Things You Should Never Buy on a Saturday Faith Mysticism oi-Renu

Saturday is the most feared day of the week. People consider it unfavorable for lack of knowledge and are afraid of it. You think since the tag is associated with Shani Dev, he could punish you of his own sweet will without any valid reason. However, the truth is that Shani Dev is the lord of justice and ensures that justice prevails

And that’s not a new philosophy. Hinduism teaches at every step that one reaps the fruits of one’s past karma. Shani Dev delivers not only bad but also good results. It is said that depending on past karma, he occupies a position in the natal chart, which becomes a reason for various events in one’s life. Well, what you can do is not to annoy him any more so that at least the penalty is not heavy.

In Hindu Vedic astrology, Vaar is the name for the solar days. Just like the western calendar, there are a total of 7 vaars in the Hindu calendar.

Meaning of Vaar in Panchang

Translated as “Day” of the week, Vaar is an important branch in the formation of Panchang and is based entirely on the Earth’s rotation on its axis. The time difference between one sunrise and another is called a “vaar” or day. Each Vaar is influenced by a planet and connects to the properties of that planet.

In the Hindu Vedic calendar, vaars are used to mark the beginning of auspicious and inauspicious times for performing a task or activity.

The 7 Vaars, their western designation and the planets ruling each of these Vaars can be understood from the following table:

Vaar Western Name Ruling Planet Ravivar Sunday Sun Somvar Monday Moon Mangalwar Tuesday Mars Budhwar Wednesday Mercury Guruwar Thursday Jupiter Shukrawar Friday Venus Shanivar Saturday Saturn

Penumbras Rahu and Ketu are associated with Tuesday and Saturday.

The counting of each day begins with sunrise and ends with sunrise of the next day. Each day or vaar consists of a 24-hour cycle and is referred to as the hora in the Vedic calendar. The dominion over each planet on each of the days gives them their respective names.

Favorable and unfavorable effects of each vaar

Although every day is a new beginning and is the right time to complete all tasks if you really want it, every day has certain advantages and disadvantages. In the Vedic calendar there are some days that are considered very auspicious while others are not. A full understanding of these days can be found here:

Sunday—Ravivar

The first day of every calendar, Sunday, is ruled by the Sun and is good for starting to use new medicines, buying cars, real estate, metallic things, legal advice, buying pets

Monday – Somavaar

The second day of the week, Monday, is ruled by the moon and is good for buying farming equipment, farming activities, tourism, wearing new clothes or gems, buying and selling jewelry.

Tuesday – Mangalwar

The third day of the week, Tuesday, is ruled by Mars and is considered unfavorable for detective work, judicial work, military work and making important decisions.

Wednesday – Budhwar

The fourth day of the week, Wednesday, is ruled by Mercury and is considered good for work such as applying for a loan, education, initiation, opening an account.

Thursday – Guruwar

The fifth day of the week, Thursday, is ruled by Jupiter and is considered good for receiving an education in science, justice work, religious works, jewelry buying, and marriage work.

Friday – Shukrawar

The sixth day of the week, Friday, is ruled by Venus and is considered good for participating in agricultural work, movies, cross-curricular activities, and initiating romance

Saturday – Shaniwar

The last day of the week, Saturday, is ruled by Saturn and is considered unfavorable for performing most tasks except for home heating, employment, buying a new car, and religious activities.

Why Tuesday is not good day?

Cultural references. In the Greek world, Tuesday (the day of the week of the Fall of Constantinople) is considered an unlucky day. The same is true in the Spanish-speaking world; it is believed that this is due to the association between Tuesday and Mars, the god of war and therefore related to death.

weekday

Not to be confused with Thursday

Tuesday is the day of the week between Monday and Wednesday. According to the international standard ISO 8601, Monday is the first day of the week; thus Tuesday is the second day of the week. However, according to some common calendars, particularly in the United States, Sunday is the first day of the week, so Tuesday is the third day of the week. In Islamic countries, Saturday is the first day of the week and Tuesday is the fourth day of the week. The English name is derived from Old English Tiwesdæg and Middle English Tewesday, meaning “Tīw’s Day”, the day of Tiw or Týr, the god of duel and law and justice in Norse mythology. Tiw was equated with Mars in the interpretatio germanica, and the name of the day is a translation of the Latin dies Martis.

