Touch Up Paint (turquoise -21)
The paint sticks from CARF-Models are exactly the same colors that are used in the painting process in the molds. They are formulated not to be 100% glossy and do not stick to surfaces very well. This character is designed for our In-The-Mold painting process. However, no problems are to be expected if the surface is properly cleaned (alcohol or lighter fluid) and lightly sanded (Scotchbrite or similar). The CARF touch-up stick can be polished up perfectly and faded into the original color of your model. Repair spots become almost invisible.
The mixing ratio is Color 4:1 Hardener. With this mixture, the paint is fully resistant to petrol/gasoline, but may show signs of abrasion with methanol, nitro and synthetic oils. A higher proportion of hardener can noticeably improve this. Any car thinner can be used as a thinner, for small and quick repairs even acetone is sufficient. Use thinners to adjust paint viscosity depending on your application equipment.
The CARF-Models Paints do not follow any national or international color code standards. They are based on the pigment used. Our touch up colors are 100% consistent with our shades, however shades may vary slightly due to the color of the surface it is applied to. It is recommended to use white as a base over the repair area before applying the required colour. With dark and opal colors, a black primer can be useful.
