When it comes to understanding how we express our sexuality, energy and struggle, let’s look at the placement of powerful Mars in our natal charts.
Realizing what turns someone on or ticks them is important when considering the full vision of who they are and how they live their life. While we’re obviously referring to a person’s sun sign, ascendant (rising sign), and moon sign in a birth chart, it’s always helpful to also pinpoint exactly what zodiac sign Mars is in as well. It is a powerful planet and an integral part of how we take charge of our lives.
Mars is the planet of sex, drive and action. While he’s not the top factor when it comes to relationship compatibility, it’s still important to understand how someone expresses their passion. Think: fight or flight. Active or passive. jump or wait.
Mars takes about two years to orbit the Sun, so your Mars sign may not be the same as your Sun sign – adding layers to your personality. As you observe patterns you are creating in your life, check the zodiac sign and degree your natal Mars is in — and then observe when transiting Mars returns to the same location every two years. You’ll get a snapshot of how you’ll take action, express your sex drive, and motivate yourself for the journey ahead.

People with this tendency tend to prefer harmony, peace, fairness and justice to personal victory. They may also be particularly passionate about partnerships and always have a key person to work with or coordinate with.

What do Mars in Scorpio like in bed?
And if you’re not, don’t sweat it — besides the emotional side of bedroom fun, this transit can also make our romps more adventurous. “Mars in Scorpio heats up the bedroom and may make sex feel wild, hot, and intense AF,” says Murphy.
Venus in Sagittarius, Mars in Scorpio : “Open”
“In Scorpio, Mars is able to display its energy, drive and sexual stamina to the fullest,” says Narayana Montúfar, senior astrologer at Astrology.com. While Mars was in Libra, we’ve felt the effects most in our relationships with others. But with Mars in Scorpio, our attention is focused on building a relationship with our innermost selves, so get ready to do some soul searching. “Whereas Mars was angry and passive-aggressive during their stay in Libra, Mars in Scorpio feels empowered,” she says. “It also likes to go deeper.” Fair warning – thanks to this energy we will be at our best for the next month and a half.
This could be a perfect time to get your priorities right and ask yourself what it is you really want from this life that you are not getting and what actions you can take to get there. “Mars in Scorpio is the time to examine your drives, desires, drives and feelings to work harder on the positive ones and heal those that are blocking you,” says Madi Murphy, co-founder of The Cosmic RX and The Cosmic Revolution . “This transit can show you where you need to satisfy your urges or work on bringing your dreams to life.” Exploring our desires—both good and bad—will be a major theme during this transit as we inward look and determine what serves us and what does not.
Leslie Hale, psychic astrologer at Keen.com, says that during this time we feel a strong urge for inner transformation and we can easily quench that itch. “If there is a genuine desire for change, there is very little that can hold us back with Mars in this very determined sign,” she says. Once we know what we need to change, Mars in Scorpio gives us the power to take those actions. By channeling this energy to change our lives for the better, we stand a good chance of emerging as winners on the other side of this planetary shift.
The story goes on
We must not forget one of the biggest parts of our lives that Mars controls – sex. “Chemistry and sexual interactions tend to take on a more serious tone, as the watery aspect of Mars in Scorpio can intertwine emotional reactivity with sex,” says Montúfar. “It’s perfect for bringing depth, vulnerability, and confidence to sex life, but maybe not ideal for a casual fling.” If you’re partners, use this time to explore each other (both physically and emotionally) to develop your relationship and to make your connection even stronger.
And if not, don’t sweat it—besides the emotional side of bedroom fun, this transit can also make our romps more adventurous. “Mars in Scorpio heats up the bedroom and can make sex feel wild, hot, and intense,” says Murphy. “Scorpio is all about those deep connections and going through things that seem kinky, taboo, or downright dirty. Whips and chains get us excited for the next six weeks.” You heard them — if there was ever a time to try some new tricks and toys, it would be now.
There are a few dates to keep in mind when the planet of action falls under the sign of Scorpio. “When Mars and Saturn meet on November 10, it will be a time when others will try to dominate us, or vice versa,” says Lisa Stardust, author of Saturn Return Survival Guide and The Astrology Deck. Depending on the situation, you have two choices: stand by your side, or recognize when you may be the culprit in the situation. Everyone calls for food for thought, so expect this day to be a bit rocky.
Hale calls this square tiresome and frustrating. “Some people might feel blocked, and when they do, it’s best to just let that energy pass and know that things are about to change,” she says. “It can also indicate conflict and arguments.” She says that mental and emotional control can go a long way.
Mars forms an opposition to Uranus in Taurus on November 17th. “Although this opposition could make us really deviant, it’s also an intense aspect that we should be careful not to get too assertive about,” says Montúfar. “Impulsive action could backfire around this time.” Hale agrees. “A significant possibility in this transit is acting rashly or recklessly without thinking things through beforehand,” she says. “This is a day to be flexible and not react to things immediately.” Take your time before making hasty decisions or spreading gossip—this approach is usually a good idea anyway, but it becomes even more important during this transit .
Let your feelings guide you for the next month and a half. Mars in Scorpio is incredibly intuitive and thoughtful, so let him take the reins as we move deeper into Scorpio season. You never know what you’ll find.