Etymology[ edit ]

The name Tuesday derives from the Old English Tiwesdæg, literally meaning “Tiw’s Day”.[1] Tiw is the Old English form of the Proto-Germanic god *Tîwaz or Týr in Old Norse. *Tîwaz derives from the Proto-Indo-European base *dei-, *deyā-, *dīdyā-, meaning “to shine”, from which words like “deity” also come.[2]

German Tuesday and Dutch Dinsdag derive from the Germanic custom of the thing, as Tiw/Týr also had a strong connection to the thing.

The Latin name dies Martis (“Day of Mars”) corresponds to the Greek ἡμέρα Ἄρεως (hēméra Áreōs, “Day of Ares”). In most languages of Latin origin (Italian, French, Spanish, Catalan, Romanian, Galician, Sardinian, Corsican, but not Portuguese), the day is named after Mars, the Roman parallel to the ancient Greek Ares (Ἄρης).

In some Slavic languages, the word Tuesday comes from the Old Church Slavonic word въторъ, meaning “the second”. Bulgarian and Russian Вторник (Vtornik) (Serbian: уторак utorak) is derived from the Bulgarian and Russian adjective for “second” – Втори (Vtori) or Второй (Vtoroi).

In Japanese, the second day of the week is 火曜日 (kayōbi), from 火星 (kasei), the planet Mars. Similarly, the word Tuesday in Korean is 화요일 (hwa yo il), which also means Martian day.

In the Indo-Aryan languages Pali and Sanskrit, the name of the day derives from Angaraka (“one who is of red color”),[3] a style (salutation) for Mangala, the god of war, and for Mars , the red planet.

In the Nahuatl language, Tuesday is Huītzilōpōchtōnal (Nahuatl pronunciation: [wiːt͡siloːpoːt͡ʃˈtoːnaɬ]), meaning “Day of Huitzilopochtli”.

In Arabic, Tuesday is الثلاثاء (al-Thulatha’), meaning “the third”. When added after the word يوم (yom or youm), it means “the third day”.

Religious customs[edit]

In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Tuesday is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The Octoechos contain hymns on this theme, arranged in an eight-week cycle, sung on Tuesdays throughout the year. At the end of Tuesday’s service, the dismissal begins with the words: “May Christ our true God, through the intercession of his most pure mother, the honorable and glorious prophet, forerunner and baptizer John…”

In Hinduism, Tuesday is also a popular day to worship and pray Hanuman, Kartikeya, Durga, Kali and Ganesh and many Hindus fast on Tuesday. [4] Tuesday is also considered the day ruled by Mars in Hinduism.

Cultural references[ edit ]

In the Greek world, Tuesday (the weekday of the fall of Constantinople) is considered an unlucky day.[5] The same applies to the Spanish-speaking world; it is believed that this is due to the association between Tuesday and Mars, the god of war, and is therefore related to death.[6] For both Greeks and Spanish speakers, the 13th of the month is considered unlucky if it falls on a Tuesday instead of a Friday. In Judaism, on the other hand, Tuesday is considered a particularly lucky day, because in Bereshit (Parashah), known in Christian tradition as the first chapters of Genesis,[7] the paragraph about this day contains the sentence “It was good” twice.[8]

In the Thai solar calendar, the day is named after the Pali word for the planet Mars, which also means “ashes of the dead”; the color associated with Tuesday is pink.

In the folk rhyme Monday’s Child, “Tuesday’s child is full of grace”.

Common occurrences[ edit ]

United States[edit]

Tuesday is the usual day for elections in the United States. Federal elections take place on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November; This date was established by an 1845 statute for presidential elections (specifically for electoral college selections) and extended to elections to the House of Representatives in 1875 and to the Senate in 1914. Tuesday was the earliest day of the week, which was convenient for elections in the early 19th century: citizens might have had to travel a full day to cast their ballots, and on Sunday, which was a day of worship for the vast majority of them, don’t leave. However, a bill was introduced in 2012 to move elections to weekends, with a co-sponsor stating, “By moving Election Day from a single day in the middle of the workweek to a full weekend, we encourage more working Americans to participate. Our democracy is best served when our leaders are elected by as many Americans as possible.”[9]

Video games are typically released on Tuesdays in the United States, a fact often credited to Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s 1992 “Sonic 2s Day” marketing campaign. DVDs and Blu-rays will be released Tuesday.[11] Albums were also typically released on Tuesdays, but this changed to Fridays worldwide in 2015.[12]

Australia[ edit ]

In Australia, the Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia meets on the first Tuesday of every month except January.[13] The federal government adopts the federal budget on the second Tuesday in May, as has been the norm since 1994 (apart from 1996 and 2016).[14] The Melbourne Cup is held on the first Tuesday in November each year.[15]

In astrology, Tuesday is aligned by the planet Mars and the astrological signs Aries and Scorpio.

