TOPFINISH 2 Natural Ultra Gloss Polishing Compound
TOPFINISH 2 by Pai Cristal is an advanced nano-abrasive technology polishing paste used to finish assembled patterns, molds and components to a high gloss finish. In our test, no other polishing paste can produce such a high gloss in the same amount of time as TOPFINISH 2.
The balance of advanced nano abrasives and high performance polishes used in TOPFINISH 2 is unique to Pai Cristal Italia and represents the pinnacle of high gloss polishes even on the toughest composite materials such as vinyl ester and epoxy.
As a high gloss finishing or repair paint, TOPFINISH 2 is only intended to remove fine scratches left by coarser putty, holograms or to restore shine to a previously finished mould. After using coarser abrasives, initial scratch removal and polishing should be done with a faster cutting, coarser paste such as NW1 Black before proceeding to a high gloss finish with TOPFINISH 2.

how to use
For best results, TOPFINISH 2 should be used with a variable speed polisher, choosing a medium-soft foam polishing pad to quickly and effectively remove residual swirls from previous joints or restore extreme luster to molds and components.
Apply a small amount of the paste to the polishing pad or mop. Run the polisher on low speed and speed it up (1000 – 2000 rpm) while spreading the paste with criss-cross motions. Be careful not to overheat the surface of the mold or part. If heat builds up, reduce speed or pressure, or wait for heat to dissipate.
Reapply the compound as needed, but always allow sufficient time when reapplying to allow the compound to break down and transition from a cutting to a glossy effect.
Wipe the polished surface clean with a microfiber polishing cloth.

It should be used after a coarser cutting compound such as NW1 in situations where the highest possible gloss is required.
Suggested Uses
TOPFINISH 2 is NOT a substitute for a coarser grinding paste such as NW1 Super Cutting Compound, which should always be used after smoothing GlassCast (on 1200 grit) with sandpaper. Instead, TOPFINISH 2 can be used as a second polishing paste to achieve an even higher degree of gloss if required. Alternatively, TOPFINISH 2 can be used to restore shine to existing worktops, bartops, floors or jewelry that may have become slightly scratched through use over time.

TOPFINISH 2 is a finishing paste and not a cutting paste. Before applying TOPFINISH 2, the surface of your resin should already be smooth and shiny. If the surface shows scratches, these should only be very fine usage scratches, not remaining scratches from previous smoothing and polishing.
Once the surface is ready for buffing, apply a generous amount of TOPFINISH 2 with a clean cloth or wipe. A polishing machine brings the best results in the shortest possible time, but it is also possible to polish epoxy resin with TOPFINISH 2 by hand.
When using a power polisher, it is recommended to use a soft or medium soft (blue) polishing pad to match the fine polishing effect of TOPFINISH 2. When buffing, be sure to keep the pad moving to avoid too much heat building up in the resin. Add more compound as needed.