What angers Mars in Scorpio?
This is not as common with an emotionally secure Scorpio, but those who have issues with self-esteem and self-worth will not have the coping skills necessary for these situations, and they may react with great anger.
Venus in Sagittarius, Mars in Scorpio : “Open”

Mars is the planet that governs our drives and desires, including the intimate nature. It’s not quite the same as romance since Venus has dominion over that area. If your astrological chart has Mars in Scorpio, this powerful energy will influence the way your urges and desires are formulated and pursued.
As you learn more about this aspect of yourself, you can better understand the emotions you feel and the choices you make.
Intense focus and relentless pursuit
People with Mars in Scorpio are often driven by an intense focus to get what they want, no matter what it is. When they set their sights on someone in particular, they will do whatever it takes to win that person over. They are not deterred by silly things like existing boyfriends or girlfriends, and sometimes even husbands and wives are not strong enough to deter them!
They will observe closely to learn what makes the object of their affection tick, and they will then use their perceptive abilities to draw that person into their world.
Ruled by emotions: anger, desire, love and lust
Those with Mars in Scorpio live and breathe emotion, and it’s the strongest kind imaginable. If they are anxious to have you, they will come out very, very strong and overwhelm you with the sheer intensity of their emotions. Intimacy will be a deeply emotional experience and there will be an extreme blurring of the lines between love and intimacy as these people will share everything in their hearts when in the clutches of passion.
For the same reason, emotionality can be their downfall, and it can be downright scary if you’re on the wrong side of your temperament. When they feel hurt or rejected, the first thing they do is feel hurt, and this is often followed by anger.
This is not as common in an emotionally secure Scorpio, but those with self-esteem and self-worth issues will not have the coping skills needed for these situations and may react with great anger. It is therefore unwise to play games of the heart with Scorpio, because they do not often distinguish between love and lust – the two are said to go hand in hand as far as they are concerned.
Intimacy and power to the Nth degree
People with Mars in Scorpio have powers beyond your imagination. You can’t help but feel it in intimate moments, and this can leave intimate partners feeling breathless and flattened both before and after the experience.
Extremely perceptive, Scorpio knows exactly what their partner needs and they will go to great lengths to see that it is being given to them, but they will also need to receive the same intensity in return, which means those with a fire sign will do well are suitable partners. while those with strong air placements may be too weak to test these waters.
However, one thing is for sure – when an intimate relationship with a Scorpio comes to an end, the impressions left on their partner are likely to last forever!

Is Scorpio Mars aggressive?
The downside to fiery Mars’ time in watery Scorpio is that we may express ourselves with unrelenting aggressiveness or anger. This can be either outright or under the surface, and could prolong conflicts and erode relationships.

Mars feels very comfortable in Scorpio because in traditional astrology Mars was the ruler of Scorpio. It shares an affinity for this sign, giving them the potential to work very well together. Scorpio is about getting to the bottom of things so they can be completely transformed, while Mars, the planet of action, is great at stimulating and creating change.
Tenacity is common with a motivated Mars in this solid sign, and there is a greater ability to persevere and overcome difficult challenges during this transit. In fact, it has been said that Mars in Scorpio doesn’t like to do things the easy way. Resistance is just another obstacle to testing the power of Mars here.

When Mars is in Scorpio
Mars in Scorpio gives us the strength to let our drive and ambition run free. In this sign, Mars is not motivated to compromise or even think about what others have to say. Mars in Scorpio gives us the gift of the ultimate cosmic backbone that makes us feel in complete control of our actions. No one can control us during this time, and if they try… well, watch out!
Our drive to change something in our lives through sheer willpower will go through the roof during this time. Mars in Scorpio is never afraid to explore the darker, more vulnerable side of life. In fact, this is where Mars thrives in Scorpio. Because of this, this transit can prompt us to undertake a psychological self-examination that will give us insights that will set the stage for a great transformation.
The flip side of the fiery Mars time in Watery Scorpio is that we may express ourselves with unrelenting aggressiveness or anger. This can happen either directly or beneath the surface and could prolong conflicts and erode relationships. The trick with this transit is to be selective about which walls we want to break down. We can use this energy constructively by taking on projects that help us direct our intensity and passion in a more positive way.
Mars in Scorpio can feel like we have entered a spiritual training camp because it helps us develop our personal power. As long as we choose to rise above the shadows—power struggles, vengeance, bitterness, and an inability to forgive—we have the opportunity to master these parts of ourselves with courage, discipline, and willpower.

