Uber Eats is a convenient way to order food straight to your door. But if you’re ordering food, you might be wondering which payment methods Uber Eats accepts.

In this post, we look at all the Uber Eats payment methods you can use. This post also tells you what to do if your preferred payment method isn’t working or has been declined.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at all of Uber Eats’ payment methods.

List of Uber Eats payment methods

As mentioned earlier, Uber Eats offers its customers multiple ways to pay for their orders. Here is a list of all Uber Eats payment methods.

1. Credit or Debit Cards

Uber Eats accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit or debit cards. You can provide your card information in the app either by entering the information manually or by scanning your card with the app. I usually find it easier to enter my card information manually as the scan option can be finicky.

If you can, I recommend paying for your order with a credit card rather than a debit card. That’s because credit cards generally offer better consumer protection. If you have a problem with your order, it’s usually easier to dispute it with a credit card than with a debit card.

2. Apple Pay

You can also use Apple Pay to pay for your Uber Eats order. To do this, you need to link your Apple Pay to Uber Eats. If you already have Apple Pay set up on your phone, using this option can be a convenient way to pay for your order and save you the time of having to add a credit card to your account.

3. PayPal

PayPal is another payment method you can use with Uber Eats. To use PayPal, you must link your PayPal account to your Uber Eats account. Once you’ve linked your accounts, you can use Paypal to pay for your Uber Eats orders.

4. Venmo

Most people use Venmo to pay friends and family, but you can also use Venmo to pay for your Uber Eats order. To do this, you need to link your Venmo account to Uber Eats. Once linked, you can use your Venmo balance to pay for your orders.

5. Gift Cards

Gift cards are another way to pay for your Uber Eats gift card. If you have a gift card that you would like to add to your account, simply go to the Payment Methods section of the app and then add your gift card. You need to enter the gift card code into the account and then you can use the gift card.

6. Uber Credit

Finally, you can use Uber credit to pay for your Uber Eats orders. One nice thing to know is that Uber credits can be used for both Uber rides and Uber Eats orders, giving you some flexibility in how you use those credits

You can get Uber credit in a number of ways. The most common is to use Uber gift cards. You can apply gift cards to your Uber account, which will then be stored in your account as Uber credit.

Another way to earn Uber credit is through certain credit card benefits. The American Express Platinum Card, for example, gives cardholders $15 in Uber credit each month (and $35 in Uber credit in December). I have this card and since I order from Uber Eats regularly, I consider these Uber credits to be similar to cash.

The last way to get Uber credit is when Uber issues credit to your account. This can happen when you receive a refund for an order you placed, or when Uber issues you a credit note because of a problem with your order. I recently had an issue where an order I placed was missing many items when it arrived. Uber issued me a refund for these missing items and also gave me a $5 courtesy credit for the inconvenience.

Uber Eats payment methods not accepted

The most notable payment method that Uber Eats doesn’t accept is cash. It seems like Uber Eats accepts cash payments in some places around the world, but cash payments are not accepted in the United States. If you wish to pay for your order, you must use one of the payment methods listed above.

What to do if your payment method doesn’t work or is declined

If a payment method you have chosen is not working, you should first ensure that the method you are using has sufficient funds to cover your order costs. Otherwise, it’s best to try a different payment method, either by adding a new card or linking a different payment account.

To add a new payment method, go to the Payments section in the app and tap Add Payment Method. Then enter your new payment information.

Final Thoughts

I hope this post helped you understand all the different payment methods available for Uber Eats. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below!

How to sign up for and use Uber Eats

Now that you know the basics of Uber Eats, let’s go through all the steps to place an order.

To order food from a local restaurant, all you need is the Uber Eats app and a smartphone, tablet, or computer:

Download the Uber Eats app. You can find the app for Android or Apple phones on the App Store or Google Play. You can also find links to download the app on uber.com by clicking on the food tab, or on ubereats.com. You can’t use the regular Uber app to order food. Enter your location. Uber Eats services vary from location to location. Enter your shipping address — it could be your home, a friend’s house, or your vacation rental — to see what restaurants are available near you. Add payment method. Add a credit or debit card to use to pay for your food orders. You can also fund your account with Uber Cash, use a gift card, and link your PayPal in the US. Search for specific restaurants or by type of cuisine. Once you’ve entered your location, you can scroll through the restaurant options. You can use the search feature to find a specific restaurant you love or to find a type of food like Chinese, vegan or a steakhouse. You can also search by price to find cheap restaurants or fine dining. Browse the menu and make a selection. When you find a restaurant you like, click on the items to add them to your shopping cart. Sometimes you’ll see options to customize your food or add ingredients. Select these options before clicking Add to Order. Place your order. After you have selected all the items you want, click on your shopping cart and select “Checkout”. The app will take you to a payment screen where you can see the order fee, service fee and delivery fee, as well as the final payment amount. If everything looks good, place your order. Track your food in real time. After you place your order, you will receive a notification when the restaurant starts preparing your meal. You can also track the delivery driver as he collects your order and delivers it to your location. The app shows estimated arrival times so you know when to expect your food. Receive and accept the order. You will receive another notification when the driver pulls up at your location. You can meet the driver outside, wait for them to knock and take it from them, or just pick up the bag of food at your doorstep. Leave a tip and dig in! You can tip your driver if you think he did a good job. We recommend leaving a tip as this will help drivers and deliverers cover expenses. It’s also a great way to say thank you for their time. Now all you have to do is stock up on your yummy treats!

Ordering food with Uber Eats is quick and easy.