What is the best time to buy running shoes?

The best months out of year to find deals on running shoes (and most athletic gear, really) are January and April. In January, stores take advantage of the fact that everyone has really good intentions for the year and offer pretty good sales to draw people in.

7 tips and tricks to find great running shoes at great prices

Oh run.

You either love it or you hate it – or you love it and hate it. (Or you refuse to run and love to hate it if that’s what you’re here for.)

But whether you’re the avid, endorphin-fueled marathon runner, the “Oh, well, I’ll walk the family 5k on Thanksgiving” curmudgeon, or the “Put yourself half a mile behind your route in someone’s yard” type—there’s a reason we do it.

Thing is, running is one of the cheapest sports you can do – no expensive gym membership required!

Just you, the great outdoors and – really expensive running shoes.

*Cue the sad trumpet*

OK, so the actual running is free. But the gear that goes with it can get very expensive real quick—especially if you’re serious about running (and your overall health and safety, but we’ll get to that in a moment).

For beginning and casual runners, it’s easy to skip the $500 GPS watch and $89 high-tech tech leggings in favor of the free run-tracking phone app and $8 sale-shelf running shorts.

But one thing that all runners – of all ages and levels – need to invest in is a good pair of running shoes.

So, in honor of Global Running Day, I spoke to one of our editors (and six-time marathoner and triathlete), Caitlin Constantine (that’s her in the photos here) to learn how to review running shoes at a reasonable price.

But first…

Before she shared her great expert tips with me, Constantine asked me to pass a word of warning to anyone who buys running shoes:

“If this is your first time looking for running shoes, I recommend going to a specialty running store and working with the staff to find shoes that meet your needs, and then buying your shoes from that store,” Constantine said. “When you find shoes that work for you, consider the full cost of the shoes as payment for services rendered.

“Once you’ve been able to use their expertise to identify the type of shoe that’s right for you — whether it’s a stability shoe or a neutral shoe or one with more or less cushioning — you’ll be better equipped to start running shoes find the ones that work for you without paying full price.”

Roger that?

Good.

Now we can continue with the list of tips, tricks, and hacks that we have compiled!

(OK, just kidding, again: If you’re thinking about skipping Constantine’s advice – don’t do it. I adapted, and it actually meant the difference between the loathing and actually enjoying running. But to date, I have struggling with injuries I sustained from running in the wrong shoes for too long because my younger self thought a certain trendy brand was ~cooler~ than the rest. A painful lesson learned.)

7 tips to find good and cheap running shoes

I’d say offhand, but we’ve had a lot of noise here – so let’s dive right in.

1. Know when to shop

The best months of the year to find deals on running shoes (and actually most sports equipment) are January and April.

In January, stores take advantage of the fact that everyone has really good resolutions for the year and offer some pretty good sales to lure people in.

In April, after being locked up all winter, people are getting restless and ready to go outside; They want to do it in fresh clothes and bright colors, which has them flocking to the stores again — making stores compete for their attention with deep discounts.

2. Shop at the right stores

Two places I always look first when shopping for running shoes: department stores and outlet malls.

Department stores like to move their products quickly, so they often discount slow sellers (e.g. running shoes) during the monthly and semi-annual specials they always advertise.

Outlet malls are sometimes thought to be a little less than upfront in terms of prices and quality when it comes to high-end luxury brands. But for most shoe stores and athletic brands, the savings are real because they’re just trying to get rid of last year’s models.

Sport and adventure gear stores also regularly have running shoe specials, so be sure to stop by to check them out. (Just make sure to put on your blinders as you walk past the workout clothes – you’re here for shoes, remember?)

3. Do your search online

This method only works if you’ve gone through the fitting process that Constantine explained to us earlier – you need to know which brand and style are right for you and what features to look out for. (Pop quiz! Do you know if you need a neutral shoe or a stability shoe? No? Get fitted.)

Sports and outdoor gear websites like Active GearUp and The Clymb offer hefty discounts on running shoes. Just sign up for their email newsletters to be the first to hear about big sales and new products. This way you also get some great coupons!

4. Sign up for email lists

Speaking of signing up for emails, also sign up for the email lists for shoe brands you like. You will be notified of all sales and new model arrivals (i.e. older products will be discounted soon).