If you were born with Mars in Scorpio
Mars is about forward momentum and Scorpio is about emotions, meaning your attitudes and actions are intense, powerful, and willful, empowering you for great endurance. You are a fighter who can dust yourself no matter how many times life knocks you down – a veritable phoenix rising from the ashes.
Your Mars in Scorpio gives you a sharp intuition that will help you uncover the truth even before you know all the facts. You demand honesty from those around you, and if you feel someone is being dishonest – and you will, thanks to Scorpio’s influence – you will investigate until you find out what’s really going on.
“I’m in it to win it” are probably words you live by. This combination of action (Mars) and passion (Scorpio) means that once you set your mind to something, you pursue it with incredible focus and determination. Not only are you able to put everything you have into achieving your goals, you relish the opportunity to rise to a challenge.
As someone with Mars in Scorpio, you are a powerhouse of passion and exude a sensuality that draws others into you almost immediately. You are loyal in love and crave a deep connection with a partner you can trust. The line between sex and power is thin for those with Mars in Scorpio, causing you to struggle with obsessive or possessive thoughts when it comes to your significant other. By channeling those strong feelings into another outlet — your career, for example — you could end up achieving more than you ever imagined… and saving your relationship in the process.
Scorpio isn’t afraid of what others normally shy away from, so as someone with Mars in this sign, you don’t mind diving headlong into topics that others may find too dangerous, forbidden, or taboo. You also tend to explore the depths of your own emotions and try to understand yourself in ways you haven’t done before. This makes Mars in Scorpio an incredible place for growth and transformation – your willingness to “go there.”

The matters of ancestral property can also become an area of concern for the native.

This is a lucky placement for Venus as she rules this sign and can spread her blessings very easily.

However, over time, they learn to temper these feelings and usually find partners who are more grounded to stabilize them.

Success, status, and power can also “turn on” for these people.
Venus in Aquarius
Venus in Aquarius gives one a desire to explore the highest level of intellectual connection with others. While one might seem distant or aloof at first for this reason, it is simply because they require a truly authentic mental connection with another in order to open up. These individuals are not very intimate or affectionate but can certainly be very open minded when it comes to sex, courtship, experimentation and dating. Non-traditional relationships can fascinate these people, as can new experiences and travel. Communication will always have top priority for these people as well.
Venus in Pisces
Venus in Pisces blesses someone with a deeply sensitive, creative, and romantic heart. These people often see through rose-tinted glasses and plunge headlong into fantasy as soon as their hearts ignite! They tend to be particularly emotional and easily get carried away by their feelings, hopes and dreams. They long for a partner who fuels their strong emotions, but who also encourages them to be practical and grounded. However, due to their ever-changing minds, they can just as easily dive into a union or swim away when they feel trapped or controlled. Mars in Libra
People born in Mars in Libra often think about things before they act. Determination is not their forte, but they eventually get things done. Many people in this position hesitate, generally because they feel the need to weigh all the alternatives before acting.
Life isn’t always fair, as Mars in Scorpio would say, but Mars in Libra will rarely accept that notion. These natives can easily get caught up in defending themselves and others. Although their ultimate goal is to live peacefully, they upset others with their desire to balance everything. Despite this, they always play innocent when challenged and can generally pull the birds out of the trees to win your favor. Passive aggressiveness is practically the hallmark of this position. They don’t want to look like they’re ever mean or unfair, but aggression has to go somewhere! All too often, this leads to sneaky behavior and subterfuge. On the other hand, some Mars in Libra people put this Mars energy into action and fight for Libra justice and fairness in the world.
On the other hand, Mars in Libra people are adept at predicting in time when problems and discord will arise. You know how to compromise and are excellent at conflict management.

Mars in Scorpio
Mars-in-Scorpio people love to challenge themselves to do the impossible. They throw themselves into whatever they decide to do with concentrated energy and incredible willpower.
These people are formidable opponents, if often silently. On the surface, they keep their calm and balance. There may be another story beneath the surface, and they probably won’t let you in easily. Mars in Scorpio has the potential to take advantage of others – they see through others and rely heavily on their gut instincts.
The sexual stamina of this position is considered the strongest of all Mars positions. Sometimes Mars in Scorpio people are attracted to taboos and their fantasies can be to blast the taboos to pieces! They enjoy scenarios where the “other” gives in to them, wants them completely, and will do absolutely anything for them. And their sexual attraction is strong enough that they generally get what they want.
They find it difficult to share their partners, although they will probably never admit it. In stark contrast to Mars in Libra, who is most comfortable with the middle ground, Mars in Scorpio has a black and white philosophy of life. These are the people who say, “Just choose!” They’re really not comfortable with compromise – what kind of satisfaction could you possibly get from compromise? For Mars in Scorpio, real life is all about accepting challenges and making changes.
These people are constantly testing themselves and often others as well. They set up all kinds of rules and goals just for the personal satisfaction that comes from achieving or mastering those goals. Their survival instincts are strong and they embrace their own animal nature when they are completely alone with themselves, without guilt.
These people have a provocative quality to them. This quality is usually most evident in adolescence, although it often carries over into adulthood in more subtle, controlled ways.
Mars in Scorpio born people who have low self esteem can be powerfully twisted. Instead of beating themselves up, they turn their self-loathing outward and end up manipulating others and feeling upset.
While Mars in Libra constantly strives to bring fairness to the world, Mars in Scorpio knows that life just isn’t fair.

