grand Palladium and the flower petals were all over the bed, towels folded like kissing swans, a message of welcome for us and of course an aphrodisiac. You can also make special requests at reception or in the restaurants, on D-Day for your birthday or any other special occasion.

How do you surprise a guest who is staying alone in a hotel?

You can notify the hotel in advance so they can prepare the room for that person and provide any special treats you may have ordered for that person.

If you do not wish to decorate the room but would like a special room service, serenade or balloon and gift delivered to your door, a member of staff will do this at no extra charge.

Do hotels give birthday discounts?

Many hotels will do this if you let them know when booking. During this festive season, several hotels are offering discounts and unique birthday packages to their guests.

To keep you happy, hotels offer you incentives and other promotional offers. Receive a complimentary room upgrade when you celebrate your birthday at a resort.

This is how they show the guests their appreciation and earn money at the same time. As a result, hotel occupancy and revenue will increase. They understand that birthdays are the ideal time to meet relatives and friends.

This gives them the opportunity to showcase their features and services. If they can get a large group to book for a birthday party, they can potentially bring in new business.

Are you being serenaded at a hotel for your birthday?

Yes! Not all, but many do. They do it in the restaurant but if someone makes a special request they can have it done in your room.

I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t appreciate being serenaded on their birthday or anniversary, even if it’s embarrassing.

After the serenade, you are sometimes given a drink of your choice, and the serenade is always served with a complimentary dessert. You can even have a lit candle with the dessert.

What special things can hotels do for birthdays?

You can celebrate your birthday in style by booking a hotel room. Birthday celebrations can be made even more memorable in hotels by taking advantage of special birthday offers. They even have their own event planners and offer free birthday perks and party packages.

Hotels ensure that you receive the best possible treatment on your big day. Decorate the room for you on the big day or get help with the planning.

Here are some of the extras the hotel can offer to make your stay unforgettable:

Packages for your birthday

It’s no secret that hosting a party can be a bit of a burden for hotels. You put a lot of time and effort into making sure your visitors are having a good time. For this reason, some hotels offer birthday packages for their guests.

They provide party supplies including party flags, use of resort cameras, a beer setup and free drinks for guests who come to the party. You have the choice between a sumptuous dinner or a relaxed BBQ by the pool.

room with view

You can request a room with a nice view if you tell the staff you will be staying at the hotel on your birthday. To make your special day even more memorable, the staff will be happy to book you a room with the best view.

Complimentary upgrades to a better room

Complimentary hotel upgrades are an added benefit. For those celebrating their birthday, most hotels have a special offer for them. You can easily request an upgrade by making a reservation in the month of your birthday.

The hotel staff can even provide you with a deluxe room that comes with all the bells and whistles imaginable. If you sign up for their mailing list, you’ll get a free breakfast. Evening cocktails and appetizers await you at the hotel bar.

The hotel chef prepares a special menu for guests.

Many hotels even go out of their way to ensure that your stay is a memorable one. As part of the hotel’s birthday package, the guest of honor is served a delicious dinner prepared by the hotel chef. You will be treated to unlimited tea and coffee on your special day.

Birthday celebrations in the comfort of your hotel room

Some hotels offer in-room birthday packages if you prefer a more private party. You can get a room, breakfast and room decoration at a reduced price. Add-ons such as cakes, bouquets, and balloons are also available for an additional fee.

Entertaining your guests in a private setting

For certain events, some hotels offer a special buffet menu. To accommodate your visitors, they can set up a buffet or rent a space for a party. You may even get a discount on the food and menu at the hotel.

Free nights in a hotel’s deluxe rooms are offered on top of the usual freebies.

Decorations for a meeting room

The function room can be reserved for a larger number of guests at a reduced price. International buffets or 7-course cuisine can complement your day.

In addition to the food and drinks, some venues offer balloons and flower arrangements.

event planning services

An event planner is a great option if you don’t want to put yourself through the burden of planning a birthday party. Event and party planners are always available to guests in hotels. They can help you make same-day arrangements if you pay a price to match.

Is there a special price for birthdays in hotels?

Guests celebrating their birthday can benefit from special offers and discounts in hotels. If you are celebrating a special occasion, many hotels will give you a 25% discount and a voucher. Hotel amenities are available if you are planning your stay during your birthday month.

How much can you charge a hotel for a birthday or other special occasion?

Birthdays are a good time to book a room in a hotel. You have the opportunity to make specific suggestions to improve your overall experience. Perks include room upgrades, late check-in, and spectacular views.

You can make a specific request to the hotel management by contacting them by phone or email when making your reservation. To make the day special for them, you can let them know that you’re celebrating an important occasion like a birthday, anniversary, or career advancement.

Below are the items that you can request from the hotel for your birthday party. Your request will be granted as long as it meets the hotel policy.

Requesting an upgrade for a room

Requesting a late check out

Ask about additional amenities

What can I do to make my hotel birthday unforgettable?

In order to have a truly unforgettable hotel birthday party, it is important to prepare a variety of exciting activities. A game night, a movie night, a pizza party, or a spa party in the hotel room are all possible options. In general, any activity that is not disruptive or against hotel rules is welcome.
