Mazda 3 Owner’s Manual: Accessory Sockets
Only use genuine Mazda accessories or equivalent that does not require more than 120W (DC 12V, 10A).
Type A
The accessory sockets can be used whether the ignition is on or off.
Type B *
The ignition must be switched to ACC or ON.
With CD player
Without CD player
CAUTION To prevent damage to the accessory jack or power failure, observe the following: Do not use any accessory that requires more than 120 W (DC 12 V, 10 A).
Do not use any accessory that is not a genuine Mazda accessory or equivalent.
Close the cover when the accessory socket is not in use to prevent foreign objects and liquids from entering the accessory socket.
Insert the plug into the accessory socket correctly.
Do not plug the cigarette lighter into the accessory socket. Audio playback may be noisy depending on the device connected to the accessory jack.
Depending on the device plugged into the accessory socket, the vehicle’s electrical system may be affected, which may cause the warning light to illuminate. Disconnect the connected device and make sure the problem is resolved. If the problem is resolved, unplug the device and turn off the ignition. If the problem is not resolved, contact an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
NOTICE To avoid draining the battery, do not use the outlet for a long time with the engine off or idling.

You could, but the better way is to run a dedicated and fused key operated power cable. Chances are you always mount the dash cam in the same place? Logical! Running another power cable around the cockpit is just always a bad idea. But run a power cable for your dash cam and a line and plug it into a key operated fuse. This protects a dedicated fuse circuit and neatly routes the cable out of the way to connect to your dash cam. Apologies for the bad photography but I had a great spaghetti dinner and some nice glasses of wine! I just went out and grabbed these for you and had to dig out my extra fusible power cord.