Mars in Sagittarius
When Mars in Sagittarius get angry, they feel like running. You have to do something – not against it, but something completely different. You don’t have much patience to wait things out. This is where Sagittarius’ restless and adventurous nature comes into play. People in this Mars position should seriously consider physical activity as the best way to manage anger if they are not already doing it (naturally).
People with Mars in Sagittarius usually have several projects going on at the same time. However, they are not known for their staying power! However, they start new projects with admirable enthusiasm. Their vision and optimism can get in the way of completing what they have started – they want to do so much and they throw things away too easily when a new idea catches on.
Most of the time, Mars in Sagittarius is playful and fun-loving. They love friendly debates, although they can go to extremes. Some take it personally if you disagree with them – after all, why would you disagree? Well, for one thing (especially if you have planets in Virgo or Gemini) you might find many loopholes in their arguments. The thing is, most of the time they haven’t thought things through, but they are very passionate about what they believe in. Mars in Sagittarius loves to give it wings.
Mars in Sagittarius people see themselves as warm-blooded people. They are, but sometimes, during their more passionate debates, they ruthlessly brush over the feelings of others. They can be blunt with people, but when they have a more tactful Mercury placement, that trait is tempered. Her direct, outspoken approach is most evident in bed. They are passionate lovers and are turned on by open-mindedness and good humor. But they usually aren’t patient when the sex gets too complicated or serious.
Mars in Sagittarius can be a bit difficult to understand. Sometimes they seem to be the most easy-going people – they love a good joke and a good time. Other times they’re on fire – intense and passionate about something. They detest anything that fences them in. You need to feel like you have space. They’re the ones who run away when things get too serious or boring. They’ll probably be back soon – it’s just that they need to feel free for a while or they’ll go insane.
When these people argue, they too easily adopt a moralistic attitude that drives everyone around them crazy. Most likely, however, sooner or later they will jump off their high horse and have fun again.
Mars in Sagittarius is used to getting his way and convincing others to believe in what they believe in. At times they face the few who don’t quite believe their grand theories or, worse, poke holes in their plans. This is when these normally fun-loving people get frustrated. In fact, they take it personally when others disagree with their philosophy.

Mars in Capricorn
With fiery Mars in the more orderly sign of Capricorn, natives of this position have a subdued and controlled lifestyle. Most don’t seem particularly enthusiastic; rather, her energy is reserved but determined.
Mars-in-Capricorn natives like to be on top of things. They are generally goal oriented and focused people who are not afraid of hard work. Most are high achievers by nature, and many have clearly defined ambitions – more than anything clearly defined for themselves. They’re not particularly flashy people, but their drive to succeed and make their lives safe is strong, even if the world can’t see it directly.
Anger is expressed rather coolly and calmly in this Mars position. Self control is strong when it comes to expressing anger, drive, energy and sexuality. Capricorn is a sign that abhors waste of any kind. It also fears clutter and “letting go”. With Mars in Capricorn, there is generally a strong need to be in control.
This is not to say that natives of this position are cold in the truest sense of the word. Your desires are strong, but they are often focused on the physical and material world – anything that can be seen and held. With Mars in the earth sign, sensuality is expressed in an earthy way. However, unlike, for example, Mars in Taurus (another earth sign), Mars in Capricorn is not inherently rampant. These people are usually pretty disciplined. Capricorn possesses the ability to plan for the future – something many other zodiac signs struggle with.
Mars-in-Capricorn natives work toward realistic and achievable goals. They are productive people who quit when they see tangible results from their efforts.
Many natives in this position are a little hard on themselves and sometimes on others. They can usually be counted on because they have an innate sense of responsibility for both themselves and those they care about. Most of them are very hardworking, and one of their strategies for dealing with anger is to throw even more energy into their work!

Mars in Aquarius
It can be a little difficult to understand exactly what makes a Mars tick in Aquarius native. And that’s totally fine with them – they love to surprise people. The tried and true ways of getting things done are far too boring for those born with Mars in this unique and primal sign. Mars-in-Aquarius natives also often have quite an original worldview.
These natives are generally quite proud of their independence. They’re not that easy to push around with Mars in this fixed sign. Since Aquarius is progressive and cosmopolitan, it may come as a surprise that Mars in Aquarius natives can be quite opinionated on a personal level. If they feel constrained, they are likely to rebel. Once you spot a pattern in their behavior, they’ll make sure they’re not so predictable next time. Being seen as “normal” just isn’t enough!
With Mars, the planet of energy and drive, in an air sign, these individuals embark on spiritual and intellectual pursuits. Aquarius is a somewhat scattered zodiac sign, although persevering in the long run. When there’s method to their madness, it’s not always easy to spot. With this position of Mars, projects are tackled shotgun style.
Mars in Air signs are generally pretty clever at getting what they want. in Aquarius they are particularly adept at asserting themselves. While this isn’t an overtly aggressive Mars position (Aquarius has a manner that is far too distant to be overpowered), it is very headstrong. Combine stubbornness with the shrewdness of an Air sign, and you have a person who is quite creative when it comes to getting what they want – which generally pulls through! Unlike, say, Mars in Aries or Leo, you won’t always know that you are dominated by a Mars in Aquarius!
One of the most pleasing characteristics of Mars in Aquarius is their willingness to leave others alone. They value freedom and individuality – theirs and yours. They need space to be themselves and plenty of room to breathe. These natives are generally not the sensitive types and often laugh at sentimentality and tradition. In personal relationships, their approach to intimacy is definitely more distant, which can be confusing and frustrating for more personal and loving personalities.
Of all the personal planets in Aquarius, Mars placed here may exhibit the strongest “reformer” streak. The Aquarian ideal of equality works very well with this position, and there is a great desire to impose their agenda on others (usually in creative rather than aggressive ways). Stubbornness and a superiority complex are the least desirable qualities of this position; Being open to new ways of doing things (as long as they aren’t forced on them) is where they shine.

