When I say the inside of the RV, I mean the inside of the roof. The bottom and interior of the roof are not treated the same as the exterior. They are treated with urethane that seals holes in the fabric when the outside is treated with DWR, allowing water to bead off the surface.
This is about treating the camper locally. You can of course redesign the entire camper, it’s up to you.
You will need:
A suitable impregnation agent
Gloves to protect your hands
A big brush
Solvent and a sanding sponge
A damp cloth
As I told you before, you will act in a localized manner, so you don’t have to set up your RV. Just make sure it’s dry. As for the floor, turn your RV over and lay it on the floor to have a flat work surface.
Remove worn impregnation with nail polish remover and sponge. Let dry. Apply the impregnation with the brush, do not forget to protect your hands. If you have any products left, please feel free to add more. Let your camper dry for 24 hours.
Seal the outside of the RV roof
Most RV roofs are treated on the outside with a non-water repellent DWR coating. This is the area in your RV that suffers the most from the outside environment.
The roof can also be treated with silicone for nylon fabrics or polyurethane for polyester fabrics. Some manufacturers use polyurethane on the inside and silicone on the outside for more efficiency.
However, the DWR is sufficient for typical camper use.
You will need:
A water repellent product
Sponge to clean the camper if necessary
A big brush

I strongly recommend that you waterproof your RV roof on a sunny day with high temperatures to speed up the drying process. Spread the waterproofing layer on the outside of the fabric.