5. Look for models from last year

Wherever your search takes you, keep an eye out for last year’s models. You can usually find these in the sale and clearance areas, either in-store or online. This is how Constantine found good running shoes for as little as $60-$70.

And sure, last year’s models won’t have the latest, greatest technology – but I promise current shoe technology won’t make or break a beginner’s game.

6. Check out the exhibitions

If your city ever hosts a major race (like a marathon or a top-flight triathlon), visit the fair. Running shops often set up at these events and it can be a great opportunity to snag some running shoes at special show prices.

7. Find your local running shop

You should have already found your local running shop (for that fitting, remember?), but don’t forget to go back to shop what’s on offer (and support a local business)!

Most local stores even have an email list that you can sign up for as well, so you’ll be the first to hear about coupons and special offers.

On your marks, get set, go

Now that you have outfitted and invested in a first pair of running shoes with the right support for your own feet attached to your legs and connecting to your body, you can shop the deals and find the best deals.

It may take a while, but eventually you’ll be bragging about how much money you saved on your new running shoes to your running buddies on your 10-mile run.

When should I buy heels?

Shop at the end of the day.

This might sound weird but, your feet are more likely to be tired and swollen from work and daily activities so, this is the best time to shop for your heels because you’ll get an idea of how the shoe will fit you throughout the day.

Shopping As Per The Days Of The Week

High heels look elegant, graceful and sexy with any clothes. They can make a woman feel more confident and desirable. However, it is important to make the right choice when buying high heels, otherwise you will regret the purchase you made, especially if the price is a little higher. That’s why we’re here to help you make the right choice when it comes to buying heels. Here are 8 things to consider when buying heels if you want your shoes to remain both beautiful and practical.

1. Choose the right size and fit.

You should know that different companies have different shoe sizes. So always try on a pair first to see if they are the right size and fit. High heels should fit snugly and hold the foot firmly in place. Loose heels can cause your foot to constantly slide up and down, making it difficult for you to keep your balance. Choose the right size no matter how pretty the heels look.

2. Don’t opt for tight-fitting heels.

Your heels should have enough room for your toes. If your heels are not wide enough, it will definitely cause pain and cramps. Wearing heels without enough room for your toes can also increase your chances of developing hammer toes, corns, bunions, and arthritis. So opt for pointed toe heels with a slightly rounded almond shape that give more room for your toes.

3. Shop at the end of the day.

This may sound strange, but your feet are more likely to be tired and swollen from work and daily activities. Hence, this is the best time to buy your heels as you will get an idea of how the shoe will fit you throughout the day. Don’t try heels in the morning if you don’t want to complain that they’re too tight after swollen feet. Shop towards the end of the day when your feet are swollen to ensure your heels fit you perfectly.

4. Do the walk test.

Never buy a pair of heels without walking in them first. Wear both heels and parade up and down the store for at least 5 minutes. Walk in, turn it over and see how balanced it makes you feel. Think well about buying a pair of heels if there is a touch of wobble. If you find it difficult to maintain your balance and posture, you should look for other options. Consider buying heels with thick insoles and adequate cushioning.

5. Opt for leather or suede heels.

Invest in quality leather heels if you want your feet to be comfortable over the long term. High heels made of suede, leather, or a combination of both tend to conform slightly to the shape of the foot. This material also prevents your feet from chafing. In addition, shoes made of genuine leather or suede will last much longer.

6. Check heel placement and thickness.

When choosing high heels, pay attention to where the heel sits. The heel should ideally be placed under your own heel. Remember, the thicker the heel, the more support it offers your body. Look for platforms that distribute your weight evenly throughout your foot, rather than concentrating it on the ball of your foot or heel. So choose wider, chunkier heels if you want to reduce the risk of sprained ankles.

7. Consider the height of the heels.

High heels with a height of 3 cm to 9 cm are the most comfortable for walking. Higher heels put more pressure on the lower back, knees, and ankles and don’t provide balance support. Opt for kitten heels, which are 4cm to 5cm high and are a versatile choice for everyday wear. You can also buy 7-8 cm heels for work. The 10 cm heel is a great option for a party or dinner. Avoid buying heels higher than 10 cm.

8. Think about your wardrobe.

Don’t buy high heels just for the sake of it. Go shoe shopping and keep your wardrobe in mind. Try on when you buy, imagine your outfits and see if your heels match your outfits. If you don’t have many outfits to match the heels, it’s best to leave the shoes on the shelf and move on.

Shop wisely ladies.