With these simple steps, you can choose online breakfast delivery or order a three-course meal for dinner with friends and family.

The Uber Eats app makes it easy to see exactly what you’re going to pay when you place your order.

On the checkout page, you’ll see the subtotal plus any applicable fees, including a small order fee, a delivery fee, and a service fee.

You can click on each fee for more information about what you are paying for.

In this article, we’ll break down how this referral process works and explain other ways you can get free rides on Uber so you can save even more on Uber!

To get a free ride with Uber:

Open the Uber app. Tap the menu button, then tap Free Rides. Tap “Invite Friends”. with a free ride up to $20 after the first ride

Looking for a more in-depth explanation or more ways to ride Uber for free? Check out our step-by-step guide below on how to get free Uber rides and Uber discounts.

Detailed Instructions for Free Uber Rides:

1. If you’re new to Uber, download the app and use a first-time driver discount code

If you’re new to Uber and driving for the first time, your first ride with Uber can be free (up to a certain amount, depending on where you are). All you have to do is enter a promo code (which you can find on uber.com) or have a friend refer you to Uber.

Download the Uber app and create an account. For information on how to do this, see our tutorial on how to download and register Uber. If you received a referral code from a friend, open this message and tap the link they sent you.

You can also enter the code manually in the Uber app. Open the app, tap the menu button (the three horizontal bars), then tap Promotions. Enter the code you received, then tap Apply.

Once the code is entered, you’ll automatically receive a predetermined discount on your first Uber ride. The amount may vary by city or promotion, but you’re likely to get around $20 in credit toward your first ride. You cannot control which ride this promotion applies to, as it is always the first ride you take, regardless of whether the ride totaled $20 or not.

That means if your ride was only $7, you only get $7 in credit. If your ride was $33, you’ll pay the additional $13 fee over your $20 credit. Keep this in mind when taking your first ride, as it’s wise to wait until you can get the most benefit (for a ride that costs at least $20) before using it. However, a free ride is a free ride, so be sure to enter a promo code for your first Uber ride!

2. Refer your family and friends to Uber as often as possible to get free rides up to $20

Once you’ve signed up with Uber, you can regularly earn free rides by promoting Uber’s taxi service. All you have to do is tell someone your personal Uber promo code or send it to them in various ways. When you sign up for an Uber account, Uber automatically assigns you a promo code, which you can view at any time by opening the app, tapping the menu button (the three bars), and then tapping Free Rides.

When viewing your free ride coupon code in the app, tap Invite Friends. Then choose a way to share your passcode from the options your device gives you. Common methods for sharing your code are SMS, email, or other messaging apps. You can even use social media services like Facebook or Snapchat to share your code! Tap one and follow the steps you would follow in that program to select a contact, then send your message.

When your contact enters the code, they’ll receive credit toward their first ride. Once they enter your code and actually start their ride, a credit (amount varies by location) will be automatically applied to your account. You can view your free rides by tapping the menu button in your Uber app, then tapping Payment. If you have free credits, they will appear under your credit card or other payment options. Tap on it to see more details.

You can also see your free rides by tapping the menu button (the three bars) and then tapping Actions. If you have free rides, they will be displayed and you will be notified when they expire.

This referral process is for new Uber users only, i.e. H. a friend who already uses Uber cannot use your referral code. Uber may suspend your referral code privileges if you attempt to invite existing Uber users. Also remember that these promotions also expire after three months, so use them within this timeframe.

Another fun trick that can save you even more money is to recommend Uber to a friend and then ride with them on their first ride. For example, if you’re carpooling with a large group, it’s a good idea to send your promo code to someone who isn’t an Uber user. That way, the whole group rides Uber for free on their first free ride. After they use their free ride, you’ll get another free ride later if you share your code!

3. Check Uber.com or other online sources regularly to find and enter promo codes

Occasionally, Uber may run a promotion that provides users with a promo code to give them credit towards their rides. Historically, this is strictly for new Uber users as existing users can always use the referral system to get free rides. However, there is no harm in always checking!

Try opening your web browser and visiting www.Uber.com to see if there are currently any promotions running. If so, they will likely appear on the homepage banner. Or you can try typing the phrase “Uber coupon codes” into a search engine.

4. Save money by sharing an Uber fare with another passenger

Although you won’t get a free ride using this method, you can save some money by sharing a ride with another rider using Uber. When splitting the fare, the Uber fare is divided by the number of users who have consented to a split.

To split an Uber fare, first request an Uber driver. Once the driver is on the road, or at any time during the journey, you can tap your driver’s name or photo, then tap Fare Split in your Uber app. Select friends from your contacts list to ride with you, then tap Done.

The passenger will immediately receive a notification on their device and must then tap “Accept” before your ride ends. If you don’t accept the invitation before the ride ends, you’ll pay the full fare as usual. If they accept, the fare will be split equally among those who have agreed to share the fare.

These are our tips and tricks for saving money with Uber and using Uber promo codes, discounts and free rides. Remember to always send invites to your contacts if you want free Uber rides!

How to Use Pay Later on Uber

Uber has had successful business in India, competing with local taxi-sharing startup Ola. Uber was successful in India because it didn’t follow its US strategy and responded to Indian specific needs. However, there are some Indian specifics that Uber still lacks, the biggest being the lack of a pay later option. While Ola has its own pay later option, companies like Swiggy and Zomato have partnered with third-party pay later services to provide this feature. Uber does none of these things. However, there is a way to enable pay-later services on Uber, which allow you to take rides first and pay for them later. If you’re interested, here’s how to pay later with Uber.

Note: Currently this only works on Android devices.