Mars in Pisces
Mild and gentle, these boys and girls move through life in a way that can hardly be described as direct. Mars is the planet of action and assertion, and Pisces is a passive sign that rarely asserts itself directly. So the placement of Mars in Pisces is an unusual combination. Sometimes prone to feeling guilty about their anger and difficulty asserting themselves, Mars-in-Pisces individuals seem to “go with the flow.” This is certainly not a very active position for Mars, and natives often let life “happen” rather than trying to control their life direction. This is a charming position as individuals with Mars in Pisces don’t look like they could harm a fly. However, those who fail to find creative expression for this energy can stir up a storm through indirect aggression.
Mars in Pisces people are not averse to playing games to get what they want, although even they don’t always know exactly what they want! Their desires are fickle and capricious, and it’s hard to tell where these natives stand on any given subject. Alternatively, some Mars in Pisces people take a stand on issues that are inherently Pisces, making compassion and love their mission.
Energy levels fluctuate wildly and come in bursts of activity followed by sluggishness. Because it can be difficult to balance this ebb and flow of energy in the day-to-day world, finding a job that supports this can be difficult. The happiest Mars in Pisces people are those who have a creative outlet that allows them to freely and imaginatively express their desires of the moment, their compassion – and even their anger. An example of Mars in Pisces is Bono, lead singer of U2, who seems to have found the perfect outlet for his creativity through his music and as a speaker for love and compassion.

Venus in Sagittarius, Mars in Scorpio : “Open”
When a planet moves through a sign, that sign becomes its home for the time being, and that sign’s characteristics affect it in one way or another. Take a real life example to understand, imagine you are on a world tour where you travel through many countries, stay in each country for some time and then move on to the next country. Let’s say your first language is English, your religion is X and the combination of your lifestyle, preferences and beliefs is Y. This is your general or fundamental nature or let’s say this is your fundamental theme. If you pass through a country during your trip, let’s say country A, you may find that this country has an overall theme that is very similar to your basic theme. For example, people in this country speak English, most of them practice Religion X, this country may be mostly focused on the same foods as you, it may have a similar type of government structure as your country, it may have similar laws, and many others Things you are comfortable with.
As long as you stay in that country during your trip; It’s natural for you to feel at home, and as a result you feel relaxed, expanding, and able to do more with ease. During the journey you reach another country, say B, which has an overall theme that is at odds with your overall theme, although it may not be exactly the opposite of it. For example, that country may have a language that is not English and is very different from English; make it difficult for you to communicate. Although most of the remaining things are similar to your subject, this factor or another additional factor makes it a little difficult for you to feel relaxed, expand and be able to do more things with ease. You move on and enter a country C with an overall theme almost opposite to your basic theme and you don’t like the changes. It’s easy to see that you’re probably uncomfortable here and may not be able to relax or stretch out here.
Consider another option: you are traveling through another country D, which may have a general theme that differs from yours in some aspects; but this difference is good. It means that the people of this country may be friendlier than your country’s, the laws are more relaxed, there may be different foods than what you usually eat, but then you really like these foods when you taste them, the characteristics of this country some beautiful places and scenic views that your place doesn’t have; and other things too. Although this country and its general theme is different than yours, you are likely to feel even more relaxed, expanding and able to do more in this country. This is because your overall theme will find an option to upgrade in that country where your own country does not provide such an option.
This almost happens with planets during their transitory journey through various signs as well. Let’s look at a planet and try to understand this process even better. Consider the transit of Saturn through twelve signs. Capricorn is the home of Saturn and fits right in with its underlying theme. This means that Capricorn will serve as the standard used to compare Saturn’s experiences in other signs. When Saturn travels through Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, or Aquarius, he experiences experiences like Land A. This means that these signs are somewhat different from his basic theme, but Saturn is relaxed and able to do more in these signs. The signs like Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are the ones that serve as Land B where Saturn feels a little less relaxed but can still do a number of things.
The third group features signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, functioning as Land C, where Saturn is most uncomfortable and therefore unable to do much or expand in these signs. Among these signs also; Saturn finds the greatest discomfort in Aries, relatively less discomfort in Leo, and even less in Sagittarius. This means even though all of these signs make Saturn uncomfortable, he can still live with Sagittarius; It can try to survive in Leo and in Aries it feels suffocated. In the fourth group, Libra acts as Land D as it differs from Capricorn, but Saturn likes these changes and feels even more relaxed and expanding in this sign. Of course, that means Saturn has more work to do in this sign.
It is now easy to understand why Aries serves as Saturn’s sign of weakness and why Libra becomes its sign of exaltation. Aries simply doesn’t make Saturn appear the way he wants, and so his expressions in this sign are limited. On the other hand, Libra gives Saturn an extra boost, feeling motivated, inspired, and pumped to get even more work done. The same is happening with all other planets under Navagraha and by natural choices, meaning they are in different signs according to their experiences; there both signs of elevation and signs of weakening are chosen. Before proceeding with this discussion, let’s take a look at the signs of exaltation as well as the signs of debilitation for various planets under Navagraha.
The Sun is exalted in Aries and weakened in Libra.
The moon is exalted in Taurus and weakened in Scorpio.
Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and diminished in Capricorn.
Venus is exalted in Pisces and debilitated in Virgo.
Mars is exalted in Capricorn and diminished in Cancer.
Mercury is exalted in Virgo and weakened in Pisces.
Saturn is exalted in Libra and weakened in Aries.
Rahu is exalted in both Taurus and Virgo and is debilitated in both Scorpio and Pisces.
Ketu is exalted in both Scorpio and Pisces and weakened in both Taurus and Virgo.
Now that we understand what makes a planet strong or weak in a sign, let’s look at some important facts associated with the strengthening and weakening of planets in Vedic astrology. As we go through the explanations previously described; we can of course assume that each planet is beneficent in its sign of exaltation and becomes malevolent in its sign of debilitation. As convincing as it may sound, it’s not true. A planet’s ability to feel relaxed and expanded in a sign primarily speaks of its working power, and this fact cannot be used to predict the working nature of such a planet. Going back to the original example, if you fancy having the best experience of your life in country D; that doesn’t really make these experiences good for everyone and that fact only applies to you.
Good and bad is relative, which means that what is good for you may not be good for someone else and it may even be bad for them. Of course, as we imagine traveling through different countries, we tend to think of ourselves as good people, although the reality may be different; and let’s see how. Let’s change a variable here and assume that this native Say G who is traveling around the world is a bad person with low moral values, a criminal or something. Just by changing that fact; The definition of good and bad changes when we look at the bigger picture. When this native of G travels through country D, where the language, lifestyle and most other things are to his liking; His experience in this country is good and hence he is enjoying his stay here. Because of the convenience of language, food, lifestyle and other things; G may find it easy to operate from here and work more and more in this country. So this country is good from his point of view, that is, if we look at the smaller picture.
But remember, G is a criminal. The fact that he is comfortable in country D means he may be doing more operations in that country, which further means he will cause problems for the others. If you look at this situation from this larger perspective; it looks like a bad one. This is because a bad person uses the comfort of a country to create evil. So this experience may be good for him, but it is bad in a broader sense. Likewise, if this native G goes to country C, where language, food, lifestyle and other factors make it difficult for him to enjoy and expand; This country is bad from his point of view. It means he might not feel comfortable staying here and expanding his operations. If we look at it from a larger angle; It’s a good thing as G won’t be able to spread negativity in this country. It means that the discomfort felt by G is bad for him, but it’s good for the country because only because of that discomfort; he will spare this country and go elsewhere.
Consider another possibility; Suppose a native H, good in most senses, travels through country D. Since D comforts him; it can expand and operate better in this country. Since H is a good person; His surgery will spread more positivity everywhere. It means in this case; his stay in this country is good for him and the others. However, when H travels through country C, which makes him uncomfortable and unable to expand and operate heavily; the equation changes. The country is not good for H as it does not give him the opportunity to spread his goodness. Since he cannot spread his goodness; everything around him is also at a loss as all the positivity he may have spread is not there now. In this case, both H and the environment are at a loss.
The same happens with transits of different planets through different signs. Placing a planet in its sign of Exaltation means primarily that this planet will expand and thrive here; and it doesn’t say much about the functioning nature of this planet. Likewise, placing a planet in its sign of debilitation primarily means that that planet will feel restricted and debilitated here; and it doesn’t say much about the functioning nature of such a planet. This means when a malevolent planet is placed in the most appropriate sign, like malevolent Saturn in Libra, it tends to expand and operate at its maximum strength. Hence we attach the word exalted to such a planet, as in this case Saturn. It means that Saturn in Libra is very lucky, expanding and gaining maximum strength; justification of the importance of being exalted.
However, as we already know, when a malicious person is very happy and strong in a certain place; It is very likely that everything around him will do more damage. When a criminal is happy, strong, and expanding; this is just bad news for the law-abiding world around him. Hence such a malevolent exalted Saturn will do much more harm to the native; than malevolent Saturn of average strength. Therefore, in this case, the exaltation of Saturn is not a blessing to the native, but a curse. On the other hand, if Saturn is both exalted and benevolent in a horoscope; it is a boon to the native. Beneficial Saturn, having so much power, can do much more good to this native; as a benefic Saturn of average strength can. Likewise, it is good for the native in many ways when wicked Saturn is weakened in a chart; since such a Saturn cannot cause major problems due to lack of power or inconvenience in operation. On the other hand, if the benevolent Saturn is weakened in a horoscope, this is a loss for the native, as this planet may not bring him much good now; even if it wants.
Therefore, a planet’s presence in its sign of Transcendence should be taken as a measure of its strength as well as its operational comfort. Whether such operations will be beneficial or harmful should not be judged by the presence of a planet in its sign of Ascension, or any sign for that matter. Similarly, a planet’s presence in its debilitating sign should be taken as a measure of its weakness as well as its inconvenience in operations. Whether such operations will be beneficial or harmful should not be decided by the presence of such a planet in its debilitating sign. Vedic astrology offers various guidelines for analyzing the benevolent or ill-natured nature of different planets in a chart; and these guidelines should be used to get that job done.
Now let’s discuss some other aspects related to exalted and debilitated planets; which can affect their strengths and alter their ease of use. When an Exalted Planet is placed in conjunction with an Evil Planet; The wicked planet will afflict such an exalted planet, and therefore the exalted planet may lose some of its strength in fighting such an affliction. How much power an exalted planet loses in such a situation depends on the strength of the planet infesting it and the proximity of the conjunction. For example, when the beneficent, exalted Sun is beset by malevolent, weakened Saturn in Aries; This affliction cannot do much harm to the Sun, since the tormenting planet that is Saturn is very weak in Aries. Consider another possibility, when the beneficent, exalted Sun is visited by malevolent Jupiter in Aries; This is a stronger affliction as Jupiter is comfortable in Aries.
However, when malevolent Mars afflicts the beneficent exalted Sun in Aries; This can become a serious problem. This is because Mars in Aries is strong and capable of doing so much damage to the power as well as some other meanings of the exalted Sun. In this case, Mars is placed closer to the Sun in Aries; More damage or weakness can be dealt to the Exalted Sun. Therefore, this aspect should also be kept in mind; when assessing the strength of an exalted planet.
Coming to the next factor, when an exalted planet is associated with a benevolent planet; it can gain even more power since the other planet can bestow more power on such an exalted planet. This rule only applies when both planets are benevolent, meaning that even the exalted planet is benevolent. If a malevolent sublime planet is associated with a benevolent planet; The energies of these two planets can begin to counteract each other. This is because a malevolent exalted planet can try to torment the benevolent planet and such a benevolent planet can try to counteract the energy of such an exalted planet in order to protect itself. Through this process; both planets lose some of their energy and thus both become weaker. If the exalted planet is also blissful, the strength that such exalted planet gains depends on the strength of the other blissful planet. For example, if the beneficent exalted Mercury is placed in Virgo along with the beneficent debilitated Venus; Mercury cannot benefit much from this due to Venus’s weakness. However, when beneficent exalted Mercury is placed in Virgo along with benevolent Saturn, it can achieve more strength as Saturn is strong in Virgo. When the beneficent exalted Mercury is placed in Virgo along with the beneficent exalted Rahu; both planets can greatly strengthen each other; for both are blessed and strong.
When a benevolent exalted planet is placed in conjunction with two planets, one benevolent and the other malevolent; The net strength of such an exalted planet depends on the strength of the other two planets placed in the same sign. For example, when the beneficent exalted Jupiter is placed in Cancer with the beneficent Moon and malevolent Mercury; Jupiter must not lose much power. This is because the Moon is strong in Cancer and Mercury is uncomfortable with this sign. Therefore, the net result can be favorable. However, if beneficent exalted Jupiter is placed in Cancer with malevolent Moon and beneficent Mercury; there is cause for concern as the malevolent Moon is strong and benevolent Mercury is weak. In the same way; This guideline can be used to gauge the strength of an exalted planet when it is present with three or four other planets.
A similar policy works in the case of a weakened planet. If a benevolent weakened planet is placed with a strong benevolent planet; Such a weakened planet will gain considerable strength. However, if placed with a weak benevolent planet; Such a weakened planet cannot gain much power. For example, when beneficent debilitated Venus is placed in Virgo with benevolent Mars; it may not gain much strength as Mars is not comfortable in Virgo. However, if the beneficent weakened Venus is placed in Virgo along with benevolent Saturn or benevolent Mercury; it can gain considerable strength as these two planets are strong in Virgo. The same guideline applies to the suffering of a weakened planet by a malevolent planet, meaning that the malevolent planet is stronger; more weakness is inflicted on the weakened planet. For example, when the beneficent weakened Sun is placed in Libra with malevolent exalted Saturn; This troublesome combination can spell disaster for the native, as Sun can become extremely weak from this affliction. Since the sun represents our immunity and lifeline, among other important things; Bad things can happen to this native; including death at a young age; if the rest of the horoscope is not strong. Using the same rule, the strength of a weakened planet can be calculated when it is present in combination with more than one planet.
The next factor on the list is the phenomenon of burning, which can further weaken 6 planets under Navagraha. If a planet approaches the sun than a safe distance, that planet burns up and loses some of its power. Except for Sun, Rahu and Ketu, all six planets are subject to this phenomenon. It means when one of these six planets is weakened or elevated; We need to check if it’s burned or not. Even if it burns; the sign in which such combustion occurs is the key factor. For example, each planet in Aries receives the maximum Combustion effect as the Sun is exalted in this sign. Since Saturn is the only planet weakened in Aries; this factor will further weaken Saturn. For other exalted and weakened planets, the general guideline should be used. For example, exalted Jupiter in Cancer may not lose much power through combustion; since the Sun is not so strong in Cancer.
Moving on to the next factor; The placement of an exalted or debilitated planet on the Navamsha chart, commonly known as D9, can also alter the results to some extent, although this is not a major factor. If an exalted planet in Navamsha is weakened, it may not stay as strong. For example, if the exalted Sun is placed in Aries and in D9 in Libra; it is fainter than the Sun placed in D1 in Aries and in D9 in Leo, which is even fainter than the Sun placed in D1 in Aries and in D9 in Aries. In the third case, the Sun is exalted in both D1, meaning the Lagna chart or natal chart, and in the Navamsha chart. Therefore, in this case, it becomes very strong. Similarly, the weakened Libra Sun is weakest in D1 when placed in Libra in D9, while partially relieved of the weakening when placed in Libra in D1 and Aries in D9. This guideline can also be used to gauge the change in strength of other exalted and weakened planets.
That being said, any planet placed in the first house of a horoscope tends to gain additional strength, whether that planet is exalted or debilitated, benevolent or malevolent. This is because the 1st house or Ascendant is the core of a chart and any planet placed in the core tends to demand additional control over other energies.

Venus in Sagittarius, Mars in Scorpio Compatibility
Venus in Sagittarius loves to explore new horizons and Mars in Scorpio needs to explore the depths. They can go far together, but their very different energies could pull them apart.
Venus in Sagittarius is always looking for a new adventure. She relates to her partner through exploration. With someone intriguing enough to keep her interested, she can be the ideal accomplice. Always ready to try something new, Ms. Sag dives into love with uninhibited confidence. She can be a generous – if unconventional – partner, but needs freedom of movement. When her lover tries to limit her freedom, Venus in Sagittarius runs to the door and sets off on her next great adventure alone.
Sex is his motivator, but it’s not just about the physical act. Mr. Scorpio wants to lose himself in the moment with a passion that borders on extinction. Sex is serious business for Mars in Scorpio, and he doesn’t choose his partners lightly. His attraction is instinctive, and once he’s attached to someone, he can have trouble letting go. Jealousy, possessiveness, manipulation… these are some of the things his partner has to live with. However, he can be very loyal and will put up with almost anything for a lover he is attracted to.
These two will (initially) generate a lot of heat together. Both have no trouble letting go, so the chemistry is sizzling. But pretty quickly Venus will find Mr. Scorpio far too difficult in Sag. She’ll want to playfully fight while he’ll want to keep staring eye contact for half an hour as he searches her soul. If she tries to go out with friends, Mars in Scorpio will be convinced that she is cheating on him.
Venus in Sagittarius will likely be the one to herald this relationship. She will book it as another learning experience as Mars in Scorpio isolates himself so he can heal or figure out the best way to stalk her. The difficulty arises from Sag’s need for freedom versus Scorpio’s need for control. They can burn white hot together, but there must be many modifying influences in their respective charts.

PROMINENT EXAMPLES OF THE DEMANDING POWER PACK OF PASSION
Prominent examples of The Inquiring Powerhouse of Passion include Bela Lugosi (born October 20, 1882 adb), the Hungarian actor who appropriated the character of Dracula. Lugosi’s sex appeal was evident even before he donned the famous tuxedo and cape, and he’s been married five times, although only one of those unions lasted more than a few years. As a husband, Lugosi was demanding, jealous, and controlling, but he never lost his old-world gallantry.
Guitar legend Jimi Hendrix (born November 27, 1942 adb) didn’t need a tuxedo to become known as the leading sex symbol of the 1960s. His electrifying performances and insatiable sexual appetite were sufficient. Unlike Lugosi, Hendrix had no sense of marriage and died a bachelor. Other members of this group include television star and health guru Suzanne Somers (born October 16, 1946 adb) and feminist writer Germaine Greer (born January 29, 1939). adb,) actor Jude Law (born December 29, 1972 wik,) actor Ryan Reynolds (born October 23, 1976 wik) and rocker Kid Rock (born January 17, 1971 wik.)
Perhaps the most melodramatic example of this kind is the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe (born 4 November 1946 adb.). Mapplethorpe spent much of his youth denying his homosexuality. He used his long friendship with the androgynous Patti Smith as a cover. When they broke up and he embraced a gay lifestyle, Mapplethorpe chose the most extreme lifestyle imaginable, becoming a believer in leather bondage and sadomasochism and seeking out random, mostly African-American, partners off the street. Meanwhile, Mapplethorpe’s photography career flourished under the patronage of a wealthy lover. Shortly before his death from A.I.D.S. a retrospective exhibition of Mapplethorpe’s photographs toured the country. Alongside the floral and classic nudes that made him famous, the photographer insisted on including images showing him and his friends performing various sadomasochistic rituals. The exhibition caused a sensation in conservative circles and left Mapplethorpe with a reputation as a sexual oddity that sometimes overshadows his artistic achievements.
